I'm not a girly-girl, but I know folks that have concerns about doing things in the community that are far more important than a mani-pedi.

It's not something I would do now, nor would I have done it as a mom of young kids. The 'need' does not outweigh the risk to me.

Dereck and moustache don’t go together. Shave it off.

He looks like an 80’s porn star! I guess since he is on break they got to do all their special things together. Where were the kids, do we know?

In the picture it says kids are at the sitter.

I'm hoping Israel gets to go to school.  It is such a dilemma - the school situation.  So many kids only eat at school, schools provide child care, have mandated reporters.  Most parents don't want to/aren't equipped to home school in any way.  Hard to work from home, watch kids, and monitor their education.  I'm hoping the schools figure out a way to safely reopen, including the one he will go to.

I predict a nightmare of logistical issues for working parents of younger kids. Schools are talking about staggering hours and days spent in the schools, balanced with in-home online learning.

For Jill, who doesn't work and has a car, it might be a pain, but certainly doable.

Maybe after Christmas break, the country will be far enough along with treatments and/or a vaccine to safely have kids return to school. Fingers crossed.

That may be a bit optimistic as far as a vaccine goes. At least Sammy should benefit from school. Everything will likely be worked out by the time he’s ready to go.

Thanks I didn’t see the whole post. Sounds like it wasn’t a family member or sweet friend. Progress in the Dillard world.

I know you have all been patiently waiting to hear Jill's sunless tanner update..Here it is via her insta-story!

She is thinking of buying Beauty By Earth organic sunless tanner(never heard of it). She did take the recommendations to try Jergen's. So she went to Walmart and they were out of the lotion, so she bought the wipes. Said they were very orange and left streaks(showed us her arm). She also said it may be a little to dark, but it was the only one they had.  She said everyone told her to lotion up and exfoliate which she did, but claimed probably not very well. She said her elbows, knees and feet are good(I bought enough bleach for anyone who went where I did when she said that). So there you have it. I'm sure if she buys the organic one,  she'll update us on that!

Just got a news update from 2 local channels' apps on this and thought I'd share since people were asking about Izzy and the school year.

Bentonville's school district announced today that even if schools are open next year, all students will have an option of enrolling in virtual school instead. That was an interesting announcement since, as far as I know, the governor has made no decision or announcement about schools one way or the other or even announced a day for making an announcement.

That is not Izzy's school district--he'd be in Rogers--but I'm wondering if the other NWA districts (Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville) will play follow the leader with Bentonville on this. Bentonville has more money, though, since they get gobs of Wal-Mart dollars.

Jill's gotten nicer stuff from random strangers who send her "happy mail." An oversized t-shirt and take-out taco bell don't exactly say "wow we love you Jilly so Derick don't write that book!"

I wonder if Jill was able to muster a faint "yay" at this birthday present.

Jill's Duggar celebration seems right on par with everyone else's, with the exception it was in her home and not the TTH.

Note to Jill, of all the mainstream trends to adopt, leggings as pants should not be one of them. Leggings are not pants.

And what is kingdom mama?

Leggings as pants are ok as long as they stay in the house or in the gym.  Should there ever be a reason to leave the house in them, the top needs to cover the butt, IMO.  Even the skinniest chick can have dimples/cellulite down there that no one wants to see.

There is a blog called Kingdom mama, but I don't see any merch there.  She's an evangelical, but works as an occupational therapist, so she's got a job and an education.  She's also been married for more than 10 years and has two kids, well spaced; so I don't think she's quiverfull.  In other words, I don't think she's the purveyor of that particular piece of heinous clothing.  She does talk about 'seasons of life' and dating her husband, though, so maybe the kingdom mama thing is another part of that culture, a dumb one.

Her son attends a regular school although, I am impressed with all the extra educational/fun stuff she does with him at home and blogs about.  He also has an Ohio State backpack, so he is automatically a cool kid.  Her latest entries are a couple of years old, so she probably got too busy with the job and the arrival of the second kid to keep going.

Google Kingdom Mama tee shirt and you'll find a whole lot of stuff for moms going to Disney World/Disneyland; but not that particular shirt.

She could have had John David do their nails.  I'm sure he has the time.

I know she mustered a faint fart after eating Taco Bell.
