There was a point where Dani hadn’t been called the DR in days. I’m not sure where in the game this was but she did say it. I’m sure some are called to the DR more then others for whatever is going on in the game Dani hasn’t been HOH or won Veto so she hasn’t been that instrumental in the fame in front of everyone. She also isn’t that likable this season either. LOL!!!

Dani did say that in the beginning of the season. Dani also would request to go to the DR so she could tweet every day and she said when she got there, she would say "Are we not doing DRs today?" and the person would respond "Oh, we can do yours now." So it wasn't that she wasn't getting the questions from the DR, it was that she felt dismissed. I think, also, she wanted the rest of the house to know that she was somewhat important to the game without being the most important person to the game and she tracks that by DR calls. She was obsessed with how often Janelle got called versus Dani having to ask to be called (and still not called, heh).

And it's not that Dani is wrong: it's hard to be a character on the show - what the majority of the viewers see - if you're not going to the DR. It means that you haven't done anything impactful to the game that week that Big Brother wants to show. Being on the feeds doesn't mean anything. People used to think that you could see where you sit with the HoH by the old key wheel but you can also tell where you sit with Production by the DR calls. And there have been a handful of powers and game advantages that people have sniffed out because of DR calls.

I really miss the old Big Brother calls. Now they can isolate it to a certain room so it can be harder to track and it doesn't mess up games when there would be a secret alliance meeting and BB would roast them all for their microphones or talking about Production. Bring back the global house shouting!

Nowadays, houseguests telling the truth is about 1% of the segments. The other 99% is them setting up comps, discussing comps in a super scripted way, or mouthing endless clichés. They're literally just filler now, or ways to misdirect the viewers. I absolutely hate it and FF when possible.

That's so true.   I recently rewatched BBOTT to cheer myself up and sadly discovered that the unscripted DRs were not included in the "episodes".  Each HG would have a DR once a week on the feeds that were not prompted, just them talking about their game and strategies as it evolved.  It was awesome because they were reacting in real time and couldn't go back and make revisions later on.

Every DR in this season just seems fake.

I REALLY need to learn to read the whole thread before commenting, lol.  @Alice Mudgarden, I wish you had been able to watch during the original airing on the feeds.  The episodes cover the basics, but a lot was lost in the edits.  So much behind the scenes drama and a lot of the people got especially kind edits that skewed the overall perception of what they were like.  Also, watching the competitions in real time was amazing.  Especially on the individual ones where people would be timing to see who was in the lead.  I really wish they'd do this again..

Ian is not correct in defining time. He is defining half-life. Cody is actually closer in understanding by asking doesn’t have to do with us going around the sun? What does that have to do with an object decaying? 😂😂😂 They all just assume Ian knows everything. So, what is time? My eccentric 7th grade history teacher spent a lot of time having us learn that time is space and understanding that concept clearly before we even launched in to any history. We had to make a timeline that took all year and was about 200 pages long taped together and each of us had it wrapped up in a scroll and it was stressful to keep track of it all year. Random, but we learned a lot. I would tell Cody that time is space and let him have a think on that.

What I don't get is they still do them all throughout the house but they also sometimes just do them in a single room or whatever. Like how do they decide which they're gonna do and why lol?

You can still watch the episodes on CBS all access. I didnt watch OTT when it was first airing as I didnt have the service yet, and I regretted it in hindsight. After watching the eps, I would have loved to experience it fully. I mean, Shelby alone.

I know the rumor is that Kass doesn’t want OTT so much as mentioned, let alone any of the cast brought back because she herself didn’t personally select them. However, given the dumpster fire that has been this season, they should really rethink that policy if they ever do anything with alumni again. The OTT season had a smaller following, but it was a pretty devoted one. When you see a season where women keep getting booted while the women in the house say they love women while nominating and trash talking women, you can’t help thinking longingly of the Ballsmashers.

To be fair, Production offers "suggestions" to everyone about their look.  They have a character they're trying to craft for everyone.   They buts clothes for people and discourage them from changing their hair or overall look because it makes it harder to mix in non-current comments.   It's just as insulting as having someone with a Southern accent wear overalls or making the designated "nerdy" person wear glasses and a button down.

Like all reality shows, BB caters to the lowest common denominator and needs you to quickly know what stereotype slot a person is filling.

Look at how many castaways from Winners at War on Survivor had a signature look that the insisted on recreating.

Christmas is talking to us in HOH about having to be sneaky and laying a trap to see who comes out of a room and who comes up to HOH just to see if all is ok. She is feeling paranoid about trusting Tyler and nervous that he may be working with Day and Bay and if so, that is a problem. She seems to want to figure it out now. She is also so annoyed that Ian didn’t compete in Veto. Crazy Competitive Christmas is coming OUT. She is highly irritated.

Cody is wound tighter than usual and is snapping at Daniele. He is either jealous that Dani made food for Nicole and even toasted it, or he is trying to draw attention to their closeness.

They are getting stir crazy. Tensions are rising. Please give them alcohol.

Love Island airs every night?   They can't fill up 3 hours a week of this boring shit show so what the hell is going on over there that they can air 7 nights a week.  Is is just porn?  Like, are they actually fucking on screen?   I don't see the draw otherwise.

Isn't the scariest place in the BB house the water closet?

Enzo: "I used to live in a basement".  Me:. "Really?   Are you serious?  You?  Mr. Bro, yo?   You seem so adult and together.  I am literally shocked.  I am, like, touched an electric wire ( in a roll on the shelf at Home Depot) shocked."

You don’t see the difference between making someone wear a dumb outfit (that fits a producer-created character) and telling a black woman to keep her braids so people can tell her apart from another black woman? One is dumb, one is saying “black women look alike” which is HIGHLY PROBLEMATIC.

1) I happen to find perpetuating stereotypes that Southern people are ignorant yokels, gay people are all effeminate and bullied and people with some education are nerds insulting.  Of you don't, fine.  But if you want respect for stereotypes that offend you, you should be respective of other people's as well.  2) I have plenty of times heard on these boards "I can't tell the bland blondes apart" with reactions of ha ha of me either, not outrage.  They are real people too and offensive is offensive.  I'm not going to argue ove degrees of offensiveness.

I do think the stereotypes you mentioned in 1) are offensive., though I’m not sure how the “gay people are effeminate” stereotype worked its way into the discussion when it wasn’t mentioned in your post that I was replying to.

I do think there are degrees of offensiveness and racism is right up there near the top, so we can agree to disagree on that one because clearly we won’t come to consensus.

Dear Lord:

So once again I'm willing to go without my Barilla for a solid week if you'd please, please, PLEASE give David the wisdom to stfu about his power!

It is too bad he can't use it this week to save Bay.

Poor Christmas, sobbing her heart out in the storage room! It makes my heart melt!

That’s sarcasm, right? Sure is difficult for poor Christmas to have power this week. Ha!

Is Swaggy on Love Island?

He’s married so that would be mighty odd.

David’s power is very good, and I’m impressed he didn’t spill the beans to anyone. Or he did and production just didn’t show it on the feeds.

Or David doesn't realize that the cameras are running 24/7 and thinks they only turn on when it's show/comp time.

Tyler is talking to Bay and Day. He’s crying and saying he doesn’t want to be there anymore.

Just now, Shorty186 said:

Can someone explain how the HGs are able to tweet? And when did that start?

It’s been happening all season. I think they tell their tweet to production, who tweets it for them so the houseguest can’t see anything on Twitter.

Erika Landin helped cast OTT.

And his celebration in the dark, throwing popcorn in the air, was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I would love if someone could find a GIF of that. I won't lie... I laughed myself sick over the whole basement comp, sort of like I do over Survivor blindfold comps. I think that says something bad about me but I don't care. We like what we like. 🤣

I think Bayleigh is trying not to have a tantrum  like she did her first season.

Very successfully too. She's really matured.

I don't fucking care. Then don't sign up to be away from your precious love if you can't bear to be apart from them for longer than five fucking minutes.

I'm (irrationally, I know) pissed because the people who wanted to play the game as intended were all sent home in the first few weeks and the rest in the house either want to chill with their friends to final whatever or are racing each other out the door because they have a sad.

And then there's Memphis. His business hours are from 6 am to 8 pm, by appointment only.

I'm really thinking there might be some dark aspects to Tangela. Like ... it's not normal for a young guy to never spend ANY time apart from his gf. It's like he has no friends, he doesn't see his family anymore, and can't live for a second without her.
