Robert and Anny: Uber Stupid

I found this cruise itinerary on the Carnival Elation from Florida that spends 8 hours in "The D.R." I'll bet it's the one (or at least similar) Robert took, only $ 279 per person!

Cruise itinerary

Day 1 ∙ Port Canaveral, United States Depart 3:30pm

Day 2 ∙ Fun Day At Sea

Day 3 ∙ Amber Cove, Dominican Republic Arrive 10:30am - Depart 6:30pm

Day 4 ∙ Grand Turks, Turks and Caicos Islands Arrive 8:00am - Depart 4:00pm

Day 5 ∙ Fun Day At Sea

Day 6 ∙ Port Canaveral, United States Arrive 8:00am

If this is a mother/daughter Porno Team and "Diamond" is Robert's ex MIL, does that mean that "Tara Lynn" is Bryson's mother?

Oh wait, they spell Fox differently, so I guess they're not really related.

Warning, don't make the same mistake I did and Google her name!

I feel like the USC's should prep their foreign fiancees about the realities of living in the States. Start them on a diet of Hoarders, Extreme Couponing, Honey Boo Boo. Shows that portray a grittier USA and tell them to stop watching The Hills, The Kardashians and sitcoms. Get them to understand and love the thought of discount shopping and 10 for $10 specials.

Before I traveled to the States, I thought everyone was uber rich and lived in massive houses with big yards. These days I'm excited when I go to GAP and find my favorite pair of jeans for $4 plus tax because they're having a huge sale. Buying things full price is overrated and the mark up in foreign countries like Thailand, The Philippines and South Africa have on luxury brands is ridiculous (and I'm sure it is the same in the DR too) so Anny should embrace the fact she can get pricey clothes at a quarter the price because Robert took her to a second hand store.

So, this means he got off the boat, travelled to her location, talked, had sex, maybe a light lunch, took 1700 kissy face selfies, proposed and got back to the boat in under eight hours?  Because from the time I took a cruise they were VERY CLEAR that you had to be on the boat before the departure time.

Back when I was a travel writer I always assumed that the country I was visiting was culturally and geographically diverse and I would try to refrain from stereotyping. I almost always got a "what's America like" question (something that can't be answered in one sentence since even one end of my county differs from the other) . I also ran into the stereotype of all Americans being wealthy. Pay wise we kind of comparatively are, but it is hard to get people to understand that cost of living has to figure into that, too. I was surprised that Mursel thought there were lots of mountains and tall buildings everywhere. It really does say something about Hollywood's portrayal of us. Still, I guess at this point I expect adults to see past the media and to do their own research. I have lots of friends who are anglophiles and obsessed with England. Those friends see England as 3 ways: Jane Austen, Beatrix Potter, and London. They were shocked that we lived in what was basically a subdivision and not in a thatched cottage or manor home.

A few months ago a Swedish friend asked me to recommend some movies that showed MY state so that she could get an ide of what it is like. Hollywood tends to show CA, NYC, Miami, and occasionally Chicago. "Middle class" is represented through films like HOME ALONE (in reality we are probably closer to ROSEANNE). It took forever for me to find her movies that came anywhere close to representing my state. I told her to basically combine SONGCATCHER, WINTER'S BONE, ELIZABETHTOWN, and COAL MINER'S DAUGHTER. Hollywood doesn't make movies about us in present day. It's one of the resons I try to set a lot of my books here.

And that would be for an INTERIOR cabin (no windows), and if he didn't have a roommate, he would have paid close to double that.

The man had an agenda and he certainly kept to it, did he not?  It was probably less than 8 hours as it takes a bit of time to get off the boat plus he was probably told to be back by six.

And I would politely correct your version of events by switching the order a bit:  Travelled to her location, had sex then talked, maybe a light lunch (dollar value meal) then headed back to the boat.

Yes, I'm shocked by his efficiency.  He really had to hit the ground running!  He must have been first at the ramp to get off the boat!

I had assumed the pre-sex "talking" was to determine a location for the sex.

But, in retrospect, they probably would have arranged that via text in the taxi.....I mean it would be the most efficient use of his time.

Upon further reflection, I think it's possible Robert wrapped up some breakfast buffet goodies for a "light lunch" which saved both time and money.

Anny probably got treated to some of the finest stale morning pastries that carnival cruises had to offer.

Even Roseanne Connor’s family was wealthy compared to mine. They lived in a big single-family home with a yard, basement, garage, and two vehicles. And they didn’t have to leave their home to do laundry. With that show being passed off as representative of “working class” Americans, I could understand why foreigners think we’re all living high on the hog. I think the most educated and informed opinion about the U.S. came from Michael’s (Nigeria) mother when she expressed her concern for her son’s safety with the prevalence of gun violence in this country.

My problem with the Connors is  similar one I had with the Bundys-they were always talking about struggling financially, yet their home and clothes never really reflected this.

I’m still team Robert. Anny was only happy when she was getting “ sexy” trashy lingerie. Shit ain’t La Perla.

Id like to point out to her that Chanel has no Espicy line, and that her clothing is not expensive, elegant, or flattering to her no waist having self. Since all she offers is her rather basic good looks, she better start passing up the rice and tostones, cuz she looked like a sausage bursting it’s casing in that shiteous jumpsuit and sweatshop made lingerie. Beautiful women from Latin America trying to get a green card are a dime a dozen. Sure, go to Miami. You’ll be a Duff there. Even Robert can do better than her sullen ass.

Id like to see his hair down. It looks quite nice. And Bryson is a gorgeous child. Beautiful enough to be a child model. He’d probably out earn his Daddy.

Just catching up and (N)any isn’t pretty at all. I think she’s basic looking but she makes the most of what she has. Robert is awful, like Eric awful. When your not attractive and poor you really need to compensate with a personality. I’d have a better conversation with a closet door

The Connors were always talking aobut their dump of a house, but it was really nice.  I mean the set reflected worn out furniture and carpet, etc.... but they really had a LOT of space for people struggling to pay bills; and the kids had their own bathroom with a huge workshop garage!.  And it was a super cute craftsman home.  I grew up in Georgia during the time Rosanne first aired and a house like that definitely did not reflect the struggling working class.

Anny is an uber gold digger and has unrealistic expectations.  I don't think she knows much about designers or brands even, so I think if Robert had just taken her to Target and bought her new (even on sale) stuff she would be happy.  Robert is awful and treats her like his new sex toy.  Remember Brett and Daya?  He struggled financially, but lived in a nice house (with roommates) and they eventually bought their own.  Even with someone like that I think Anny would be content; I think it's the attitude of I brought you here and you are going to be happy with 2nd hand thrift store things and that's all you get now give me sex, that's really off putting.  He probably bought her lingerie from a thrift store and just repackaged it.  I still don't know how she is able to come over on a K1 when they only knew each other in person for 8 hrs??????  Don't people have to have documentation of like a year or so together (pictures together, etc.....) to prove their relationship is real and not just an internet one night stand basically?

The 8 hour cruise port stop in the DR might have been Anny's idea all along. Instead of Robert coming to visit for a few days to "get to know each other" but if it didn't work out she'd be stuck with him, she has a finite window of time to decide if she wants to use him for her Green Card Daddy. Take a bunch of pictures, have some jiggy jiggy, then he gets back on the ship, see ya! I'll bet Robert talked a good game while he was there to impress her.

Hopefully she was and still is on birth control because we've established that Robert has Super Sperm.

Yes,I realize that Roseanne and the Connors was still Hollywoodized and not reflective of true working class homes, but in a pinch can you guys think of another from that era that even tried to do it? When providing an example, it's the closest I could get.

In a pinch, I think Snowfall pretty adequately depicts the small homes of working class people.

Its shot in a neighborhood where my friends parents have lived for like 30+ years so I know it's accurate.

(N)Anny is country. She's a small timer playing like she's a sophisticated woman of the world. Ok Nomi Malone. Tell me the difference between Chanel, Gucci, and Versace. What is the difference between couture and pret a porter? However, I think Cardi D- would also be unhappy with Target. She likes "labels" that she knows and she likes sexy. The clothes at Target are new and cute. She wants sexy. She wants the Darcey Silva special--tits spilling out and skirt barely covering her coochie. If she is wearing pants, she wants them to be painted on. She's not a subtle lady. I'm fairly certain she'd be disappointed with Target's relative subtlety.

We know Robert didn't buy (N)Anny's lingerie at a thrift store because we literally watched Robert purchase it in a regular store and most thrift stores don't carry underwear or lingerie because the ick factor is too high. Go to a Goodwill and see if you find underwear. You won't. Goodwill gets lots from Target, but Target's unsold underwear largely goes to Big Lots, homeless shelters, domestic violence shelters, and bale headed to third world countries.

We saw Robert buy the white top.  We didn't see him purchase the blue number that anny put on.

I don't see why thrift stores wouldn't sell unused lingerie (ostensibly proven because the tag is still attached).

I would have thought that if a person brought a pair of panties back to Victoria secret with the tags still on they would put them back on the sales floor (barring any obvious signs of use).

If a retailer would sell an unworn returned piece of lingerie with the tags still attached, then it seems like it would be acceptable for a thrift store to do the same.

I've never returned a pair of underwear from a retailer but I've never been advised that it's a final sale item or is unreturnable.

ETA: apparently some thrift stores not only carry lingerie but straight up used panties....which is a bridge too far IMO

https://toughnickel.com/frugal-living/The-Five-Rules-of-Thrift-Store-Shopping-by-an-Ex-Thrift-Store-Employee-thrift-stores-thrifting

And I guess some Goodwills also sell used lingerie/panties

https://www.disboards.com/threads/does-your-goodwill-sell-underwear-mine-does.3620780/

And how could I have forgotten this extreme cheapstakes gem featuring a woman shopping for AND TRYING ON thrift store lingerie (complete with her sniffing the crotch of a used thong)

In the stores I frequent, there is generally a sticker on the crotch of the underwear that states you cannot return lingerie or swimwear....

I would never buy used underwear and I always try to purchase underwear that has the sticker on the crotch.

I buy my cotton granny panties in a sealed package at Walmart.  Ain't nobody tried those puppies on.

I donate a lot of used clothing to Goodwill, but have never (and would never) donate underwear.  I do have a stack of cotton camisoles that I would donate . . . but nothing that is worn lower on the body.

I have seen that on swimwear but not on panties where I buy them.  I have a few from VS with the tags on, but there is no panty liner and I don't remember anything on the receipt saying you can't return.  Ive never returned bras and panties, but i always like to read the return policy.

ETA- so now I'm down the rabbit hole with this topic.

Victoria's Secret will allow a consumer to return underwear and get a refund...... BUT they will immediately shred the returned underwear EVEN if it still has the tag on it.

Interestingly, on one of those sites a woman said that she bought a sealed pack of underwear and didn't like the way the first one out of the package so she donated the rest.

So essentially they were never used but they didn't have a tag on them.

Her name and photo are out there because she was arrested for domestic violence against Robert after a neighbor called the police. When the cops arrived, she attacked them, and there was substance or alcohol abuse involved.

There was an argument somewhere where one person said her mom bailed her out of jail and sent her to rehab but she got kicked out of rehab and ended up back in jail. Then another person said it wasn't true and demanded to know who the first person was and that person demanded to know who the second person was, then the dementor named Lieda decided the world needed her opinion and sucked all enjoyment out of the online spat, everyone turned on her instead, and I just moved on.

That same article had a leak proving that Anny knew about Robert's other children and that Bryson's grandma was a porn star, but she'll appear shocked and disgusted on the show. I cannot find it again right now. I'm blaming it on Leida; she probably got the entire thing deleted with her pure awfulness.

Anny is tired of discriminating comments. Maybe she shouldn't have decided to be the villain of the season for air time and hope for another season.

Can we stop the rumors that Robert bought the lingerie at a thrift shop.

I have it from a very unreliable source that they were actually highly collectible, film worn, hand me downs from Robert's ex-MIL, with the bodily fluids of several famous porn stars on them.

I watch American pickers and anny probably cut the value in half by wearing them and covering them in a new set of fluids.

Funny, but appropriate comeback.

However, when my grandkids were born, hubby and I together didn't make a lot, but we put our money where our mouths were (an ugly mental picture when discussing Diamond Foxx) when it came to making sure our grandkids didn't need any of the basics of life.  Like food, a bed, clothing, etc.

She was dressed well and obviously invested money in her own hair and makeup.  If she REALLY loved that child, he'd have his own bed (unless Robert refused to let her buy one).

Shoot - given his love of thrift store shopping, ROBERT could have bought his son a bed for less than he spent on NAnny's lingerie.

You can buy a plastic paw patrol toddler bed or even a plain plastic one from walmart or amazon for around  $50.  You can buy a toddler cot that is comfortable and new for around $25 (and you don't even need sheets or a mattress.)  So Robert has no excuse for his kid not having a bed, NONE.

Maybe, but on shows like Intervention we've seen some addicts who look like death on a pogo stick but still make enough money from doing web-cam porn that they can continue their addictions and tell their families to take a hike with the rehab offers.

And on My 600 Lb Life, the money and travel that goes with fat porn and feeder porn is startling.

Porn is apparently quite lucrative.
