Well, Joy and Sara did what they could in the short time they had left. But OY.

Here’s hoping the tests come back negative soon. And if they have to shut down for a few days next week, we’re spared Caitlyn Jenner.

I think they are just having deeper conservations on issues than before, where Ana can explain her conservative positions.   I love that she never prefaces her statements with, as a conservative.....

Exactly.  Black people are seen as adults as soon as they hit puberty in the eyes of the media. Yet, I remember during "Lochte-gate" the media kept referring to this 30+ year old man as some dumb kid

I have to hand it to Joy and Sara.  I think they did a great job under the circumstances.  I had to laugh when Joy asked Sara if she’d walk across the stage on her hands and Sara said, “Is this day going to get even worse?”

The funniest moment for me was Joy's "I heard that one," when Sara was trying to repeat one of the questions. Joy was really nice in the way she complimented Sara at one point. Despite the chaos, it was still an okay show for me. The regulars here know me; I'd be fine if the show was Joy solo, LOL.

Well, with all that happened today, hopefully Kamala Harris will come back again on a day Whoopi can meet her, too. My prayers go out to Ana and Sunny and their families. I know Sunny's mother lives with her, right? I remember she expressed a lot of anxiety about her mother's health the past two years during the pandemic, so I'm praying for her welfare, too.

Shouldn't that be done, oh, i don't know, maybe an hour earlier, so they don't get on set and possibly infect their co-hosts???  Especially on the day the Vice President is to appear???

And, what a mess not having Kamala on until so close to the end of the show.  Such a disappointment to have her make her way to the studio to not even get on.

Joy and Sara, especially Sara, did a good job of trying to keep the show going.  Glad Whoopie wasn't there - I can imagine that would have really been a different and dragged out boring show.

That was my first thought, why isn't Sara worried of taking it home?  Next thought was, I wonder if Max will try and lay down the law that she will have to be remote or no job.  They will probably hold the audience over and tape it for Monday.

She was not saying that we need a single party.  She was saying that the Republican party is beyond repair and she listed the reasons she holds that opinion.  The Republican party used to be the Whig party..  We have had different political parties throughout the nation's history. 

The Democratic party and the Republican party have changed since the civil war..  They have actually switched ideologies and are no longer the way they used to be..

The Democratic party is currently changing with the progressive Democrats and conservative Democrats not seeing eye to eye anymore on certain issues.  They may split up into two distinct parties at some point in the future. Sunny is right when she says there needs to be a reckoning with the Republican party.  That does not mean that she wants a single political party.. Joy even said that the republican party is not like the Eisenhower Republicans of the past.

Beyond repair and it should go away. She didn't say anything about creating new parties or reforming existing parties. There's nothing magical about the political parties we have now; it would be logical for like-minded people to come together in a new party that reflects their views and interests more closely. Sunny didn't go in that direction, though - Sara and Joy did. Sunny's statement sounded as though removing the Republican party would be the answer to everything.

They were talking over each other and I wished the ladies had let her finish her train of thought.  I am pretty sure that Sunny who holds conservative views on some issues would like to see them represented in the government, however she does not feel that the Republican party can do that anymore.. They have lost all legitimacy in her eyes.  You can be conservative and not be a Republican.  Another conservative party can rise in it's wake and I believe that is what Sunny wants..

I've seen news that more kids are getting it.  Too young to get vaccinated. I'd be so scared if I was a mother to young children like Sara.

I was out shopping (masked) and this sweet boy said a cheery hello. I waved and said hello. I protect not only myself but this sweet boy.

I think they did a great job. 

The covid detection was weird. As someone else said, you would expect that the testing would be done earlier to avoid this kind of thing. It was interesting that Ana and Sunny got detected even though they have been vaccinated; hopefully being vaccinated will keep them from getting ill or at least not very ill.

That was why I asked earlier if they did daily testing or if this happened only because VP Harris was scheduled to be there. Maybe it's protocol for wherever her and President go and ABC was unaware of it till the last minute.

The View,  as usual, has shown how disorganized they are.

Perhaps do the rapid tests long before start time so that the results are in before the go live.

Upside is both Ana and Sunny will have hybrid immunity once they recover (i.e. vaccine + natural immunity)..so they'll have strong protection from future variants

Well, the "natural immunity" is really not known. The amount of antibodies and the length of time they stay in the blood just isn't known.

No one has 100% immunity.

I wanted to address that re Ana but forgot.  Ok that girl got it from Al, so she should have immunities from that.  Then got the double-vacc.  Months ago. Wheres those immunities??did her body eat them for lunch.

Yeah I'm sure TPTB have blocks of rooms on tap for whenever they need them.  My hospital does the same thang.  They have like a whole wing on reserve.

Yea there was a spell where she just disappeard.  No explanation from anybody. Lots of what ifs...got eaten by shark, what if snatched by mistake and taken over the border...

Anyway she was out like 3 to 4 weeks.  Then she same back and explained.  It was really towards the beginning.

I follow Ana on FB and don’t remember that disappearance. Her husband fell at one point then had COVId so she was caregiving for quite a bit then parents arrived but don’t think they are still there. I could be wrong maybe it was additional family that visited left 

I’m worried about Joy and her age. Too many breakthroughs have wound up in the hospital for a month.  They did a fantastic job!

Yikes! Wishing Sunny and Ana health. I wonder if they might want to quarantine together so they don't get bored? I don't know if Sunny has enough space at her place to keep from getting near her family. 

One of my fears getting covid is being all alone for weeks.

How would either one be able to get better if they are passing it back and forth?

They will develop antibodies to kill the virus in a few days. No passing back and forth.

The story is all over msnbc today. The naysayers are going to point to them as vaccinated liberals who still contracted the virus. Hoping they are tested again and find it was a false positive.

Those are probably unvaccinated people who refuse to get tested, and have respiratory symptoms and go out in public, maskless.  I hope no one cares what they say.

WOW. I DVR the show and watch it after work, but I so wasn't expecting this! (I'm sure Whoopi was never grateful for sciatica until today.)

Kudos to Joy and Sara for keeping things going, though I noticed Sara was coughing several times. In hindsight, they probably should have just had the interview pretaped or just done it remotely in the first place. What a mess. Yikes!

A writer for People was in the audience and gives his take. 

The fact that they had Sunny and Ana leave, then come back so they could make them leave on air, then announce afterwards that Sunny and Ana had both just taken rapid tests that were negative makes me very suspicious (also what the producer said as he's asking them to leave, "We'll bring you back out later"  "It's a tease" sound like they wanted them to leave only for the Kamala Harris interview but couldn't think of a reason).  Not having the inital test results until part way through the show is already strange but add in all this other stuff and it just kind of seems like either a publicity stunt or at the last minute Kamala Harris and her team decided that they didn't want Sunny and Ana (the two hosts who have been the most vocal about the Haitian situation) doing the interview.  I don't know.  There's just something off about the entire thing.

So they both test negative after the show???

I was just going to post that. Like I said above, glad it was a false positive after all. (But if I were them, I’d go for a third. Just in case.)

Note to the producers: Next time get this all settled before you go on air.

I don't think ABC will ever admit it, if it was. They expect us to believe everything they throw at us, so Joy will just be her usual jovial self tomorrow...without really knowing all the details.
