I tuned in to see what they had to say about Sara and Joy says Whoopi is off this week because she's making a movie. It's probably not a big part otherwise she would be off for more than a week. But I will take what I can get. LOL So, I will be watching the show all week. Pretty good political discussion going on today too with the correspondent from Fox and Joy getting into it with Michelle doing well too.

BW in the house!

Is Barbara okay? Something was off about her speech it sounded slurred. Is her age finally catching up to her or does she have health issue?

Jedidiah and Sunny looked like they were on the verge of something there. Jedidiah was irritating me with her denials. Like Michelle I have relatives that were affected by the holocaust and if they could see what was going on with Trump and his supporters they would be afraid themselves.

The number of people attached to this show, and they had to have a guest co-host… I hope that woman never comes on this show again, couldn’t stand her. Her idea of arguing was just to say, “No, I don’t think so,” and repeat it over and over while people are talking. Nobody cares if you think so; the panel doesn't revolve around your one opinion. When they were talking about Trump’s racism, I was hoping -someone- would bring up those Neo-Nazi statistics he posted blaming most of the violence in America on black people. But he’s not courting racists and white supremacists…

I liked Michelle’s response to Sunny re: weight. People always say they’re concerned about other people’s health when the truth is they just don’t like fat people.

Sunny and I don't always agree, but I love her when she gets into these Trump discussions.

I also wish someone would point out that Hitler wasn't Hitler until he was. Meaning, he didn't exterminate humans on his first day in charge-- he had to become the horrifying leader he became first. He started with rhetoric and fear-mongering. He riled up his audience. Got them angry and scared until they believed in his lies and followed his plan. No, Trump isn't exterminating people, but we don't know how far his rhetoric will go. He's already advocated murdering the innocent families of terrorists, and is trying to make people believe immigrants are all rapists and killers. Can we please allow ourselves to learn from history?

Paula and Fox lady, SHUT IT.  tRump is an authoritarian that singles out people of color and one religion who took his sweet time and played cute about David Duke and the KKK so as to not lose his zealot fans.  That may not make him Hitler, but it certainly makes a portion of his supporters Nazi like.

Barbara is definitely slowing down, but for 86...  Lovely talk about Nancy Reagan.  Not my cup of tea, but having Barbara on to speak about her was the right thing to do.

I have no time for Steve Harvey - can't stand the prick.

Who was that annoying person?

And a better question is, why is she relevant?

Holy crap. I cannot stand Airhead, but I'd take even her over Jedidiah. ANd I thought Jedidiah is a man's name.  Jesus.... please...

THIS ^^^^^ Yes, Hitler started with rhetoric and built on it and look what happened. tRump scares the crap out of me. Seriously; and to think there are people out there voting for him is terrifying since it reflects a certain mentality. After all the progress, we're heading backwards now. SHIT. I hate to wish someone to drop dead, but I do wish tRrump would go the hell away... fast...

Steve Harvey strikes me as someone who wants to pin a rose on his own nose. He's always talking about how he takes care of his kids and loves his wife ... like that is a miracle. Newsflash. A husband and father is supposed to take care of his kids and love his wife. Sheesh. Like Chris Rock said that men brag about never having been to prison. Well, you're not supposed to do things that land you in prison in the first place doofus.

RIght.  Hitler, like Trump, was a charismatic leader.  People believed in him, and they followed what he instructed.    watch the videos of Trump supporters hitting and kicking Black protesters, and you see what he is inspiring people to do.

Why is everyone so shadey to Rosalynn Carter?  They act like before Nancy the first lady was spitting tobacco and wearing over alls.

Nevermind LadyBird.  Pat and Betty were more down to earth as well.  That is what I'm disliking the most about all these Nancy Reagan retrospectives, she was the "caring" voice behind "Just Say No" that coincided with discriminatory criminal justice practices and the expansion of the private prison industry.

He's also offering to pay legal expenses if anybody gets in trouble for inciting violence.

BaWa is addicted to getting on any show to talk about anything!!!  No break from me.

I see your point bc Im not a super BW fan, but I do give her a break bc she is old and still getting out there. Im not sure I could do that at that age if I make it to that age.

Any expenses will be a drop in the bucket for him.

I do think it was nice that BW was there and that she was still able to be there. I'm sure it wasn't that easy for her with little notice.

This was one time on they actually did something interesting unlike deciding what color Raven should have her fake hair. UGH.

Nancy Reagan died yesterday morning & BaWa was on the ABC Nightly News at 6:30 E.T.  She must've done some pretty fancy moving to get her hair & make-up done & round up someone to help her dress & escort her to the venue.  BaWa is nothing if not determined, but she just can't accept her limitations (disintegrate/deteriorate), both mental & physical.  Just sayin'.

Edited to delete sentence about my Mother .... not related & a bit mean-spirited.  Sorry!!!

I am definitely sick of Paula.  And I still like Michelle.  Go figure.

I noticed that Paula doesn't really speak across to Joy, she speaks to her right when Miss Whooopi is not there. So you only see the left half of her face.

BaWa was not bad, but I felt she was a bit OTT about Nancy Reagan.  So all those other first Ladies had no class and style and brought nothing to the White House?  I think the fact that Roslyn Carter was not focused on spending lots of money on clothes and china actually makes her a better First Lady.

  • Love 11

I wondered if they specifically said Whoopi was gone all week so they can see if the ratings improve without her.  I remember BW used to say they kept secret how long co-hosts were out for to avoid people just tuning in certain days, but that was years ago.

I liked Michelle saying Just Say No was a big part of her childhood, I'm sure it didn't work for her (just like it didn't work in general).  It reminds me of one of my favorite Andy Warhol tidbits that he told Nancy to stop lumping weed into her campaign because it just makes kids not take her seriously.

  • Love 6

It's was nice that they could drag Barbara out for the big story. Love her or hate her she's been around forever and has all the stories. Unfortunately, I was horrified by her large dragging her ear lobes to her chest. Yikes! I do miss the days when Barbara & Joy worked tougher. Joy was the only one who could tease her and get away with it. I know that Joy knows she wouldn't be where she is today if Barbara hadn't hired her for The View. Also, it's a great show when incoherent & sloppy Whoppi isn't there. She either can't read, can't read the TelePrompTer or doesn't care to read & speak properly. Will someone give her the hook.

Looking at the guest list:

-Love Nathan Lane, good guest. He's also too good to be in that awful OJ Simpson made-for-television movie.

-Bonnie Raitt, another talented guest.

-Interesting... Marla Maples on Friday. She better say something noteworthy about her unbalanced ex, Trump. That's the only reason for her to be there.

The guest host today was a totally unacceptable motor-mouth. Otherwise, decent show w/ Joy at the helm. I've actually grown to enjoy the show as it seems to have settled into a groove, rather than the early part of the season reboots... ah, those bat-shit crazy days.

Trump is dangerous and has no business being in the White House... and neither does Ted Cruz who I think is equally scary.

Who the bloody hell is this Jedidiah person?!! Nice name by the way. Is she a long-lost member of the Beverly Hillbillies? She was incredibly annoying. "Twenty year olds don't need health care." Oh really?!! Then I guess if you're in your 20s, then you are immune to AIDS, cancer, heart disease, etc. What an utterly stupid thing to say and on this show? That's saying something!!

Where TF do they get these people? Under a rock?

She actually said this??????  On what planet does anyone not need health care?  Even if you are young and healthy you still need to see a doctor for yearly checkups to make sure you are still healthy.  Preventative care has proven to be effective in keeping oneself healthy as we age.

God I hate stupid people.

Tuesday, March 8 -  Wonder if they'll talk about this:

Erin Andrews was awarded $55 million in the peeping tom Marriott Hotel chain lawsuit.

GOOD FOR HER.

Now will Grace be telling mom Elisabeth Hasselbeck what to say in another "courageous" mea culpa?

Don't know about any of you, but it is still horrifying to think about what Hasselbeck snarkily said about Andrews, her costumes on DWS, and the peeping tom incident; then her next day teary cowardly non apology.

I hope Hasselbeck is reliving her shame this week.

She is going to be on DWTS so that is another reason for her to be there.

Well shit.  I hope she's a one and out type, ha!

Bitsy was disgusting about this.  I remember Maxim (actually most of the cast that season) going after her like a mad-dog on Twitter, she completely deserved it.  I'm so happy for Erin, half of it is to be paid by the perpetrator so she'll never see it, but she'll get the half from Marriott.

I immediately thought of what Elisabeth said about Erin Andrews and the skimpy DWTS costumes and how if her stalker had just waited a little while he could have seen it all without getting into trouble.  That is without a doubt the most disgusting thing  (and my fucking God she has said a lot) she has ever said.

Trump has his hands on the purse strings of all his exes.  They wouldn't dare say a negative word about him.  So don't expect much from Marla.

Check out this article:

http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/donald-trump-said-a-lot-of-gross-things-about-women-on-howar#.nxEvv6k0kJ

"Donald Trump Said A Lot Of Gross Things About Women On “Howard Stern”

In the hours of audio reviewed by BuzzFeed News, Trump ranks, rates, and degrades women.

Trump made dozens of visits to the Howard Stern radio show during the 90's and into the 2000's. "The most popular topic of conversation during these appearances, as is typical of Stern’s program, was sex. In particular, Trump frequently discussed women he had sex with, wanted to have sex with, or wouldn’t have sex with if given the opportunity. He also rated women on a 10-point scale."

“A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10,” he told Stern in one typical exchange.

Regarding Trump's ex-wife Marla Maples, he said: "Nice tits, no brains.”
