Josh & Anna Smuggar: A Series of Unfortunate Events

I agree with both of you.  I think a lot of his teenage behavior could have been headed off by, well, not being raised by Jim Bob and Michelle.  I think a lot more could have been headed off by early intervention.  But since neither of those were options, Josh is still an adult and accountable for himself.  It's the great paradox of the Josh situation - we've been told repeatedly that he just made mistakes and doesn't have a compulsion.  So what then?  He just chose to be a fillandering jackass?  Then why was he in rehab?  These people make no sense.

When you have no sense, you make no sense, I guess.

One wonders if she was joyfully available right from the start. I hate that she seemed to feel that she had to lose 30 lbs. to keep her husband from straying again

No doubt stress helped her lose weight and while he spent 6 months in Jeebus Jail, she didn't have to cook the crap he wanted to eat.

I know it's their beliefs, but still can't understand why Anna has to take responsibility for Joshley's wrongdoings. My son just had his wisdom teeth removed & was shocked when I told him the Duggar kids wisdom teeth removals were shown on TV.  He couldn't imagine that sort of thing was shown.  I told him they weren't shown  just walking in to the office, the cameras were all in their faces & mouths.  Remember the episode when Joshley & another boy (?JD) drank sweet tea  before removal when they weren't supposed to eat or drink anything & removals had to be rescheduled?  IIRC, Anna shared in or took the blame, that she should have read the instructions better too.  Good grief - can't believe she shared in the blame when he's a grown adult  & that they couldn't even follow the one direction the oral surgeon's office gives you - nothing to eat or drink 8 hrs. before procedure. (That was my son's instructions.)

I seriously need to get a life! I kept looking at my tablet all day and all evening yesterday. Then two things occurred to me :

-my forum friends gave better things to do

-recycled Duggar  headlines do not contain anything comment or snark worthy

I guess I really love the sense of community.

It seems Smuggar is indeed gearing up for a redemption tour.  He's criticized for not being on social media to man up rather than hiding behind his wife and family. If he spoke out, he'd still be criticized.  Damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.  If what they say about him not being allowed to have a smartphone is true, he can't participate in social media other than Boob approved/altered statements on the family's page.

This. Part of the reason I think Priscilla has stayed so slim after her pregnancies is because TFDW is into healthy living. They run road races and do a lot of outdoorsy activities. Compare that to Smuggar who downs donut cheeseburgers like they're tic tacs. I think when you're part of a couple you tend to adopt each other's habits. It's hard to maintain discipline when you're married to an indulgent sloth.

Who is this insider who claims Josh is tired of being controlled by BoobChelle?

He's a 28 year old grown-ass man, but keeping him from a smart phone is basically treating him like a naughty child. Yes, he's been a very naughty boy.  No one disputes that.

If Josh finally decides to Break Duggar, hopefully he can finally have a normal life. He saw a whole wide world outside of the compound.  I'm sure just getting away from his parents would calm him down once he knows he's finally free to live his own life.

Theoretically you are right, Arwan but he got in a shitload of trouble when he lived in DC.  His parents were not then controlling his internet viewing nor his strip club patronage.

I don't disagree.  The Duggar reach is further than the long arm of the law. When Jish was in DC, he left physically, but not emotionally. Emotionally, he was still living at home because he really couldn't function outside the Duggar bubble.

His way of separating himself from his nutball 'rents is first to take a job with their enterprises and then to get a reality tv show? Yeah, that's real separation from JB and M, all right -- so very different from everything he's had modeled for him. Plus, so realistic and responsible. Yeesh. I wonder which insider passed along this ridiculous tale and brilliant analysis. Do Amy and drunken hubby sit around dreaming these things up or is somebody else also feeding the bottom-feeding websites? Maybe Sierra has picked up tabloid talespinning as a side hustle?

I wonder what The Josh Show: Breaking Duggar would look like

  • binge eating
  • binge drinking
  • wanking
  • watching porn
  • having hookups
  • sleeping until noon
  • going to the beach
  • wearing a speedo around the house

Somehow, it would still be boring, watching our hero passed out faced planted in a pizza surrounded by beer bottles and Chick-FIL-a wrappers.

So basically a fundy Jersey Shore. Let's watch the Duggars do absolutely nothing! Oh wait...this might have already been done.

He really didn't stand a chance after not one but two scandals. Hamstrung and stunted, his options are:

  • own his own business
  • continue to work for Boob
  • get employed in Fundieland
  • write a tell all book
  • go on a redemption tour

The first option means he'd have to be driven and not owe any back taxes.

Writing a tell all book is difficult without a computer and the risk of being ratted out by a Howler or JSlave is too likely.

Just stumbled on this InTouch info on a sixth victim of Creeper. Didn't we sort of hear about this already? I barely pay attention anymore...

I really should not be drinking when reading this site.  Coke out the nose!  Picture it.  Wearing a speedo doing stretches.  Too much?

What are the odds for a third (and real) Josh scandal?

Josh has done his part to keep his family in the news. His next 'scandal' would be better as revelation that he needs to leave the damaging cult. He is becoming irrelevant very quickly.

Just wonder if they are going to have a soulful looking Anna talking about the difficulties her sweet family is going through. What a drag if they do.

Where are Josh and Anna living? Not in the big house with the family, are they? Jill's old house? Also , I read a rumor speculating that Anna is pregnant again. I really hope it's not true.

I'm pretty sure they are in the Pool House. The M kids are still a fixture at the TTH, so no way they are living in the house Smuggar bought when they were still in DC. Plus, Smuggar's "car lot" is the front yard of said house.

Isn't the Pool House, the house that DerJill lived in?

Nope!

DerJill got the McMansion, a huge starter home which i guess Jim Boob had to rent? (but they had to clean it a lot so no one was renting)

The pool house is a new place, which they probably got for filming J&JCO. (like talking heads and stuff.)
