And this reminded me what's going on at FC:

It really is a testament to Eric's bad parenting, that his children feel it is all or nothing in order to feel accepted and loved by him. Why wouldn't a simple "I love you Rick, and have nothing but confidence in you" have been enough? No, Rick had to have an ironclad deal, giving him complete autonomy over Forrester, with the added bonus of Eric turning his back on Ridge. And Eric did it. All of it. He did it with gusto, nearly gleefully throwing every trifling thing Ridge has ever done back in his face. Do I have a problem with Ridge being called on his crap? Absolutely not, but don't stand in your son's face and start talking smack and throwing shade on stuff that happened five, ten, or twenty years ago, because it should have been dealt with when it happened. Oh, but wait! Eric was too busy enabling said son to bring him to task when the shit actually went down. This same competition existed between Thorne and Ridge, but Thorne is not Rick, who was also molly coddled by his parents, and feels even more entitled than Ridge if that is possible. Now, after years of Eric telling Ridge that blood doesn't matter, that he loves him like a son all the same, it appears that may not be the case.

I am also baffled by the changing culture at FC's. Eric is still blustering about it being all about family, but then in the next sentence goes on about how he will overlook anything if he keeps seeing profits like this. And all this focus on a husband and wife team leading the company? Really Eric? Ok, so for a few years in the beginning it was you and Stephanie, but then it was Brooke, and let us not forget the advent of Sheila, who played a big part in FC's for many years. So shut it already with all this talk about how you and Stephanie made this company and blah, blah, blah. And aren't you the fucking one who always told Stephanie to stay out of their kid's business? So what is up with trying to gift the CEO spot to Ridge if he will reconcile with Brooke? Then it was all about Rick and Caroline. Now it is all about Rick and Maya. Is it because Eric has always been a horny toad, and equates success with good sex? And by all that is holy, I could so sweetly, and resoundingly, smack this nonsense about "the CEO gets all the credit" crap, right out of Eric's mouth. As a designer, Eric knows better. Then again, Eric has always been a few ounces short of a pound, so maybe he doesn't get that the best CEO in the world ain't nothing without product to market. I don't understand why they are trying to destroy Ridge and Eric's relationship, but I know it sucks that it is happening because Rick needed his nappy changed and is still breast feeding.

Wow look at that,  Nicole has about as much class as her mother/sister Maya.  She's in the mansion all of one day and she's already acting like she's entitled to it all.  What a trifling little wench.  That said, I love her making Maya squiiiiiirm!  Payback is a bitch Maya.  

 

Poor Quinn,  I see heartache coming her way.  Brooke is always the poor victim who needs saving and clearly Deacon loves being needed,  he all but admitted in the meeting that he loved being able to help desperate Quinn.  Well you can't get more pathetic and desperate than Brooke.    I'm so over Brooke and her always needing a man to save her and her always getting him.   

 

Eric is clearly the biggest boob on the show.  So the numbers are up and it's all Rick.  It had nothing to do with the fashion line Caroline and Ridge rolled out.  Well the higher the perch, the higher the fall.   Rick is surely going to go splat eventually and when he finds out that his loyal and honest Maya has a secret she didn't share with him it's going to be a double whammy!   

 

I miss Caroline.   The show is just less sparkly without her and I need some sparkle.

Eric is now  damn near senile when it comes to Rick..  Someone needs to adjust his meds or something.  Where is Stephanie when we really need her?  My guess is spinning in her grave.

I've taken Forrester Creations depicting a lux couture fashion house with a 50 lb bag of salt.

 

In reality, FC is a warehouse-size dress vendor with a couple of showrooms and some department store customers. They don't follow any standard fashion calendar, having the periodic marketing event at the drop of a hat. They have a formal dress line, might still have a lingerie and Men's line (men's hasn't been mentioned since the Boinkberry incident) and ready-to-wear (Hope For the Future) line. The majority of quasi-couture/ready-to-wear designers for women's wear produce six to eight seasonal lines a year. FC can barely get two down the catwalk without threats of bodily harm.

 

When Nick Morone and $Bill called Ridge "The Dressmaker," it was an accurate description. Forrester Creations has operated as a Mom and Pop storefront, not an organized corporate entity  -- upper management has always been in a constant state of flux, with the family members openly warring among each other in public and in the press. The management structure has been a bone of contention for most of Bn'Bs Soap history.

 

 FC is run like a neighborhood game of Kick the Can -- disparate and occasionally antagonistic participants, crude, rudimentary rules, at some point someone else is "It" and game starts again -- To the arrogant, delusional and inept go the accolades and the spoils.

This is Nicole/Maya crap is clearly the result of the writers scrambling after LG's accident. Earlier spoilers indicated that Maya was into trying to get to know her sister and was even excited about setting her up with a guy. And though their first meeting was a little frosty, it thawed up pretty quickly with Nicole seeing that Maya felt like a fish out of water with Rick. There was a subtleness present in those first scenes that read as awkwardness between them, not menace. I know that many people assumed that Nicole had a secret about Maya when she first showed up (I didn't), but even if she did, it definitely wasn't this crap playing out now. Nicole scoffed at the idea of being a fashion designer, and wanted to be known for her talent in the field of computer science. She wanted to get away from her parents, same as Maya, and they commiserated a bit in that shared experience. She seemed like she was a hacker kind of "bad girl," not the blackmail kind. This set up is ridiculous, because, again, I could give a crap about the secret.

Pro-tip: please make the flesh colored panels of a peek-a-boo dress match the actual flesh of the person wearing it.

Says Ridge, the guy who ripped Bill's engagement ring from her finger, flew across the globe to stop her wedding on the flimsiest of excuses, and quite literally dragged her away from the ceremony. Not only is it strange that the lawyer is at the photo shoot, but where is the designer?  Shouldn't he/she be present.  And they were showing the jewelry, where was Ivy?
And while Rick is ruling with his iron fist, doesn't he question his mother's absence?  Has he questioned her drinking?

I've been contrasting this with As the World Turns.  Emma Snyder lived on a farm...by the end of the show practically the whole town lived at her farmhouse, and everybody had their own bedroom.  Hilarious to think that house was bigger than a mansion :)

I never had a problem with Maya at the HFTF meetings, at least.  Like I said before, they seemed to have this whole young, collaborative vibe where no one was above anyone else and each section they represented was a vital part of the operation.  No one was handing out orders, but everyone worked together.  Maya would say stuff like, "On my last spokesmodel tour, this is the feedback I got..." blah blah blah.  When it started moving into board meetings, I kind of narrowed my eyes, but at least they set up a precedent for her being at meetings in the first place.  With Carter, it's like they just need to make sure LSV gets his contractually agreed upon episodes.  "Oliver says the light is leaving."

I friggin knew that Nicole wold want to be a model. I still don't think she is actually going to UCLA because she flunked out or got expelled.

If this is a fashion shoot than why was Oliver taking pictures only from the waist up. Anyone who knows photography would know that he was standing to close to the model to get full body shots and using a portrait lens. By the way, the blonde model was very pretty and looked a little like Caroline.

Maya to Nicole "If this is the way you treat family, than I don't want you in my life". Maya, it's Rick's home not yours and it's made of glass so stop throwing stones. No way is Maya Nicole's mother even with their age difference. Rick wood accept that as a secret and probably embrace Nicole even more. The secret has to be some kind of betrayal for Maya's loyalty is was drew him to her and he values the most.

Yes, Katie, take Bill with you to Brooke's and tell her you went to Aspen, on your honeymoon, to mark your territory. That will sit real well with Brooke and keep her from being lonely because then she could order 2 cases of Vodka.

It was so nice that Aly & Carter were their to give their input with their knowledge & experience. It was funny to see the two model extras tower over contract model, Maya. Hopefully, the secret will get out soon. I'm almost feeling bad for Maya. The actress playing Nicole is doing a great job. I guess she'll hook up with Carter soon enough. Also, TK looked good today. Yeah, but if had then he wouldn't have been dumped out of Bill's helicopter onto his head and lost his ability to draw and needed Caroline's help and they get the hots for each other and we end up with the awesomeness (for some; I know not all love it) that is Caridge.

Ridge being a paternalistic prick and Bill being a violent jerk unexpectedly gave us one of the best Forrester Creations upheavals in quite some time with the bonus of a love to hate scheming couple in Rick & Maya and a hot fling/romance in Caroline /Ridge. And it seems he's learned his lesson: he leaving Brooke be to her own devices. When it begins affecting RJ then he's good to get back in her business.

And Katie is only needling him to jump back in it to keep Brooke's pile of woe from pulling Bill back into her orbit. Ridge ain't playing their games and I say good for him, LOL.

I can only speak for myself, but I will never, not even in a million years, feel sorry for Maya. I cringe every time I hear her say "this is my home", or "I have worked really hard to get here", because they are both blatant lies. I don't recall Eric bestowing, or gifting, or deeding the Forrester estate to Rick; what I remember is him telling Rick he could "stay there with Maya" in an effort to comfort Rick and to smooth his ruffled feathers. Maya sashays around trotting out these ridiculous statements as if she is a Forrester born and bred and has been contributing to FC's for years, when all she has done is be a spokes model for a short time, walk down the runway once, and now this photo shoot. Of course, I am not taking into account all the time she has logged on her back and in the bathtub, but I would consider those working hours as more about snaring Rick than FC's. I really don't care what Nicole's secret is, as long as it highlights that Maya is an opportunist of the first order. Not to mention a colossal hypocrite to be talking any kind of smack about anyone else's morals. 

 

Lookie here Katie, you just leave Ridge alone. He doesn't need to come to Brooke's rescue; you just want to stir up trouble for Ridge and Caroline by getting him worked up about Brooke. So much word to all of this but especially the bolded. You know damn good and well that the last place Katie wanted to go was Aspen, the place where Brooke and Bill fell in love after she ham-fisted them into going there in the first place. 

 

This "new" and "improved" FUN Katie won't last. I give it a few weeks before she's harping on Bill again, especially if she sees him sniffing around poor recovering alcoholic Brooke. And I'm no fan of Ridge, but how insulting that now that she doesn't want him anymore (well, he didn't want her anymore either) as their revengemance had its desired purpose, she wants to use him yet again to bolster the apparently already-on-shaky-ground Batie 2.0 marriage and shove him into Brooke's orbit once more. This shows me she's the same trifling heifer she's always been.

 

As for Maya/Nicole, no matter how much of a nasty little snot Nicole is (and I'd like to wash the taste our of little sister's mouth right now), I'm not falling for the heavy-handed writing that is trying to manipulate me into mustering up some sort of sympathy for Maya. Not happening. It's not as awful as TPTB having the resident bitch be raped in a misguided attempt to get the viewers to warm to her, but whatever they're trying to sell here, I'm having none of it.

But we saw what happened when Caroline tried to trap Maya in porn: she immediately figured out what was happening, looked incredulous and scandalized and bounced.  It would be one thing if we only saw Caroline's set up and then, later, Maya talking to Rick about how she would never do something like that, but we never saw the meeting that transpired.

 

And that's the whole problem with this set up.  Caroline, later by extension Bill, moved mountains to find any dirt on Maya when Rick started sniffing around her and eventually made moves to leave Caroline for her.  They used the only thing they could find and it still didn't work.  Whatever secret they come up with will, 100% guaranteed, not make any sense.  Just like she basically hasn't made any sense since this turn.  They tried to reconcile it with her saying something like "When I was nice, people walked all over me.  Now I'm taking back my power" but it's still just leaving gaps all over the place.  Which is why I can't even say that she's opportunistic because if she was, she would have stayed her ass with Rick in the first place because he still wanted her even though he cheated with Caroline.  I guess I'm just supposed to forget her entire story arc in 2013 (except for Rodeo Drive, of course) for this to make sense.

I'll be super annoyed if Maya's secret ends up being a porn past.  When Caroline was going mean girl on Maya when Maya was intent on being an actress, Caroline got Maya to show up to an audition for a porn movie (unknown to Maya). Maya didn't hesitate to say no, and there was nothing to indicate that her refusal was of the "No way am I going THERE again!" variety. ETA: I just saw that Kia discussed this above.
 
Also, I highly doubt Nicole will end up being Maya's daughter.  Unless the writers are dumber than I thought, last week's Maya and Nicole exchange of "I know your secret"..."What are you talking about, I have no secret"..."You do too"..."Do not"..."Do too" (and on & on) wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.  I'd think it would only be natural for Nicole to say "I know you're my mother" rather than the conversation ending with Maya pleading "Please don't tell."

The only way that conversation could make sense is if Maya believed that Nicole never knew she was her mother (so their parents raised her as theirs and never told anyone), and Nicole came across the information somehow herself (or Mom or Dad got drunk and spilled one night or something).  But, still, you'd think that Nicole revealing that she knows would lead to some kind of conversation about it, not just Maya acting like a scared bunny and Nicole smugly posturing.

 

I didn't before, but now I kind of want Brooke to end up back with Bill.  It would serve Katie right at this point.  God she annoys me. What would she do then?  Go after Deacon?

Exactly.  I can see how it would be possible for Maya to be Nicole's mother with Nicole being in the dark about that, but Maya's reaction makes no sense.  Unless (and this is a stretch) this IS how it's going to play out, which WOULD make Maya look shitty, thus disputing the "you're so loyal and honest" crap Rick keeps shoveling.

I've been conditioned by years of watching Ron Carlivati (current GH head writer, former OLTL headwriter) to not expect eventual reveals to match up to what we've seen on screen.  So, yeah, this is the kind of shit they would do.  It also doesn't leave the porn thing out of the question either, just because Maya's reaction to potentially doing porn a year or so ago doesn't match up to that being her history.  Like I said, whatever it is, it will end up being lame.  I should have added "and, likely, insulting to the viewers' intelligence."

Nah, my money would be on no strings sexy times with Wyatt -although Liam would make more sense and cause more devastation. But that's exactly why I don't want them to go there with Liam and Katie, the Liam/Bill bond is so awesome it is not something to be trifled with and ruined.

 

But Wyatt? She can still get some revenge and have some fun in the process.

 

And as a story it makes a little sense for Wyatt. Wyatt could be acting on some resentment issues towards Bill about abandoning his mother, favoring Wyatt, and also be in an anger 'doesn't give a damn' downward spiral over his loss of Hope and their son. Also Wyatt is supposed to be 'the most like Bill' and taking what he wants and damn the consequences even if it hurts his own family so this is is right in Bill Spencer's wheelhouse.

Katie not only peed all over Aspen but she saved a big bucket of pee to dump on Brooke's head. But I'm not sure if she really wanted to take the drink or just get Decon to her house. I'm sure we will find out pretty soon.

Ok, Nicole is not going to UCLA right now but she tried and couldn't make it. Nicole could have been going when she first came to see Maya and than quit but wanted to stay in LA after seeing Maya's digs. I'm a family first person, so I really can't understand why Maya would not want to reunite with her long lost sister. But from the start Maya didn't want any part of Nicole. Maya has no sense of family.

Maya's bitch face is priceless even more priceless than Rick's or Brook's squinty eyed stare.

I love that Rick had to run down to cutting because Ridge and Caroline where MIA. Than why, when Maya was MIA at yesterday's photoshoot, Rick didn't put on a dress, his heels, and get made up to take her place.

As an aside, I don't know what's the mystic about Aspen. There are many resorts in CO that are just as or more beautiful than Aspen. There is an old adage, though, about Aspen where rich people go to Aspen to be seen and rich people go to Vail not to be seen. I guess I answered my own question.
