It's been said before that the list of 'hot topics' is presented to them each morning by their producer(s). The hosts decide together, at their morning meeting, which topics to talk about and which topics don't need to be discussed, and it has to be a majority decision by all hosts. Meghan has sniped about this when she's not happy with a topic.  She usually says something like "As I said at our meeting, there are more important things to discuss right now, but I guess you all rather talk about this".  (In last year's book "Ladies Who Punch" Rosie said that they could not talk about the legal trouble Cosby was in (2014-15) because Whoopi voted against discussing her friend, and the other hosts sided with her while Rosie did not.) 

So  as for Toobin, it looks like the majority voted to discuss it before the show. I'm sure if Meghan was there, she'd make her comment that there's more important things to talk about right now days before the election (and she'd be right!).

The police like the military is supposed to be apolitical,  they are here to serve the public regardless of the people's political affiliations. Not to mention, tax dollars generated from the people pay their salaries.

I cannot remember what exactly she said. But I dont think she dismissed it. I thought she said something about police officers have a right to their own *beliefs but going in uniform and Trump mask was wrong. 

He, imo knew what message he was sending. It was absolutely ridiculous.

I always assume someone is watching or listening to me.  It's scary but unfortunately the genie was let out of the bottle once people started having smart phones attached to their hands.  Back in the day you had to boot up your computer, wait for it to connect and then surf the net. When  you were done you turned it off and it disconnected.  But now devices are on 24/7 and even if  you aren't  using it it is probably using you.

I just recently found out about the son from an extramarital affair which Ok things happen but he initially denied paternity until a DNA test proved him to be the father.  And now swingers clubs?  Maybe Sunny is right.  He does have a very serious problem.

Sunny was asking why a Trump mask would be seen as so threatening, but that she didn’t think a Biden hat would. 
 

Whoopi misunderstood, but I think Sunny’s point was Trump is actively interfering in the election and urging his fans to intimidate at the polling sites, whereas Biden is not. Therefore, a Trump mask would cause intimidation in Biden voters, and a Biden mask would most likely not intimidate Trump voters. 
 

At least that was my take. 🤷‍♀️

Ahhyiyi(?)  Was today especially commercial laden?  Seemed like it to me.  Maybe I'm just now noticing.  It must be me becz even Whoopi pissed me off and she usually never does.  I thought she was very rude to Natalie Portman talking to her earpiece louder then usual and then not even knowing where they were at in the interview and asking her the same question she just answered.  Bad Whoopi.

yeah, whoopee is just not a good moderator, doesn't listen and rambles and i wish she would stop making useless remarks after every other person's every sentence, all the yeahs and uh-huhs, etc are just not necessary

Is she responding to the person or is she talking to command central on her earpiece?  Which if that is the case, mute it girl!  It throws everybody off.

She always does good interviews, she's just so cheery and upbeat.  Gives one hope.  Maybe that should be her platform Whoopi, she can be the Ambassador of Hope.  Anyway the interview itself seemed a lil scattered, like it got thrown together on the fly.  But Dr Jill is professional and was just nice to chat to.

You are not supposed to wear anything with a political message within 50’ (?) of a polling station. Not trump, not Biden, not RBG, not MAGA, not Nasty Woman, etc. I see FB posts daily about people being told to remove hats, masks, pins, cover shirts...  (Chucks are still getting through. 😊). Sunny missed the point about a trump mask being more intimidating than a Biden hat. Neither is allowed. That cop should have known better.

There are two types of people and they both add a three or four letter word. "only" black lives matter people who feel threatened, and "black lives matter too" which is the intent. A lot of well intentioned organizations get taken over by the more strident and can get sidetracked.

I feel like so many of us need an education about what is Marxism, capitalism, and socialism, and what our socialism has added to our society.

Yeah to me it’s always been black lives matter too. I see nothing wrong with saying the slogan to show support to the movement no matter what your politics are.

I didn’t get the impression that Sunny was disagreeing with that.

About who? I thought Sara did a great job calling out Trump for bitching about Biden's years "doing nothing" as a senator, when everyone knows senators can't always have the same impact as a President. And of course the coronavirus misinformation.

And yes, Sunny, Ana, and Whoopi were spot on that Trump saying he was the least racist person in the room in front of the moderator was laughable.

I've been avoiding the View this week and watched the Real. There was a moment when I was watching the Real when the commercial came on and I went to do something, only to rush back because the show came back. I decided to watch the View today to see what they said about the debate and the commercials are killing me. I just can't understand why they have so many commercials.

I could go to the washroom, do a number 2, take a shower, change, go out and buy some groceries, go to work, take a book out of the library and by the time I get home there's still another commercial playing. This is too much.

I find it ironic that today is Me-Again’s birthday, of course she is not there(Thank God!), and ladies are having a hoot of a show.   They are so loose and funny, and can’t stop giggling about everything!  What a way to end the week.  I love Ana, and I pray to the Good Lord that she becomes a permanent host.  Especially now, that it is remote.  Have a great weekend, everybody!

Oh, I’ve timed the ads, they are at least 4 1/2 to 5 minutes,each time.  I always DVR the show, so I start watching about 20 minutes in, the first through the commercials!

The number of commercials is horrendous and add in the ABC show promos. THE only way to watch is to record the show.

Here is the list after the first segment

-View promo for next week, Trintellix medication, Cerave, Ashley Furniture, Mr. Clean, Fancy Feast, Medicare informercial, Finish dishwasher soap, Robitussin cough syrup, Dove shampoo, Charmin, Shark Tank promo and 20/20 promo.

That is 9 commercials, 1 View promo , 1 infomercial, and 2 ABC show promos =13 and the show just started!

Totally agree.  The mood of the show was very light today.   Joy's retelling of the Guiliani/Borat story was hilarious.   Made me notice how little we get of this Joy.   Her humor is often limited to a quick one liner  before the conversation is  moved on to something or someone else.

I very much agree with Leslie Jones about getting thru the quarantine.  You really need to enjoy your own company.

That was my take too, that most people wouldn't feel intimidated by a Biden mask.

I started watching Wendy Williams earlier this season, and after a week I had to delete it from my DVR. Why? Because she has the annoying habit of doing 'right, right, and 'uh-huh, uh-huh, uh-huh' off camera when someone else is talking and the camera is focused on them. And she does it on camera when she's saying something. After a sentence or two she has that annoying 'uh huh, uh huh, uh huh'. I thought it was a neurological disorder.

Now Whoopi is doing the same thing !

The commercials bother me, too, so I just watch the show on The View's official YouTube Channel. They post each segment as an individual video usually about 2 hours after the show ends every afternoon. You sometimes miss a little bit of banter, but you NEVER have to watch View Your Deal, so it's worth it to me.
