Josh needs to ...

Move?

Volunteer to build clean water facilities in an impoverished area?

Keep his head down and shut the fuck up?

... file a law suit because no one feels bad for him?!

Does Josh really think a jury is going to feel sorry for him?

Besides that, three months after InTouch published the police reports, the Ashley Madison scandal came out.   It will be difficult to prove which scandal caused his reputation the most damage.  The burden of proof is upon him to do that.  Josh publicly admitted to adultery and to his addiction to porn.  He was so humiliated by that scandal that his family had to get rid of him and sent him away to Bible school for six months.  All he can say about the InTouch damage to his reputation is that he had to resign his job at FRC.  But, he would have had to do that anyway when the Ashley Madison scandal exposed him just three months later.

I hope the jury is furnished with a lot of popcorn when Josh takes the stand to be questioned by the defense attorneys.

This is what's delusional beyond belief. Furthermore, if the two awards-type juries I've been on are any indication, juries don't want to give people a lot of money even when they do feel sorry for them. I can only imagine that he's only in this for the money -- and that Jim Bob must be okay with this, thinking that an additional plaintiff will bring in more cash? really? really? really? and yet it's Jim Bob.....But I don't see how anybody can even imagine that a jury would find in his favor, let alone give him any cash. ....

And I'm pretty sure they're all going to be disappointed by the amount of cash they get. (Jim Bob the most, of course, since he's Jim Bob.) They probably can't get more from the municipalities than the amount those municipalities are insured for for the particular kind of damages involved here, can they?

I'm baffled that they were actually dumb and delusional enough to let him file this suit. I'd think you'd hit him in the head with a bat first to keep him stunned until it's too late. And I'm usually at the front of the line i declaring how dumb and delusional the Dugg parents are.

Plus, this certainly should make it clear to absolutely everyone that Josh hasn't really been sitting around brooding and feeling bad about his part in this mess. He's actually been sitting around feeling just as entitled as ever. Which, again, is kind of a shock, even when you despise these people as much as I do.

Now all I can think is that they have no grasp on reality at all.

The four sisters are going to have a hard time proving economic loss.  They still have the TV show.  They never had many speaking engagements, except when they were promoting their book in 2014.

Jim Bob and Michelle lost the most money because they were booted off TV and nobody but Gothard's organizations will invite them to speak and talk about what wonderful parents they are.  If they ever file a lawsuit about the release of the police records − which they will probably do if the girls win a lot of money − they would be suing because they weren't allowed to continue living a hypocritical public life and hiding the sexual immorality in their 19-kid family.  I can't imagine a jury wanting to reward them with compensation for that.

Reality is a slippery slope when you're talking about the Duggars.

I wish the husbands would grow a pair, a spine, and get some fucking dignity. Ministry my ass they are all grifters. I would never want my husband to relive such an embarrassing time in his life. Even if he was hell bent on doing it. I'd want my anonymity and to heal as a family. That would include licensed counseling.

If I knew how, I'd make sure every defense attorney on the receiving end of these suits had the links for these forums, FreeJinger, and all the others out there.

There is some impressive intel here and out there...it's a gold mine for the defense. I hope that they at least have a tech-savvy searching the internet.

I totally agree with you,.

As soon as they file their answers to the lawsuit, we will know the names of the defense attorneys for every defendant.  Then we will be able to send them emails.

People don't know much about this forum because it doesn't come up on Google when people are searching for Duggar information and the FJ forum often shows up for queries.  The people who run this forum don't know much about SEO.

Personally, I don't believe this at all. I hope it is true, but I suspect this story is JB trying to minimize the molestations as much as he can.  If Josh did more to them, I hope the truth comes out during this lawsuit.

This is what I don't get.   You just added ground zero to the lawsuit.  Or tried to.  That means that the person you've not allowed to be interviewed about the molestation is now going to go put his hand on a bible and swear to answer the truth to a bunch of uncomfortable questions.  So now, instead of managing the testimony (aka coaching) of four poorly educated and rather dim girls, you know have to make sure everything they say matches what he says.  It's going to be a bloodbath.  And why I'm sure Josh is a good liar, none of them have ever been under this kind of interrogation.  Somebody is going to get emotional, drop the family line and state the truth.

Now a good outcome for me would be for this person to get a ton of money. And the others a nice little honorary award. Wonder if that might wake a few Duggarlings up?

What I'm now wondering, and I apologize for being late to the party catching up, is to what extent Jill and Jessa were messed about by Josh.  Was it just mild touching over the clothes while we were asleep and mom told us what had happened to us because we didn't know it had happened.  Or was it more? Though it sounds like he escalated with Jinger and Joy, who were younger and smaller and likely wouldn't fight back or were easily bribed into silence.

I always am of the belief that the victim of such behavior should have their account believed.  From the emotional state of Jill, I can't help but believe they sanitized what happened to them under duress from KJB.

Exactly. Because if they try and tow the party line of "it wasn't a big deal, we didn't know about it, etc." There goes any monetary award for damages because they won't exist. Somebody's going to blow!

I believe Jill's emotional state during the interview had more to do with it being made public as well as talking about it publicly herself. I'm also guessing that Jill cries no matter what she's feeling, whether she's nervous, happy, sad, mad, etc.

I firmly believe that Jill's tears during that interview were completely fake. She kept digging her finger into her eye to get a few leaks. We've seen Jill cry for real and it looks very different from how it looked during that interview.

40 page filing by Josh.

"Plaintiff-Intervenor had no knowledge that the highly personal and painful details revealed in his confidential interviews would be disclosed to anyone except law enforcement and child services personnel. Indeed, he was instructed that his statements would remain confidential and not be released to the public. Plaintiff-Intervenor had a reasonable expectation of privacy in the statements he made to law enforcement under the U.S. Constitution, the Arkansas Constitution, and the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Act."

What interviews? If Josh gave an interview, it wasn't released. What kind of halfwit is this Storey fellow?

Josh never gave an interview. In the transcripts, J'Chelle and JB said they would bring him in for an interview, but then Josh lawyered up. Since he lawyered up, the department knew there was no way they would be able to charge him with anything because the statute of limitations would run out before they were able to gather evidence.

Exactly. His lawyer should know that.

I don't get the point of Josh confessing publically in a church and then being upset about the sly incident going public. If there was an interview, they've just laid bread crumbs on the trail.

(well, except for Duggar Principle One: We're God's Gift; Deal WIth It)

Now all I can think is that they have no grasp on reality at all.

I think that part of this reactionary anger from all of them is that what they perceived as truth - actually believed as true - was not perceived as true. The narrative the family- parent, perpetrator, victims - had crafted amongst themselves and BELIEVED was presented in terms much more familiar (and accurate) to normal society.

I don't like this family at all, but if I stretch, I can understand the girls' lawsuit.  By allowing Josh to join them, their motivations become more suspect and less sympathetic

Anyone who is thinking of getting involved in any of this should OBTAIN LEGAL ADVICE BEFOREHAND.

Since the Duggars like to spend time watching someone do something in order to save money and pretend they are experts, they should have Josh spend sometime in a courtroom in order to save money by pretending to be a lawyer in his own lawsuit. I mean he did say he wanted to go to law school. This way he could kill two birds with one stone.

A woman in Texas from the MTV show 16 and Pregnant sued a tabloid and lost.  The suit was deemed frivolous and she had to repay tens of thousands of dollars to the tabloid for their defense.

I'm curious if AR has similar frivolous lawsuit standards, because I wonder if Josh could lose so bad that he ends up writing a check.

It was just a silly musing.   While I could see going if open to the public, was close to where I lived, and I had nothing going on but I am not sure how anyone could get involved in a way that would require legal advice.

Why would anyone need legal advice before attending a public hearing?

I don't know. It's public. Reporting on what happened in a public hearing is nothing more than what news reporters do. It's public. IMO fair game.

And the best part could be that it'd have to be a check on Jim Bob's account.

So much for Josh not being allowed a smart phone, a video pickles posted made by David Waller shows the family surprising Anna's mom for mother's day and joshley is filming everything on an iPhone he pulled out of his pocket.

That video was embedded in the blog post I made yesterday. That's where I concluded that Smuggar a)still had a smart phone and b)still loved the camera. He was in TFDW's camera range filming while TFDW also filmed. No one else flimed, logically knowing that David would post the video or send it to them personally. I got an alert about it yesterday, but I'd found the IG post first, directing to the blog, which I posted.

I'm sure he's suffered enough and really deserved to go back to a normal life.

Anna, he doesn't have diarrhea,  he's masturbating to porn on the iPhone when he's in the bathroom for 20 minutes.

Weirdly, one particular pop-up ad keeps appearing ONLY in this board..."It Comes at Night." :shudder.:

Smuggar will never change, not without legitimate professional help, and likely not even then. He will simply get slyer about avoiding detection. Their "REAL marriage" will continue like this for the duration.

If he was that upset about the "material" being released that was "supposed to be confidential" why did he take two years to file a lawsuit about it?
