Where I have a problem, is that Asa thinks that MJ, and everyone else, should be an open book for her to question. She wants private details of their lives, resents when they don't share with her but then refuses to share hers with them. With 1 hand she tells MJ (or whoever) that she is asking because she is their "friend" but then with her other hand, she slaps them away when they ask similar questions of her, telling them she doesn't share with them because they aren't "friends".

I also noticed tonight that she got upset/jealous that the rest of them were sympathetic with/for MJ concerning her father/chaotic life, so much so that she decided to take that supportive moment away from MJ and turn it on herself by announcing the baby's gender (but only after admonishing them first).

This.

The way these shows are edited, it's not clear when Asa's announcement really happened.

Also, Asa mentioned that MJ manipulates with her emotional outbursts, and that might have played into her timing, if it wasn't the editing.

I think I have reached my limit with MJ she is just insufferable.   The only reason that she is riding so hard on the “bastard” issue is because it is a dig at Asa.  Who in this day and age use that word to describe a baby and ultimately what does it matter?  I don’t blame Asa for her feelings about it.

MJ and Tommie sighhhhhh. Run Tommie run.  I just don’t see them lasting. I have no words on that immature BS list of reasons  not to get married MJ  gave.  I think MJ is only with him because he loves her not because she loves him.  He fulfills her need for sperm donor  - We’ll get married once I know I’m pregnant – WTF?!?!?  IF YOU LOVE HIM then you would marry him baby or not.

And I bet dollars to donuts that if they were to get married and have a child (in whatever order) I foresee a divorce. Because once MJ has those two titles under her belt (mother and wife) the bloom will unfortunately fade from Tommie and he will suddenly not be the "man" she thought.   For MJ Tommie is a means to an end and will become roadkill.

The scene didn't look chopped or edited to make it appear as something it was not, you can see that MJ's face is still wet from crying when Asa cuts in. Asa has done this before, especially when it comes to MJ, she resents when anyone gives MJ positive attention or emotional support, MJ/Asa do this to each other, which shows me Asa is no better than MJ. As for MJ manipulating the others, Asa manipulates just as much but in a different, Persian Priestess, way. And both of them knock the other down fighting for a space next to Reza's colon!

To be blunt.... Fuck off MJ. She keeps talking about a bastard baby to take a shot at Asa. That is beyond disgusting! I don't Care if MJ was crying,  is Asa not supposed to talk about the sex of the baby because MJ was crying again?  If I was Asa,  I'd be pissed that some of these people infer that my child is a bastard. That is not what friends do.

Asa is pregnant for the first time, I'm sure many woman act like they are the first and only to get pregnant. It's just how some  women act (actually a lot of women).

Mine too.  She was married at 26 had her first child at 27 and had a child every five years and her last was at 47.  I wanted to know how she DID NOT get pregnant between children considering it was the 1930s.

When my grandma died, my aunt choked out that my grandma "had so much life left to live." We were all like "No, she didn't. You were born when she was almost 50. She was in her 90s when she died. She really didn't."

Asa is never as candid with the group as they are with her or each other. I'm a little shocked that she came back this season because you could tell reciprocity was going to be an issue this season just based on last season's reunion. She said that she's not putting Jermaine or the baby on the show, which is fine. However, she's got precious little to offer viewers besides that. Her art is immature, superficial, and laughable. I commend her success in business, but I don't just want to watch Asa kaftan photoshoots, fashion shows, or opening her boutique. Also if she was even the least bit capable of taking others into account, she'd know that viewers have been clamoring for a cookbook/entertainment book for years on this and many other sites, but instead she publishes her "find your inner goddess" claptrap. It's not that I'm fully against her businesses being her primary story, but I need some variation. It's been Asa kaftans for at least 3 seasons. I need some variation. Next season could be writing her cookbook Entertaining Tehrangeles Style: A Guide to Global Glamorous Persian Pop Hospitality. She could expand to housewares after that. I'm not averse to business as a storyline, but the minute and negligible advancements of her businesses from season to season do nothing for me.

I agree that MJ is doubling down on the bastard issue because she's jealous. On the off chance that Reza and Adam actually adopt, she's not going to call that kid a bastard even though that child will likely not be born during a marriage. Additionally, we know how thirstily MJ is in copying Kim Kardashian. If MJ ever had the occasion to meet Kim, I'm fairly certain that MJ wouldn't be insistent on asking about the well-being of the bastard North West.

Tommy loves MJ and all things considered, he's a pretty good guy. If she had any sense, she'd be working with him to help them achieve that the life they both want.

Reza said the moms were friends in Iran OR became friends once they moved here.  Their families are friends and Reza and Destiny talked about running around when they were fat little kids.

This is something that I say about my own upbringing, but it's also true of other immigrant communities in the United States, "we were ethnic together." Your parents may or may not have been especially close in the US or in the country your family emigrated from, but they've found themselves in this new place and have formed a community. Your kids may see each other at parties 4 or 5 times a year. They're not super close, but they aren't complete strangers. My family is from Nigeria. There are a handful of decently well-known Nigerian Americans that I knew growing up. We're not friends, but we are familiar enough with each other. So I say "we were Nigerian together." That's the sense I get with Destiney.

I agree that MJ's and Mike's comments about Asa's baby being a "bastard" are hideous to say the least but that doesn't excuse her, Asa's, cloak and dagger act about "sharing" her "real life" with them", she has been pulling that stunt since the show premiered. No matter what, MJ is going through something that is difficult for most people, the decline/soon to be death of her father (the only loving/supportive parent she has) and Asa hasn't shown an ounce of sympathy for her. And, seriously, what did Asa expect after last season when she called out both Mike and MJ for "not being honest and real" about their lives?

Asa first had to belittle all of them, for not being a "good friend" to her, before she shared the gender of the baby, IMO, she hasn't been a "good friend" to any of them either.

Pretty shitty thing to do Asa. Freezing your eggs then going with MJ, who's just starting to explore IVF, all the while keeping mum about your experience while you wheedle info and emotions out of MJ. That's just cruel and selfish.

Bitch!

It is such a petty thing to do, really petty, and exposes just how much Asa hides her own real life from we, the viewer, but also from her co-stars on the show. She is all about exposing their weaknesses to build herself up so she can make herself look better than them on the show. She is not a nice person by any stretch of the imagination IMO.

Off the subject of Asa and her embryo's (I personally don't give a rat's ass how she got pregnant), I have to say that when Reza started his crying shaky voice routine at the dinner I just wanted to punch him in the throat! Not an ounce of sympathy for that man.

Oh, and MJ, apparently you never did get pregnant the very next month. So shut up with your meaningless high school ideas and just go straight for the in-vitro treatments. Times a wasting.

MJ - needing a kidney and needing a baby are not the same.  And, only being willing to marry Tommy if he knocks you up, but otherwise refusing to consider marriage because he eats hard candy, smokes around your dog, and likes the Mets ...  I have no words for your ignorant ample ass.

GG - I doubt your Jewish boyfriends's parents are so worried about your Muslim roots as they are about your terroristic proclivities.  You've shown yourself to be one scary fucking bitch, with a penchant for knives.  And tattooing his name on your body after 2 months of dating isn't exactly making you look any more stable or sane.

Asa - le sigh.  You never change.

Boys - don't think you're off the hook; my hands hurt and it's past my bedtime; that's all.

MJ is crazy and I think she's in deep, deep denial about the state of her father's health. Of course, thank God, I've never had to deal with that sort of thing, but he looks like he is suffering from way more than the "mild stroke" she describes. Tommy's not my cup of tea, but he loves her and she needs to shit or get off the pot. I think she must have been totally drunk when offering up that list because it made no sense. Eats hard candy?

I also doubt Shalom's parents would appreciate the tattoo. Isn't that taboo in the Jewish faith? He was gracious about it but also made it clear he thinks that was kind of ridiculous. GG: the boys warned you!

Shervin cracked me up when MJ was saying how all she has to do is ovulate and fuck and voila, she'll be preggers. He was like, No! That is so not going to happen, girl.

Asa is a sanctimonious cow and I bet she's dying for Jermaine to pop the question. Do you guys think he will? I have absolutely no idea.

Denial is not uncommon when a parent is facing death like MJ's father was at the time. I agree, she needs to either marry Tommy or let him go.

I don't think JJ will marry Asa, if he hasn't asked/married her after 7+ years, it is unlikely that he will now.

Is it me or has the food porn sucked this season.

What food porn? I remember if someone was just stopping by they'd put out a spread in beautiful dishes. Nuts, apricots, dates, cheeses, crackers, and dips. All would be on tablecloths tablescaped. Now someone is lucky just to get a glass of wine. So much for showing off their cultures. They've gotten lazy about it or just don't care about the castmates they have into their homes.

I don't know that I'd even want to eat in MJ's place. Doesn't look sanitary.

The veil (or should I say burkha) has been lifted and Asa's true colors are finally showing. She can no longer hide behind the facade of Persian pop priestess espousing ideals of love, acceptance, peace and unity. It was utterly telling that Asa could not even feign a few moments of sympathy for MJ during the dinner at House Number 3.  Instead she whips out her phone to take pictures of her food while MJ is in tears.

Asa has never been my favorite but I must have been one of the few that truly believed she came from a good place and always wanted harmony for their circle of friends. I don't think so anymore. That bitch probably doesn't have a genuine bone in her body. I'm willing to bet she had IVF treatments from one of the frozen embryos.

I've always found Asa's over top top artistic antics amusing (for example, I was cracking up the first time she did her talking head interview with the gold necklace over her face) but her inauthenticity is now vexing. I won't be sad to see her leave the show.

Despite knowing what it is like to be ostracized as he indicated in his histrionic yet all-too-familiar crying speech, Reza has done exactly that to almost every member of the group except Asa (who might actually deserve it). Has he learned nothing from his childhood? That man is utterly loathsome in carrying on the cycle of emotional abuse.

I agree, each season, Asa reveals just enough, accidentally though, that she isn't what she pretends to be. Asa is Reza's number 1 sidekick when he goes after someone!

Nahhh, Asa is as bad as MJ, worse at times IMO. As an example, last season, Asa went to the hospital to watch GG get a chemo treatment for her RA, she even spoke with GG's family/the Dr. while there but then she stood by Reza when he called GG a liar and a hypochondriac about it and she never corrected him or told him to stfu, instead, she helped him pounce on GG even further. Which makes her just as nasty as Reza, who is the worst of them all. Also, MJ wasn't the one telling other to be "real, honest" about their lives while hiding her own, that was none other than Asa herself. LOL

As I said, FOR ME mj is insufferable - imo her poor-me routine is too much, and she is obnoxious, from attitude to clothing to filthy apartment. I'd like to see her wearing one of Asa's kaftans and sitting in a therapist's office!

Amen.  It almost sounds more like if he can't actually impregnate her, she wouldn't date him after this.  Talk about twisted logic.  "I like him enough to get pregnant and married, but I hate that he smokes around the dog, eats hard candy, and likes the Mets."

I'm hoping this is MJ's attempt to be cute and to have the will she-or-won't-she marry him storyline.

I must not pay good attention to these people. What were Mike and MJ being fake about last season? The only thing I remember is Mike pretending he wasn't a hoe.

Asa didn't get to specific if I remember correctly, her comments were about Mike's divorce and blaming MJ for what Vida said about her, Asa, on WWHL. It was more of a blanket statement against them. She basically called them out for things she herself does, not sharing her real life on the show.

I don't like any of them but I find Asa and Reza to be the most insincere and fake of the group. I find the "Persian Priestess" act as phony as I find MJ's feet to be filthy! LOL

I don't get Asa.  If she doesn't want to open up.  If she doesn't want to share her life, then what the heck is she doing on a reality show?  She needs to get off the show and become the Virgin Mother, or whatever she wants to be.

I didn't like MJ saying "bastard child" at all, but fuck, Asa acts like she's pregnant with the second coming.  I was glad Mike defended MJ from nasty Asa and even GG defended MJ.  Asa needs to STFU and get the fuck off this show.

So Asa already froze her eggs/embryos and then lied to MJ about doing it.  I don't believe it was "au natural" at all, unless by "au natural" you mean "au scientific."

To me Asa seems like someone doing the show to promote her business - thus, the wardrobe of mostly kaftans - but she also wants to protect the Jacksons from unwanted press. She may be a little aloof - but also very aware of manipulative, untrustworthy people. I'd rather go to dinner or travel with Asa than most of the others because she doesn't behave like a rude, drunken slob.

She didn't have any "businesses" when the show first started, she introduced her "diamond" water 3 - 4 seasons ago (it failed) as her first try, then started the kaftan business the following season. JJ doesn't have to be on the show, that is his decision but that doesn't mean that Asa can hide that she is in a long term relationship, like she did for years. Asa has no business calling out anyone else for what they chose to keep private when she keeps so much of her own life off camera as well.

True, Asa doesn't get drunk but she helps wind the others up so that they act out. As for going on a trip with her, don't let her make the plans because you will find that the most interesting parts of the trip are for her only and you are excluded (like she does the rest of the cast).

There was no break, no editing at play there, MJ's face was still wet from crying when Asa interrupted them to first admonish them for not being her "good friends" and then to make her announcement. Even in her TH, filmed later, she says that she had no sympathy for what MJ/her dad were going through. Imagine how Asa would flip if MJ said that had it been Asa going through this with her mom.

It was a miracle of editing.  That scene of her saying the sex came out of nowhere.  Continuity and Bravo and not very cohesive.

The part the bugged me the most was MJ saying she was drinking to excess because she was saying good bye to her childhood.  Girl is 45.  45!

Paid advertizing - but she's the one getting paid. Not a bad gig, if you can get it.

If that's the case, Asa should have said, "damn straight," instead of getting all upset.

Still can't stand the Holy Mother Asa though.

Bethenny admits that she uses the show to promote her SG crap, that it is the main reason she is back on it.

Asa has always been on this show to promote Asa. First, it was her music, which went nowhere.

Then it was diamond water and her art. Her art went nowhere and she designed her diamond water bottles too tall to fit on grocery shelves. They have gone nowhere. Finally, it's Asa Kaftans and her dumb book, Golden: Empowering Rituals to Conjure Your Inner Priestess. Her Kaftans are successful. Her book...

The woman has never been candid or forthcoming, but expects others to be. It's unbelievably hypocritical.
