ams1001 May 18, 2022 Share May 18, 2022 (edited) "Eyes on the road." Finally, someone in show says what I'm always saying! (BTW, who are these people?) Does anyone cook in this house and is there any other restaurant in town that isn't Chinese? Now Kate is taking her curriculum international? Also, why are you talking on speakerphone on a plane? 11 minutes ago, BuckeyeLou said: Who is this family?! Is the guy in the lab Deja's partner? ams1001 May 18, 2022 Share May 18, 2022 I like her seeing the kids at different ages all together. Will she hang on until Kate gets there? My mom's father seemed to be doing that. He was in Florida and all his kids were in NJ, but he hung on until after they all got there to say goodbye. My aunt went in the middle of the night after we had all been to the house; it was like she waited until everyone was asleep. 19 Link to comment

I really don't feel invested enough in Deja's fiance's backstory that it needs to be crammed into one of the last 2 episodes of the series. I'm not that invested in Deja, truth be told, except that her pregnancy gave us a really great scene with Beth and Randall. Beth is the best, I wanna be her when I grow up. Now that I know she's still with Malik, I'm even less interested. So Jack donates blood that saves Marcus' life so he can grow up and cure cancer? You know that's where this is headed. Maybe Jack scrubs into the surgery and advises the doctors. Edited May 18, 2022 by Notabug 22 14 Link to comment

greekmom May 18, 2022 Share May 18, 2022 Show brought the feels. I was hoping that in the room with the kids she would have seen Kyle playing by himself. I mean he was her child as well and died. I thought maybe in the end Jack's heart would be transplanted in the little boys. Glad they didn't go there. Then I thought Marcus grows up and is the father of Dej's baby. Damn, she stuck with Malik. 4 12 Link to comment

The 2 brothers and sister who were in the back seat of the car driven by dad Dulé Hill. The dispirited one, Marcus, is the boy who took off his seat belt in the car right before the accident and almost died. He works in a lab on cancer research, and has a limp as a result of the accident. Dr. Bill Irwin saved him at the same time that Jack died. Before Jack died, he passed on Dr. K's "make lemonade out of lemons philosophy" to the dad, and it is now their family motto, although the kids don't seem to know why. In the future, Marcus will develop a treatment for Alzheimers. We were supposed to think that Marcus was the father of Deja's future baby, but it was Malik all along. No, but the doctor who may have been able to "save" Jack was busy with Marcus. I'm putting save in quotes because we later find out Jack always has a heart condition. Him dying from a heart attack was always a matter of when. 1 11 Link to comment
Popular Post funnygirl May 18, 2022 Popular Post Share May 18, 2022 (edited) This Is Us better get EMMY love this year. Especially Mandy Moore. Network TV has turned into the bastard child - at least for dramas - when it comes to awards, but This Is Us has fired on all cylinders. And Mandy Moore's performance as Rebecca, not just tonight but throughout the series, has been wonderful. What a show. I love good, well-thought-out, well-acted, well-produced shows that are given enough time to have a proper ending. This episode was beautiful. Edited May 18, 2022 by funnygirl 55 Link to comment

Blackie May 18, 2022 Share May 18, 2022 When the other father was talking to Jack in the coffee room , I thought that meant they were all dead. The 'connection" fell way short for me, and the fake out that it was Deja's boyfriend took up too much time. Maybe they could have given more time to Annie or Tess. I liked the train set up and Mandy (Rebecca) looked absolutely gorgeous. I don't believe in "heaven" so I think I will start believing I get to go on a fancy train trip in a gorgeous gown. All the Big 3 at different ages was a nice touch. 13 Link to comment

Popular Post stonehaven May 18, 2022 Popular Post Share May 18, 2022 I love that this is really the story of a Mom trying her best. Yes, Jack was there but this really has been Rebecca's story and I am all for that. I did feel sad that Miguel only gets 30 seconds but he was there for her in reality for so much more. Her story truly began with Jack so her ending with Jack is perfect. When Dule Hill was on my screen, I kept waiting for a Don Cheadle narration or a "Be Cool" from him...(Wonder Years reference)... It'll be strange not to have this show on after next week... 28 Link to comment

DoubleUTeeEff May 18, 2022 Share May 18, 2022 I really liked it! A lot of it worked for me. I teared up for Dr. K as the bartender. I loved the 3 different age versions of Randall and Kevin. I cried when I realized that Rebecca was waiting for Kate from the very beginning of the episode. They got me with the Marcus story line, I totally thought it was a flash forward and that was Deja and Malik's kid and grandkids so when Jack show up, I was surprised. I think they finally integrated Jack into the story in a fresh and interesting way. I enjoyed the whole idea of the doctor saving a kid but losing Jack in the process. They took it too far when he solved Alzheimer's but we're talking about TIU where Randall is a senator and Kate is creating international curriculums so...what did we expect, really? I'm not surprised at all that Deja and Malik ended up together. I guess they still haven't worked out their birth control. Toby's jokes were mostly stupid but I kind of liked when he asked Rebecca if she liked Toby more than Philip. And of course Philip's got a porn stache like Jack's. I also liked that Beth knows all as per her usual. I did not like that Miguel was only there for about 2 minutes to flirt with Rebecca and then she moved onto the caboose where Jack was waiting. I see they threw us a bone and we got an Annie/Rebecca moment. I'm glad they played Joni Mitchell since that was Rebecca's favorite. 22 Link to comment
