Meh, I  kind of don't get the extreme hate for Kim (or really any of them).  One thing I will say for Kim is this: Point out one time Kim has ever been mean to anyone that we know of? I know people say that she is bitchy to her family on the show, but I think we all know, and most who criticize her for her behaviour on the show bitch about this - that the show's storylines are scripted and pretty much fake.  Name one time she has ever done harm to another person, or a time she has behaved cruelly? Name one time she has been arrested, had a drug problem or bullied any fellow celebrities ala Paris Hilton, or Martha Stewart's recent jabs at Gwyneth Paltrow? What has she ever done that was shitty exactly? Was it her fault that millions of people wanted to be a voyeur into her life and she thought to herself that she could make some real money off of that?  The people that hate her most seem to watch every episode of the show and comment on every little detail.  Yeah, she may be a narcissist, but so what.  Doesn't effect my life and trust me when I tell you that a lot of celebrities and actors are just as self absorbed.  

And it really rubs me the wrong way how much the word whore is thrown around on this board.  So she made a sex tape.  Is Jennifer Lawrence (not to mention all the other actresses who were recently hacked) a "whore" since she took nude pics?  It seems so misogynistic.  And I give zero fucks if she released it on purpose.  It affects my life in no way, she was of age, and if she did want it released it was her choice.  And it worked, I guess.

Kourtney is pretty far along in her pregnancy. It's possible the slit ripped up higher than it had been when she put it on and she was attempting to keep it closed, Her belly would have been pulling it open. Unlike Kim whose huge ass tears seams and rips zippers that are trying to contain it.

And again, it's not like them being "mean" is the only valid reason to hate a public figure.  Being a snob, or being a poseur, or being a bad example to children, or any number of other things can combine to make someone totally unpalatable.  Kim fits most of that.  I doubt any of it merits any kind of white hot hatred, or anything of that nature, but it DOES seem to open the door for mockery (even though that's not nice... it's hard to get too high on a horse about that aspect because Kim builds her career on being noticed and talked about--she's profiting at the expense of the occasional dig).

Kanye had North "paint" an Hermes bag for Kim's Bday gift. When Kim opened it she thought is was painted by a famous artist. I guess it joined its mate with the porno painting on it that Kanye gave her last year.

 

They went to Hawaii for a  "daycation" and shopped for two hours in the GAP!!! She hasn't been there for years!! I would respect Kim if she was the brains behind her success, but she isn't. Kris Jenner is the mastermind behind that one. It's not like Kim would have any idea how to go about setting up deals, working out contracts, meeting with producers etc. Kris does all that and Kim just shows up to sign on the dotted line and do photo shoots. She's a puppet, not a creator. 

 

In addition, she literally has done nothing to use her celebrity for the purpose of helping others or to give back in any kind of way. So, what is there to respect?

The fact that Kim attempted to draw a comparison to her show and I Love Lucy made my head explode. I've read a few books about the making of that show and the work the writers put in to come up with creative, unusual and hilarious storylines. That was a groundbreaking show in so many ways: a woman who was the guiding force behind it, the use of the camera and live audience, one of the first openly mixed marriages and an early pregnancy on television (though they couldn't say the word "pregnant."). To compare having a camera crew follow you around all day on some invented storyline that was laid out to make your glamorous life more interesting to the work professional writers and performers did over the course of six years is shameful. Especially when the show can still stand up over 60 years later -- it's still fun to watch on a cold Saturday morning while you're stretched out on the couch. There ain't nothing Kardashian holding up after 60 years, no matter how much they nip, tuck and pull. Get the fuck over yourself and your stupid show.

 

If reality tv wants respect, it needs to back away from people like the Kardashians and the Honey Boo Boos. Even if her shows were on a higher level than some of the other ones, she has to consider her genre and what she's lumped in with. They signed up for it, they make money off it and they need to accept that even if they're not actually trashy, they're still lumped in with a D-list category of television -- a very popular category, of course.

 

And it probably is hard work for her, which is also a little mind-numbing for me. She'll never understand what it's like to have to actually work work -- like physical work, or getting fired or laid off, or having to prioritize how you'll spend your money or time because you don't have enough of either, work with people you don't like or don't like you or all the myriad of ways real people actually work in the real world. Kim wasn't raised to do real work, and I'm sure this is what she considers hard work. I also think if it was too hard, she'd stop in a minute simply because she can.
