Really enjoyed the Marlena/Abby scenes. Deidre and Kate have a very natural chemistry. Hope we get to see them in more scenes together.

Yeah. It's so good that poor Widdle Abby can have a mother figure to lean on. She's been so deprived. So why not Sami's mother?

My 3 burning questions after today’s episode…

Is Marlena’s sole purpose on this show to just walk around town psycho-analyzing everyone including the home-wrecker that slept with her son-in-law?

Is Abigail’s mind just a continual loop of her sexual encounters?  It’s like a porn film stuck on repeat.

Did younger Jordan borrow that outfit from the Judy Garland’s memento collection? (Hello Jordan—you’re not in Kansas anymore. Dorothy called and she wants her dress back.)

The scenes between Abigail and Marlena seemed completely pointless in light of what her actual kids and step-kid are going through. What an odd time to stick a scene between Abigail and Marlena when all of her actual kids are up to the wazoo in stress. Okay, fine, Sami is polarizing so maybe a portion of the audience enjoys seeing Marlena not give two whits about her but there's Eric, who is struggling with his rape, and Brady, who is struggling with addiction issues.

The even weirder thing about the talk is that it was about....Ben. Snoresville.

I was wondering if Marlena had even met Ben before and then just figured she had force grown him in a lab. That made sense to me.

So, so many flashbacks today. We even got to see that rarest of things: the flashback-within-a-flashback, thanks to Abby's mind replaying the Locked in the Closet scene. I'm beginning to think that she only has capability to think about her sexual liaisons on a regular basis.

And I had no idea that Poplar Bluff's landscape looked so much like one of Salem's ubiquitous parks... except with people dressed like they shopped in Hooterville. Even with that "aw-shucks, ma'am" accent, George Hazard is acting rings around Jordan and her pained facial expressions.

As a relatively new viewer, I only really know OF Stefano, but have not seen him in action until today. Does he always talk like that -- please say yes, because it greatly amused me.

He rolled his r's very well today.  I treasure him because he is very old and we're seeing the last few scenes with him.  I thought he and Kate were great together but everyone is great with Kate.

Everyone in my office. It's not that unusual. It's a tool rather than the main thing to do the books with, though.

They're all over in one place I work. If a salesperson has to run a quick tally for a customer it's the quickest and easiest way. I am the bookkeeper though, and I never use one.

Somehow the original quote did not get captured, it was questioning why Ben was using a calculator at the bar. Sorry. Quoting on this tablet does not always work for me.

Marlena also pretends to be a caring mother by exposing a sex tape in a church, guilting Eric into giving up his chance at getting justice, and mostly ignoring Sami.

After getting fired from the job she never went to and facing devastating consequences for her role in the affair, thinking about sex with a man who isn't her boyfriend is the only thing The Mistress/The Supply Closet Girl has left. Please stop shaming her.

Believe it or not, Joe Mascolo is 85 and it was my understanding he wanted to retire years ago and that's the reason we don't see him very much.  In fact I thought I heard Peggy McKay was leaving this summer, she's almost 87!  So those last scenes with AS were pretty special.

Link to comment

With Joe Mascolo nearing the end of his run in terms of retirement, I really wish the writers would of set up Stefano's final demise with Sami leaving.  What an amazing way for her leave Salem in the wake of taking down the show's villain.  I will be pleasantly surprised if this is in the pipeline.

If that doesn't happen I really do with that the show is planning for the end of Stefano.  At least let the character and Joe go out with a bang on his terms, as opposed to an off screen death due to real life. The show is strong enough to survive without an omnipotent villain.  With EJ and Kristen off the show, if you need a Dimera to pop up in the future there is always Peter.

I think it's time for Stefano to die for good.  He is hardly ever on the show, but he is supposedly all knowing and all seeing except for when he gets blindsided for two seconds to set up Stefano being all seeing and all knowing.  It's gotten boring.  I think it would have been great for Kate and Sami's revenge scheme to have resulted in Kristen killing EJ and going to prison, Stefano seeing it happen, having a heart attack and dying.  Chad could be a Dimera more like Tony was.

  • Love 2

I like my Dimera villains over the top. Tony is hands down my favorite of the family, Andre comes a close second. Way behind him are Kristen (who would be rated much higher if it weren't for her involvement with Brady) and Peter. Original Tony (when he wasn't being impersonated by Andre) was a fantastic, layered character, and I think they tried to recreate that sort of Dimera with EJ. I don't think they succeeded, even though I enjoyed EJ at first. Maybe they can make it work with Chad, but I'm not holding my breath.

I agree that Stefano deserves a huge send off, but not at Sami's hands. In my fantasy world, Bo and Steve return and work together with the rest of that generation to take him down. Not going to happen, but it would be much more satisfying to me.

Abigail is a whore!  I can't stand Sami but I loved Sami going after her for fucking her husband.  Sami and Carrie should team up and go after this trashy little bitch for going after their husbands.  I want muscular Ben and Sonny together.  Sonny needs to divorce Will so this can happen.  Father Eric needs therapy because he thinks that sex is dirty!

I don't miss Bo one bit.  Especially now that Hope is throwing her disapproval face at Aiden . So I guess it was Hope's fault I don't miss him.

I was waiting for a better writer than I to comment on how every single thing Mar did made no sense.  While wishing hope beyond hope that Mar was trying to snag Abs into opening up then smacking her for seducing/trying to seduce two of her son-in-laws, she was disgustingly saccharine in her support of Abs???  Heads continue to spin.  I sort of like Ben because he seems a little insightful and calls out Abs often.  He knew she was thinking about Eej  and saw she was looking at him in TBD and Mar didn't seem to notice that at all.  Although she beeched at Eej.  More proof she has not bothered one iota to talk to Sami or she'd know about how aggressively Abs pursued the affair.

Diedre is a decent soap actress and she's legacy but it's up to her to portray the fact that she KNOWS how Mar is coming across.

Does Marlena know that Abigail pursued Austin? I figured she'd at least be offended by that because of Carrie...

Meanwhile, shouldn't Marlena be counselling Eric over not getting the chance to testify against his rapist because his mother asked him not to? Instead, she's talking about what Abigail is going through.

The more Corday and the writers prop those characters, the more they seem to be hated by the fans.

I bet Sami is relieved Marlena hasn’t stopped by to see her again.

Exactly--I actually felt nauseated at listening to T talk about how hot and amazing Abigail is.  I don't care how many of the characters say it, I will never find Abigail beautiful or interesting or deserving of all good things.  Instead, I think Abigail is entitled and dull and just slightly attractive.  The insane propping is causing me to find even more things to dislike about Abigail and I didn't think that was even possible.

And yes Jordan is pretty, but I thought Lucas was going to burst into tears over Jordan's needing to forgive Rafe and get back together with him.  Is it just me or is Lucas more broken up about Jordan and Rafe not being together anymore than Rafe is?

I also loved Sonny's acting like Sami and Will just had an argument that Sami needs to get over.  Why is everyone in Sami's life so determined to act as if her getting hurt is no big deal?  I also loved Will's editor not giving a crap that Abigail was named in the article--she is all about the bottom line--WOO HOO!!

Sami, “Stefano threatened to kill Kate, and called her a broken down whore.”  LMAO!!!  Kate did ask Sami to back her play so Sami went all in.  I love these two together.  I would watch a spinoff show with Kate and Sami.

Sami and Kate being surprised Rafe found evidence on his own was hilarious especially since he didn't.  The Salem PD just gets more incompetent by the day.

Lucas telling Sonny to work things out with Will, to learn from his mistakes – which mistakes is Lucas talking about?  Who he chose to marry, or not trying to save the marriage?  Also, I know Lucas loves Will, but Sonny deserves better.

So Lucas going over to the DiMansion to check up on Sami and Kate is never going to happen?

Hello Will, you sneasel, if you miss Sami so much maybe you should tell her, without you know putting her down, and telling her what a horrible mother she is, and that it is all her fault you wrote that article, etc.  Of course, this will never happen.

Sami's imitation of Stef was hilarious. I busted out laughing at her rolling the 'r's' and everything.  It just goes to show you how clueless the writers and producers are if it took them this long to put Sami and Kate on the same side.

Sami and Kate are gold together, too bad AS is leaving cause they have been the only bright spot for DOOL among a list of horrible stories.

I'm sick of Abby talking about how EJ & Sami belong together and how EJ disgusts her. She wasn't saying that when she opened all her holes to EJ now did she? It's funny how unattractive someone becomes when they dump your ass. Then she moves the box again so she can be locked in with Ben/Kevin/Ollie. This girl has some real mental issues. IDK what Ben/Kevin/Ollie sees in her.

I find it hard to believe that Grimace Sue keeps on with the same faces every single episode. Are they directing her to look like this everytime she's on? If the actress is doing this on purpose, she's really horrible and needs to go back to acting school. She grimaces when she's upset, shocked, scared, gives advice, happy, sad, friendly, having sex, just every emotion you can think of and she has the same face. SMDH.

Will is still a jerk. How in the hell can you ask Sonny for his opinion when your mind is already made up. That's a slap in the face and hate when people do that in real life. It really makes your opinion null and void and doesn't even matter. Since Zoe said she'll do it again, shouldn't that tell this idiot Will something. She'll go behind his back and alter the story. Sonny probably really regrets helping him get a job and even pointed out to Will that it doesn't matter that another family could possibly end up hurt and Will doesn't care as long as the truth comes out.

There's absolutely no reason why Lucas should be this concerned about Tamiflu.

I never thought I see the day where I would ever be cheering Kate on, but here we are. She and Sami are the only good thing about this trash show. I'm going to feel sorry for Kate when Sami leaves and she has to go back to sniffing around Rafe and Tamiflu.

Kate and Sami were so much fun today.  Sami getting her dig in and Kate knowing that Rafe isn't all that bright ... I'm really going to miss them together.

Has Sonny finally realized he married a complete moron?  There's no way any magazine worth a shit would pursue Will or that editor.  The concept of those two as competent professionals is almost as unbelievable as the idea that Abigail is hot.  She's bizarre looking, and that's being kind.

I do wish they would give Lucas more to do than prop Jordan and Abby, two of the most useless characters on this show.

Hm.  My post must have gotten lost when the crash happened.

I couldn't stop laughing at the "brokedown whore" lines.  And creepy Clyde actually looked pathetic today.

They're really trying to redeem EJ, with the phone call to the kids.

I don't understand why Victor fired Zoe, what did she do wrong?  Is it just to appease Maggie?  Good for her for landing on her feet, and Will should snap up the job, I don't understand Sonny's objections.

I'm disappointed in Lucas.  Sami didn't push Will's buttons.  That isn't why Will wrote the article.  Sami was at her home when several different people showed up, picked a fight with her, and lost.  Adrienne was one of those people, and when she called Will she completely left out the part about her starting an argument with Sami and losing.

Eric blaming Nicole for his urges is beyond disturbing.  Blaming and punishing women for the desires and actions of men is just ... barbaric.  The writers need to knock it off.

I agree.  I am so tired of this crap.  If Eric were mad at Nicole for shredding the evidence, and told her she had taken away his choice just like Kristen had, I would understand.  Blaming Nicole because he wants to have sex with her is just despicable.  Nicole, OTOH, needs to stop looking so pathetic and needy.

Marlena throwing Eric under the bus to save John isn’t all that surprising.  If it had been Sami, Marlena would have done it without a thought.  Since Kate, who hates Sami, was the one comforting Sami when Johnny was missing, I want this to happen:  Sami, Theresa, Nicole, and Kate team up to get rid of Kristen because watching these women interact with each other is way better than any of the horrible couples the writers keep trying to tell me is true love while the men blame the women for their actions.

I’m tired of EJ whining about Sami not forgiving him, acting like she has no reason not to trust him, and still being alive.  Someone should clue this moron in that the argument of I’ve done much worse to you than lie to and cheat on you, so you should just get over it, isn’t doing him any favors.

Also, I like Theresa (JL is so great in all her scenes), but if she ends up needing to be saved from Kristen or Stefano, Ciara is a better bet than idiot Brady.

Just to remind Corday and the writers:

It is not Theresa or Kristen’s fault Brady does drugs.

It is not Sami’s fault EJ cheated on her.

It is not Kate or Jordan’s fault Rafe cheated.

It is not Nicole’s fault Eric wants to have sex with her.

I agree with both of your posts, and want to add that I am completely perplexed at why TIIC are having Eric act like a pre-teen boy.  A virgin pre-teen boy.

"Girls make me think dirty things."

" I need to put what, where?  Ew."

I mean, he's had sex before.  He's had sex with Nicole before. The way he always looks sooo uncomfortable in sexual situations, or just romantic ones (or even just regular ones! I mean come on.), is annoying and it feels almost offensive to the audience who watched Eric, and Eric and Nicole, the first time.  He wasn't this stupid and lame, show!  If he were, instead, having to face himself, and sort through his feelings and values and how to transition back into being a man who can have relationships with women and express his desires openly, as opposed to only having a relationship with god, I would think that would be more real and interesting (as much as a priest on a soap can be).  But, nooooo, he has to walk around with that constant stank face on.

Don't even get me started on the crap that they're trying to pull with blaming the women on the show for men's behavior.  We get it, those evil women and their magical devil vaginas are manipulating the menfolk.  Bring on the *Witch Hammer.

*Maybe they aren't in Illinois, after all!  I mean, we have our awesomely wicked or wickedly awesome coven (Kate, Sami, Theresa, Nicole and Ciara) -- and not, one, but TWO Polly Purehearts, walking around being all pious and beige (unless it's "Dress as a Clown" day in Salem).

Lucas up until today has been playing as an advocate for Jordan and Rafe but I felt that there was more to their scene yesterday. It may just be me, but I sorta read that scene as Lucas being interested in Grimace for himself. All that you are a beautiful woman, who deserves happiness with anyone that can give it to you - notice he didn't say Rafe. I got the sense that Lucas was submitting his application as possible boyfriend material. I am not adverse to this because Lucas needs a story and Lucas/Grimace would be more interesting than Rafe/Grimace, which is not to say that Grimace/Lucas have better chemistry. Just that Rafe and Grimace are like being served cold oatmeal in bowl made out of wet cardboard. Lucas and Grimace would be oatmeal with hot sauce. Neither is particularly appetizing or appealing but at least one has the hint of flavor.  If I had a say, I would rather see the possibilities between Anne and Lucas.

Kate and Sami were the best part of the show. However, I feel I may end up hating Sami if she goes back to that ball of grease known as EJ. That look on Sami's face as she look on as EJ talked with the kids at camp made me want to retch.

Why is it that EJ is in a suit 24/7 and Brady who is also a 'bidnessman' walks around in JC Penny casuals and sweats all the time?

Ollie suffers from the same affliction as Brady - overgrooming. Ollie doesn't have any hair on his torso or his arms. However, I think Ollie is kinda worse. His eyebrows are better shaped and arched than mine or any woman on the show - and I keep my shit tight!!! Ollie must live in a threading salon. I just don't find that look at all appealing. Give me Tad who looks like a human being and not like anime.

Kristen and Eric? Ugh! Well it is at least interesting to see that Days treats rape just as horribly & irresponsibly when it occurs to men, but I doubt Eric will fall in love and procreate with Kristen so there's that.

Abby is no great beauty but I thought she looked the best she has in a while today. I do wish they darkened her hair a bit as I don't think blond really goes with the actress's coloring. Other than that, I got nothing with her story. No idea why they have her randomly think about EJ while making out with Ollie and kinda don't care.

This made me think of the early reports that Jordan was originally supposed to be Cassie Brady in disguise.  Thinking of that made me flashback to the time Lucas and Cassie were five seconds from intercourse before they found out they were brother and sister.

If true, this whole "Jordan and Rafe" saga would of been far more interesting with Jordan as Cassie.

When (because it's no longer a matter of if, I just know it) Sami takes EJ back, it had better not screw with Kate's plans. Sami may be wearing her big girl panties these days, but she's no match for Kate.

Sami has held her own against Kate in the past.  It wasn’t until they brought EJ and Rafe on the show that they started acting like Sami was a damsel in distress that needed saving, and even then Sami is still the one who shoots people.  She is a way better shot than either EJ or Rafe.

I think when it comes to Kate and Sami’s plan there is no backing out now.  What would they say?  “Hey Stef, sorry about the corporate takeover and criminal charges, no hard feelings, here is your company back.  About the island and painting we sold, uh, you’ve got others right?”

There are not enough words to describe how much I hate the idea that Sami will get back together with EJ.  What was the point of this SL for the last year?  Better yet, why did they ask AS to extend her contract to the end of May?

The only thing I have to look forward to is EJ dying so maybe Sami can finally have her brain and spine back.

Ciara is hilarious.  She wants to be one of the mean stepsisters.  Hee!!!

How could the writers not have had more scenes with Kate, Sami, Ciara, and Theresa?  Do the idiot writers realize that Sami, Ciara, and Theresa are cousins?

Just watched yesterday's show.  Sami and Kate are my idols right now.  Sami's "He called you a broken down whore." and Kate's facial reaction.  lol  I just want to watch them for an hour.  A spin-off with the coven needs.to.happen.

The one thing this show often does right, it also completely destroys; there are and have been some awesome female characters/actors on this show (Kate, Sami, Nicole, Anna, Carly, (early) Kristen, Billie, Vivian, non-harpy Julie, Theresa, and I know I'm missing some), who are capable of bring smart, strong, witty, and independent.  But then they go and throw them under the bus for, what, a man?  A pure Pollyanna? A pointless plot?  The women on Days have always, I thought, outweighed the men in awesomeness and badass-ed-ness (excepting Steve, Jack and Victor, imo, who are all awesome in their own right.).  Stupid , stupid show.

I know I keep beating a dead horse here, but Abby sucks.  I mean, really, really sucks.  First, she sticks her nose in where it doesn't belong with Bollie and makes such presumptuous statements about who his father really is and his motives and intentions, when she doesn't even know the man.  That's such an annoying thing that some people do.  If someone tells you that a family member or loved one has treated them a certain way, then believe them and leave it alone.  Don't try and convince them that they are wrong or bad for not wanting a relationship with that person.  Unbelievable that I'm rooting for Bollie to dump her ass, because even he is too good for her.

And then, if she says one more time that Sami and EJ "deserve" each other, like it's some kind of "oh snap!", I will scream.  OF COURSE they "deserve" (as in belong together) each other!  They were engaged, you box of hair.  They wanted to be together, they have kids together, they love(d) each other.  You helped fuck that up, and NOW you want to say, that they should just be together, because it's what they "deserve"?  I swear, man.

To quote the eternally golden Sofia: Beat it, you twenty year old mattress!

Is it just me, or did it seem like Lucas was hitting on Jordan a bit?  It was a weird scene.  He's always been an advocate of her and Rafe's relationship, though who knows why, but it felt a little weird.  I wish he would spend the little time he has on screen with Sami -- or smacking Will upside the head.  I just can't with that boy, and now he's got me side-eyeing Sonny, too, with Sonny's reassurance to Will that he and Sami will just get over it without any work from Will, because bygones!  I hate that they made Will a writer, too.  The character and the actor just can't make it believable.

I was surprised that Kate had to clue her in that EJ gave Rafe the evidence. If they're trying to show that Sami is off her game because she's so bent on revenge or flustered by her feelings for EJ, I think that it's working. She seems less...sharp...these days.

I am not happy that Sami is being bamboozled by EJ. Nothing would make me happier than to find out that Sami is playing EJ. Sadly, I don't think that's what is happening here. I think before Sami leaves, she will forgive EJ and take him back. Hopefully someone will kill his ass so all she gets is his lifeless body.

EJ needs a makeover.

I could also make the case for early Chloe, late Chelsea, and Mimi as additional good female characters.
