I don't know, the Nurses Ball was the last place we could hear actual music (because covers are cheap) but then my heart sank in 2020 or 2021 when it was clear they weren't going to use any licensed music as Epiphany sang some Muzak and cried about Covid.

They've been doing Public Domain songs at least since 2019, when Joss and Jax sang a pretty lame version of "Lavender's Blue".

I have the Internet Archive on my BlueSky feed and while nothing specific comes to mind at the moment, the 1929 copyright stuff is moving into the PD, so there are a lot more things they could pick. (Recent entries Singin' in the Rain and Ain't Misbehaving jumped out at me.) But they probably won't.

They should grab Thomas from Bold.

That's an excellent idea!

Matthew Atkinson would absolutely kill it if they were going with an angry, bitter Michael who has gone a bit cuckoo.

Please no. Nothing personal, but the actor has the eyes of a weasely rat. So squinty.

God help us, Frank hired Daniel Goddard (Cane frpm Y&R) as Joss’ professor.

I wasn't familiar with the actor's name, so I looked him up and learned he was Australian-American, so if he has an Aussie accent, will TPTB be unable to resist creating a Jax or Scorpio connection that will cause conflict for girl superspy Joss?

Tristan Rogers played his father on YR. I'm pretty sure the YR fandom called Goddard's character trash koala.

Ain't Misbehaving has a lot of potential as an act. Too many possibilities for me to pick one (just not Willow and Drew  or Lucas and Marco please).

Beastmaster! 😄 (I'm a sucker for Andre Norton.)

Oh, we had MUCH worse monikers for him.  MUCH worse.

Him playing a professor is about as unbelievable as Joss playing ......... anything.

Laura can be a guest speaker when that unit comes up in the syllabus.

If Show plays to Daniel Goddard's strengths, then he will undoubtedly think the syllabus is what picks him up and takes him to work.

Hopefully the role is short-term as part of the Alias Joss saga. That's how it sounds to me, but you never know with Uncle Frank collecting soap stars like Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

You know DG is trying to avoid some Tubi Original Beastmaster movies or something. Killed off 25 mins into Beastmaster: Generations before his hunky son's horrified eyes! (I just made this up. AFAIK.)

In spite of myself, I'm impressed with Eden's reading of her character.

Quote

McCoy acknowledges that Joss’s shift from undergrad to WSB asset “is a very large jump. Josslyn has no experience in anything in that world. But at the same time, this is a young woman who clearly has no idea what she wants to do in life. She has gone from wanting to be a doctor to not wanting to be a doctor, to wanting to be an environmental scientist, and the character of Brennan was brilliant in [selling her on joining the WSB] because he knows that. He knows where she’s at in life, and he framed joining the WSB as a real career that makes an actual difference in people’s lives and in the safety of the world. I think that was brilliant because it plays to Josslyn’s insecurity about having no idea what she wants to do and feeling so lost. He kind of presents to her this silver platter of, ‘You can have this exciting life.’ But obviously, the struggle is everything that comes with that, which is that nobody in Josslyn’s life can ever know. Not anyone, from her mom to Jason to Trina. So now, from here on out, there are sacrifices of lying to everybody in her life and losing relationships of honesty, and realizing how lonesome this career is going to be because she can’t share anything about her real life.”

Anchondo: Let me just tell you, there’s a lot of pressure because I’ve already seen some comments and gotten messages [from fans], and the number one thing that gets repeated is, “Please don’t hurt him!” And I’m like, “You know what? I wish I had more control over that!” I guess we’ll see where it goes, but I do believe that Marco is going to be very good to him.

Fans are creepy AF. They understand that it's the characters going in a relationship and not the actors, right? They know that the actors don't write their lines and don't choose how their characters behave?

It's all rhetorical. Humans are the stupidest.

I always think of that scene from "Tootsie" when there are fans waiting outside the studio and a fan asks Geena Davis if something is going to happen and she says "How should I know, I don't write this shit."

No, they really don’t. I went to super soap weekend back in 2001 and felt sorry for the actors who kept telling the fans they were not their characters. Hillary B. Smith had to tell fans that she was not Nora Buchanan, and that she and Robert S. Woods were not actually a couple. Larry Lau had to repeatedly tell them he was not Greg from AMC and was now playing Sam on OLTL. 🥱

Well, that's a little more understandable.  They could think she reads the scripts.

But, it's absolutely ludicrous the amount of adults (it's more understandable for children, IMO) that actually think the actor is exactly like the character, even if they understand they are 2 distinct entities.  Or people who think that they actually know people because they've seen them at a few conventions or whatever.

I saw on Reddit that she passed in March but the family wanted to mourn privately. IMDb dates it to March 5.

I loved Lesley on GH and wanted her to be my mother (started watching when I was 12) and enjoyed her last comeback.

I wonder if they’ll acknowledge her passing on the show outside of just using it as an excuse for GF’s summer leave.

I’m having trouble reconnecting with GH (too many stupid contrivances and rinse-repeat events), but I will tune in for the goodbye to LC and hope we get some decent acknowledgment of Denise Alexander’s work on the show.

I could see that hopefully this is after Monica’s passing. I want Laura around for that

I know Denise has been off the show longer than Leslie, but I hope she gets a tribute that goes beyond a mere title card. She was such an important part of the show for so long. I’m sure Monica will have a memorial service, and not to take away from that but maybe they could also acknowledge Lesley/ Denise with a clip segment on the same episode? The two great ladies shared so many scenes, it could function to honor both of them,

I'm of two minds here. I think LC and DA both deserve separate tributes. But I would be so tempted to do a "Jefferson lives" and have Monica and Leslie go at the same time like Adams and Jefferson. There's a poetry there.

Denise was so great during her original run and I'm still annoyed she was killed off. I always wished they had done more with her after her comeback.

Considering how much the two characters were rivals, that would be fun. But Lesley passed a few months ago and deserves to have her tribute soon. The PTB may have to take some time to do a tribute to Denise, especially if they have to schedule some returnees. At the very least, maybe include some Monica vs. Leslie clips in both tributes.

Yes, there should be separate tribute episodes. I think the only characters who were around at the time of the rivalry and have still been on the Show in recent years are Tracy, Laura, and Scotty.

Tracy, Ned, and somewhat Jason should be the lead characters on a Monica tribute episode because JE, WK and SB worked with LC the longest and the most as family. After that, of the current cast members, I think GF and BHerbst have worked with her the longest.

Laura, Lucky and Lesley Lu should be the lead characters on a Lesley tribute episode. Maybe there are old clips of JJ and DA that could be used?  I don't remember. I know the late TC had scenes with her when Grandma Lesley was trying to get Nikolas to spend time with (child) Spencer. I assume there are old clips of Scotty interacting with Lesley when he and Laura were together. Hopefully Kevin would appear for the death of his MIL.
