I like Mary Beth and glad for her success.   I still wished Kassie won so it would had been the fuck you to Days for canning her. 

What Mary's and True's wins taught me that TomSell is good writing for teens and young people.   Chandler,  Freddie,  and now True winning Emmys. Then when it comes to writing for vets Higley/Griffith writes well to get these actors Emmys. 

Crazy the blonde Brigade of Susan Flannery,  Eileen Davidson and now MEB has won Best Actress for Days.   Good stuff.

I am so glad MBE won the best actress Emmy award. I still remember when she was just working at her mother's pub and little more than an extra. It is about time the woman got a major storyline and her talent is rewarded.

I'm not sure who this guy is, but he documented his day on the set of Days.  It's pretty cute.

 

Ah.  It turns out he's the husband of GMA weather reporter Ginger Zee, and is a reporter in New York.

 

I guess he's in LA because Ginger is doing Dancing With the Stars.

Does anyone know the timeline for DC coming back on the show? He was very bitter and said his character was thrown under the bus. Now he's back on contract with the show that he complained about. It doesn't make sense to me.

I love that she won, even if the award itself doesn't carry the same weight it once did. She is always right on in every scene.

She wasn't the best actress when she came on the scene at Days. As a matter of fact, I felt Stephen carried her for a while. They always had mad chemistry, though, and that was enough for me as a teen. But over the years, at least for me, she has certainly become the strongest actress Days has on the roster.

It's funny watching her first few days when Kayla was in scenes with Chris and her family (before Steve and Kayla became a thing). From watching those scenes you would have no idea MBE would become as strong as an actress as she has become because honestly she was not that great. 

But part of it (in my opinion) is that Stephen is such a strong and (I don't mean this negatively because I think he is fantastic actor) overpowering actor that sometimes unless the person in the scene with him can hold their own, they can be lost in the scene.  MBE is a quieter actress and seems like she doesn’t need to be the center of attention, rather she makes her focus on the other person.  However, I believe she came into her own during the rape and the deaf storylines.  That was when I feel like she became a stronger actress and personally I think the Emmy for her portrayal of Kayla was way overdue.

I hope my rambling makes sense because I’m not 100% certain how to say what I’m thinking.

I definitely think she's become a stronger actress as the years go by... Someone posted some of her first days in Salem recently, where she went around and had scenes with Chris, Savannah, Shawn, Caroline, Kimberly, Alice, Mike, etc., and it was so fun to see what a great connection she had with all of them right from the start.

I've always connected with MBE because she isn't the typical soap actress... she comes at things from a different angle than a lot of the actresses who are recognized as heavy hitters and it's always been more relatable to me.  Some of my favorite material for her of all time was all of the subtext in the marriage to Jack... all of the complicated feelings that weren't spelled out

Good interview, but it sounds like Aiden's storyline is going to be a massive bummer. I liked him for who he was a year ago... this new darker version? With the secrets? And the rapist son?

Impossible to want Hope to get back together with that.

But this is the point. Higlemonster is going to make all the fans who prefer Aiden to her beloved Rafe look and feel stupid for not seeing the awesome in Rafe that only she sees because it doesn't exist -- and you will damn well like it.

Too bad for Dena I can be all "no thanks!" to both! Hope would be better off batting for the other team if those two are her only options of the male species.

LMFAOOOOO....  THE FIRST NAME THAT POPPED IN MY HEAD WAS ANNE! 

Sighs... 

But yeah I like that Cosgrove will be embracing the new and improved ShadyAiden.   He explains in that interview when he was first brought onto the canvas they didn't have a name for him under TomSell.   They just pretty much threw him in the fire.   Now he has more character now.   He's basically Matt Durning but probably more dicky and conning.

I actually wouldn't mind if the twins returned-  I liked Cassie and enjoy Kate in her family element and they could interact with Lucas.

Aiden: Hey, bee tee dubs, as I was being held captive, I saw Will Horton. Apparently he's been there since like January of 2014. Don't know who Sonny married and who betrayed Sami and who Horita is but...NOT Will Horton. I tried to let him go but couldn't find him again.

Or even... all of that and it was Will who did all that shit...but he was replaced right before Ben showed up. Whatever.
