Also, why is she [Kail] wearing my grandma's shoes?

lol

Kail wore those shoes because she couldn't find high heels in Hulk size 13.

I am also baffled, and wondering how she doesn't understand that we know how metal cans work!  Unless she had a fire going in the back yard, and she put the soup cans on top of the fire (like I used to do at camp), there is no way to heat up soup when it is still in the can.  Did she heat it up and then put it back in the can?  And why would you do that?  The heating up didn't happen.

Exactly. If she heated the can in a pan of water, the label would have been wet and falling off. She is full of shit as always.

Omg, I tried to post this picture too! She looks ridiculous. And I'm sorry, but I don't think she looks good in that black dress either. She doesn't look fat in that dress but no one wants to see your 2 kids saggy boobs. If that's after dr. Miami, yikes.

Rupauls Drag Race is life.

Hahaha Her nipples and piercing on full display in that red shirt was traumatizing!

It's also entirely possible that the creeper overlapped his women.  She may not have known about Jenelle for the first month, etc.

oh, she knew, Jenelle posted it all over IG and fb and it was all over the blogs and gossip sites, there's no way she didn't know. And we all know Jenelle moves FAST in relationships and they're pretty much joined at the hip after they meet since Jenelle likes to spend ALL her time w/her new guy.

Exactly! We know basically nothing about her! That's my point, so for all we know, she got physically crazy w/him in the car and then that's when he pushed her out. And the fact that she filed it a month after he'd already moved on w/Jenelle is what makes me skeptical of her version of events. It just doesn't make sense to me that a woman who claims she's afraid of a man would file a protective order against him a month after he's already moved on. If you're so afraid of him, you should be thrilled that he's no longer focused on you and forget about to protective order and just be done with him bc he's done with you, anyway.

Being with Jenelle doesn't mean he's moved on from his ex. At all. Many abusers stalk their exes, whether they're in new relationships or not.  And I'm guessing she wasn't just worried about protecting herself, but her SON as well. Who would want their child to be raised by a man who was capable of inflicting that much damage on a pregnant woman??? I wouldn't want him to sit next to my kid on the bus.

And I apologize, I confused Nathan and David's names in my post above. I meant to say was DAVID wasn't the one who was as explosive, I see him as  more of a seething, controlled abuser.

As for Leah, I think she desperately always needs a man.  She's just been better at hiding her dick from the MTV cameras.  She needs dick so much she usually has two going at the same time.  Again.  And again.  And again.  She's basically the gif with a girl getting hit with hotdogs in the face.

I think Leah equates sex with love. I remember her complaining the Cory never did it with her. I think maybe this was given as a reason for cheating with Robbie? Either way, poor Cory was super tired from working all the time; it didn't mean he didn't love her. But she craves that constant male attention, constant affirmation that she's loved and desired.

With Kail, I think she may actually really enjoy sex and want to have a regular partner, but with Leah I think it's more about making her feel loved and wanted.

Don't get me wrong, I think Nathan is violent and controlling, so I'm not saying he's an angel, but he also lets it show... again not good in any case but in my opinion better than David who seems more calculating in my opinion. You can tell when David makes his little jabs when Jenelles talking (like about custody, or the baby announcement) that he's angry, but he's controlling it... at least on camera, but it's the kind of angry that one day is going to snap, not like he just knows better than to get too angry on camera.

Im also one who looks young, I'm 34...but nobody ever guesses my age close. Lately it seems everyone assumes I don't have kids because I look young. It's true I don't have kids, but it's a sensitive subject and I'm almost old enough to be unable to have kids, so when people refer to the future "when I have kids" it bothers me (but that's a whole other rant). Ironically I'm posting about looking too young to have kids in a post about young mothers lol.

Leah has definitely aged the worst but if you look at it she has almost all of the risk factors for skin aging badly: tanning beds (she did a lot in the earlier episodes she even worked at a tanning bed place), smoking, drug use, stress (yes I'll give her that... her life is stressful between Ali and the stress she creates herself) most of the moms have some of those but not all.

If you look young, chances are, you have young genes/you're aging slower, so you're clock isn't ticking as fast as you think :) My mom looks really young, too, always did and she didn't have me until she was 36 and my sister until she was 38. So you got time.

As for Nathan showing his rage, I don't necessarily think that makes him less dangerous. It just means he has less self-control. It could be that David is more camera-conscious or it could be that David really just doesn't have as bad of a temper as Nathan. I'm not familiar enough w/David's personality to assume what I don't know.

Whether she knew about the Jenelle and Dave relationship has no bearing on her being abused by David. David doesn't have to publicly assault Jenelle to be an abuser. DV happens far too often behind closed doors. Even Nathan didn't assault Jenelle on camera, but the MTV crew were privy to hearing something going on inside Jenelle's house to the point they feared for her safety and called 911. Nathan has now been accused three times of DV by Jenelle and his former girlfriend. There are varying kinds of abusers. There is no typical abuser. In public he or she may appear to be caring to their partner and family and may only be abusive when others are not there to witness the abuse. It is not always physical. Someone can be threatening and intimidating without laying a finger on their victim. What David is exhibiting, IMO, is intimidation and control. He is slowly taking his victim away from her friends and family. He is trying to take over the role of father for a child who already has a father [Kaiser].  He is trying to inhibit Jenelle from having contact with Nathan. He puts himself there front and center in Jenelle's life, not as a protector, but as a controlling asshole. He will determine how many kids they have. He will decide where they will live. He will tell Jenelle when she can talk to her mother and exactly what she can say. He was clearly behind the idea of Jace being given his last name. It is all about power. David is devious.  I see him using a pattern of behavior to establish and maintain coercive control over Jenelle. I see him possibly using looks, actions or gestures to make Jenelle afraid. The belittling, degrading and name-calling he does to Jace and Kaiser, who happen to be children, is a huge red flag of his mentally abusive behavior. If he does that to children, who is anyone else? David is an emotional and mental abuser, that is just as bad as a physical abuser.

Don't look at his personality. Look at the behaviors and actions he has committed thus far and his prior criminal behavior.

I guess I just have to believe that the judge had far more information available to him about the situation than we do (rightfully so, as the ex and the child are not part of this reality tv circus), when he made the call to not allow the creeper to have contact with either of them.

As someone else said above, I agree that you lose no matter which horse you back in the David/Nathan fight.  Neither one is a responsible adult and I wouldn't want either around any child I had.  I wouldn't want to be around either one, either, but I can't really think of any of Jenelle's life choices that I would actually emulate, so I'm not sure that's really a surprise.

Let's also not forget Jenelle is also an abuser. She has had no shame getting into physical altercations with various people including Nathan and his ex girlfriend and the countless girls she has been accused of assaulting over the years. But the biggest abuse is the mental and emotional abuse she puts her kids through on a daily basis.

Aah, don't fret yet.  I know people who have had unplanned pregnancies quite late.  One at 39 (and this was 30 years ago), and another at 49.  Both of these were their first babies!  And last.  :-)

Is it possible she just put the can on an electric burner?  Gas burner would burn the label, I assume, but maybe electric would work.

That cold soup looked gross, but why?  If it starts out hot and cools off, it's entirely likely somebody will keep eating it.  Every once in a while I'll be eating french fries that have cooled off and I'll think, "If these had originally been served at this temperature I would complain."  Yet I keep eating them.

If you watch the scene, you clearly hear Leah pulling the pull tab off the can as the scene opens up showing her home. Then, you can see the top of the can next to Leah's right hand.

No, Leah did not cook that soup.

It showcases the lazy nature of Leah again. We are not talking about a single mother working her ass off at two jobs, going to school, and doing it all on her own, and coming home tired and needing to feed her children, although plenty of single parents would at least heat the canned soup regardless if they are tired from a long day.  Leah's job is a SAHM. Heat the fucking soup!

Here is the screen grab of Leah with the lid of the can near her right hand which shows she had just opened the can and then poured the contents out. The big spoon is for the noodle soup she served the other girls. Ali got the cold Chunky Soup. Is that a soda bottle behind Leah there?

From personal experience I can say that you have to apply in person for a protection order. Didn't he send her into pre-term labor? She may not have been able to apply for a month.

Nathan and David are both vile, disgusting human beings. Trying to decide who is worse is like trying to decide if you would rather be burned with hot oil or the flame itself. Janelle is no peach herself and is attracted to people as bad as she is.

How?

  • You can't stick a can into a microwave.  So, we can rule that out.
  • If she filled a pot with water and then put the can of unopened soup into the pot, the can label would have boiled out once heated.  Ruled out.
  • Doubt she poured the soup into a pot, heated the pot and then poured the soup back into the can.  Ruled out.
  • Also, if she somehow heated the can, wouldn't the can be too hot for her to carry/hold and pour into pours?

She was caught again being lazy.  The scene starts with the can lid right there next to her as she pours the cold soup into the bowl.  Then, she pours more of the can into Ali's bowl.

Right. Splain showed a photo above of the scene. Thanks for sharing the video. I didn't even know until Splain pointed it out that you can hear the sound of the lid being opened right before the table scene was shown.

You know, if Ali wanted cold soup, fine. Why lie about it? Many of us have mentioned eating cold things out of a can. I just find it lazy on her part if she did it NOT because Ali wanted it that way, but that she has gotten her kids so accustomed to eating shitty food and cold food because she is a trifling mother who can't bother to do the basics. How can you claim to be a SAHM and claim to be so overwhelmed and stressed when you are not doing anything that shows you are a busy mom?

For me, it wasn't so much that it was cold (and many have talked about their weird/gross food quirks), it was consistency.  Mini Leah's bowl got nothing but broth and congealed fat from the top of the can, then Ali's bowl was the thick sludge and meat from the bottom. You could see the difference when she poured it. Shake that shit up, at least. Jesus God, Leah!

She totally shook it up, right after she heated it and poured it back in the can.  You just didn't see it because of that dern MTV and their editing!  They're trying to make her look like she's serving her kids room temperature canned food!

Echoing the "don't fret" sentiment! I've already mentioned I had my first at almost 41. We tend to cluster in certain areas (mostly on the coasts) because...well, I don't know why, but there tend to be more on each coast. :) Back in the day, my grandmother (born in 1905) had her last at 46 years old. There is so much talk about difficulty getting pregnant and complications with the child. It's still statistically unlikely that your pregnancy and child would be anything other than perfectly normal.

I agree, please try not to worry @leighroda! I was 37 and 40 when my kids were born, and before I got pregnant with my first I was FREAKING OUT because everywhere you look you see the "statistics", blar blar blar. I bought into it the first time because I didn't know better. Hearing those things can feel defeating and so final because you take it as it actually does apply to YOU personally. It only took two months of trying with each kid and both pregnancies and babies were completely fine. Even when I first went in for a my first checkup the doctor looked at my chart, then looked at me and said "Oh, I see you are of advanced maternal age." WELL. It'll be ok. :-)

Yep, I'm on the coast too!

The soup discussion is cracking me up. Leah can't fool us!

Here's the thing, I'm sure all of us at some point ate our own equivalent of cold soup from a can. Or have had lazy, unhealthy feeding moments with our own kids. It's no big deal, none of us are perfect. But with Leah, it's ALWAYS like this. If it's not cold soup from the can, it's burned ravioli at midnight. Or frosting direct from the tub (but at the table). Or Cheetos and Mountain Dew. Or nothing in the fridge to pack for lunch. She has no job, she makes more money than most of us, why can't she  ever feed those poor kids a healthy, home cooked meal???? Get em delivered if you can't be bothered to cook, but damn. Do something.

I very much believe this is quite the norm at Leah's house. For someone who has nothing else going on, there is no excuse for this behavior.

I don't think a good meal has been served since Germy cooked up those BLTs when he slapped Leah with the bacon.

Let's not forget the lunch meals from the gas station. To reiterate my comment, this is the norm, and it is fucking sad. I am sure many of us can relate to having had quite a busy day when we were tending to little ones. For many of us there was work, school, whatever we had going on in our lives. Running to the local fast food place, grabbing a pizza to take home, serving left-overs, pouring out a can of pasta from good ol' Chef Boy-Ardee with some slices of bread, quickly defrosting something from the freezer and heating up a can of corn as a side, or buying frozen food items such as corn dogs or something similar. We can all relate. It was probably a one day out of the week where we resorted to doing such things. Maybe twice a week. But, as you pointed out ghoulina, it is always happening with Leah, a person who does not work!! Who can forget the cold smores she served her kids? The kids' chocolate wasn't even melted! It was hard. If you cannot even heat up a can of soup or melt the chocolate for smores, you are a major fuck-up.

Leah's laziness goes into other territory as well. Her house is unkempt. She cannot bother to do the laundry. She has clothes a mile high in her garage. She has the jalopy mobile filled with trash, boxes and junk.

The girlses had become accustomed to grabbing Lunchables at the gas station when Leah would stop there to get gas in the morning on the way to driving the girlses to school. Rather than make them a school lunch, she bought that stuff there. Gracie mentioned hating the school lunch food on the drive to school. Of course she hated the nutritious lunches at school. I surmise Gracie has grown accustomed to eating Lunchables at home due to Leah throwing them at her girlses at dinner time.

Growing up, I ate the Spaghettio Os, the mustard sandwiches, the cold hot dogs, the occasional kids' tv dinner, sardines, but that was to tide me over until dinner time. I would go home to an empty house and I had to fend for myself if I was hungry. It wasn't my main meal. It was a snack.

Yeah, as a kid in middle school my brother and I would heat up totinos pizza, spaghetti-o's, top ramen (oodles and noodles?) while we waited for our mom to come home and cook her homemade spaghetti sauce, chicken frigasse, baked ziti, meatloaf, etc., after working a long shift at work. We were growing kids that ate a lot, so we needed filler crap to tie us over until mom and dad got home from work to make us homemade meals. Leah's "homecooked" meals are the crappy (although still somewhat yummy) fillers my brother and I ate as snacks lol.

Regarding the gas stations, I don't think it is what you all are imagining, with a cooler of lunchables and some microwaveable sandwiches. Many of the gas stations have full restaurants and fast food options. Like you would think of a truck stop. One of the best fried chicken places ever is in a gas station in Ripley, West Virginia. Puts Churches and KFC to shame.

Sometimes they are fast food restaurants, but many sell their own food and meals. When they were asking to go to the gas station for breakfast, they weren't asking for some powdered donuts.

Here is one example. One Stop's are all over the region with different fast food restaurants in them.

I think for most of the Teen Moms in this series in particular.....they were never taught about how to prep meals or make food.  They are adults now, so it's no excuse....but I think they are just doing what they know and what they had as kids.  I was lucky growing up that I got to watch and help my mom growing up....making dinner from fresh foods and what have you.  For Leah, Kail and Jenelle in particular....they didn't grow up with real food on the table much, so it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that there is a lot of ordering out, processed foods and garbage being fed to their kids.

Of course....all three of them are now people of privilege so they could easily learn these skills or even pay other people to do what they never learned.  They don't have to continue the cycle of crappy food with their kids, but they are choosing to do so.

I am aware of how many gas stations offer fast food and other grocery-like food items. I don't have an issue with food items from a gas station nor do I think food items from a gas station are questionable. My point is Leah is a lazy bitch who has nothing else going on in her life. She has no excuse and plenty of money to ensure her girls have food in their home.

Gracie asked to stop by the gas station that particular morning because according to her there was NO food in the house. Leah told her to eat breakfast at school.  Gracie then said Cory and Miranda make them breakfast and then whined about her dislike for the school food. Leah snapped back that she isn't Cory or Miranda.

This episode was during the season when Leah was getting slammed for her not getting the girlses to school on time. Leah wasn't about to stop anywhere because she was flooring it to get her children to school on time. There is no excuse for her getting up late, but we know it is due to her drug use. Leah is trying to hide it. She can't buy food because her priorities are elsewhere, not on her kids.

You guys made me so damn curious that I went back and watched the scene, lol. As loathe as I am to defend Leah, she might actually be telling the truth. In the beginning, she's pouring the cold soup into a white & green ceramic bowl with a border on the outside. Behind her is what looks like a bookshelf at the top of the stairs. Addie's on the left with a sheer curtain behind her and no bowl in front of her. Ali's on the right with the twinkle light wrapped staircase behind her and a green plastic bowl on a white plate in front of her. She has a spoon in her hand and asks Leah to pour some in that (green) bowl, but isn't shown eating yet.

There's a quick split shot of Addie, curtain still behind her, sticking her hand into soup/sauce in an all white ceramic bowl on a black plate and then licking her hand before it cuts to Leah walking back to the table. This time she's carrying the white/green bowl on a plate, like you'd do if the bowl was hot, but she enters from a completely different place than before and none of the girls are in the same spots. To her left is Gracie with the living room behind her and a blue and purple ceramic bowl with ramen in front of her. To her right is some other little blonde girl with the same kind of bowl Gracie has and a mirrored cabinet behind her. Behind Leah is a wall/corner and a backpack on the floor. Addie no longer has a bowl, but in all actuality probably hasn't gotten her bowl yet because you can see the pull-off soup lid next to her but it's not there in the "earlier" shot where she's licking her hand. Now Ali's eating out of the green bowl, but she's directly across the table from Leah instead of next to Leah like she was earlier in the scene.

There's no way to know if Leah ever took that green bowl from her and microwaved it too, but (1) the scene definitely didn't go straight from pouring the soup to Ali eating it, (2) Leah definitely left the room with the ceramic bowl and came back with it on a plate and stood at a different spot at the table, (3) the soup can lid was no longer next to Addie by the time she started eating and (4) I really just spent part of my Sunday night writing three paragraphs about TM2.

And we love you for it.  I, for one, didn't notice all that.  Thank you for the correction because I just saw a cold ass can of soup happening.  Ha, so she can bitch freely about editing, this one time.  If she 'fills' like it.  ;-)

I think a lot of women cook the way their own mothers cook. I would bet dollars to donuts that Dawn did not have Leah in the kitchen growing up, happily baking pies or trying new recipes together. Maybe Dawn plopped cold canned food in front of her kids all the time, so Leah thinks it's normal. (I'm trying to think of any food that I would eat straight from the can unheated. Pork and beans maybe?) With Kail it's probably same thing and I suspect also Jenelle.

Leah has no concept of planning a meal, shopping for it, organizing the kitchen, and timing everything to be ready together. NO CONCEPT. Motherhood in general, running a household, getting bills paid on time, planning ahead (meals, passports, schools), organizing activities -- it all just seems to be too much for Leah. Last week she burst into tears because the school might not be open in time for classes to start. She broke down crying about it. smdh

I don't know, I don't think you have to witness someone else grocery shopping to know how to do it yourself.  It's really not hard.  I posted a similar sentiment about Catelyn and Tyler not knowing how to place a chicken breast in the oven and I was told that they never saw that growing up so they don't know how.  I just don't think it works that way.  I never watched my mom prepare meals but I have been able to figure out how to set the oven to 350 and place a piece of chicken inside.  Leah doesn't know how to get to the grocery store and then once inside, pick up items and place them in the cart?  These people are on their phones ok every scene practically.  I find it hard to believe Leah is unable to Google "dinner recipes" and then prepare one.  Leah is really fucking stupid but I think she knows that frosting from a can isn't a meal.  She's a piece of shit mother who doesn't care but it's not because no one ever sat he down and said "frosting isn't a meal but a sandwich is."

I took the canned soup scene to mean she dumped the soup into bowls, and then microwaved each bowl. They showed her walking from the kitchen into the dining room with 1 full bowl of soup, that I assumed had just been heated. Brings back memories of my university days... eating canned soup and not wanting to dirty a pot when I don't need to, just zap it in a bowl. To this day I cannot eat canned soup, bleh.

Oops. Didn't realize @luvly had just posted this above! Sorry.

I can attest as one of those people with no real cooking skills. My mom didn't cook growing up... I can function and make some simple things like mac and cheese, soup, green bean casserole (I know it's gross and sodium laden, but I love the stuff) and I'm sure if I tried I could figure out... but up to now I haven't. It's intimidating, and hard to cook for one person, I work 12-16 hours a day (I'm a nurse) so I'm often not in the mood to cook when I come home. Once I buy the supplies to make a meal it costs about what it would cost to get take out, there is no guarantee it will be edible so there is a chance I'd have to order take out anyway. The ingredients go bad before I can use them again, and if I did successfully make a meal, then I'd have to eat the same thing for a couple days... so that is why I don't cook at this point.  BUT a lot of my reasons for not learning up to now is that I am single... so I like to believe if I had more people to cook for I'd be more willing to try.

One of the easiest things to do is get a rotisserie chicken from any grocery store. Even Leah can manage that one. You can even eat it cold if you must. Throw some frozen veggies in the microwave, and there ya go. You can even heat up frozen fries or roasted potatoes. She's not that busy. I don't care how she grew up - she sees real life. She can figure out how to feed three little children with almost no effort. I hate when I see kids looking all disheveled and eating crap.
