Now T-Rav's on Instagram endorsing Trump and trashing Hillary....I shouldn't be surprised by his political leanings, but it still makes my skin crawl seeing him so proudly defending someone like Trump---I guess he considers himself quite similar to Donald Trump, and he wouldn't be too far off that mark...

Well he lost any bit of good will I have left towards him.  Who am I kidding.  I always thought TRave was fairly gross so now I have just one more reason.

Patricia hasn't evacuated either.

Personally, I've been injured in a tornado so I don't like storms and would left along ago.

The most shocking thing in her twitter feed is she is wearing jeans and sitting on JD and Elizabeth's new motorcycle! https://mobile.twitter.com/Pataltschul/status/784241892636581892

Just saw Cooper Ray on the Weather Channel in a fetching yellow rainjacket and rain hat. He lives down in the Battery area and was interviewed on camera saying (as he's also tweeted) that he's been checking on neighbors and fellow members of his church who chose to stay in their homes. Sounds like many are older folks. He mentioned rolling up rugs and boarding up windows yesterday. Good neighbor!

Hurricane story should be worked into the season since they are filming now. I would think. Lots of my friends in Charleston have left, a few stayed, and prayers be with them.

Shep is probably at his family's home in Linville, having a few drinks and kicking back in the sun.

I'm not so sure Shep left, after all. From his tweets he was taking a wait-and-see attitude, surfing, and hanging out at the local bars that were still open, but that was two days ago and his recent tweets don't say where he is.

From Twitter accounts: Cameran (and invisible hubby) also stayed in Chas, probably because he's a doctor. Seems like Naomie and Craig stayed late but then evac'd toward the mountains. Jen Snowden and baby Ascher (and I assume Unknown Baby Daddy) went to Asheville. T-Rav took the kids and evac'd. Kathryn is just tweeting her usual fashion selfies and re-tweeting posts from people who say they won't watch the show if she's not on it.

Oh, and Landon also stayed in Chas.

Following up on what RedHawk posted above, Cooper Instagrammed a photo of his Weather Channel appearance.

Looks like Kathryn will be back after all:

She said in an interview she is clean, and randomly drug tested regarding custody. She says she has passed all of the tests since returning from Rehab.

Hmm Savannah is suppose to be charming like Charleston right?

Though do they have someone like Thomas or Kathryn lined up or will it basically be another Real Housewives show but under the Southern Charm billing instead?

Savannah is known as the "Hospitality City" and has its own kind of charm.  Savannah residents are known to be interestingly quirky.  (See: Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, for example.)  They love a good party!  Downtown Savannah has no laws against open containers.  You can be downtown at 10 in the morning and folks are walking the streets with alcoholic beverages in hand!  Also a big influence on the city is Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) which has been and continues to be a major player in the revitalization and restoration of downtown Savannah.  SCAD owns and has restored something like 70-80 buildings in Savannah's beautiful downtown. Savannah is also known as "America's Most Haunted City" which could make for good TV too.  I think Southern Charm Savannah could end up being even more interesting than its predecessor.  Of course, it all depends on how Bravo presents it and who they end up casting.

I'm not thrilled that Kathryn's back, but more than likely she's been asked back because the new girl in the cast must be so boring that they need someone like Kathryn to stir up some real drama/action. Just the fact that the new girl has barely been mentioned and seems all but barely there in the cast snapshots on Instagram so far is reason enough for me to believe she's a dud already.

As for SC Savannah? I cannot *wait* to finally see a prominent reality show display just how awesomely fun and fabulous that beautiful gem of a city it truly is---it's such a cooler, wackier, more hard-partying city than Charleston; a lot of locals there jokingly refer to it as "Charleston's Slutty/Naughty Little Sister". There's also a funny saying among Georgian folks: "If you go to Atlanta, the first question people ask you is, "What's your business?" In Macon they ask, "Where do you go to church?"  But in Savannah the first question people ask you is "What would you like to drink?"

My family has owned a rental home in the heart of Savannah's downtown historic district for most of my life, so we've known and seen quite a few local eccentrics around there, several of whom I'm hoping might even end up as part of the cast((or at least featured at a few parties/gatherings))---I'll be down there for the Christmas season and am hoping this show will be shooting around there then, but I'm willing to bet shooting won't even begin until the Spring, which is absolutely gorgeous in Savannah.

Would love to see the Charleston cast finally film a weekend partying in Savannah since it's barely two hours away from them!

YES!!! Hello, 2nd Biggest SPD celebration in the country: they'd be bigger morons than T-Rav and Kathryn to not capture that Savannah-style madness, so let's hope the production properly captures that city's annual celebration.

Had the opportunity to enjoy a SPD back in the 90s.  Still one of my favorite things  I have done.  Would have loved to retire there, but it is not in the cards.

Yeah but Southern Charm is suppose to be about the genteel southerners, hence the Charm.

Of course then they sold out and made Kathryn the center of the show.

You don't expect members of the most well-heeled families to do a TV show, unless they're a mess like Thomas Ravenel.

I hope they do try to cast at least some more refined people rather than the types who go out for Real Housewives.  Then again, they always have to have people who will overdo it with alcohol and other drugs.  The more out of control, the melodrama these shows get, and better ratings, unfortunately.

If it's haunted you're interested in and you do make it down to Savannah, you should consider staying at the Marshall House.  Lovely, classic, downtown hotel located right on the main shopping street, near all restaurants and attractions AND HAUNTED!  Here's a link to the hotel's page which tells of its haunted history:

Hopefully Whitney is using a seasoned reality tv casting director or producer. Whitney's instincts are terrible. He thinks his storylines on the show are eminently interesting, when nothing could be further from the truth. It's also pretty clear that Kathryn, the Kathryn and Thomas relationship, and Patricia were intended to be C stories or background texture that enriched the community and story that Southern Charm was trying to show us. Unfortunately, none of the stories that Whitney hoped the show would tell or the people he hoped it would showcase were the least bit interesting. That meant that some of the background accidental elements were pushed to the forefront.

When you say the show should stay away from Real Housewives types and cast refined people, I think that depends on the housewives cast and city. D.C. died because they couldn't get any prominent socialites or D.C. movers and shakers to be involved. Atlanta and Potomac have had similar issues; they also had Jack and Jill threaten to banish members if Jack and Jill was mentioned on camera. The reality is that socialites and refined members of the community want nothing to do with reality TV. Beverly Hills is the only franchise where this hasn't been much if of an issue, but that's due to the overriding influence of the nearby film and tv industry. New York has been able to get women of some prominence, but only after a scandal or on their way down from high society. They're adding Tinsley Mortimer to next season's cast.

A slightly better model is Ladies of London. Though there is/was a decent amount of scandal with some of the ladies. Annabelle Nielson was a former party girl friend of Alexander McQueen. Julie Montagu is an American and is the future Countess of Sandwich. Caroline Fleming lost her title as a Danish duchess when she married Ian "James Bond" Fleming's nephew, later divorced him, and got knocked up by a footballer who was significantly younger. Caroline Stanbury was also known as a bit of a party girl, but has since married and had kids. Most of their fights are a series of cutting remarks.

However, this all takes an immense amount of talent of recognize interesting people who have no qualms about being themselves on television. I don't know that Whitney has the skill to identify those potential castmembers.

  • Love 3

Please keep Whitney's skeevy paws of the spin offs. Please. So, Whitney's connected to Ladies of London via Caroline Fleming then? Interesting. I have just binge watched all of SC and I'm happy to see some of the RH posters involved here also. Looking forward to upcoming seasons, preferably with Kathryn involved. Although, if she does miss a season, or a couple, or appears back in kind of FOH mode for now, I think she'll be a serious contender somewhere further down the track. Especially if she grows up and does something interesting in the meantime. (Real Housewives of Charleston?!!) That girl is 'polarising' for real (as opposed to the shady way that word was used recently by Andy Cohen at the OC Reunion with respect to Kelly MegaDudd). There is an 'it' quality to Kathryn, a certain je ne sais quoi that I think will age like a good bourbon. Maybe not Gentry. Speaking of Gentry, I went through the site thoroughly. JD needs to run it past a proof reader/editor. It is very professionally put together, but the wording is clunky and low brow, which is at odds with the fine old historical tenor he's trying to hit with the site. I've read here that it may all be a facade, but I did go as far as playing with a booking and pulled out before paying etc.

This show sucked me in within a couple of episodes and I sincerely hope it continues. I welcome the New Orleans spin off also, but not with Whitney's involvement.

  • Love 2

The reason this show exists is because Whitney amd his friend created and cast it and sold it to Bravo. So this notion that he would ruin it seems crazy weird. That said it seems likely given the amount of producers involved is that Whitney is an exec producer in title only and to make money because he is the "creator. "

  • Love 4

That's sad. I loved Cooper, and I thought his decision to call the pseudo Southern Grande Dame Patricia out on her bullying of Kathryn, commendable and gentlemanly. I know this is being interpreted in the article above as a play for more screen time, given the cameras were 'flocking' to Kathryn. That doesn't make sense, because the cast were doing then what they've continued to do into the filming of Season 4, which is refuse to film with Kathryn in some cases. If Cooper wanted screentime, he'd be guaranteed to get it as yet another of Patricia's 'colourful' male lapdogs.  Patricia basically gave Cooper an ultimatum. I think Cooper's decision was based on general principle when handed such an ultimatum by a 'friend': he did the opposite of their wishes. Filming as Kathryn's friend was a risky strategy, given Kathryn has a history of turning on her friends (Jennifer Snowden at the Series 3 reunion, for example).

However, I am perturbed by the sock puppet twitter accounts and I was disappointed until I read the exchange in the article. Questionable though it is to have these accounts, I didn't really see how Cooper's exchanges were much different from what Whitney and Patricia were doing. Whitney in particular is dealing from a position of power in regards to this show, being an original EP, although I've heard this has become an 'in name only' deal lately and he isn't involved in casting and storyline decisions anymore (that's what I've heard, correct me if I'm wrong). Whitney has his mother on his side and the ability to make the life of other cast members difficult due to his involvement with the show as an EP. I think Cooper was standing up for underdog Kathryn.

In the comments under the article above, we again see the double standard alive and well with respect to Kathryn, where she is attacked for her parenting. Thomas is not held to this standard, it doesn't seem to cross the minds of some people that this man, with the full support of Whitney and Patricia, is coparenting the children, has full custody at the moment, weaseled out of a proper drug test when she did hers and is twice her age and continuing to consort with porn stars and other undesirables and is frequently filmed either hungover, slurring or obviously under the influence. Whitney is always fully behind Thomas's ongoing gaslighting of Kathryn. I think Cooper has been genuinely concerned for Kathryn and has tried to support her and stand by her. At Thomas's notorious 'Words of Wisdom' dinner party, it was Cooper trying to shut him down and it was Cooper physically pulling Thomas off the street when he was pursuing the golf cart and behaving like a mad dog. I'm certainly disappointed that Cooper wont be appearing on Southern Charm next season. And I can only hope that Kathryn will be strong enough to appear and to try and recover and stand firm in the face of some really nasty pack attacks led by the likes of Patricia and Whitney.

To welcome in the new year, Thomas made a (most likely drunken) appearance on Twitter last night railing against the owner of an Upper King Street bar.  Well, if anyone could give temper tantrum lessons, it would be you, T-Rav.  Stay classy!

Edit:  I am assuming this relates to whatever may have occurred at Proof cocktail bar last night.  A Google Map featuring "T-Rav Free Zones" has popped up online.  I can't stop laughing at this! :D

T-Rav blows the argument for "good breeding" out of the water. God what an embarrassment. If anyone was a blow hard wimp ass it is him. If I lived in the area I would gladly support a T-Rav free business. I'm paying to have a nice time. Not to have it ruined by some jerk with more money than manners.

There goes that JD Madison again. The owner of Sermet's and bit player on Bravo's Southern Charm announced on Twitter today that his King Street restaurant will be changing to Gentry Bar in March.

We noticed the space was shuttered this weekend when we spotted brown paper covering all of the windows. Details regarding the redux are limited, but according to a tweet, there may or may not be a horsey look to the updated space.

Here's the link to the Sermet's tweet.  (I think we're still not supposed to embed tweets any more?)

TRav has become quite the master of dirty deletes here lately. I caught the one with a woman two weeks ago. He was literally torn apart on his Instagram account. The woman was not pleasant by any means and more than likely a random hook up. He dirty deleted a picture last night of Kathryn in labor with Kenzie and how sad he is that fame and fortune can ruin a family because it was truly an american tragedy. I just don't get it. This guy had it made in court. There is no way he could have passed a random drug test then or now. I am sure Kathryn was on drugs, but to ONLY have her go to rehab and have her kids taken away from her does not make sense when Thomas is doing the same, if not more.

  • Love 1

I saw both those deleted IG pics---what is wrong with him?! It's almost like he enjoys the negative attention. I just can't believe the guy gets so stupidly drunk that he somehow composes these long screeds beneath his pics he uploads and then wakes up the next day feeling embarrassed over them to the point of quick morning-after deletion. He has to like the negative attention on some level, because he got ripped a new asshole in the comments on that post he made all about Kathryn.

I don't even like the gal and think she's nuts as well, but I don't think it's fair or proper to publicly disparage the mother of your children either, no matter what. Like Trump, someone seriously needs to take away his social media privileges for his own good and that of his poor children.

According to several cast members' social media accounts, sometime this Spring!

I'm actually excited for Season 4. Looks like there will be new blood, not just one, but three or so.

Shep also said something to the effect that he's also genuinely excited for this new season. He wasn't too happy with Season 3 because he felt there was too much producer manipulation.
