Although we have nothing in common and the situations are wildly different, I could see a bit of myself (a number of years ago) in Darcey tonight. You know in your mind the relationship is destroying you and will end in disaster, but you keep holding on to how great it was in the beginning, blah blah. The whole thing is a rollercoaster because the controlling freak keeps feeding you just enough to keep you hooked. Run away, Darcey. You're starting to see the light.

Side note, Cortney's parents are adorable.

Shawn Robinson did her usual shitty job hosting this tell-all.  She lobbed the usual softball, pre-planned questions at the participants.  Why do I continue to be surprised?

What a thoroughly odd appearance from Jesse.  He has no room to talk about Darcey drinking.  He looked to be about three sheets to the wind during his entire segment.  For someone who always looked so severely neat and scrubbed during the regular season, he was super-sloppy and unkempt.  His tie was uneven, three inches of calf was showing beneath his pant leg, his hair looked horrible, and I saw distinct crazy eyes several times throughout his segment.  His immaturity and controlling tendencies are definitely showing.  Darcey (with her embarrassingly horsey-looking clip-on ponytail) was slightly less pathetic than usual, mainly because she appears to be completely over Jesse’s stubborn -but understandable- refusal to commit to her in any way.  The relationship will most definitely not last, but TLC will pay these jokers for a while longer to milk some more drama before they’re spit out into the reality TV shit heap.

Pole and Karine.  I still feel sorry for Karine, having to settle for this felonious jackass, but at least she’ll probably be safe and will get a better but still decidedly shitty life in America.  At least he seems committed and is following through with the steps to complete the K-1 process.

Mother Patrick was the hero of the episode, laying down truth after truth that no one wanted to hear while Patrick had the audacity to apologize for her to Myriam, as if she was some ranting old woman.  I’m not a fan of people acting like opinionated assholes on TV, but I’ll allow it in this case.  Myriam has every right to have a boyfriend and reject Patrick, but her arrogant “friend zone” bullshit got old quickly.  Rule #1 for relationships: Don’t make someone take an airplane trip to another country and not be honest with them.  If I had been Patrick, I would have brought printouts of my conversations with her to whip out when she claimed that they were meeting in France as friends.  Bitch, please.  Patrick?  Time to focus on your daughter.

Corny (please!) and Antonio continue to be the comic relief couple of the season.  Antonio dutifully played the role of the humble, shy immigrant when they showed the clip of her parents flipping through the calendar of his scantily-clad, totally-not-a-prelude-to-porn photos.  I would bet my life, my mother’s life, and your life that they will never see each other again, much less get married.  Antonio will see to that.

Sean and Abby.  Sean, you’re an idiot.  All I can say is, make sure you’re up-to-date on your medical care so you can treat the STD(s) that is/are almost certainly coming.  I lost hope in his ability to locate some balls and stick up for himself when Abby said she had plenty of options in the Dominican Republic, but still chose to live with Chris and he actually justified it.  I halfway expected Chris to walk by with a towel around his waist, fresh from a shower.  It’s hard to feel sorry for someone who is so utterly weak in every way.

Larry and Jenny’s story makes me too sad to recount in any detail.  She will eat that poor bastard alive when she gets to America.

I decided to watch the football game instead of this. Reading the comments though, it looks like they discussed the STI tests. He did have it done, too, at the same time as she did, and posted it online after a ton of comments about him only making Karinne take one. We just didn't see it on the air because the full truth wouldn't be as trashy and this show only wants trash.

Later, we find out that she's staying at Chris' condo, even though she said she cut it off with him ("for the sake of Sean"). And then at the end, she says she'll be moving out in 2 weeks. So, which is it, Abby - are you with Chris or not? Staying at his place until January, or out in 2 weeks?

She's a crafty one. Giggling through the engagement and also through the clips of her and Chris, but burying her face in her hands as if she's crying. For a 20 year old, she sure is cynical.

Abby's fake crying. I mean, you could totally tell from her eyes she was laughing. Besides, no one holds their hands only over their nose/mouth when they cry. Maybe she wasn't actually even trying to fake cry, but just appear ashamed. Either way, it didn't land.

Abby does not have a typical Haitian accent. Spouse is from Haiti and pointed it out to me. I think the only time they showed her speaking Kreyol was in the 1st episode, and she seemed to speak it without accent, so who knows. Maybe she's been speaking English in school since she was really young, like first grade.

1) Myriam - why didn't you tell Patrick that you had a boyfriend from the get-go or close to the get-go? What are you doing online with him so much that he thinks he has a shot at you? Would you waste several thousand dollars to visit Patrick in America?

2) Cortney - You expect to visit some dude you have never really actually spoken to and crash at his place in Spain? You have been previously catfished - you didn't notice anything er, familiar? Antonio taking off, not meeting you at the airport or anything or sending a friend to pick you up?

3) Larry/Paul - what is it that attracts you to women from other, mostly impoverished countries? Have you spoken to any counsellors?

4) Patrick - Myriam may be a soulmate of some sort (soulmates are mirrors to you and are rare). Myriam thought you probably wouldn't show up. One day you can tell a nice story of loving a woman who lived in Paris - love does not equal relationship. You can love many people.

5) Darcey - your boyfriend has zero interest in marrying you any time soon. He has shown a very ugly side of him to you many times. Why do you accept it/put up with it? And find a dress that fits and isn't that short or tight. Jesse - do you see women as fixer-upper projects?

Best line of the show: "You can see a big rock."  (The majesty of "Look at that goat" remains unchallenged, though).

Pole whimsically demonstrates the advantages of proposing to a non-English-speaking woman: you can refer to her as your "ball and chain" while proposing and still get the girl.

Jesse is abusive and controlling. Darcey is walking on egg shells around him. She needs to run. He flipped from a mean and crazy-eyed lunatic to acting loving, back to asshole. He seems to try to hold in his rage and acts very controlled and tense then loses it. The signs were there early in the relationship. Also on the video chat they showed in the finale he cut her off and said something like, "can I talk?" which seemed overreacting with anger. Jesse is way too controlling with telling her to never drink again. A couple glasses of wine with her sister is reasonable. It was sad to me how Darcey continued to take his abuse when they walked out and she wanted to be quiet and appease him by wearing his jacket. She wants to speak up for herself, saying things like "This is getting ridiculous" and "Maybe I should spend the last 20 years of my life being wined and dined."  The rollercoaster ride / abuse gets old quick. I actually thought for a minute she might see the light and break up during the tell all. I hope she sees her worth and leaves this asshole before her self-esteem gets any lower. I wonder what her daughters think of him.

I wholeheartedly agree.  Jesse is an emotional abuser and controller.  If he actually physically abused her and said "it's because you made me do it" it would be more clear to her, but it was clear enough to the rest of us anyway.

Dude lost his mind for no reason other than to further embarrass Darcy publicly and exert his dominance over her.  She can't be that desperate.  She's a decent looking woman who seems to have a good source of income, why she chooses to accept the abuse heaped on her by some imported asshole is beyond comprehension.   She's a grown ass woman and if she wants to drink a glass or two of wine with her sister then so be it.  Maybe her submissive behavior is the reason light bulb head got with her when he found out how weak she is.  Wouldn't surprise me if ropes and chains and maybe a whip or two is involved once the lights get dim.   If that's her thing then cool, but i'd love to see her tell ol windmill boy to go fuck himself.  He's no prize and there are other, much better men out there who will treat her right - as long as she can contain her crazy and stop being so damn needy.
