Are you F-ing kidding me!!! What is this the Phil & Coach Mike show?! That grease-ball is on every other show! Looks like Phil can't carry a show by himself anymore!!!

I have started turning the show off when Mike shows up.  I have listened to him enough to understand what he brings to the discussion and it is very little.

I think Phil is at a loss since the death of Frank (?) Lawless who actually did have solid credentials.

"Coach Mike" upon google sesrching him, has not much of a background on his life prior to Phil. It seems like Mike just dropped out of the sky. His bio info states he's mentored athletes, actors and numerous people in the "entertainment" industry but no specifics on names. What a pile of shit.

And if anyone on here wants a good laigh or needs to puke...look at Robin's Instagram.

Dr. Frank Lawlis is still alive.  It was the lie-detector specialist - Jack Trimarco - who recently passed away.

By the way, what degrees does this coach Mike have? We all need to think of a good name for him!😉

Next week's episodes (descriptions from Dr. Phil's website since Zap2It just has the titles):

Quote

1/28: Criminal Love: Why Women Date Inmates

Alexx says she loves dating prisoners and can’t stop. Alexx’s sister, Jenna, says she is desperate for Dr. Phil’s help because Alexx is speaking with at least seven convicted felons. She says her sister is trying to buy the love of these dangerous men. Alexx says she knows she is destroying her life with this illicit love, but her criminals need her. And, Suzie is also not giving up on her love behind bars. She’s married to an inmate and is trying to make it work by keeping a personal account of their love online and inspiring other inmates to connect with their loved ones through a blog called Inmate Blogger. Her mother, Penny, is not a fan of her daughter’s inmate marriage, and she says she’s worried for her daughter’s safety.

1/29: In Love with a Rageaholic

Alethea says she feels like a prisoner trapped in a rage-filled relationship with her partner of 15 years, Kevin, and has even resorted to secretly taping his anger just to have proof.

Alethea says “The Hulk,” also known as “Kevin’s anger,” is so off the charts, that even strangers who have witnessed it have called the police. Alethea says if the anger doesn’t stop, she is done. Kevin says he believes his rage is a result of brain trauma — but is it? Dr. Phil gives them both answers when he reveals the results of an MRI brain scan which was performed on Kevin by internationally recognized neuroradiologist Dr. Bradley Jabour.

1/30: Our Son Is a 40-Year-Old Homeless Car Camper

Harv and Lynne say their son, Mark, is an adolescent living in a 41-year-old man’s body. Mark is currently homeless and living in his beat-up car held together with bungee cords and glue.

But Mark claims he is “car camping” and not homeless. He says that he chooses to live in his car because it gives him the freedom to travel which broadens his horizons. His sister, Jill, says not only is Mark currently living in his car, but he was also using it to earn to earn a living driving for a ridesharing company, until the hood popped on the freeway while he was driving a client, and Mark got fired. Mark’s family says he needs to get his life together, but Jill says their mother first needs to stop enabling Mark.

1/31: The Boy Under the Stairs: Hero Siblings Speak Out

Police called it one of worst crimes they’d ever witnessed. A 5-year-old boy held captive in a tiny cubbyhole in a closet under the stairs.

Jordan Bleimeyer was starved and abused, and was just 29 pounds when he was rescued. Dr. Phil went inside his closet of horrors when this story broke and exclusively interviewed his stepmother, Tammi Bleimeyer, who is now behind bars. She denied she ever hurt Jordan — but her children tell a different story. In an exclusive interview, they reveal how they snuck Jordan food and freed him from his closet prison, saving his life.

2/1: I'm Afraid of My Out-of-Control, Video-Gaming Addicted Son

Jennifer says her 12-year-old son, Alex, is obsessed with playing violent video games. She says he has spent 20 hours straight killing people in his online gaming world.

Jennifer says her son’s violent gaming addiction is not only exacerbating his numerous behavioral issues, but she fears it may be the catalyst for him becoming the next school shooter. Jennifer says her son’s behavior is so extreme, he has even stabbed her with large metal tweezers and set a fire in an attempt to burn down their house. Jennifer has captured her son’s behavior on film and shares her shocking home video footage with Dr. Phil. You don’t want to miss what happens when Dr. Phil sits down with young Alex.

I got sequestered in the hotel today, due to the snow in Chicago, so I was watching this.  Left it in the middle to go find food before it started snowing again.  Waste of time.

This episode was very disturbing.  I thought surely that Dr. P would offer to send her off to one of his sponsor's facilities for treatment. Apparently, they wanted nothing to do with the situation.  If anyone in this universe needs help, it is she.  I do not believe for one second she was bluffing.

You're not kidding!  I haven't watched Phil for weeks but a winter storm kept me home and I saw this episode.  I don't think she was bluffing either.  I don't know what kind of help she needs, but she needs heavy duty mental help or therapy or something.  And Phil just lets her walk away.

Why are prisoners even allowed to indulge in love affairs with complete strangers?  It's so dangerous.

She is a very pretty girl.  I heard her say something about how heavy she used to be and how it affected her.  I hope he does a follow up on her.  He should have told her if they were both convicted of something they would not be serving time in the same cell.  And if she goes to jail she won't be able to send him money.

The worst part was when she said about her daughter “Out of sight, out of mind”. It’s good she had her daughter adopted since she only cares about her felon boyfriends. She seemed proud to say she was very twisted. The other woman who is married to a guy in jail for 43 years or whatever it was is equally dumb.

I agree with your statement.  The second woman was equally as dumb but the first woman was dating these guys just because they were prisoners.

It is sickening that she thinks the way that she does. Adoption mom needs to stop all contact. She was so enamored with dating felons and really enjoyed seeing herself living on the dark side.

The other one seemed so naive and helpless. She isn't but comes across as someone who doesn't have any critical thinking skills or self-esteem. Her felon husband tried to sound intelligent, bless his cold, black heart. My guess is that she isn't his only love interest.

Yes, Manchild Mark (thanks iHateAmpersands) is delusional all right...but watching his family giggling and chuckling about the situation was cringeworthy. Especially his sister and father.

Today’s show with the demon 12 year old.  A couple of observations:

Yes, they have more than 50 guns in the House because the late husband and father was a collector.  He died in September.  Phil’s idea, not well thought out, is for her to load them up and take them to a gun store.  That would be great if some time had passed, but this is barely three months.  When my dad died, it took my mom nearly a year to unload my dad’s stuff.

Which brings me to my second observations:  THE WOMAN JUST LOST HER HUSBAND!!!!!!!  Did he completely miss the signs of complete depression this woman was exhibiting?  I understand Sis wanting to help, but getting Mom some help for her depression over her loss.  That would go a long way to help her deal with this child, too.

Are you f-ing me?  50 weapons in a house with a little nutbag and a clueless mother?

Hey Schill.  Where is your "mandated reporter" crap now?"

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I've always thought the Columbine boys parents should have been locked up for aiding & abetting.

Stop this " boo-hoo, I can't control my kids" crap and hold their feet to the fire and slap some cuffs on these parents.

I agree about the Columbine parents.  I used to tell my sons (ages 19 and 21) "Well do you want to hear this from me or your parole officer?  Choice is yours."

JUST BE A PARENT.  Not a friend, not a buddy.  Your child will be uncomfortable for a bit?  So are the cots in juvie or jail.

My daughters were 7 and 8 when my husband died. I got rid of his many guns within 3 weeks. I had my dad take care of them when he came to visit. And, my children were not violent or brats. Just didn’t think it was a good idea to have guns in the house anymore. I was never comfortable with them being there even though they were secured.

The Columbine parents did have their kids in therapy. The reality is that these kids know their audience and how to shift blame on others and some therapists are not that bright. They see the kids for 45 minutes a week and are supposed to make an assessment. I don't know if the Columbine parents should be in jail or not. Their lives have been ruined.

The gaming kid definitely needs residential treatment. He seemed to realize the error of his ways when Dr. Phil tossed the baggie of a broken controller into his lap. I am not sure mom has the ability to parent this kid by herself. I agree with the poster above who thought that she seems depressed.

I would still be spinning in the air if I called one of my parents a pheasant or even thought about doing some of the things gamer kid did to his mother. It is crazy because we had fewer toys, etc. growing up. These kids have so many things - cellphone, gaming equipment, tvs, etc. that it is very easy for parents to withhold as a consequence. It baffling that these kids can still keep their things when they act out.

I do agree that jail is not the answer for them - they probably want to change their names and move far far away.

Second bolding:  I am a teacher (special ed) and I, too, can give an armchair diagnosis as to why this goes on:  Parents today in their 30's and 40's were probably (I use the word probably) brought up by stricter parents, maybe a dad was in the military.  (Full disclosure:  I was born in 1965, my dad was in the navy.  Firm yet fair, he did NOT play.)  Now this new generation of parents are anti-strict:  THEY WANNA BE FRIENDS!!!  "Nope, my dad was so hard on me, I want to be nice with my kids.  What if he is mad at me?"  WHo cares? Let him be mad, Mom.  He will come around when it is time to get money or food, lol.

Also to note:  I never understood why parents have trouble saying no.  My own kids will tell you:  "Geez that was one of mom's favorite things to say!!"

Am I the only one who thinks some of these shows are fake, or are there really that many dumb people out there?   The reason I ask is because so many people today want their 15 minutes of fame, and maybe they think they can make a fortune by being a nutcase on Phil.  I just remember Ms. "Cash me outside" who turned her show on Phil to a multi million dollar enterprise.  Maybe I'm naive but I just think a lot of these people are total fakes with fake stories.

I lived in Colorado during Columbine, and for years after.    There was a lot that was never said in the news about the murderers.    One father was reported to have found his son was making pipe bombs, thought it was a lark, and his reaction was to take his son out in the boonies, and detonated some of them together.    The parents claimed they didn't know anything, but the UPS man heard strange stuff going on, because the two murderers were building their bombs, and working on their guns in the garage with the door open.    One father heard about the attack, and immediately went to the school, and said he wanted to talk to his son, because he wanted to talk him in to surrendering.    The worst victims were the parents who lost children, or the victims themselves.

The bullying going on wasn't toward the pair, but done by them.     The parents were just clueless, and refuse to admit what their sons did.

I remember some of the public information though. For one thing both were on probation for a felony they did together, and were lucky enough to get a diversion program.     That meant that they went to therapy, and if they completed it, they would have their record expunged.    There were zero consequences from either set of parents, they still had their own cars, were allowed to hang out together, and do whatever they wanted.    Trust me, a kid without rich parents wouldn't have had diversion, and therapy for a felony car burglary, but those two did.

The widow who is so depressed?   It's horrific that she still has all of those weapons in the house.     That's a recipe for disaster.

Years ago, I lived in a town that had a Geraldo episode about the crime problem from a gang of African American women, who car jacked and either hurt or killed the driver.    The only problem was that town didn't have a gang that wasn't male, the crime never happened, and the whole thing was made up.   Geraldo actually came to town, and apologized about it.

The way the shows work is they have a segment producer that pitches a show idea, is responsible for getting guests there, and handling all of it.    Some talk shows (DNA specialists in particular) pay all guests an appearance fee ($2500 each is the last figure I heard for that one that starts with "M").      So many are totally phony.  The DNA tests, are not a surprise either.

Sweeps for all shows, 24/7 happen in February, May, and November.     I think sweeps actually started last week, because a lot of shows are lurid topics, and as controversial as they can get.

I love a catfish show, but I didn't watch this one.

This was interesting for me to watch because my brother is an Erik.   Their ability to keep all their lies going (and keeping them straight) is an amazing accomplishment at the very least.  That they leave utter waste and sadness and destruction in their wake is something I know well.  His poor ex-wife and kids, the crap he put them through.  That being said, until my brother straight out told me that 90% of EVERYTHING he has EVER said to me was a lie, I believed the more mundane stuff, and know that there is NO WAY the mother would have seen any signs.  90% of everything.  That's when the light finally went on and now I have absolutely no contact with him whatsoever.  Just like the ex-wife and kids don't either.  The whole thing is heartbreaking for all of us, but we're all happier for it.  Just because they're family makes it harder to do and the guilt is unbelievable, but it is absolutely necessary.
