Regarding losing a job over a picture, for me it is a judgment call. I don't think a former porn star with all kinds of really graphic stuff online would be the best fit to be a high school teacher. I also think it's bs that sometimes fairly tame stuff or things that were meant to be private in the first place result in women losing their jobs.

Joy was correct that Meghan is in show business, so it's very different. That said, Meghan still has a point. We live in a world where some of the most successful and worshiped people have all kinds of sexy imagery and literally have even gotten their starts with sex. A lot of women around the same age as Meghan and me grew up with dads who loved Playmates like Pamela Anderson, pop stars who looked like they'd be in Playboy, and then TV, films, and reality shows that become more and more risqué as we got older. The media gives us this message that women are supposed to be sexy, gives us this sexed up standard of beauty, that to get attention, be sexy, for a man to want you, be sexy. But at the same time, we're kind of given the message to not be sexy. Parents, especially fathers, don't want their daughters to be sexy or own their curves. In a lot of work environments, sleeveless tops and open-toe shoes are considered too revealing. To avoid cattiness from other females and harassment from men, be covered up. So many mixed messages.

I know so many people whose favorite show is the Kardashians and who praise Jennifer Lopez's behind and barely there clothing. Some of these same people think teachers should never take risqué photos in their personal life, that women who show cleavage (outside of work) dress "scandalously," and can't imagine why a woman would want to take a burlesque class or wear a sexy Halloween costume or whatever. Why is there so much shame for "regular" women who want to feel sexy and express that side of themselves? I don't see why some women get so rewarded for sex tapes, posing completely nude, exposing their big asses, but if you work in an office during the day, your social media and wardrobe must be that of a nun.

I think Joy was wrong to bring up "would a white person forgive a black person?" The topic was about forgiveness, not race. I'm glad Whoopi stopped her even though Whoopi got it all wrong. Whoopi being Whoopi, y'all!"

I wish I could like this post more than once. I completely agree! And as much as I don’t like Meghan, I really appreciated what she said, and that she was passionate about it.

Why can’t a women post a bathing suit photo on social media? It’s not like she was naked, or doing something overtly sexual.

Thank you. :) Meghan's not my favorite either, but now and then I find myself really appreciating what she says too. Due to some of my personal experiences, I can go on and on about this topic. Meghan may feel more passionately about it than some of the others due to her age and looks. She knows what it's like to grow up with a lot of sex thrown in your face, be a pretty woman with a certain body type and feel shamed for flaunting it even a little bit.

In her previous incarnation as a “cool young Republican who supports gay rights”, Meghan often appeared on Rachel’s show. They even went to a gun show together. Very interested to see how they interact tomorrow.

Since I'd already planned to be in NY this week, I put in a last minute ticket request. I received a 'Group A' ticket (aka standby) and made it into the audience for the Maddow episode. I also attended Rachel's first stop on her book tour tonight so it was pretty much a Rachel Thursday for me. Best day ever 🙂

Anyway, Rachel and Meghan greeted each other warmly (everyone received a hug when she came out on crutches). And when she left the stage after her segments she and Meghan kissed each other on the cheek.

Not to rehash the previous discussion, but she wasn't underage in that state 30 years ago.

Since I started this kerfuffle, I just want to formally apologize to the board for my stupid, ill-informed comments regarding Rob Lowe. I apologize to all those I offended.

Now, can someone tell my why Abby said to Rachel that her father wasn't the whistleblower?  Is this a theory?

Wow, if a Group A ticket gives you standby, what does a Group C ticket offer?  A weekend with Meghan?

I think one most certainly can, as can anyone, but it's risk one takes.  While I detest this employer's view, it is (sadly) his right.  That's why we need more forward thinking individuals in power.  But I think the bigger issue is why this woman chooses to post this picture openly.  As my beloved Valerie Cherish would say, "I don't need to see that."  Some things need to be kept private.  Unless you're posing for swimsuit modeling.  I can see gross businessmen ogling her expecting more than a deal.  I'm a firm believer in that you should present yourself as you would like others to see you.

And this goes equally for men in speedos.

Just turn your profile to private.

I am so tired of this mentality that I can do whatever I want.  Yes, you can, but you must also suffer the consequences.

But since Sunny loves to talk about infidelity, judge every adult's business and activities on HER PERSONALLY-PERFECT SCALE...

I don't think she loves to talk about it, but it is a frequent hot topic.  (Not so much Sunny's marriage, but infidelity).  Sunny is very protective of Manny, which I admire.  Maybe overly so, but she is on TV.  She has often stated that if Manny cheated, she wouldn't throw him to the door, she would try to work things out. Which I think, in reality, most people do.

But more importantly, if Manny and Sunny got divorced, who would get custody of the chickens?  Manny for a fried dinner or Sunny for eggs?

judge every adult's business and activities on HER PERSONALLY-PERFECT SCALE...

From the shows that I've watched I've only seen Sunny cop to her not-so perfect moments.  How she smothers her kids, doesn't give Manny enough time, doesn't pay attention to her family, wishes she had more time for her friends, travels too much, drinks too much on occasion, can be a bit "Mama Bear".  Outside of her prosecution record (which she never lost a case) I have never seen her "PERSONALLY-PERFECT SCALE".

I honestly don't remember Sunny comparing her perfect life to others. She has frequently said that she and Manny drive each other crazy, which I think is completely appropriate for a twenty-something year marriage.

I'm curious....do they give you an actual book, or a coupon of some sort?  I'd hate to get a book and have to lug it around with me all day whilst seeing the sites.

How about Rachel's reaction when Abby suggested Rachel is part of the reason people don't trust the news.  It was written all over Rachel's face - Oh, sweet summer child.  I was rolling.  And Joy's assistance of touching Rachel and looking at Abby likes she's an idiot - "Rachel?".  How can the two nepotism twits get away with pretending Fox News is not the problem?  THEY were part of the problem when they worked at Fox.  It's infuriating.

I was absolutely cringing at that.  Whoopi sounded as ignorant as that old lady telling John McCain that Obama was an "Arab".   How do they let this woman be in charge?  Why is the least well-spoken, as well as dyslexic host do all the teleprompter?   She can't pronounce a damn thing and occasionally seems unable to actually see it.  I know, Whoopi's ego.  Here's a suggestion, continue to pay her the most, continue to call her the moderator, let her sit in "her" chair, but have someone, anyone, else do the teleprompter.  Tell Whoopi it's a new perk because she's an EGOT.

Right??? Her reading about the bikini woman on social media was painful.  I had no idea WTF she was talking about.

Eh. I wouldn't put too much stock in Trump's campaign fundraising amount, Meghan. A lot of big businesses and corporations support him. CEO of Planet Fitness, My Pillow guy, the heir to Estée Lauder, and the chairman of Marvel Entertainment have all donated money towards his 2020 campaign - and that's just off the top of my head. That's kind of what Joy was getting at when she brought up Trump's tax cuts for the rich, but Meghan said, "no, that's not it."

It might not be the only reason, but it's for sure a contributing factor. Anytime Joy brings up the tax cuts for the wealthy, Meghan brushes it off.

Not to mention, trump is the only Republican raising money.   All of the Democratic money is being divided.

Yeesh!   I just saw the wide shot.   MM is gonna bust right outta that jacket any second.   It is screaming in pain.   It has stretch marks .   And I'm surprised Meghan can even breathe in that thing.   I've seen Spanx that fit looser than that jacket.

Ooops.   Sorry Haleth - I saw your post right after I submitted mine.   GMTA!

Not body shaming either.   Anyone of any size can wear clothing that is too small.   I'm about MM's size and I would never in a million years wear something that looks so uncomfortable and constricting.   It's making me nervous about a nip slip.

It was the actual book. They handed you a copy as you exited the studio. Luckily I was heading back to the hotel anyway so I was able to leave it there before going back out. It was the same thing for her book tour stop. You were handed a copy of the book as you entered.

After Thursday's live show we were told to stay for the kids segment. I'm looking forward to looking at the DVR recording to see how that turned out. It took quite a while and Joy had to do the 'closing' line twice. The producer said the first closing line was "stepped on" so they asked her to do it again. She jokingly said she didn't want to and to give her another line. They took a few minutes to come up with another line. Then they restarted and filmed it. Also, they would prompt her to keep asking the kids questions as they needed more material.

The first closer was a line about the kids not being old enough to vote. The second was a reference to 'The View in 2033' or something like that.

One more rant!! Lol- Meghan’s rapid fire list of Republicans speaking up fell flat!  She absolutely has no sense of timing or real speaking ability.  And Joy was right . That list did not represent anyone speaking out against trump.  The strongest voice was from Mit Romney (2 weeks ago) and he didn’t say much

And it's not even a long list. They displayed the names of all the Republicans who haven't said a word on CNN and trust me there's no comparison. Meghan's blue card failed her again.

That opening was adorable.

So Meghan interrupts Joy and says, like she's an expert, "The economy is not slowing down.  That's just fake news that the economy is slowing down."  That's not what I've heard over the last few weeks.  Various people who understand economics better than I do, and better than Meghan does, have said there are indications that it is happening.  So I guess, when she said earlier this week that it's important that conservatives on tv are honest about what's happening, it only applies to impeachment.

Are Meghan's false eyelashes too short for her eyes, or are they just applied incorrectly?  They're very distracting.

Oh, Gretta's dog!  I had a hard time telling where it's face was, at first.  All that hair!  Gretta was so lucky she just happened to decide to have a double mastectomy.

lol if that were the case I would have just not taken it for sure. But since it was Rachel's book I definitely took it.

It was definitely a pro-Rachel audience. When she came out to take her seat, the audience went nuts. And when Meghan was referring to her time on Fox, the guy in front of me made a disapproving noise. Meghan said "I don't know what that was about" (or something like that) in response. Not sure if the noise was heard on air or not.

One more silly note - There is a comedian that warms up the audience before the show and during every break. She asks each person where they are from, acknowledges special occasions, etc. A woman in the audience said she wanted to be a Whoopi impersonator. Whoopi told her that sometimes that can be tough. Sometimes she doesn't like the reactions she gets being her so try something else... like growing weed. It would be easier and much more lucrative. 😁

Yesterday when they talked about the white female cop, I understood what Joy was asking.  Yes, of course Whoopi shut it down. If you want to hear someone break it down to what a lot are feeling? I suggest watching Trevor Noah on Thursday's Daily show. It really is perfection.
