That's a HUGE leap in logic to say that a married pop singer who dresses scantily and sings provocative songs is doing it to cheat on his/her spouse.

One thing I love about the RHOBH, these women wear some expensive designer clothing, but don't feel the need to drape themselves in logos. Or wear Cartier panther rings to brunch with the girls. Erika should just wear a shirt that says "I'm rich, bitch!!".

I was curious as to how long Erika Jayne had been around, and on the Wiki page for her, it indicates Erika Girardi went to a school for performing arts in Atlanta. I'm guessing Erika went to LA for career reasons, and was doing the "wait tables and audition route." She didn't give up her dream, I give her props for that.

I have a hunch that Erika could be a real fireball if backed into a corner.  Just based on the things she says and the life she lives, it seems like she's the kind of woman who wouldn't take much from anyone, male or female.  Just now, at the outset, I think she's determined to put her best foot forward.

 

My favorite moment with Erika was in this last show.  Two of the HWs rather demurely allowed that they'd just been watching her video.  I thought that Erika might be angry, but in a millisecond she let out with a loud, brassy 'HA!"  It made me laugh for five minutes!  She may be quiet, but she's by no means boring.  I find myself looking forward to Erika scenes more than any others.  :))

Bethenny's stimulant stimulated, double speed, non stop questions, above all else, mostly made Bethenny look like an amped up weirdo. Maybe Erika kept cool because she didn't feel remotely threatened or vulnerable because of who was asking the questions.

I wouldn't judge/condemn a porn star because whatever one may think of porn, it's honest work.  There's no confusion about what's going on.  To me, the Erika Jane video they were discussing on the show last night is not something a married woman would do unless her husband was okay with her getting hit on relentlessly and her probably cheating.  If that's the case and her husband is fine with her having sex with other dudes/ladies then she should put that on  RH imo.  That would be honest.  Or maybe her husband is not up to speed on what Erika Jane is really doing when she's on the road although I kind of doubt that.  He may be old but he's not stupid.

 

I'm confused why she would be getting hit on or would be cheating. She is a basically a performer in Gay clubs, right? That is her target audience that is whom she performs for when she does live performances. Or, did I misunderstand her demographic? Why would her husband associate her hobby with her being a cheater?

 

Her marriage may not be for everyone, but they seem happy together and seem to have done well together for the past 15 years. I don't see any indication that she would cheat on him.

Erika is my new favorite. I just love how she is straight forward and honest about what she does, she knows that some won't like it and will judge her, for the career, the marriage, the Botox, etc. but she doesn't care. She fully admits her shows are on the skanky side, that she's a very curvy and full figured woman, that she's married to an old, rich guy, and she owns it all. I loved the scene where she had no shame or guilt about enjoying that chocolate cake and her totally classy shutdown of Bethenny's rude comments. Erika for the win! I always enjoy seeing women who are confident and comfortable within themselves and Erika definitely seems like that person.

Finally watched that video because I finally saw the Pretty Mess episode. From the Housewives's comments alone, I expected anything from Madonna's "Justify My Love" to Rammstein's "Pussy" video. What I got was dull and unoriginal. BUT as has been said, yay for leaving her with her own thighs.

I'm in the "not a gold digger" camp for the time being. Her husband is attractive even now at 76, I'm sure he was very handsome in his day ( yes even in his Elderly 50's) Plus he's obviously smart and driven, I would find that very attractive. I would take a smart man over a handsome man any day of the week, throw in a sense of humor and I'm sold. It's not like this is a J Marshall/Anna Nicole marriage. He was off sound mind and I presume savvy enough to know if someone were after his money. Having said that, I must be in the minority but I have no inner diva or disco queen so she lost me on that one but I don't think she should be labeled. They seem to have a lovely marriage and I think that label diminishes both ofthem.

Petunia, look at this picture of her.  I am obsessed with skin care so when I came across this pic, I gasped. For a woman in her 40s, her skin is almost flawless. If she's got imperfections, the semi-heavy make-up is covering them - but money and the best foundation in the world doesn't equal skin like hers.  Them's good genes. I'm linking the picture because it's large and the magnifier really drives it home that the quality of her skin is freaking ah-may-zing.

Looking at both pictures she has a strong foundation of good genes and possibly good habits, staying out of the sun and seeping on her back, skincare from a young age. Her eyes are a bit more hooded in the older picture than in the more current one. She may have had a small procedure to correct that but I think the rest is conservative use of fillers and botox and skincare . Looks like she filled her upper lip out a tiny bit maybe spot filling her cheeks, she's  had some botox smoothing between her brows and did a tiny bit of something under her eyes for faint lines. She may have had her skin smoothed and may have had her nose thinned but only slightly (could just be lighting and makeup contouring) but she didn't touch her uneven chin. She has a good Doctor.

I agree but I dont think there is a regional difference when it comes to facial plastic surgery. Those that can't stop or do something too drastic lose any sense of who they were and they all end up looking like they came from the same family of freaks.

I love Erika, too!  I don't know whether I can see the comparison with  Carol Wayne, but maybe I lack your powers of observation  :)  Erika seems so sweet, yet smart, while Carol seemed more like the ultimate dumb blonde.  I'm glad you remembered Carol, though; I'd forgotten all about her!  She was fun!

 

I would love to see Erika, still remaining sweet, encounter Faye in a one-on-one.  Erika is so quick that I  can almost envision the zingers she'd throw.  Oh, wait!  I don't dare wish that because it would mean that Faye would have to hang around on the show for a while, and I sure don't want that!  NOTE TO LURA: Be careful what you wish for!

I'm kind of on the fence about Ericka. I like that she owns who she is, but I still haven't gotten a sense of how she interacts with the other women. Most of her snappy comebacks seem to be in talking heads rather than during the actual conversation. That may just be an editing thing, but she doesn't really seem to engage with the women in the moment so much as she kind of smiles and shrugs them off. Which as a coping tactic is fine, but it doesn't give us any real sense of who she actually is when she is with them. 

 

I didn't like that she asked about Brandi and then gave a judgmental talking head to the women's honest response of "Brandi is awful." If she doesn't know Brandi and has never watched the show, she has no leg to stand on. If she has watched the show and saw how Brandi behaved, again, she has no leg to stand on. 

 

But, I do like that she brings the actual house porn and the private planes. While I don't care for what Yolanda is doing with the misinformation she is spreading about Lyme Disease, I do like that Ericka is loyal to Yolanda. I just wish she would be more honest and clear about the information she is taking back to Yolanda about what the other women are saying. 

 

So, I just keep going  back and forth on her. I probably won't have a clear opinion of her until her second season.

She has a good foundation and the glow comes from bronzers and blush. 

 

Kat Von De has a foundation sold at Sephora, that I use, called Lock it Tattoo foundation.   It covers everything (probably not a tattoo), and stays on all day.   I get compliments on my skin all the time.  It is phenomenal.

Nothing like prejudging people.  There is nothing good about Erika Jayne's show-why she thinks she is Quenn of the Gays is just a slap to LVP.  I guess LVP sees gays as something other than dance party bimbos.  She actually advocates for Gay Rights.  She can be superficial about things but this Erika is just awful.

 

Essentially the video consists of a group of what we are to presume are gay men (about six) patting Erika's ass, and her saying that the women individually are okay but as a group they are not.  She also makes a big deal about being around women because apparently she is above friendships with women.  The women are going to berate her show but she is fabulous and her show is entertaining, great, clean fun and she truly is the Queen of Gays, Queen of her house, of her husband and her kid.  

 

To me, Erika comes off as surpassing opportunistic and rounding the bases toward megalomanical.  I would love if one of the women had the courage to say they just found Erika Jayne and her act tawdry and not terribly entertaining even in a Gong Show kind of way.  I don't know why she has to continue to weigh in on how fabulous she is and how awful the other women are.  I hope none of the women give her the satisfaction of a honest answer about her show  or even continue to acknowledge it. Further, I hope it is the last show they attend of Erika's-kudos to Yolanda for not even suffering through one.
