loveaux September 7, 2018 Share September 7, 2018 So some updates!! I made it through boot camp and made it through cuts to cheer at both the pep rally and the first game! I also have some serious abs going on atm and I've built such a great sisterhood (and we have a brother!) With the girls I cheer with. Ive been MIA because our schedule is so crazy-- We workout every single day, run a mile every day, and still have about 2 1/2-3 hrs of practice, but it's all really worth it. EricaShadows September 18, 2018 Share September 18, 2018 (edited) Had a bunch of weird dreams last night, including one where I was in Training Camp and we were somewhere watching Yuko give a demonstration of her martial arts skills, but it wasn't at the studio or even at the new location someplace. It was in a completely different location. I do remember that the person who had organized the display said Yuko was supposed to be extremely skilled in her discipline. Anyways, we were all watching her and gathered at one side of the area and part of another. Kelli was standing somewhat apart, but still nearby. I was off to the side and had sat down to start stretching. I thought I was completely out of the way until the organizer stopped Yuko and told me I was in the way, what was I doing, etc. I immediately got back up, but I could see Kelli frown and shake her head and knew that I was going to get cut at the soonest possible point and possibly not allowed to ever come back. The last part of the dream I remember was thinking of all the ways I could exit Training Camp gracefully before being cut. It was a combination of weird and normal which was unnerving, especially given all the other snippets of dreams I had last night. I might have slept hard, but I don't think it was restful. But I'm like you; I order what I want and just go on my merry way until next time. I hope I'm not offending any LuLuRoe fans here, but that company brings MLM brainwashing to a whole new level! My friend hosted a party (another friend of hers was selling) and she straight out told me not to worry about buying anything and there would be wine. I showed up and this woman had set up racks and racks of these clothes with hideous patterns. The biggest draw seemed to be the "butter soft" leggings and people were clustered around that table oohing and aahing over the supposedly rare patterns that were available there. I found out later that it costs about 6K to get involved in selling LuLuRoe and you get no say over the inventory that they send you to sell. Still, though, there were several ladies at the sale who were interested in opening up their own shop. Now, those same ladies are selling off the clothes trying to recoup even a small percentage of the cash they put out. But at least the wine was good. I think KC would be a better but personally (if he leaves Seattle) but don’t see him getting along we’ll with Jerry. But we’ll see. I went with a dear Dallas friend who lives in Seattle now (she rocked a Witten Jersey and some fabulous boots!) The Seagals were super fun to watch...I really do think they’re one of the best squads out there. There were also a ton of Cowboys fans, more than I’ve noticed for any other Seahawks home game. Could be because the colors blend, but still. Definitely America’s team! We chatted with a lot of peeps who had a story about growing up military and a DCC or player visit on a USO tour touched their heart, another guy who went to see training camp as a kid and had a good experience, etc. And a few visitors from Dallas too ?? I’m a bigger Hawks fan than Cowboys fan so had a blast. And a bit of a sunburn...full sun the entire game, it was bananas. Dak was one and done because teams didn't have tape on him for his rookie year. Now that they do, they know what to expect and how he plays. It's clear he had Romo in his ear, but that wasn't enough. Romo was good following through with a play that seemed to be over. While he did tend to choke in December, overall, he was a great QB to have when you needed a play. As a Redskins fan, I don't care either way...lol 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/87/#findComment-4700394
RedDelicious September 27, 2018 Share September 27, 2018 Carrying over from Finals, Training Camp and Social Media, where I said re: DB: Honestly I'll be surprised if she makes it through the entire 9 month contract. That's a long time to be in other parts of the world, if you've never lived away from your parents' home for any extended period time. Sure there are all these things that seem so great, but at the end of the day it is a DRASTIC lifestyle change. I'm still surprised that's what she chose to do. Yes it's true that kids do it all the time and thrive, but DB is a 21 year old who has never lived away from home and never done anything without her mother. So I really feel for her, because she seems extremely sheltered and very young. Leaving for 9 months and not being able to come back at all is pretty extreme. She has absolutely NO idea what's coming, and for that, I feel badly. Homesickness is a horrible feeling. I've lived on my own for 20+ years and travel a lot for work and I get homesick for my own house and my own bedroom/bathroom after a week on the road. I can't imagine having to live in a tiny cabin with a roommate and no window for 9 months. I know people who've done it, and it ain't pretty. VK is a slightly different story; she only just graduated from high school. But kudos to her for having enough college credits to qualify as a sophomore. It's nice to hear she did well in school. It will be interesting to see what she does. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/87/#findComment-4704578

Several of her mother's students have done this, so she has some idea of what to expect. Her parents plan on taking cruises, and with social media, she can FaceTime, Skype, whatever. On her Insta-stories the other night, she sounded so excited. This will be good for her. As a dancer, you have to do this kind of stuff while you are young and your body can handle it. Plus, she will be going to 27 countries, perform in three shows and will make so many friends, she will hopefully have no time to be homesick. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/87/#findComment-4704730
RedDelicious September 27, 2018 Share September 27, 2018 (edited) I totally get it and I know there are exciting aspects to it, but I also think reality is going to set in pretty quick :*( If someone has never been away from home, I can imagine something so drastically different would be a pretty traumatizing first experience. Skype and FaceTime are great, if one person is consistently up in the middle of the night to do it. Holidays are going to be particularly difficult. I'll think positive thoughts for her though, and I hope it goes well for her. I've been homesick and had to work on long trips and miss a lot of family stuff, and it feels like sh*t. I remember planning my friends entire bachelorette party and crying my eyes out in the airport because my work trip was extended and I couldn't come home to host it like I was supposed to. I had to let my friend down. I missed some graduations and I think a couple birthdays as well. I once spent Valentine's Day at White Castle in a snow storm in Buffalo freaking New York, when I had a boyfriend for the first time in years on actual Valentine's Day. Having to be away kind of left a mark on me, and that's why I feel the way I do. So if it didn't work out, I sure as hell wouldn't blame her for peace-ing out. It will be interesting to see what she does. Dayton has been away plenty and isn’t sheltered. Since the age of 11, she has been attending Ballet Intensives all over the US during the summer months, without me, for up to 6 weeks at a time. If I didn’t know people personally that have worked for RCL, we probably would be hesitant. She’s got a pretty good head on her shoulders. And for the record, the audition wasn’t a trigger reaction. It has been on her list of things to do, and it was the last on listed on their website at that time, so we jumped on it. 22 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/45396-small-talk-1-2-3-non-cheerleader-conversation/page/87/#findComment-4705432
