I wasn't sure where to post this question or if anyone here is interested in discussing this but....

One thing that infuriates me about these two is that by now, they should know better.

The question that rolls around in my mind though is this: How old and/or at what point in your life do you go from being an innocent kid to accountable/snark-worthy? I doubt there is a single "right" answer but just the same would like to hear others' views on this just out of curiosity (and not to start a debate).

Possible answers in my mind are 1) 2-3 years after you've left the TTH or maybe by age 25?

I think once you're 18, you are fair game, but if you're so dull that your life doesn't merit being remarked upon (like Joe), then ramp it up to courtship. That's when they really start to get individual attention. Even now at 27, Jana and JD are just pitiful appendages of their parents.

When they start spewing hate on social media? IMO, the snark prior to that, at least on here, is mostly sarcastically funny in regard to the younger ones. Even snarkish concern in some cases.

Do the parents teach the boys and the girls about marital sex?  If they learn the rules from the Bible, what does that really teach them?  Or do they get married and have no clue what to do and figure it out together?  Would a married sister ever talk to an engaged sister about what they might do or expect on their wedding night?

For the boys, Jim Bob uses Legos.

Michelle tells the girls "don't worry, it doesn't take long" , though Anna told her sister Priscilla what she could expect on her wedding night.

Can you imagine? Poor Anna had Josh the perv as her only experience. Poor Pris must have been utterly confused when it was time to lie down w TFDW.  Probably very different experiences

Well, it seems the marriage between Prissy and TFDW was an unqualified success. They look healthy and have 3 healthy kids.

Josh is pasty and corpulent and has disgraced his family. TFDW may be a smug and obnoxious little pecan thief, but he has done right by his wife and kids and has managed to stay employed and isn't on his family's teat.

Josh is sadly and woefully unemployable.  His only hope is to write a tell all.  I think Josh despises Boob as much as Boob despised his father.

There's that Christian message board called the Marriage Bed. I lurked there once, and wowza, they hold nothing back (both sexes, sometimes on the same thread). I don't think you can lurk there any longer (this had to be over 10 years ago). but it wouldn't surprise me one bit if they talked about sex toys.

I think there are probably a lot of skeletons crammed into many closets of the Putnam household.  I don't think they should be on TV.  No more kids on reality TV please.  It isn't good for them.

 

JB and M are the worst.  That's all I have to add at this point.  Well, I am sort of amused as I image JB's face turning red as he witnesses Derick's idiocy.
