I recently started a  new job and I have noticed how many men have a ton of expensive sneakers. The men file police reports and insurance claims when the sneakers get stolen.  Every time I get a new file that mentions sneakers, I always think of Jeremy.  When my snark life intersects with my work life.

My theory is that Jeremy sells/trades sneakers as a side hustle, and that's where a LOT of his income is coming from. I read an article on the internet that says that this is a thing so of course it's true and I'm right, LOL.

Stuff that fell off the boat at the Port of Los Angeles? You might have something there.

Some guy who does videos on YouTube about his sneaker selling just got banned from e-bay because, let's say, his business model was questionable.

I would imagine that there are a lot of outlet shops in LA also.

I find it boastful to post a tour of 'our house'. If Jeremy wants to be the humble, Christ-like preacher, he should have stated right up front that they are grateful to Mr. MacArthur for allowing them to occupy such a lovely home free of charge while Jeremy is enrolled in his religious school. Instead, these two, IMO, were misleading the public who didn't know any better into assuming that that house was their house...one they purchased themselves and own. Disingenuous and misleading of them. They are show offs; nothing humble about either of them, really. Jinger is nowhere near the person she was in Arkansas.

To be honest, I thought Jeremy was actually more in his element when he was preaching about Josh Duggar on that podcast. Even though this was just about their house, I actually wasn't that impressed with how Jeremy carried himself in that video. Lots of "ums" and what not. I actually thought Jinger presented better, and I was really surprised at myself because I thought it would have been the other way around.

Ha! All this talk about sneakers and that guy is EXACTLY who came to mind.  His video explaining why he got kicked off of ebay was way way way too calm in his explanation.  If my $2-3 mil sneaker biz was kicked off of the ONE platform I was using... I wouldn't be using the same casual tone of voice as I'd use while talking with someone about the weather.

I feel like Jer probably buys from some of the shadier sneaker bros.  The WhatNot app (live auction) is rife with them, a lot of them promote their shows with "$1 starting bids!".  He might also sell to StockX, I know a few guys who do that and keep it on the low because they want people to think they just "happen" to own all of the more sought after ones.  But nah, you're all right, he doesn't think that far ahead lol.

I feel like Jinger could have a pretty successful reselling biz if she cared about putting effort into anything.  Even she could have a WhatNot show, with her built-in audience, man, she could make some good cash.  (wait, Jinger is the one who was "filming" something while thrifting, right?)

Some (all?) of the resellers who do YouTube videos are dangerous. They make a lot of money encouraging possibly foolish people to load up on a lot of junk that they will never sell and cannot afford to buy. They will show their own storage space with 1000s of items sitting there. Yes, they sell some, but look how much money is tied up. That's not how a retailer operates. They clear everything out, whether on clearance for cash or by donations for tax deductions.

Jeremy wouldn’t let Jinger take the lead on anything. And she’s too dim to handle a show by herself, imo.

I've never gotten the impression that Jeremy wants to be humble. Or would have the first clue how to be humble, even if he suddenly wanted to.

I don’t care about sneakers.

I do, however, like to follow the NBA. And since a lot of NBA fans are also sneakerheads, stories about the next limited-edition release of such-and-such shoe, and stories about a fan’s new custom shoe closet, do tend to cross my news feeds.

To my uncaring but not entirely uneducated eye… Jeremy’s collection and display aren’t impressive. He’s the equivalent of a dabbler in that hobby, and he’d have to put in a lot more time and money to keep pace with the men who draw attention for their shoe games.

With this, as with everything else, Jeremy is barely even doing a half-assed job. And of course it’s made all the worse because he appears not to be doing anything to support his wife and babies while indulging in an expensive hobby.

(Bolding mine.)

There’s no shame in half-assing a hobby if that’s all you have the time, money, or interest for. There is shame in letting other people support your family while sending all your money on your hobbies … and still sucking at them. Shame on so many levels.

Oh, absolutely. Thanks for refining that so nicely.

I get hobbies being a problem when they interfere with the ability to feed your kids or pay your bills, but other than that to each their own. I have no idea where the Vuolos income comes from, or if they receive a lot of freebies, but they seem to be living within their means.

At least Jeremy is not pastoring in some Podunk town, calling out his congregants for being too poor to buy him an expensive watch, like the dude in Missouri.

Yeah, he wants to be rich and the most famous celebrity in the world. Like Princess Diana levels of fame.

Whatever you think about Princess Diana, she did spend time with AIDS patients in the early days when it was still not a thing and publicly supported a number of other humanitarian causes. I've never seen JereME do anything to show any sense of charity, not even try to be a cosplay missionary/doctor  like his in-laws in Medicorps.

To borrow from Phillip Rod, Jer an Jinge seem to be "burdened" with showing off for the non rich, non LA folks and occasionally pontificating.

I remember that. It was huge at the time. So many people were terrified to even be around someone with AIDS she not only was around patients. But she held kids with AIDS.

He thinks he should get it automatically. Without any work or talent or anything.

True enough, but if Jeremy wants to be a social media star, and he wants his niche (or part of his niche) to be sneakers, he's not even close to the level he needs to reach.

If Jeremy just wants to share slices of his life--including sneakers, burgers, and fancy pens-- with his friends and family rather than fans/followers, rock on.

IMO, after all their failed attempts as shillers, I think they've settled in as the 'cool' face of the MacDaddians.

I'm also guessing the Vuolos still have many Duggar humpers that are fans/followers, like the way many middle to lower class folks are fans/followers of the Kardashians.

They did try the very special benefits club bullshit, but that didn't seem to offer much of anything. This effort can't be selling well.

And a drawing contest. 🧐 For that post Jeremy got 4 comments, Jinger a whopping 14, and that was put up 6 days ago!

Do these younger people even know what that used to mean?

Apparently, not.  😜

They probably don't know what playing pocket pool means, either!

It was in common usage in the 70s, and I always hated it.  I was glad years later when I discovered "shag", a middle-of-road word between making love and the f word.  Of course Brits find it hysterical when hearing the baseball phrase, "shagging ground balls."  😁
