Lydia tries too hard to be head Bitch in Charge.  These are adult women fully capable of making their own decisions. Lydia is taking this trip hosting way too serious. I am not sure why someone deciding to visit Vicki later would hurt Lydia's feelings, then again I didn't get why there was an issue with "the group text" which consisted of a picture from Tamra in her room and she and Shannon deciding not to join the others.  It is about time for Lydia to break down and claim she misses her husband and children.

I think if Lydia wants to go to the hospital and see Vicki it is fine.  I appreciate Lydia didn't go all sanctimonious on what the others should be doing-to their faces.  It is 10pm the dining room closes at 11pm, they are already an hour late for dinner.   One person is enough to go and check on Vicki.  What are they going to do at the hospital while Vicki is getting checked?   Meghan certainly shouldn't go and leave her baby-there are line producers and what not to stay with Vicki.  Why would the hospital want this giant entourage around while Vicki gets treated for altitude sickness/anxiety attack?  I can't speak to the hospitals of Iceland but many hospitals don't want people hanging around in the middle of the night.   I get where Lydia is coming from is  nice to have someone go with and she should leave it at that.  It makes me wonder if she is concerned about being left out of something else while she totes Vicki's bag.  There may be valuable camera time she misses.

Not to sound callous but they are only half way through an expensive four day trip-can't have the entire cast tied to Vicki and her malady.  In Ireland Meghan begged off a few activities because she was under the weather.  This is expensive filming time.

The reaction of the other women to Peggy was more perplexing to me than anything else in that clip. 

Shannon: "Why is Peggy in there?" Umm, as opposed to you, who declared shiva on Vicki and swore, "I will NEVER speak to you again"? 

And Kelly can snap her fingers at and instruct Peggy on her demeanor/disposition but it's some sort of infuriating transgression for Peggy to utter "shhh"? Kelly is just an asshole. 

From what I recall Tamra and Kelly alike certainly voiced their disapproval of Meghan's measured response to the ATV crash so their respective befuddlement ("why is Peggy so upset?!") and cavalier let's-go-eat attitude are pretty hypocritical.

YAY!  Good for them.  They need this.  

Watching the clips for the next episodes drove me crazy.  Peggy glomming onto me as I have been hurling and sweating would make me livid.  It also seems more about Peggy than Vicki.  I am not one that wants an audience when I am sick.  Husband yes.  Doctors yes.  People that are new in my life or coworkers?  Fuck no.  Lydia is nearly unworthy of discussion she is THAT irritating to me.

it seemed that way her 1st, 2nd, 3rd and part of this season...but this season, i've also noticed she's starting to turn a corner a bit. she's mentioned the restaurant being a way to make herself happy whether david is disconnected from her or not, she mentioned to tamra that it was the perfect time to go to iceland, to see if her absence makes david's heart grow fonder and if not, "there's nothing i can do," she said, in a kind of defeated but also ready to accept reality way. 

i feel like this separation has been a long time coming. being on this show really tests and puts a strain on marriages - as evidenced by how many couples get divorced while on the show - so if your marriage isn't good to start with, your relationship's not gonna make it.

I would question her motives but she was actually joking around with Vicki in Tamra's room when they first got there. I do think she actually cared that Vicki was sick and scared in a foreign country and needed to hear words of encouragement/compassion from those that have know her longer than a hot minute (Peggy).

1.) I hope there's a giant Kelly/Peggy fight.  That would fill my cold shriveled heart with glee.

2.) Lydia's jacket is ridiculous and I love it (the jacket, not it being ridiculous).  It's the best sparkle she's had all season.

Eh, Tamra was joking around with her way more. And Tamra didn't elbow her way into the room to take center stage with Vicki for a moment. I don't think Shannon cared all that much, I think she knew that she got flak last season for her response to Vicki's accident and she was going to make sure she took "the high road" this time. Which wouldn't be so bad except that Shannon has been so unrelenting in her vitriol toward Vicki all season. I mean, it's not like she has been indifferent. She has really been aggressively reactive about her. So, the contrast to, "Hey, Vick..." is a little off-putting, IMO.

She made her feelings known, she didn't go on about it unless someone asked her about Vicki. I am sure she reacted, in part, to what happened last season but deep down, Shannon likes to help sick people, even those she dislikes.  I wish someone would have just told Vicki that she drank too much her first night, only had 1 hour of sleep after that long flight/drinking and then climbed a very steep glacier even though she knew she had a mild heart condition! LOL

She is indeed a strange one. There's the esctatic "Yaaayy!" arm-waving kooky adolescent girl who looks and behaves  like a "My Pony" castoff. The wealthy Joel Osteen-brand "Jesus wants you to be rich" pseudo-Christian who is repeatedly shocked and downright intimidated by displays of non-Christian behavior (in her self-righteous but moronic and woefully uniformed view), including drag queen shows, homosexuals, etc. The annointed friend whisperer who has assigned to gaslight, with full religious fervor, Shannon, the highly neurotic and fragile apostate.

And there's the self-appointed head Bitch in Charge role mentioned above. Watching that video from inside and outside Vicki's deathbed chamber, one sees her immediate transformation to it. Her already heavily made up and dark bulbous eyes become even darker, her voice and expression deadly somber, as she kneels on the well-traveled hotel carpet outside the mausoleum, holds out her boney arms to pull the others down to their knees, and begins a solemn prayer for Vicki's miraculous recovery from death's portal. A while later, she visits Kelly and Meghan in the hotel dining room, sternly guilting the ingrates for choosing to eat rather than rushing to hover by Vicki's side at the hospital, which is exactly where she, the righteous one, is headed. And, she adds as she heads out the door, she fully expects them to spell her there as soon as they've finished their late-evening feast. Bitch.
