Didn't Joy name her dog Brielle?  I wonder where Brielle the dog is now?

I doubt that poor dog is even alive or she was left outside to fend for herself. Duggars shouldn’t even get pets. Who got 2 kittens as a gift that Josie grabbed roughly? Those 2 kittens aren’t around either.

I think that was Giddy.  Joy had wrapped the kittens in a gift box.  And yes, Josie was grabbing at them roughly.  They were never seen again.

Jed!'s kids are closer together (though not quite Irish twins), but they didn't get pregnant with their first as quickly.

Jed!+Katey--> married 4/3/21, first kid born 5/2/22, second born 5/24/23

Jer+Hannah--> married 3/26/22, first kid born 12/25/22, second born 2/25?/24

I know this isn't the point of her post, but it always bugs me with the mom dresses and gets the kids dressed up and everyone matches, but then the dad is also there. Like even his shoes are dirty. Was there no white shirt he could wear to match her dress? No burgundy tie? Like they found tiny burgundy onesies for their newborn, but that was his best outfit choice? C'mon Jeremiah! Try at least as hard as your wife who had a kid a week ago!

I hope this was just a typo.  Two kids born a week and a half apart would be unique.

How many will this make?  Are they competing with Jed!?

It's their 3rd. The oldest is 2. And yes I think he's competing with Jed. They probably want to have as much kids as their parents. They are disgusting. They probably ask for sex asap after birth.

The IBLP stipulates that a certain amount of time has to go by before sex can start up again--the amount of days depends on whether you've had a girl or a boy.  Yeah, weird.  Of course, as the Duggar guys get married, they may be deciding to ignore that particular rule.

I'll never understand having kids so fast. I get the first and maybe the second coming sooner. Once first baby gets older and sleeps during the night there's more time for Mom and Dad. But after the second? All the work with a baby and one year old? Especially when the husband is no help. It's insane.

In the real world is recommended to wait 6 weeks for sex after giving birth.

Nobody was going near my lady parts during that time, especially after my first.

Fundies must have some kind of super healing power to be doing the wild thing so close to birth.

The Rods have TWO sets of Irish twins.

But Jill and her fundie ladies must be 'joyfully available' to their men no matter what.  I don't think recent childbirth or frequent breastfeeding or a colicky baby who doesn't sleep would relieve them of that burden.  What's a little pain as long as the head of the household gets his rocks off?

It is in the OT, but it's something IBLP pushes not all fundies.  Just because it's in the OT doesn't make it binding on all conservative or fundie Christians.  There are SO many rules in the OT that I know of no current Christian groups trying to follow all of them.

The OT rules are a pick and choose thing that some groups use like a cafeteria menu.

Then add in the human factor of just because their church, minister, or parachurch group has a particular rule, doesn't mean couple A or person B is going to "get a testimony" to follow it or believes in it or remembers it from their training or finds it fits with their life or wishes.

oh gosh, all religions are pick and choose and look for loopholes.  Had many a discussion recently with someone who said "no" and then asked "higher ups" and, well, yes.  At least that is my opinion and I am not a religious scholar.  some things are custom, some things are tradition, some things are "that's the way we do things", etc.  I like my religion and I know it is full of varying opinions and loopholes but I look to it more as a connection to times past, people of my heritage, traditional things that bring connection, moral lessons, probably common to most or a lot of religions, etc.

I heard a story yesterday of a woman who wants to get the family dog neutered.  Her husband disagrees and told her he asked the rabbi who said they couldn't because it would be mutilating the dog.  They can, however, sell the dog to a non-Jew who will get the dog neutered and can then sell it back to them.  ::smh::

They do circumcisions. It’s okay to mutilate your baby but not the dog?

That's exactly what daughter's MIL who is Jewish asked.  She kept saying it's a dog.  Where in the Torah does it talk about dogs?

So whose interpretation are Jeremiah and Hannah following or are they making their own or simply doing what they want to do?  Do they listen to the doctor or the midwife or do they close their ears when medical people speak?

Not Torah, but "As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly." Proverbs 23:11 😁

How many do they have, what ages and what names? I haven’t been able to keep up with them at all. Jer I think it’s still the best looking Dugger boy. I know it is a very low bar.

And what about the others that we never hear about? How many kids do Josiah and Joe have? I’m glad they’re happily living out of the Spotlight. But don’t they all work for JB in some capacity? What happens when he kicks it? Can they all move on independently? Can they keep this family business together without their headship?

I am hoping that most of them on such a rapid pace of pregnancies will slow down eventually and stop at six or so children. Growing up in the catholic school and church, it was not unusual to see large families of 6 to 8 children. But no one got anywhere near 19. I believe joy said that they wanted five or six. It may seem like a lot to us now, but it used to be very common to have that many children. It’s the 10+ or 15+ that is insane.
