Leon Brown: So Here's Me

Pallas
Message added by Scarlett45,

Leon is transgender and uses they/them pronouns. As defined in the GLAAD guidelines, they are a they, were a they, and will be a they unless they ever tell us something different.  Per those guidelines, referring to them as a woman or a girl or as she is not okay, regardless of any modifier placed before these words or the time period being discussed.  Referring to them by any name besides "Leon" or "Leo" is not appropriate, regardless of the time period being discussed. Intent matters and people may slip up. Let's strive to respect their identity.

Mariah, don't be a jerk to those not like you.

Because you are not any more special than anyone else despite what you think or have been told.  Live and let live and with your career aspirations you'd better learn that pretty damned fast.

If you are getting the hose, can you shoot it my way?

This self centered, supercilious bitch needs a fire hose.

She's Meri all over again with that entitled bitchiness.

She's gone from a FLDS brat to another level of bitch.  It is nice she has a girlfriend that can stand her.  Mariah, you are not the most special snowflake on earth.  The sooner you realize that, the better.  Or do you want to end up miserable like your mother?

Wait until she's faced with all of those student loans to pay off on a social worker's salary.  And wait until she has to deal with other people's problems--something tells me she will be quite bored and irritated when things aren't about her anymore.  In fact, I'm not sure she will make it through 2 years or so of a social work program.

From the school website:

Tuition

Currently tuition for MSW courses in the School of Social Work is $1,007 per credit hour. As a 60 credit hour program, based tuition for the MSW program is $60,420. This tuition rate does not however include mandatory university fees or increases in tuition that may incur at the start of each academic year.

Plus I can only imagine how much her rent is.  Plus they are talking about taking their dogs.  Most of those apartments in Chicago charge rent each month for pets, in some apartments that fee was for each pet.

Maybe she thinks she will be able to sell enough LLR to her college friends to finance this...OR,

maybe she will be able to absorb the unused college funds that the Brown's had set aside for Maddie and Mykelti, oh wait, were their college funds spent on weddings?

Well, she certainly isn't advertising LLR with her hideous outfits.  Don't either of them own anything decent?

I really want to go to a counselor wearing skin tight leggings and a shapeless t-shirt.  So professional.

Sycophants abound in the social media world.  That's the reason I hardly ever venture into it.  Way too much bullshit for this jaded old lady.

Audrey, your top has got to be LuLaNo.  It's fugly.

But note, she has given the top her own stylin' touch with the french tuck.  All the better to show off her Nike belt buckle.

I would be shocked if the Brown family isn't paying the total cost of Mariah's new education program..just like they did for her pricey private college.

Good thing for her because the  graduate degree requirement for a LCSW is ridiculous. It is not necessary for the tasks and skills required. I am basically doing the same job with an ADN RN degree. The tuition investment I made for the same return is just a small fraction of what a Master's degree costs. Not worth it.

We don't know if the Browns paid the whole cost. Mariah might have student loans from Westminster. Just because it was discussed on the show doesn't make it so.

I got my MSW from a state school and now I am a retired LCSW.  I can be done a less expensive way.  Ongoing training to keep the license is required regardless of graduate school.

It is with nursing as well. 30 CEs a year. Most are available free. Yes it can be done more economically. I just don't think the graduate degree is necessary to the career and job duties.

I peaced out at ‘It’s like really important for us to be able to have a conversation...’ I’m rooting for these kids but part of rooting for them is knowing when to say, ‘You know, I’m good here.’

It seemed vapid and smug to me.  I think the purpose of an AMA is to deal with questions directly, the diversions with the dogs was distracting and unnecessary.

This isn’t that recent but I liked it because I don’t get to watch the show.

Wow.  My daughter is 22 years old and I am so very very thankful that she can string together sentences that don't include "like" into each sentence three or four times.  I watched the whole thing,  I think its interesting that Mariah has her own therapist but I don't understand the statement when she was talking about her eyebrows that she "now uses "x" product for her eyebrows and now they stay on"  Are they some artificial thing that is stuck in place!!??

I don’t know guys, if you have to constantly bring it up, who are you trying to convince? Humor me this. Mariah needed to find her place in this family and in this world. She, from what we’ve seen, never stood out in any way. Lots of people, especially young, go through that searching phase. Personally, in this particular case, I am not convinced. I think she will have a husband some day. I know it’s controversial but something about it doesn’t seem genuine to me. She thinks she’s so “woke,” but I ain’t buying it.

(Mods, please  remove as you see fit if I am out of line here.)

I feel the same regarding the constant postings--just my opinion (and it could very well be wrong)-there appears to be a constant need for social media validation with the non-stop photo posting and comments. I also hypothesize that Mariah keeps her hair black to avoid resemblance with her mother. She may not have control over her features, but she does have control over her hair color. Their relationship may be mended a bit, but what's been swept under the rug is still there.
