She'll never understand what it's like to have to actually work work -- like physical work, or getting fired or laid off, or having to prioritize how you'll spend your money or time because you don't have enough of either, work with people you don't like or don't like you or all the myriad of ways real people actually work in the real world. Kim wasn't raised to do real work, and I'm sure this is what she considers hard work. I also think if it was too hard, she'd stop in a minute simply because she can. I've encountered certain people in that age range that emphatically refuse the arm holding/walking with them stuff, and it's hard to tell from a single random picture if she's one of them. If it were my grandmother, I would either adjust my gait to sync with hers or insist that both "ladies" be dropped at the door while hubby parked the car. In fact I can pretty much guarantee that any male member of my family would automatically do the door drop and also go get the car for a pickup. Thats just good manners.
