I saw pictures from Leah's premiere party and Madonna's daughter, Lourdes, was there...wonder if that has anything to do with the reference and seeming desire to emulate.

Lourdes looks like a lovely girl...LOL. Now I know where Leah got this whole converting to Judiasm schtick from...Madonna follows the Kabbalah cult. It is not a recognized branch of organized Judiasm. It is a cult like group steeped in mysticism that a lot of celebrities have flocked to. Many years ago I ordered the red bracelet that is worn by members of this group...my daughter wanted one for her friend's birthday so I ordered it...what a mistake! They called me and launched into a 20 minute sales pitch on joining them and it was bordering on being harassment. Very cultish persuasionary tactics and they called me back the next week. I didn't answer and then I blocked their calls.

Well...judging from the outfit Leah's wearing in the photo included in this article, something tells me her conversion was a no-go.

Me too! Me too! I received calls, books and pamphlets for over two years! Once someone even offered to come to my home to teach me.

Her sister’s baby daddy is Jewish. She’s filmed being with them on holidays, showed him lighting the menorah. I thought Leah was converting to enlarge her dating pool.

Yep...it's a cult and Leah would be a great prospect for them...high profile from being on reality TV would be a huge deal for them. I'm sure her sister's baby daddy is Reform or Conservative. Probably isn't very observant except around the High Holidays and Hanukkah.

I know of several people who have converted to Judaism because it's more structured and more present in daily life.

In fact, I was just watching a documentary about Steven Spielberg, and his wife Kate Capshaw was attracted to the religion for similar reasons. She converted before they married.

I can see Leah needing something that injects structure in her world. She seems a little fragile to me - as if she needs something firm in her life.  Judaism seems like a reasonable solution.

An added perk is an expanded dating pool - especially in NYC, but I doubt she'd do something so dramatic for that reason alone. Then again....you never know.

I really hated how Andy wanted to have her on this show when THAT is the only thing she was famous for.  It speaks pretty badly of him and her.

I also think Andy was impressed with the way she handled the #MeToo/Asia Argento/Mira Sorvino spats. I get she’s a Mom, outspoken, a street wear designer, podcaster, advice columnist, but I don’t like her on the show.

I REALLY liked Leah last year, but Eboni is giving her a run for her money this year.

I mean it's pretty early in the season, but.....man. Eboni gets people and knows how to communicate. She corralled Ramona in a heartbeat and EFFECTIVELY - and without causing a curfuffle.

Leah just admonishes people which is the ONE thing I don't like about her. She's very judgemental in her delievery.

I wanted to smack her when she was talking about Lu drinking non-alcoholic beverages out of a wine glass.  I get what she was saying, but her delivery just isn't going to be effective. All she managed to do was push Luanne away. I hope she learns from Eboni.

Eboni is my girl crush. Well, maybe that's not right. Eboni is who I would like to be when I grow up. So far, I like just about everything about her - including her fashion!

Eboni's and Sutton's (RHBH) fashion aesthetics are my favaorites from any RH cast member - past or present.

Kudos to Ramona for significant personal growth.  Like Sonja said, she's come a long way! I would like to see Sonja be more open about her situation and feelings. I hope we see that as the season goes on because I think that would be good for her but I'm not sure she will.

Thank you!  Just went to my online library and got a copy (no Kindle version, epub only).

In the first chapter I've discovered that Jenna Keough was in ZZ Top's Legs video and Kara was in the movie Outbreak.

So far, a bit wordy, but fun!

I remember when the show was new, many on forums thought Jeana was exaggerating her old life but she had a pretty great career, she even has her own Nagel portrait.
I ordered a copy too!

Let us know if there’s any good dish.  Isn’t he the guy who wrote Erica’s biography?  For which I’m not sure I can believe him on everything.

Yes, but he didn’t interview her for this book because Bravo told all the housewives not to cooperate with him. He initially talked with Bravo about doing it officially but they wanted final edit. The book is mostly behind the scenes people and ex-housewives.

I will definately sign up. Thank you!

Overdrive, through your local library is awesome!

The book?  Not so much.  We Primetimers have already figured a lot of the "behind the scenes" stuff.  Like production paying for trips or putting gossip into a house wife's ear to get a reaction or staggering arrival times to create conflicts.

An example is RHOC, Tamra throwing wine in Jeanna's face.  Production made Jeana wait 5 hours before arriving at Vicki's party. Meanwhile, Tamra is there and they are feeding her wine.

He confirms that Theresa Guidice really is that mentally challenged and usually asks if they "got her take right and do they want to shoot it again".  Production nicknamed Tamra Judge, Camera Tamera, because she is always willing to do whatever they want from her, in front of the camera.

There really isn't anything juicy.  Mainly about production and the mark the show's have left on society. Even if he did have juicy stuff, his bias towards Housewives is obvious at times.  For example, nothing about Lisa Rinna really and he glows about Ericka (who's book he wrote) and in the chapter about illegal dealings, NOTHING is mentioned about Ericka financing her glamorous career off of stolen funds.  He also kind of glosses over Vicki's role in the cancer scam season.

Disappointing.

Oh I forgot an interesting tidbit.

He alludes to Bravo creating jobs to make a housewife more entertaining or to give them a storyline.  The example he used for a created job was Accountability Coach.....

Can’t stand Teddy (can’t stand Andy either) but I don’t think the concept of an accountability coach was the brain child of Satan Andy.

The winners of “unique” job titles in reality TV belongs to The Bachelor franchise; e.g. Chicken enthusiast, bachelor super fan, and amateur sex coach.

Teddy is not the first Accountability Coach I have heard of.

Personally, I have been waiting for this book to come out for what feels like a year, at least, so I'm happy it's finally out.  I read the introduction and so far I like it, so I'm happy I bought it.

If you are willing to share any tea along the way, I'd love to hear!

So far just that a lot of Housewives hear from other women that they were asked to be Housewives, but declined, and hearing about this is a big pet peeve among the Housewives 😄.  Kristen Taekman was quoted about this.   Something like, it's one thing to be asked, but actually getting a contract is something different.  A lot of people get asked.  LOL

Chapter 1 is chock full of juicy stuff.  To me, anyway.  It's how they chose the HWs.  Kristen Taekman was recommended by Brandi.  Yolanda recommended Erika. Almost every tidbit interests me so I wouldn't know how to share it.  It's just overwhelming.

Someone on Dallas recommended 2 people and then one of them was promoted and given a contract while the recommender was demoted to a friend of the cast.  I don't remember names though because I only watch RHONY.  They were all named Cary or something.  LOL.

Confession:  Haven't watched a single frame of this season.  I suspected this would happen at the conclusion of the previous season, and after reading that the skinny blonde...Leah would/could be the focus.  Don't care for her.

Aaaanywaaaay, haven't missed it, but appreciate that I can come here and read the high and lowlights.

Thanks to all of you for your sacrifice.

Sorry.  I missed this earlier.  I explained it poorly.

Bravo didn't come up with the concept of Accountability Coach.  However, per the book, they (Bravo), looks for ways to make a housewife more "interesting".  The example he used was basically the housewife having a "job" that is "fascinating" to the viewers.

And then he brought up Accountability Coach as an example of making a housewife more interesting.

Like the new acknowledgment that there never was a toaster line, it was all done for the show.

It left me wondering if this is why Luann has a cabaret "career".......

He basically kisses Erika’s ass, as expected 🙄 and this jackass’s comment about Melissa Gorga thinking about one more kid well after her fertility window was cracked- he can fuck right off. The woman is now 41, she can still have kids. What an idiot.

I thought that part was offensive. Yeah it was probably for storyline purposes but she’s still young and fertile.
