So Kat posted this... and don't take me wrong because I like this crazy girl...but I'm just curious if some Texans may take offense at her blacking out her teeth in reference to "officially being a Texan" now? Seems to be in poor taste, in my opinion.

Lol. I’m from Texas...all my life. I don’t find it offensive at all. It’s light-hearted humor.

Oh cripes, thanks for telling me without being cruel. I was clearly not paying attention. I’ll delete it.

Still think it was bad judgement but she’s younger than vet Kat so I’m not as surprised.

It might have been better if the music wasn’t so loud.  You couldn’t even hear her taps.   It was pretty boring to me.  Didn’t even watch it all.

I know the Heather nude photo situation has been talked to death, but it was fascinating watching Cheer on Netflix and seeing how a different coach (still Texas, still conservative, with very high standards) handled the same exact situation. Monica Aldama immediately got the police involved and made sure her cheerleader got support and justice. Meanwhile, Kelli demotes one of their best ambassadors, who was probably terrified And needed to feel safe.

I looove that show. Binged watched it in two days and now I need more.

Probably because Monica cares about her kids, while Kelli cares about her paycheck?

That’s not fair to generalize like that.   Kelly has showed compassion and understanding towards a lot of the DCCs and TCCa over the years.  It’s safe to assume we don’t know the full story behind the times she’s seems sympathetic versus unsympathetic from one situation to the next.  And she didn’t cut Heather, she just took her GL away.   If everyone was told no nude photos on your phone cause you’re a target for hackers, and a group leader defies that rule, has nude photos on her phone and gets hacked, don’t you think that’s cause to remove their leadership temporarily to show that you need to follow the rules?   And for all we know, maybe Kelli did engage the police to get the photos taken down and the hacker prosecuted.

The Dallas Cowboys brand comes first
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand comes second
The Girls come third (or lower)

At least that's how I perceive it.

They don't even take the courtesy to spell the cheerleaders' names correctly  🤮 https://www.dallascowboys.com/video/gbvsdal-gameday-girl-jaylen-2019 🤢

I watched that series too. It clearly demonstrates how a coach can get the very best out of their athletes by building them up, not threatening their sense of security and belonging, and treating them with respect. A certain team could learn a lot from Monica. It was refreshing and uplifting to witness that type of coaching.

I agree with you for the most part, but I have to say that when Monica forced a guy with an injured back to keep working until he was on the floor in tears, well, at that point I preferred Kelli's methods.

I am from Texas too and I don't see the harm in it. She could have posted herself in front of an apple pie and someone who is a Kat hater would have found it offensive. People need to get a backbone.

I don't buy it. Sorry but I don't. I honestly feel like Kelli is worried about her image, and keeping the bosses happy. I truly believe she would remove anyone from the team who would jeopardize either.

I think Kelli is more worried about losing the show and all the "Hollywood" things she gets to do and the people she gets to meet. She probably cared about the brand in the beginning, but I think now it is more about her and the show.

IMO, the difference is that the peeps from “Cheer” are college students at a JUCO and the coach has two years with them. There’s a reasonable expectation that they might need a bit more “mothering” and real world guidance. Also, Corsicana is a small AF town and they (including the police if the documentary is anything to go on) have rallied around their national award winning team.  They’re probably able and willing to spend time helping out a victim of photo left/revenge porn. (Contrast this to the cover up Waco and Baylor did for their sexual assaults, but I digress...)

Being a DCC is a paid job already out in the real world, and while there are some ladies in the same age group, it’s not unreasonable for their employer to expect them to be professional. Exceptions made, of course, and Kelli bounces between cold and motherly all the time. Nature of the beast.

The crime against Heather wasn’t televised, and Kelli very well could have worked with her on resources to press charges.  If it happened in Dallas proper, though, where resources are scarce? Who knows what repercussions Heather had as a victim.  IMO, her staying on the team was only because Kelli liked her, because a less liked vet could have easily been fired. Losing her leadership position because she showed poor judgment (taking/sharing photos they’ve all been warned about taking, especially with the very real risk of hacking) isn’t unreasonable. I work for a household name and while I wouldn’t be fired for a scandal, probably, I’m not going to be shocked if I’m passed over for a promotion either.

Heather seems to know and accept the DCC’s opinion on the matter or probably wouldn’t have returned.

I completely agree. The difference is staggering. Monica made DCC leadership look catty and completely tone deaf.

I don't dislike Amy one bit, and even the Pro Bowl thing doesn't bug me.  She seems very likable, is a good teacher and is probably a great teammate.  That combined with her tenure is good enough to make Pro Bowl to me, though I think Heather would have been a good choice too.

Still don't think Amy should have been point, though.  Even as a "shared" position.

I think Amy is pretty, but I liked her long hair.  Of course, I'm jealous of anyone who can grow their hair out so I always think they should never cut it:/

I'm happy she got to be point, but at the same time I kept comparing her to KaShara and wanted that "pop" KaShara had.  Maddie - just not a fan.  Gina would have been great with Caroline or Amber or Bridget in the triangle.  It was great to see different girls at point during different routines.  I would love to see them get rid of Thunderstruck and go back to different songs/points like they used to do.

I like Amy and I’m thrilled she’s pro bowl.  She’s been a group leader 2 years, a second leader a year, co- point and seems genuine.  She’s won Barbies for her solo several years. A great teacher.  On the show you see her numerous times working with the girls. We all have her favs but Amy deserved this and is a good ambassador   She’s cute. I’d kill for her metabolism.

I don’t think point went to her head and pro bowl her gushing excitement sounds just like Lacey and Kashara.  The filming at her home with her husband when she got point was driven by cmt and yes she let Kashara know Maddie was point also.  That was not derogatory.

I like heather but see nothing where she’s so much better than Amy She should have gotten pro bowl.  .  My heart hurts for her that someone on here decided to tell us about the photos.  If it didn’t come out at the time, no need to tell us now.  That being said Amy has had guest choreographers compliment and point her out.  Never saw that with Heather.  Ever .....

I don't get the Amy coming across as smug at all. Like I didn't see that. She was happy she got point, I didn't think she was braggy or anything about it. If you don't like her and think she's bland and all I get it. But I didn't see her acting smug or entitled or whatever about it. Nor has she seemed upset that Maddie is really point more than she is.

I didn't care for the "that's cute" between her & Kashara.  I would not be at all surprised if an insider ever spills about them being closet mean girls.

I doubt it.  I think after all the drama, you had these girls like KaShara, Amy, Lacey, Heather, Tasha, Khalyn, etc who stayed, did what they had to do, helped the other girls out and provided solid leadership for the squad.  If Megan, Amy T, Melissa W and Mary had stayed, they would have done the same thing.  I think it made a difference with these other girls having other things in their lives besides DCC.

And I think that whole CMT convo was staged - who knows what really went on.  To me, it was almost like they were just ready to hang up and go to sleep.

That series was interesting, but I didn’t like how school seemed to be a complete afterthought and the classes seemed like basic/non-advanced high school level.   Some of them were literally saying I’m majoring in cheerleading and hate school.

Then many of them are returning to a junior college for a third year instead of moving on to 4 year schools.   It just came across as a place that’s holding them back from growing up and prolonging the “cheer is all there is and I’m going to stay in 13-14th grade as long as I can” attitude.  Why w/ all their talent can’t they go cheer at a 4 year school?  Is it that they can’t get in, or are they too attached to that junior college program to move on?   Although cheer may be keeping them out of trouble now, the outlook for the future isn’t the best.  Or maybe these kids are the type that weren’t meant to go to college anyways and it’s just an extended All Star program that competes at Daytona.

That's true.  just because something isn't posted on social media doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Yeah and if the police were engaged it would make good sense to NOT take reality show cameras to the meeting - I think nude photo hacking scandals are probably best handled w/ discretion.

Ditto.  I'm trying to skim past her PB pics.  Used to have fun sleuthing out pics for previous PB DCCs.  Zero interest this round.

Amy for me is the most blah, vanilla, boring point and PBC ever.  Maddie wouldn't have been my point choice but she had a lot more personality and sparkle by a long shot.
