Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I really think this is 7 year old Phil's dream and Jill ran with it. 7 yo Philly probably thought he'd pop over and feed the Hungary folks and be back in bed before sundown. Now Jill has made it a mission - Phil's mission.

But lets see if Phil and his car last the 2 years at school. Or that 3rd year - to get his Master's. 🙃

But there's still the problem of Queen Jill's losing control over another one of her subjects. She didn't handle Nurie's and Tim's departures well. Jill has only a vague idea of where Hungary is, but she knows it's far away and full of young women.

Imagine if Philip brought home a Gabor sister type of wife! Someone beautiful and funny with a cute accent would make Queen Jill turn green with envy!

I don’t usually visit this thread, but dropped by…..I’ve gone back several pages…..but still am wondering…..who are these people?  Lol.

they are just another large family that used to be 'friends' of the Duggar's and are like-minded in their beliefs.  in reality, they are just as deceived and misguided as the Duggar's, Bates', Plath's and all the rest of them.

Yeah, it remains to be seen if Jill can loosen up those apron strings and allow Philip to move overseas.  David may make her though, he knows at least one of the boys has to leave and cleave.  They can't keep on housing and feeding those boys forever.

“Feeding.”  *snort*  They barely feed their kids.

Do Kaylee and Renee get to keep the money they make on Etsy, as paltry as it is?

Doubt it. I’m sure JillRod used her grifted money to buy the “supplies” to make the earrings so any money made would automatically go back to her.

Is that Jonathan with Janessa in the background?

Yes it is.

At first, I thought it was a stranger staring at the Rodrigues Family Circus commandeering all the washers and dryers and showing off their laundry--or at the crazy blond directing and photographing it all.

Because they have to show what a close loving family they are, who just can’t bear to be apart, and because god knows none of those kids can be home alone for a minute without falling into the hands of satan.  Or maybe they were expecting the second coming of Lord Daniel of the Laundromat!

I wonder which poor kid got the lucky job of washing and folding GWE’s tighty whities.

Alas, she didn't care about this part when she was at her conference for 3 days with her "hot" husband. SO BLESSED.

I’m disappointed. No J-Rod trip to the laundromat should be complete without an anecdote about converting a new heathen to Jesus. Jill is slipping.

The Lord named Daniel has all the laundromats covered, so no need for Jill to bother.

JillR endlessly tries to prove to us that she and her family have SO MUCH FUN! I don't buy it for a minute. I think that when the camera goes off, the hammer comes down. Obedience to Jill is the number one thing she teaches her children. She's a horrible narcissist, imo. If I saw her and her brood caterwauling away in a laundromat, I'd run in the other direction.

I did a little reading online about the Rodriguez family.  So,……are they the same family that was featured in a tv special, possibly by TLC, many years ago about a religious family who traveled church to church singing for their keep?  They actually lived in their tour bus/travel trailer.  Some of the older kids were starting relationships or planning to move away at the time.  I have slightly more than a vague memory of the special.  Anyone know who they were?  I’ll estimate it aired at least 10 years ago.

Just think--the kids got 3 whole days without Jill and Shrek!  The best 3 days of their lives!!!

I bet they are terrified every minute the parents are gone. Surely the food was inventoried before jill left so no extra would be eaten and they are surely trained to rat each other out on any little thing.

My MIL would leave for a few days when her kids were teenagers. FIL and all the kids knew you did not touch the pots and pans or use real plates. Once when i was there, fil and 3 teenagers were all actually afraid to cook a chef boyardee pizza kit in a box because she would know they used it and used a pan to bake the thing.

also there was no touching her washing machine and yes she is still a control freak to this day.

No, you’re probably referring to the show with Allen Family Ministries, Home Sweet Bus.

My first thought was that that could make an awesome version of Green Acres, with fundies substituted for the yokels, but then I realized that with Philip in the Eddie Albert role, the show would have no straight man. Now I'm trying to figure out an alternate premise...

Yes - without the entire brood, Jill couldn't direct the 13-part harmonies of the songs they sung.  In the middle of a laundromat.  LOUDLY.

I'm sure Jon-Boy had to bring all of his change for the washers and dryers, too, as well as toting Janessa around. JillyBean sure wasn't going to pay for the washers and dryers!

Did you all clock the amount of laundry they were folding?  I mean I know there's a lot of them but each kid had several large piles in front of them - almost as if they dug out every single item of clothing in the entire Barndo and washed it...although if Jonathan paid for the laundromat, maybe that's exactly what Jill did.  Why wash 8 days' worth if you can wash for the entire year.

Proof positive Jilly did not pay.

ETA: Or else someone in the laundromat heard them "singing" (Daniel, maybe?) and were so moved that they were not only saved but they paid for all of their laundry to be done! We all know how blessed Jilly is... so it could happen...

That was my first thought - why are all of them there? Probably all the better to god-bother people. Was anyone saved in this laundromat? But most importantly, was Daniel there?

At that point I'd put on Twister Sister videos and play them LOUDLY. If I have to listen to their crappy music then they can listen to mine.
