And, there is an interesting trick that I sometimes use when taking a picture and discovering something undesirable in the shot -- I move. I take the shot from a different angle so that they boots - or whatever - aren't in the shot. They are just so damn lazy. Pick up the boots! Move your damn ass, so that the boots aren't in the shot! It's possible without the Duggars he would have grown more comfortable talking to women. 3 hours ago, Heathen said: There is probably some fundie SAHD, or just a leghumper, who kisses a photo of Derelict at night before tucking it under her pillow. I take the shot from a different angle so that they boots - or whatever - aren't in the shot. Maybe that was the best angle that could be obtained without managing to include something even more distracting than the boots in the shot. I dunno. What I do know is that I've managed to miss capturing some pretty cute moments with my pups by fussing around trying to get them from an angle that doesn't show my empty wine glass on the end table or the tangled cord to the heated throw they look so damn cute snuggling on together. Sometimes it's just best to click away and let it be. If Jill or Derick had bothered to go move the boots, Sam might have dropped his mop and taken off and the moment would have been lost. You know, maybe that's what Sam was hoping for. The whole set up was actually a carefully staged scene ... Sam placed the boots where they would show in the picture of him adorably mopping the floor (a cleverly calculated stunt he knew would be photographed for propaganda purposes) just so that one of his guards would have to go move them ... he planned to trip the guard with the mop handle and make a break for it in the ensuing chaos! But of course his captors put no thought into the background of the photo, foiling his carefully laid plans. Too bad, Sam, it was a good effort. Better luck next time! 15 hours ago, cmr2014 said: Edited January 6, 2019 by Celia Rubenstein weird double post, sorry 34 Link to comment

Yes I could see that. Cathy looks genuinely happy with her grandsons and probably lavishes attention on them. Again losing BOTH your mother and father before 21 is a lot. I could be wrong, but I think that when Cathy reached out to her birth mother there was a lot of "choosing life" baggage that went along with it. I don't think her mother was willing to play along, and said something to the effect that "if it had been an option, she would have considered abortion." The narrative that Cathy had built up about a godly mother who "chose life" under difficult circumstances didn't play out as she had hoped which left her even more disappointed than she would have been if she'd never found her. The parent/child dynamic is really powerful and a lot of people never get over being put up for adoption. They may know, intellectually, that their parents did what they believed was best for them; they may have had happy childhoods and become successful adults, but the feeling of being abandoned by their parents never leaves them -- even in old age. Cathy has mentioned numerous times that she's excited to have grandchildren who are blood relatives. I think sometimes that the pressure on Derick and Dan to have children might be -- in its own way -- as powerful as the pressure on Jill and her siblings. I think that Cathy's need to have biological relatives may have played a part in Derick seeking out a Duggar bride. Certainly a Duggar would be more than happy to populate the world with as many descendants of Cathy Bynum as Derick chose. 37 Link to comment

floridamom January 7, 2019 Share January 7, 2019 The Duggars posted that photo of Sam 'mopping' the floor and captioned it that he was helping Jill and Derick clean. They are misleading because that house is not Jill's house. She has a linoleum light colored floor in her kitchen and that awful brown shag rug in the living/dining room. On another note, Jill's house is a mess. You can see it in those photos of Cathy holding Sam. Sorry to say no photo of Cathy hugging Izzy was posted. 1 Link to comment
