I think miss whoops revolving door is a little rusty...she was crazy annoying today with yap yap yap...I like sara and Paula and can tolerate Sunni, but god shut miss whoop up.

I don't know if you guys caught the subtle shade that Sunny threw Whopie's way, when she was bellowing at her....lol I love the fact that the other ladies are not afraid of the movie star and push back when needed..I also think that is probably why they got rid of the other ladies  who were her sycophants....I also love how the producers are always trying to reign her in via the earpieces, when she is ranting and raving about some topic...lol Ms Whoopi is always fit to be tied when that has occurred..

Did I hear Sunny sneak in another "Miss Whoopi" today? There's no way any of those conversations during hot topics could've taken place if Raven or CCB had been at the table. Hope the decision makers took note.

Yep CCB is doing all this Hallmark stuff and now with FH but I get the impression she just wants to do it all no matter how little she gives to it..move on little girl with the big hair and gravel voice!  I hated that voice and was always yelling "clear your throat" and then talk if you must!

If they can just "poof" away Michelle, take her out of the opening and never say a word about her, CCB can just as easily never be brought back or mentioned again. She  lives in LA and always seemed like she was just visiting.

Out of M, CCB and Raven, Michelle is the one  I would have liked to stay.

Well said Celia & my sentiments exactly.  When I watch the show "upstairs", my TV is on my kitchen table & Whoopi's face is about two arm lengths away, but I'd still like to punch her in her big fat, ignorant mouth.  Just sayin'.

I love this group of women!!!

Dont forget I'm taking one for the team on Friday night. I'm going to see Whoopi live. If I dont post afterwards it may mean that I punched her in her big fat ignorant mouth. Lol.

When they were talking about porn and Whoopi made the comment about real people not being able to get in those positions, Paula the sex goddess said with a smirk, "Well, I don't know about your house."  Give it a rest Paula!

My bold.  From what I've heard, her shows have been well-received & described as raunchy.  Those who have met her were impressed with how "sweet" she was.  (I'm just sayin'.)

Holy Hell, I thought Whoopi was insufferable today!  I know she has an indoor voice because I've seen it on other shows but you'd never know it from her yelling and ranting on The Spew.

It did crack me up that Whoopi was astonished that YOUNG women aren't automatically empowered (I thought the topic was Not Hot since Sex and The City was basically all about women dating the same way men date.  A show that's been over for 12 years lol)   Equally ridiculous was Whoopi's rant about talking to your teen boys  about sex and porn without mentioning her own daughter had a baby at 14.

About pot-loving Whoopi. Wondering if being high on pot makes her shout and rant. I thought it mellowed the average toker. If she needs pot to chill the hell down, I say load her up before air time.

I think someone here would disagree with that statement and have proof. I think it was @NextIteration or another poster here, who told us on TWoP and here, how ungracious Whoopi was when she brought her mother to meet her; her mom won a meet and greet or something.

Anyhoo, back to the show. Today. Such UTTER BULLSHIT.  Allllll these months, Miss Paula has been saying what's great about Drumph is that he's not establishment, and that he "resonates" and is "authentic" so let him talk the way he wants to talk, because saying racist, misogynistic, bigoted, xenophobic things, and inciting and tolerating riots means he's REAL! He's a businessman! But now? Now that that skinny Ichabod Crane look alike, (NOT to be mistaken for MY TOM MISON) has been fired, it's all "oh, he wasn't establishment, no 'sperience, had trouble stopping Drumph from being Drumph! Like the latter was Ichabod's fault and not making sure that orange bloward arsehole could act more "presidential." What the FUCK EVER.

And I'm sorry, but I really wish Joy had come down harder on Sunny, when she was talking about wanting transparency and used the example if someone was reading a book about a terrorist, that automatically meant the reader was a terrorist? Really? So when I read about Rasputin, Mussolini, Stalin, Hitler, does that make me someone who practices black magic, a fascist, Nazi, murderer???!!!! To use Whoopi's phrase: WHAT THE HELL????!

And as much as I loathe Whoopi, I love her utter contempt for Drumph.

And was Paula trying to be "cool" when she threw out "You right!" to Whoopi, when Whoopi announced she was right that Ichabod wasn't the first campaign manager? Just STOP IT.

I dislike Taylor Swift for any number of reasons, so I am TRAUMATIZED that Loki Tom is now dating her. He was MINE, dammit! Oh. heh. Ahem

Where was I again?

Oh yes. I've been both: Alone and Lonely. First not by choice, but adapted to it well enough. Been through the latter the past year and a half as I went through surgery, chemo, etc. But I'm fine being, alone. Hell, I go to movies by myself and see nothing wrong with it. But whatever.

Oh yes yesterday. One reason I can't abide Paula is that she only plays Devil's advocate when Drumph is being "attacked." When she says or gives her opinion about Hillary, and the others try to play fair, by pointing out her biases, she gets shrilly and doubles down. Guess when it comes to who she supports or likes, that's the only time others should be "fair" or that others, instead of calling that Orange Baboon (apologies to real life Baboons) on his shit, they should "take the high road."

Me: STFU, Paula. Either you're  a journalist, in which case, you can't choose sides, or you have a side. Stick to it, and keep an open mind, like you say you do and don't resort to shrilly behavior when you don't like what you hear.

Carry on.

I totally agree! This panel is good. Just the right amount of back and forth, witty Joy comments and pissing off Whoopi. Paula gets her fair share of well deserved shut downs and there's actually intelligent conversation mixed in. After bitching about this show for years, this is the best panel in a while (for them). Whoopi is still insufferable but they all aren't kissing her ass, which I love.

As for Whoopi and her weed, I am a daily, long-term user and I am never so ornery. I have never seen a daily user act so bitchy, either. It must just be her nature :)

Pot has nothing to do with this... Whoopi is just an egomaniac who thinks she is smarter than everyone else in the room. I don't understand why she is this way on the View because she is usually very friendly on shows. It's not pot though..

I caught a little bit of Whoopi on Jimmy Fallon's show.  She told the same story about Rosie Perez calling and asking her to do that Broadway musical charity thing.  Same imitation of Rosie P's voice and accent, as she did on The View.

I agree. I like Sunny, but I don't love her like everyone else seems to, and the occasional kernels of stupid like this are why. Sara is okay, seems genuine. But the panel has undeniably been elevated with the two of them at the table with Joy and Paula. Even though I'm not a fan of Paula anymore, she is polished at least and there's a semblance of professionalism and preparedness coming from all four of them.

Did you notice that she was wearing the same beige/taupe/pale green bed sheet that she wore today on the show??  LOL.

How sweet was she bringing treats, plugging her contribution to the Broadway community supporting Orlando, together with her medical marijuana for women's problems (she's such a peach).

It was TribbleTrouble back in 2014.  The first quote describes how Whoopi treated her audience and the second recounts how she and her Mum were treated at a meet and greet:

Quote

ON 8/9/2014 AT 0:41 AM, TRIBBLETROUBLE SAID:

I'm sure they're all anxious about how the new season and the new panel will be received. That's understandable. But I wonder if Whoopi might not just be relieved to be able to cut loose a little after years of defending Elisabeth and Sherri, dealing with crazy, cranky Babs and being somewhat muzzled by Geddie et al, and she finally feels free to let some of that pent up frustration fly? Whoopi has a temper that I have no doubt she's been holding largely in check on set for a long time. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if they deliberately heated up the audition show(s) with extremely hot button topics like abortion to see how the potentials handled the fire.

Regarding her temper, I have a little story. Long story short, I met Whoopi back in 2011 and attended a speaking engagement she gave as part of a lecture series featuring prominent women. She was actually very entertaining and the sold out audience was happy and loving it. Relieved of all her View related constraints, we really got a glimpse of what made her so successful back in the day. At the end, there was a brief Q&A with questions submitted by the audience. The first thing Whoopi did when she started to speak was to warn those with delicate ears that she is well known for her admiration and frequent use of certain colorful words. So at the end someone in the audience asked, “Which is more difficult, getting through an entire live television show without swearing or sitting across from Elisabeth Hasselbeck?” It was so unexpected that the entire room burst out laughing and clapping, but Whoopi visibly bristled. It was clear she found herself having to defend EH often and it pissed her off. She said EH is one of the nicest people she’d ever met and then proceeded to chastise the entire audience at some length for basically being a bunch of jerks, intolerant of someone with an opposing viewpoint. She insisted that EH listens and *hears* what others have to say (unless they’re being confrontational with her), that EH had evolved greatly over time and that EH should be applauded for having the courage to be the sole conservative voice on that show for all those years. I had an almost irresistible urge to jump up and tell her that, wow, she doesn’t get it at all; that EH’s conservative viewpoint is/was NOT the reason viewers disliked her so much. That while EH may well be one of the nicest people Whoopi has ever met, that is most decidedly NOT how EH comes across on television. Plus, her voice makes dogs howl. But, I controlled myself and resisted the urge. It was an awkward and somewhat uncomfortable moment and all of the “whoop!” sort of went out of the room. Then Whoopi caught sight of someone in the front apparently trying to surreptitiously video record all or part of the event which made her REALLY grumpy (and to be fair with good reason – it was an uncool thing to do). Things wrapped up pretty quickly after that with Whoopi still clearly annoyed and the audience feeling emotional whiplash.

Quote

ON 8/9/2014 AT 2:32 AM, TRIBBLETROUBLE SAID:

Yeah, there's more to the story, but in a nutshell I was left feeling pretty unimpressed. Whoopi loves the adoration that she clearly believes is her due, but interacting with the "little people," not so much. The evening had been a gift for my mother who'd been going through a rough time. We got to meet Whoopi at a small private cocktail party prior to the talk. I didn't care at all for myself, but I'd really hoped that Whoopi would be warm and friendly to my mother. She wasn't. She was about as engaging as a cardboard cut out and looked as though she'd rather be any place else than with riffraff like us.

Today's talk about the Orlando shooter -  Paula still wants to blame his Muslim faith, because according to that church, homosexuality is a sin.  Paula brings up Ramadan, and that the shooter could have been killing gays to atone for his sins, blah, blah, she won't let go of the fact that it was religiously motivated.

Joy brings up that some Christian ministers have spoken out about homosexuality being a sin.  (I saw a clip of a Christian minister who said he was upset that ONLY 49 gays were killed in Orlando, it should have been more)  Suny says, yeah, in her catholic faith homosexuality is a sin.

So, after the break, Whoopster has to give a little speech about not ALL Christian leaders have preached hate.  And Paula says "Let's not paint all Christians with the same brush!"  Yes, Paula, that is the point!  Don't paint MUSLIMS with the same brush!

Paula also talked about how Trump's campaign is "self-funded".  Has she kept up with the fact that he puts a lot of his campaign money back into his own businesses?   his campaign holds events at Trump hotels, trump restaurants,  golf courses, even paying RENT on the home he owns - yeah, the Trump campaign rents a house from Trump for Trump to live in while he campaigns, as well as paying Trump to  rent his own airplane :  http://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show
Yeah, self-funded my ass!

And that BULLSHIT about Hillary yelling at a secret service agent who was covering up Bill Clinton's affairs!  Give me a fuckin break!

Religious motivation did play a part in the attack, as did easy access to automatic weapons, as did mental illness.  The Left grabs its issue:  gun control. While the Right grabs its issue:  Radical Islamic Terrorism.  I just wish there was a panelist who can say there were many factors that created this perfect storm of terrorism and hate.

Paula and people like  her will never ever stop being hypocrites.  It makes me so fucking furious.  If you are going to judge all Muslims by the act of one Muslim then all Christians need to be judged by the actions of one Christian.  And I still believe the Orlando shooter was committing a hate crime not committing some act to please his God.

And if Paula is going to continue to kiss Donald Trump's ass maybe she should take a break from the View and volunteer to work for his campaign.  It was one thing when Elisabeth was all rah rah for Republican candidates but for Paula, who loves to wear her journalist hat, to continue to be so biased towards the GOP is simply wrong IMO. As mentioned above by GHScorpiorules Paula can't have it both ways.  You can't show obvious favoritism towards a political candidate without being called out on it.  If you want to be a cheerleader for the Republican party then hang up your journalist hat and become a political analyst.  Otherwise STFU and stick to talking about something else you know about. Which would be......................?

I am really annoyed by a promo for the show they just aired.  It was taken from yesterday's discussion about being in a relationship, and they edited in a way that I feel really misrepresents the position Whoopi took.  They paint her as being some sage the other women were in awe of and not the bombastic contrary cow she was actually being yesterday.  The show a clip of Paula saying "were you one of those women who always had to be in a relationship?
and Sara is like "yes, I jumped from one relationship to another."  And then they jam in the thing Whoopi said about "is it a fear of being alone or a fear of being lonely?"

That keen bit of insight was only inspired in Whoops after the other women hammered into her head that they weren't AFRAID of being alone like Whoops insists they must be if they participated in a less than perfect relationship.  They just didn't want to be lonely so they were willing to date guys who weren't perfect, and that doesn't mean anybody is "afraid" of anything.  The clip makes it look like Whoops was the source of this wisdom when she fought tooth and nail against the concept.

What a snow job! Is there some campaign afoot to redeem Whoops or something? If she needs false advertising to make her palatable, why the hell didn't they just get rid of her?????

Here is my two cents on being alone.  I actually prefer the term single but I digress.  There is a huge difference between being single and being lonely. I was married for 10 years and lonely for most of it.  IMO being with someone you might not otherwise choose to be with simply because you don't want to be alone is not a good idea.  You might not be alone but are you going to really enjoy your life being with someone just because they are there?  I blame society for this.  Single people are looked at (especially people between the ages of 30 -50) as if there is something wrong with them.  Like what is your problem?  Why doesn't anyone want to be with you?  I have heard of people who have met people online (only communicated online, never met in person) who say they are in relationships.  They want so bad to be able to say they are part of a couple they think a cyber relationship is better than being alone.  As someone who is in her late forties I will say yes I do sometimes get lonely but such is life.  But let me say this.  I'm not looking for someone to prevent me from being alone, I'm looking for someone who will make me not want to be alone.

I remember last year when I turned 36..and being told by my gay friends (im a gay male) that i was over 35 and needed to be in a relationship.  I responded that there wasnt anyone I clicked with so until there is a mutual connection...I alternate between going on dates, hanging with my friends, and enjoying time alone.  It gets a littlw lonely...but I was in a bad relationship in my late 20s and I was miserable and felt suffocated.   Some people are better alone then in a relationship....just like I know people who function better in a relationship vs being single.  Neither is wrong...its whatever works best for the person.

My take on all this alone business is one can be alone in a relationship with a bad partner. One is lonely for the partner who left them. I have friends and sisters who have horrible marriages but they are afraid to make a change because of finances and really don't know any better. I lost my wonderful husband a few years ago and I miss him, the man I shared my life with for 28 years, and have never found anyone that I would settle for. I couldn't stand being told what to do constantly and contradicted in conversations, cheated on, etc. like the friends and sisters. So, yes being alone is not fun but you make the best of it and it's better than being with someone you can't stand and maybe even afraid of.

I was told by someone once that someone like me needs a "fuck buddy" once in a while. They laughed as they said it.  I had never heard that term before but Whoopi is what makes me understand what that really is. Even though we are around the same age, screwing around like that leaves me cold.

Sunny is being infected by Raven’s chair. Why would a veteran lie?!! Are veterans sanctified just because they served the country? He has as much reason to have an ulterior motive as any other person voting. Why would the other service members who say he’s lying be lying?

Joy's response to Paula when they came back to the commercial was pretty heated... Paula doesn't mind generalizing about other groups, why should her group be off-limits? (And Joy wasn't even generalizing in the first place. She was referring to many Christians out there, some in government jobs, who've said the victims "deserved it." Paula knew what she meant, she was being ridiculous as usual.)

I don't understand the gaps in Sunny's thinking sometimes.  She is an educated, intelligent, essentially fair-minded person (imo).  Then she goes off and suggests that if she catches you reading Mein Kampf, she's gonna turn you into the Nazi hunters.  A veteran can't be lying.

I wonder if during her years as a prosecutor of child sex crimes, she just dismissed the notion that any veteran accused of child molestation could be guilty.  I mean, if they can't lie, surely they couldn't be a child molester.  Somehow I doubt that was her policy.  I'm not sure why things have changed/Kanye shrug.

The best was when she said musical chairs should be banned because its too vicious, lol.

I am still liking her on this show (after loving her on CNN) but she says some incredibly dumb things sometimes.

How does it go? If a Muslim man kills someone it's terrorism.  If a Black man kills someone it's gang related. If a white man kills someone, it's mental Illness.

If a white Christian man killed 49 people and used Jesus as the reason, nobody would call that Christian terrorism.  They would call it a psychotic break.

I feel so dirty. Why? Because I was totally cheering Whoopi when Sunny AND Paula were going on and on and on about how this ex-secret service schill, (because that's what he is) is credible because he's a 29 year vet. So the fuck what? That dude, who was played by Gary Cole in Deadly Vision? The family annihilator? Was also a decorated vet. And shutup, Sunny, about temperament. You "know" President Obama? you "KNOW" he wouldn't lose his temper? And when Whoopi shut her down, with: "You've SEEN Obama, but you didn't/haven't SEEN" Hillary act this way; these allegations that you are giving credence to is based on RUMOR, bui she's very willing to believe it? And no way, IF Hillary had given President Clinton a black eye that make-up would cover it--sure it could, but he's so WHITE and Ruddy, any idiot would have been able to see it.

Damn, but my blood pressure went up, when after commercial, Whoopi had to "clarify,"  per Paula's request, that not ALL Christian leaders are being homophobic/hateful.  As if what Joy said was painting ALL of them-she didn't and she wasn't. She specifically said "one or two" were being hateful and not stepping up. What about that needed Whoopi to clarify not all Christians? Does Paula do the same thing when talking about Muslims? No. She does NOT. Again, today, she had to insert that what happened in Orlando could ALSO be terrorism, because Ramadan, and that the killer could die a martyr. STFU, Paula.

And you too, Sunny.

Joy paints Christians with her brush all the time.  That woman is constantly making snarky comments and asking snarky questions. Just sayin' she does it too.

Well, her point was -   you can't say that an attack on gays was religiously based because of some idea that Muslims hate gays, when you could just as easily say that Christians hate gays.   That hatred and anti-homosexual preaching is not unique to the Muslim faith, as there are Christian preachers spreading the same hatred.  Not ALL Christians, and not ALL Muslims. You can hate gay people, and be an atheist, or you can find a way to defend it using any religion at all.  Bottom line, HATRED has little to do with what religion you belong to.

You don't have to explain to me what her point was. My point was that she is also disrespectful and rude when someone on the panel mentions their religion. She does it constantly. She wouldn't do that with any other religion.. It's hypocrisy, and Joy is also full of it. She is just as bad as Bitsy was. Sooo often she just spouts out her bullet point, and then when someone challenges her on that, she shrugs her shoulder and it's the so what attitude she is so good at. I am not religious, but, come on.. Call a spade a spade. Joy is combative, and also doesn't know her information before she starts spewing out her anti-right wing crap.. Which is alright, but back it up more.. She doesn't. She is just as bad as Bitsy was.
