DollEyes April 5, 2014 Share April 5, 2014 (edited) Who are your favorite Movie Star crushes? One of mine is British actor Tom Hiddleston, because he's not only a great actor, there are several other reasons: He can sing, as he proves here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzWka42mP3k He can dance, as shown here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GaO0oMniMQ And he's adorable, as shown here (with a little help from Cookie Monster): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_ubVVnWglk Another favorite of mine is Benedict Cumberbatch, who, like his pal Tom Hiddleston, is talented, cute and British. Honor your favorite big-screen objects of affection here. Edited April 5, 2014 by DollEyes 7 Link to comment
Cranberry April 5, 2014 Share April 5, 2014 Anna Kendrick, ever since I first saw her in Up in the Air (and then went back to watch her in Camp). I like her in everything (although I won't watch the Twilight saga, because Twilight), she can sing well, she's always entertaining in interviews, and her Twitter is consistently funny (I've reblogged a bunch here). I also think she's attractive in a less-conventional way. Also Emma Stone and Scarlett Johansson. Both seem intelligent and down to earth, and I love their voices. I watched Her mostly because I got to listen to Scarlett talk for two hours. 4 Link to comment
Shannon L. April 5, 2014 Share April 5, 2014 One of mine is British actor Tom Hiddleston, because he's not only a great actor I love Tom Hiddleston for all of those reasons. He seems like such a nice guy. I unashamedly and without apology have a huge crush on Ben Affleck. I can't even really explain it (except for the fact that I find him very attractive--especially during his "Argo" phase), but I've had a crush on him for a while. 3 Link to comment
tinaw April 6, 2014 Share April 6, 2014 Big crush on Daniel Craig. Ever since "Casino Royale" I have liked him. Kevin Costner too 4 Link to comment
Shannon L. April 6, 2014 Share April 6, 2014 Big crush on Daniel Craig. Ever since "Casino Royale" I have liked him. I don't have a crush on Daniel Craig, but speaking of "Casino Royale", that scene with him in the shower, fully clothed, comforting the female lead (I forget the character name) was one of the hottest things I'd seen in a long time. 1 Link to comment
AimingforYoko April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 comforting the female lead (I forget the character name) Vesper Lynd. Speaking of crushes, here's to Penny Dreadful making Eva Green a big star. 2 Link to comment
xaxat April 7, 2014 Share April 7, 2014 I watched Mogambo last night on TCM. It's not a good movie, but Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner? Yes please! And I loved how they managed to find an excuse to get them into gorgeous evening gowns even though the movie takes place in the savannas and jungles of Africa. Link to comment
spaceytraci1208 April 11, 2014 Share April 11, 2014 I don't crush on him generally, but in Speed, Keanu Reeves definitely does it for me 10 Link to comment
Athena April 11, 2014 Share April 11, 2014 I've seen Ryan Gosling in things since I was like preteen. I was not surprised he became a bit of a heart throb. I am also a big fan of Hiddles these days. He seems to be the one I am crushing on the hardest these days. I can't wait until Only Lovers Left Alive. I have a crush on Tilda Swinton too or maybe it's more like a shrine to her awesomeness. 2 Link to comment
GHScorpiosRule April 13, 2014 Share April 13, 2014 Oh, where do I start? Daniel Day-Lewis. One look at him as Nathaniel in The Last of the Mohicans and I was lost. Then there's he fact that he becomes each character he plays and somehow manages to sound and look different. Though he was a killer when I first saw his first couple of movies, (Shaft, American Psycho), by the time Christian Bale reappeared as Bruce Wayne/Batman in Batman Begins, well, I was a goner. Because, one, I am totally Batman's Bitch and for me, HE IS Batman/Bruce (despite his horrid Bats' voice), just like Kevin Conroy IS and ALWAYS WILL BE the ONLY Animated Batman for me. Hugh Jackman, who is so sexay, and funny and nice and well, need I say more? Add me to the list of Tom Hiddleston admirers as well. The ONLY reason I even care about Loki is because of how Hiddleston gave him layers and brought him to life. 4 Link to comment

I agree with this in every way. It was more seductive than any love scene shown in the film (and really, any other in Craig's Bond films.) Link to comment

ShadowHunter April 30, 2014 Share April 30, 2014 Sebastian Stan in The Winter Soldier and its strange because in the first Captain America I thought he was cute but that was it. This movie really pushed him into crush territory for me. 3 Link to comment
ElleryAnne May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 Tom Hardy, esp. in RocknRolla, but also in Inception. And most of the cast of Inception, really. JGL has been a crush of mine since we were both teens. Also Val Kilmer. Please don't judge me too harshly for that. I just find him really compelling. 3 Link to comment
jellysalmon May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 I agree on JGL in Inception. It made me go to the department store and check out a suit. Then I realized how out of my price range it was and left sad. 2 Link to comment
BizBuzz May 1, 2014 Share May 1, 2014 ElleryAnne, we can be together in our shame, because Val has always been one of my crushes. And don't hate me for Johnny Depp, who I fell in love with in Benny and June. You know, Tom Hiddleston is my daughter's (14) crush right now, and although I think he is hot as Loki, I don't understand the draw. Never ever liked George Clooney in anything, except now that he is grey and older, yes, I find him very attractive, but not enough to call him a crush. I developed quite the crush on Colin Farrell when I watched a movie called "Ondine", but haven't really seen him in anything else to make it grow. Oh yeah, and the dude from "Eat, Pray, Love", Javier Bardem, gorgeous, until he married Penelope Cruz instead of me. ::giggle:: As I was reading this to my daughter, she says, don't forget that guy from Grey's Anatomy (Jesse Williams) that you said he could park his shoes under your bed anytime. I hate it when kids remember your bad qualities, like lust. He is just a kid, so I try not to think about that too often. HA! 3 Link to comment

At least it is for me :) I don't crush on him generally, but in Speed, Keanu Reeves definitely does it for me We were just talking about Speed last night and I thought "damn, he looked good in that movie." 2 Link to comment
spaceytraci1208 May 2, 2014 Share May 2, 2014 Also Val Kilmer. Please don't judge me too harshly for that. I just find him really compelling. No judgement! Val Kilmer had a nice run going for awhile there. I find him especially sexy in Tombstone. 2 Link to comment
ShadowHunter May 2, 2014 Share May 2, 2014 Michael Biehn from The Terminator and Aliens. The flirting with Ripley was cute. In my mind they got together because the 3rd movie never happened. When he tells Sarah how he came across time for her good stuff. David Bowie -Labyrinth. The ballroom and staircase scene also 'I Move The Stars For No One" 5 Link to comment
ribboninthesky1 May 2, 2014 Share May 2, 2014 Val Kilmer was everything in Willow. Keanu Reeves is a vampire. Speed was at least 20 years ago, and he's barely aged a day. He was a sexy beast, and I was totally rooting for him and Diane Keaton to get together in Something's Gotta Give. The scene where he playfully climbs over the sofa to chase her is the hottest scene in the film for me. Sorry, didn't buy her relationship with Jack Nicholson, even if he was more age appropriate. 7 Link to comment

Ohwell May 4, 2014 Share May 4, 2014 I had a girl crush on Ellen Barkin in "Sea of Love." I thought she was sexy. I forgot to give a shout out to my all-time crush. He's old and kinda frail, so I would never, ever want to see him naked now, lol, but he looks great in a suit, especially a tux. This is the one guy who could make me scream like a teenager, even after all these years. Sidney Poitier. 1 Link to comment

Bastet May 6, 2014 Share May 6, 2014 (edited) Sidney Poitier touched my my arm while talking to me at a charity event in the late '90s, and I did not stop smiling for days. My all-time crush is Cary Grant, followed by Pierce Brosnan in his Remington Steele days, when he was so reminiscent of Grant (not that I'd kick him out of bed now, mind you). Al Pacino, for many, many years. Denzel Washington. Kevin Bacon. Tim Robbins. For a change of pace, Matthew McConaughey. Girl crush as in I might actually bat for the other team if the opportunity somehow presented itself? The one and only Gillian Anderson. Half a point of my Kinsey score is simply because of her. The rest of my girl crushes are women I think are attractive, yes, but I'm not sexually attracted to them; I just want to experience the sheer joy of being in their presence because I also think they're smart, independent, outspoken, care about the world around them, etc. If I had a time machine, I'd be in the '30s right now having drinks with Myrna Loy. Among the living, Susan Sarandon and Allison Janney. Edited May 6, 2014 by Bastet 7 Link to comment

jah1986 May 6, 2014 Share May 6, 2014 Sidney Poitier never did anything for me until I saw For The Love of Ivy, he was downright hot in that. Also have to add to the Val Kilmer love, preferred him to Tom Cruise in Top Gun. And Ribboninthesky1 I totally agree about Keanu Reeves in Something's Gotta Give and the couch scene. I so wanted Diane Keaton to wind up with him. Have to add Matt Damon and Gregory Peck. Peck in Spellbound was almost pretty. Montgomery Clift in Red River, though I didn't love the girl he wound up with. 1 Link to comment

Bastet May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 One of mine is British actor Tom Hiddleston, because he's not only a great actor, there are several other reasons: I didn't know who he was, so I did some internet sleuthing. A gentleman, in 2014? Hell yeah! Link to comment
OakGoblinFly May 8, 2014 Share May 8, 2014 I don't crush on him generally, but in Speed, Keanu Reeves definitely does it for me Until he starts speaking and then the illusion is ruined. I don't really have crushes on movie stars (that's not to say that I don't appreciate the pretty that they can bring) ~ I find that I "crush" on the characters more than the actors. For example, I think Benedict Cumberbatch is interesting looking in that sometimes he's handsome sometimes he not kind of way but not crush-worthy yet the moment he dons the deerstalker, sweeping coat, and Sherlock persona I find myself swooning. Several people have mentioned Hiddleston and I know that his Loki persona has a lot to do with his "crush worthy" status. I submit for your review The Hollow Crown - honestly Prince Hal is my favorite character portrayed by Hiddleston. 3 Link to comment
DollEyes May 11, 2014 Author Share May 11, 2014 (edited) Three more crushes I'm adding to my list are Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, who just did an episode of The Graham Norton Show together to promote X-Men: Days Of Future Past and were hilarious. One of my favorite stories was how the only way Hugh and James could get Michael on the set was to play "Blurred Lines," which they danced to. The only thing that would have made it better for me would have been if there was twerking involved. Haven't seen The Hollow Crown, but I'm one of those who likes Hiddleston in spite of Loki rather than because of. I believe he's a ginger in real life, and he's a yummy one. I much prefer him in his natural state. Perhaps any state other than Loki - the look isn't the least bit sexy on him to me. I've been ambivalent on Fassbender for awhile, but that video is hilarious! He has some moves! Hugh and James were the icing on the cake. The penis video is hilarious as well - those three had great chemistry together - it's clear they genuinely like each other. Hiddleston is actually a blonde and quite ruddy complected (they pale his skin quite a bit for Loki) - I remember first seeing a young, blonde Hiddleston in Wallandar (small role) opposite Kenneth Branagh and thought he was quite talented. If I recall correctly, Henry V was filmed first and then Henry IV parts 1 and 2; there was some doubt as to whether or not Hiddleston would be available to film the Henry IVs due to his Avengers commitment - luckily it all worked out and he was able to play Prince Hal/Henry V in the three films. I wish more of his Shakespearean work would be available on DVD. Fassbender is currently filming (or just finished) MacBeth - I am curious to see that film and whether or not they stick with classic Shakespearean language (I did see photos and it pleases me that Fassbender appears to be wearing a proper kilt). I have to dig up that McAvoy video as I've always found him a bit on the dull side. Edited May 12, 2014 by OakGoblinFly 1 Link to comment

aradia22 June 3, 2014 Share June 3, 2014 Michael Fassbender, solely because of that recent remake of Jane Eyre. I did not watch a second of True Detective but I wish Cary Fukunaga (who is pretty cute himself) would do another period piece because that movie was a complete female fantasy. They took out the majority of the creepy, problematic, and upsetting parts of Jane Eyre (which make it an interesting and at times frustrating read) and instead left the romantic bits and Fassbender at his most swoon-worthy. It's like watching a rom-com and being OK with the fact that you're being sold something that isn't at all real. My classic movie crush would be Clark Gable. I don't really crush on actors that much out of the very specific context of the movie they're in at that moment. Link to comment
