Want to issue a mea culpa on Rachel W.  I posted a few years back that she was likely insincere in her commitment to the team and would be on her way to a broadcasting spot after a year or two.  I am so pleased she’s still here performing.   Sometimes, it’s really nice to be wrong.

I want to issue a mea culpa as well...to Gina. I was on her like white on rice from the jump; something about her just got to me. Then when she was called out for her behaviour, my dislike for her was justified in my mind. She has won me over (silly faces and all) and she's definitely one of the best dancers they've ever had. Would love to see her point/shared point because she's not the typical drop-dead gorgeous, tall, loads of blonde-haired girl we're used to and she's a fantastic dancer. Sorry, Gina!

Some photos got leaked. She was not punished because really, she was the victim of a crime and she did nothing wrong. But Kelli and Charlotte were not happy, and for that reason she was never a contender for all-star. All-stars have most of the direct contact with fans, and there was concern that some might get handsy because of the pic situation.

The criticism is more than valid for Victoria (as well as Kelli for making poor decisions).

I am not defending anyone here,  but I had gone back over the weekend and watched some older seasons.  Selina was called in twice in Season 12 to discuss her weight.   And, according to this forum, Gabby was on weight watch more than once during her rookie season.

IMO both Selena and Gabby were given time to get in shape before their next season.

As to passes for weight, Paige was 15 pounds over her audition weight and in a relationship with a Cowboy player and she was given time.  Maybe Victoria should have been cut sooner but she was cut. 
 

loved Selina but her weight seemed to be an ongoing struggle her 2 years. 
 

gabby was on WW most of her one year on the team  and she had noticeably gained weight back after the calendar shoot.  
 

Hannah got cut for her weight and lack of taking it serious.  The ones who cry and immediately go on a diet after a couple of good years  at their audition weight are given more grace such as Veronica.

Oh it's all double standards all the time. Ha they pick and choose who they want to keep or get rid of based on weight issues, and who they show being talked to about it on the show. I remember they didn't show anyone getting  weight warnings in season 11, even though there was several girls who were visibly "soft/heavier" that year. Some girls get a chance in training camp, and others are cut at finals. And some of them that are given the chance look just the same or worse than those that are cut. Some of them even get to be in the triangle and at point. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Agree with you on Gina. Thought she was stuck-up and arrogant. Now, to me at least, that all comes from her simply being confident in her abilities. Certainly nothing wrong with that. 

And not to beat a dead horse, but please .. please. Can we stop with this shared point thing LOL. I just feel it's nice to have one DCC as point.

And then Victoria came back to the next audition slim and quite fabulous looking. So she did take it seriously. Whether she sticks to it and/or 'gets away' with it remains to be seen.

Normally I'm an Armani fan as I think she has a bit of sparkle about her but this just feels flat. I don't know if the music or the choreography but it doesn't feel very energetic.

She's been amazing in all the prep class videos I've seen too in hard-hitting jazz and hip hop styles and looked good in the contemporary piece they did for Technique Tuesday this week.

I think its the lighting and the angle. Her pop is in her face in my opinion. Even when masked in the prep classes there a force and a draw with her. But in this shot (like in many of the other flat ones) the camera moves all around is seems to be at ground level looking up. That angle creates a heaviness to dance and  her face is not well lighted. 

I've said it before. I appreciate the attempt at incorporating fancy cinematography but so many of these effects and angles are detracting from the dances themselves.

You're probably right. Just film them with a static camera so we can see their full bodies and just pan left and right if they go out of shot.

Alanna’s placement was odd to me too, considering her cameo was one used for the show promos. So she’s not out of favor. I figured it had something to do with her height or pose, since that pic is all photoshop.  
 

Probably worth noting again since it’s been a while since the original discussion...the ladies did their own hair and makeup for the shoot due to Covid.  So any hair messiness, aging old lady makeup or all around fabulousness is their own.

Sydney wrote of her time with DCC as "nontraditional and unforgettable" and she "loved the sisterhood aspect." It makes me wonder if more went on behind the scenes or if Sydney (having been a pro bowl cheerleader) was disillusioned with DCC management. I liked Sydney. Wish she had stayed on.

Sydney has been cheering a long time & has also been a Pro Bowl cheerleader.  Maybe she is just ready to move on with her life?

 

I think Briana will make a fabulous All Star.

I imagine she means the way auditions/TC was done & not dancing on the field. There really was nothing traditional about last year, that's for sure.

Sydney is so darn pretty. Bummed she’s a one and done, but especially for the older ladies with other pro cheer experience, I can see where you’d like to give it a go and then also call it a day. Being a DCC has some perks but a whole lot of baggage too! The scrutiny, the reality show, etc etc.

not sure if it’s this thread where Dr Manhattan commented with their insider info, or on the other thread I’m on - of all 8 retirees before they announced it on their instagrams but I’m glad for more reliable insider info 👏🏻

It seems like Tess and Savannah would be All Star candidates as well since they seem to be well known, and well recognized. Rachel also as a SG member she is used to extra appearances.
