First of all Monica was not cancelled. Nobody knew who she was before this.  How can you be cancelled if you never were? Were there opportunities taken away from her after this? Maybe.  She was an intern. Who knows where she would have ended up if this had never happened.  It could be argued she made lemonade out of lemons.  As Sunny mentioned she had a handbag line which never would have happened if she didn't have name recognition.   She never would have hosted a reality show.  And she wouldn't now be producing shows about what happened.

Not to mention, she made hay of the affair when she was on Saturday Night Live. It was horrible and was so, so awkward and flat. Why would she agree to do something like that if this was a mistake she wanted to forget?

I didn't see Sunny crucifying Monica at all. She just listed everything Monica accomplished, which makes a lie out of Monica saying she was cancelled. Sara kept on the theme that Monica was some naive cherub who didn't know what she was getting into. And as you also stated, Clinton wasn't her first affair.

But as others have said, what was great was we saw so many different opinions on this; disagreements; but they were all civil and not attacking each other, or taking it personally.

But come on, now Ladies! You mentioned Dulé's stint on The West Wing, and talked about it, but not Psych? A show whose fans still love Shawn and Gus, and that had them reunite for two movies, with a third coming up?

I have no problem believing Sara was naive at 22.  But I know I wasn't and I don't think Monica was either.

I wasn't a big fan of Psych but loved the West Wing.  It is nice to see Dule continue to have great success. His Charlie might have been the only character on WW who never annoyed me.

She wouldn’t have been hired as a WH intern if she wasn’t smart.  Naive?  Maybe.  But smart enough to know better.

Regarding Haiti though, I'm angry myself about the situation. I can't imagine the pain when it is personal. I do also think Sunny is someone who's very passionate when she sees serious injustice and cruelty but doesn't label everything as victimhood. I'm kind of the same. There are times I wish people would shut up about what I consider to be problems of immense privilege or self-inflected wounds, but when innocent people who are just trying to live and feed their families are threatened with horse reins as whips, I want to cry and scream.

Sunny's father-in-law was Haitian, Sunny has a French last name: Hostin.  She has also been to Haiti many times over the years and her family has property and land over there. So the subject of Haiti is very personal to her..

I’m not a Kamala Harris fan and wasn’t looking forward to her visit, but, now I’m anxious to see how Sunny is going to be with her.

I hope Sunny grills her due to what has been going on at the border..

Yes! Loved him on the West Wing and Psych. Wish the series was still on.

Joy's "Oh, yeah, baby!!" at the end had me rolling.

I definitely got Sunny's point in regards to Cheney, that we're supposed to treat her like a hero and savior simply because she doesn't believe in overthrowing the government when her party loses.... It is an incredibly low bar. Unfortunately, the reality is the party isn't simply going to disappear (and there isn't going to be a third party rising up to offer an alternative either). I could understand the others' frustration there.

I'm excited to see Kamala tomorrow. It's so refreshing to hear the women actually have a debate, like Ana and Sunny. I actually will listen, unlike listening to someone screaming talking points.

I wasn't going to post because I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the show. Then I thought no, positive posts are also needed lol. They all had me laughing and truly interested in the conversations. Joy is having fun again, I love it.

I am totally there with Sunny about Liz Cheney.  The woman (LC) stands for everything I'm against. Except oh, yeah,  over throwing the government 🙄. As some other poster said very low bar. However I do understand what Ana was saying. It's just so damn frustrating.

I just recently started therapy and it's hard . I'm Mexican-American and I can relate to Ana and Sunny. The idea of my mom or aunts and uncles doing therapy ooof 😁. They needed it, trust me. But it's just something that wasn't done. I think it's changing and hopefully younger generations understand how it can help.

And Ana raised a good question, one o had too, as to how did they even get to Mexico from haiti?  I assume there were boats at some point?

Sorry if someone has already responded to this, but I saw an interview with one of the Haitian refugees and it turned out that they hadn't lived in Haiti for decades! They had been living somewhere in South America all that time. They were complaining that if they were deported to Haiti, they wouldn't know anyone there. So if they were living in a South American country for 10+ years, should they still be considered "Haitian"? I guess technically they are, if they didn't have citizenship somewhere else, but saying that "Haitians" are being denied refuge suggests that these are people who recently fled Haiti due to the earthquake, political assassination, and so on. It is disingenuous to refer to people who hadn't been living in Haiti for a very long time as though they were current refugees.

Some people vilified her for staying. Which I thought was wrong. It was  her marriage and  her choice to stay

RE: Hillary - My recollection is that it wasn't so much that she stayed with Bill even after the scandal, but that during the campaign she had made a very strong statement that she wasn't the type of woman who would "stand by her man" like she was Tammy Wynette. Then, she ended up doing that very thing, which made people think she wasn't very credible.

They are still Haitian because they are first generation and  they have not integrated into Latin America because they have been facing anti-Blackness and racism in those Latin American countries  and this in turn has caused them to live in the shadows filled with poverty unemployment and mistreatment.   So they looked to America as a way out.  I know a  Haitian man who is living in Brazil and it is not good to be Black there.  The Blacks in Brazil and other Latin American countries can attest to that.. For some reason people seem to think that anti-Black sentiment is only in America it is sadly all over..

Judging Hillary for staying with Bill is ridiculous.  Life is complicated, marriage is complicated. Those people who judged her had a childlike view of marriage or they had an agenda as to why they judged her choice.  People change their minds about their decisions and choices.

I agree that everyone has the right to change their minds and choices. I also think that the public would have viewed Hillary more kindly if she had been more open about her change of mind after being so publicly dismissive of other women who had made that choice before. And, as it turned out, this wasn't Bill's first "indiscretion" so she wasn't speaking without having any experience to draw on.

For good or bad, she's stuck with him so it must work for them.

The show is so much more enjoyable this season. And everyone seems to be happy and enjoying the conversation.

I really liked the flow of convo Thursday when they discussed hot topics. Everyone made good points during the segment on missing white women.

My DVR decided not to tape the first two days this week, so I'm just catching up on the discussion. Sorry to have missed Carly Fiorina. I've had a bad impression of her from her 2016 political union with Ted Cruz, and it would have been interesting to see her at the table, given the largely positive reaction here and other discussion groups.

I thought Sunny was unbearable during the Lewinsky discussion, and her barely controlled rage at someone who has never affected her life scared me. I thought she would happily brand an "A" on Monica's chest without a second thought.

Sunny's emotional responses Wednesday aside, I'm enjoying this season so much. The grown-ups are back at the table, and no longer have to tiptoe around the petulant teenager or wonder when she will explode into a tantrum. It's so refreshing.

She has told us herself how  jealous she gets. Throwing away a birthday cake a female coworker gave Manny.  But if I am not mistaken she has also said she wouldn't divorce Manny if he cheated.

Only because "as a Catholic," she doesn't believe in divorce.  Catholics are allowed to divorce--and still receive all sacraments.  They simply can't remarry (if they were married "in The Church).   She'd simply make his life so miserable he'd he'd wither away...or run away.  I wonder if she ever considers the example she's giving her kids.

Something is definitely up (DOWN!) with Sunny.  I hope she's paying attention to the comments about her.  Time for a reboot, Miss Sunny.

Yesterday's discussion of hot topics was a throwback to Barbara Walter's original vision of the show.  It was like four friends hanging out talking about things.

It's ironic Whoopi just signed a new contract because the past two shows without her have been so good without her.

I dunno, Joy. Expelling sick vaccine deniers from the hospital is a slippery slope. The medical community shouldn’t judge who is worthy of treatment.*

Well, this is awkward. Removing half the panel and lots of confusion?  Oh, shoot.  Sunny and Ana tested positive.

*Yes, I know that is happening in many overcrowded hospitals. A friend had her biopsy pushed back to Dec because of so many covid patients here.

No Whoopi again, and Sunny and Ana get bounced off the show live on air because they BOTH tested positive for COVID.  And now the VP is doing her interview from backstage.

Dang.  Wackiest show yet. The EP is going to drink the rest of the weekend.

Hmmm… Sunny was chomping at the bit to ask Kamala about Haiti but she’s bounced from the stage by a convenient covid test. If I was wearing my tinfoil hat… 🤣

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if they’re doing a remote interview if Ana and Sunny will be involved or if they’ve been escorted from the building.

Today’s show is certain to get a lot of publicity but for all the wrong reasons.

I just read the bad news about Ana and Sunny. I was so looking forward to this episode.

As for testing, I think it takes a while so if they swab in the morning it won't be immediate results. I hope they are both not too ill and are safe.

I’m wondering if Sunny and the others greeted the VP backstage before the show.

I would think the SS wouldn’t allow that until the tests came back.

They should have been tested as early as needed, shoot, 3am if needed, to get the results before 10am.
