Aviva was probably afraid to fly out there and didn't want to admit it because we've been treated to her whole phony leg loss redemption arc.

 

I think that once again Aviva didn't want to fly without Reid.  That was the whole bone of contention in St. Barth's when Reid was allowed to travel with her while none of the other husbands were invited.  It's also a point Ramona tried to drive home over and over; that Aviva wasn't just afraid to fly, she was afraid to fly without Reid.

 

I don't think production would be that blatantly cruel to mock a disabled person, but obviously YMMV.  It was a long flight and I think someone was just trying to be thoughtful.

 

 

Is it possible that the airport provided a wheelchair once they were told that an amputee would be traveling that day?  Maybe they made arrangements to have it there just in case Aviva chose to use it.

I'm curious as to why these two things wouldn't be considered who Heather "really is". As I understand, she has been married to a Jewish man for a decade and is raising Jewish children, and has worked in and around the hip hop industry for even longer. At what point can you authentically claim something as part of your identity? Or is she forever small town girl from upstate New York and can only identify with that part of her life?

She can be whoever she wishes to be. But I think there's a little bit more to the hip-hop life than saying 'bitches' a lot. And I think there's more to Judaism than parroting a couple of Yiddish phrases. Working with hip-hop artists does not, in my opinion, turn her into a gangsta any more than working as a photographer would turn her into a supermodel. I guess one of the things that annoys me about her is that I constantly pick up a phoniness in just about every thing she does. I loved her house in the Berkshires. She's certainly one of the more grounded Ho'Wives. I ought to really like her. But I don't.

Actually it isn't Paws Up - I have a friend that worked there for several years for a hr or 2/wk during the summer but now they are at this resort.....can't remember the name. (Great job promoting the resort and Montana Andy!)

 

Anyway I have seen Paws Up and loved it but hear this resort is even better, if possible.

 

There is another private resort where Princes' William and Harry stayed a year or so after loosing Princess Diana. Many celebrities have spreads in Montana that are wealthier than any or these gals or even all put together...like Letterman, Ted Turner, Brokaw, and on and on.

I think the resort they went to is called Paw's Up (http://www.pawsup.com/) We did a cross country trip with our 14 year old daughter and Labrador retriever about 6 years ago and spent several days there. It's a beautiful place. The food is amazing, the accommodations incredible, and there are a wide range of things to do. We initially hoped to stay in their "tent city", a group of luxury tents but couldn't stay there with our dog so we had one of the beautiful dog-friendly cabins. BUT, I can't imagine going there for a girl's trip. It's pretty much a family or couple type place.

These stupid trips for no reason are frustrating. I loved this show, it's the only one I still watch religiously, but they have gotten so far away from the original premise that I'm basically watching only out of loyalty. I want to see NEW YORK. Sonja and Ramona are like cartoon characters. Is the fact that Andy is no longer at Bravo the reason they seem to have lost their way?

Andy claims he still hires and fires the RH and has a hand in production.  I think Andy has lost his way and thinks what the viewers want to see is women like Heather and Carole and now Kristen come on and beat down the eccentric Sonja and Ramona.  That has always been LuAnn's territory to hold court over everyone else's "manners".  Andy also liked George and I think that was a huge miscalculation on his part.

Zoeysmom, I completely agree with you that the retooling and editing has not worked.  The ratings are dismal and that is depressing, since this has always been my first love of the HW's shows.

 

I actually think that the problem is that it is too real (minus George). I completely get the way the gals have reacted at various times. I get why Kristen was pissed that someone threw a glass at her face. I get why Lu is pissed at Sonja for being OK with someone gossiping about her right in her home. I get why Carole would be furious with someone who would question her professional credentials, and I certainly understand why all the gals would be irritated with Ramona's constant bitching about the Berkshires and the manipulative way she made her escape. That is the problem for me. It is all too pedestrian - too regular for me. 

 

I loved this show in the beginning because it was so unreal to me. Much has already been discussed about the way Ramona reacted to Alex bringing Simon to a "girls" dinner in the first season, but honestly, I had never seen anything like that before. I was transfixed that anyone would behave in such an openly rude and hostile manner when cameras were filming them. Lu scolding Beth for not introducing her as The Countess to the Limo driver, and Jill stomping out of a fashion show because she didn't like where she was seated. Ramona making a big fucking deal out of someone not having her drink of choice at a party. The whole Scary Island deal. I had never met people who acted like this, talked like this, or had these particular priorities.  For me, the unreality of the way they lived was what made it must see TV for me. The stuff that is going on now, I can go to Bunco and hear similar bitching and moaning from the gals in my neighborhood about their friends, co-workers and husbands.  I want to see something very different on my TV.

I thought there would be more footage of Mario and Ramona interacting. I assumed they were reediting their foreshadowing cheating footage but we're already 15 (!) episodes in and it's been minimal.

 

The issue for me is that the show rarely features the women doing anything remotely related to their real day to day lives. Everything just seems like a manufactured setup.

 

I felt like last season Aviva's meltdowns were genuine. Now when I watched the scene with the inhaler it was like she was playing to the camera since that's what got her the most attention. Every Carole scene is like a skit from "Sex in the City." After a strong start with Jax, they don't feature Heather with her family or business anymore. Kristen is not someone I like. So it's hard for me to care about her complaints about the life she has. You married Josh and had kids with him. Neither of them seem to enjoy being married or parenting their children. So why did you do it?

 

After all that yelling, I still think Sonja slept with Russ. Every season various housewives have exposed LuAnn's sexual shenanigans. She should be used to it by now.

As someone who has been dealing with REAL asthma since teenagehood, Aviva was inhaling incorrectly. Also, my doctor has never forbidden me to visit an entire state. Also, inhalers are to be used at specific intervals throughout the day, not when you're showing off for TV. So Aviva is full of shit.

I give Heather a pass on making fun of the wheelchair and Aviva in general because Aviva has such a history of lying and making up bullshit maladies to get out of whatever she doesn't want to do. Didn't she grow up in upstate farm country? Suddenly the sight of a cow might kill her? If a normal person said "I can't go on the trip, I have asthma and don't want it to get worse" another normal person would say "Oh my gosh, of course, you stay home and feel better." But since it's Needy Aviva, everyone rolls their eyes and makes snarky comments because here we go again.

I give Heather a pass mostly because I had the same reaction based on hearing about Aviva's bullshit asthma that I thought the wheelchair was Aviva being hyperbolic about her debilitating asthma. Had she never mentioned the asthma, my mind might have considered how uncomfortable it might be to travel with her prosthesis.

I think Bravo might have deactivated the comments on the cast blogs.

For some reason you cannot see the comments on any of the blogs.  This happened earlier in the year when there were retooling the blogs. I cannot believe that in 2014, Bravo still has so many issues with something that is now pretty much routine on any other site. Don't even get me started on the way they decide what will/won't make it to the forum. If there are specific rules, just tell us what they are and quit fucking with the fans of your show.

Just to (hopefully) see the signage of the resort. Plus I can't agree more the gift shop and lobby is fabulous at Paws Up - as is everything.

 

I'll get back one way or the other if I am still coherent....as someone above posted - it is very difficult to watch this crap again.  : -) Sigh - they don't even arrive until 35-40 minutes into the show and I am on On Demand rather that recorded.

I do believe this is based on ratings and it certainly does not make things look good for RHONY.  I was surprised to find I actually enjoyed People's Couch when it was 1/2 hour, but I agree an hour is a bit much. However, the fact that they made it a full hour proves it was getting good ratings. 

Clearly NY is not.

So the idea at programming in Bravo is you take a show that has horrible ratings bump a show that is struggling to see if you can save the horrible show and sacrifice the struggling show.  On what planet does this make sense?

Is Bravo trying to punish RHONYC to keep a salary cap on these ladies?  If salaries are tied to success and longevity it seems these ladies will be going backwards in salary demands.

think the mocking of Aviva in this case had to do with the fact that they really don't believe her much about the Asthma. She is suddenly struggling to breathe, which may or may not be true, but because of the way she has acted in the past, something smells funny.

 

The thing is, asthma is extremely serious.  If Veevs really is making it up, she's totally fuckin' crazy.  And what is it with these women & throwing things at Kristen?  If she threw her fake-ass drugs at me, I'd throw 'em right back at that one-legged nasty piece of shit.

 

Look, it's not exactly difficult to figure out why the ratings are so awful.  It was going downhill, but George & Aviva have absolutely murdered this show.  George's misogynist garbage turned a shit-ton of people off.  Andy Cohen couldn't tell what a turn off his crap was.  He thought it was hilarious.  

 

OK, so George is gone & supposedly won't be back.  BFD!  Aviva is still there.  And there's absolutely nothing to like about this woman.  She's a nasty unpleasant asshole to everyone around her.  There's no fucking reason anyone would wanna watch her.  OK, so she's gonna be gone for the next few eps.  Doesn't matter.  The damage is done.  The ratings are gonna continue to plummet.  Interesting how deluded & delusional Andy is about the deep trouble this show is in now.

 

The programming move to change the time was a sure ratings killer.  And the fact that they don't show previous eps before the show is killing the ratings too.  Andy's replacement is doing a very, very, very poor job in supporting this show.

He said he wouldn't be with Sonja cuz he loved Carole & would definitely not do anything to hurt her.  What a sweet thing to say.  And I think genuine.  The little we saw of Russ, I liked.  He seemed like a very nice guy.  And not at all the type to sleep with an acquaintance/co-worker of his girlfriend.  Sonja was nasty as fuck to make up that lie & feed it to the facialist (which she had to have done).

My 3 pack Target Hanes high cut briefs are what set my day off right!  Ya know all about that Sonja.  Walk woofLablover, do wash, iron, come here.  But when I want to be a ho I sure can be.  And I find my ho stuff just fine by myself!  Just not while cleaning out the fridge in Montana, or any cleaning out the fridge.  That's so 80s.  

 

When is the class action suit coming?  Sonja, Bravo vs. All the young men she harrasses.  That poor guy in the kitchen having to hear Sonja tell him she doesn't have underwear on so stand over there.  Mr.LabLover27 will represent those young men, including the interns.  I smell the next Trial of the Century.

After the dinner conversation I now have no idea what Sonja is up to. Carol denied the whole thing and then I thought Sonja agreed and said she and Russ were never in LA at the same time. So it's not true and Sonja just say there smiling coyly instead of denying it? Plus Carol didn't seem bothered by it or Sonja at all. And what was up with Kristen brushing the whole thing off as funny when she busted her ass to get to Carol and Luanne so she could spill the beans. Honestly, Luanne being visibly upset was the most normal reaction of all of them.

The gossip the facialist relayed could have just been simple assumptions she and her co-workers made after watching an episode of this show and then getting caught up in talking among themselves about their famous clients.  Listening to LuAnn instruct the short French pirate about how they were going to get together later on that night could sound to some viewers like LuAnn is assertive and maybe likes to dominate in the bedroom.  And while the facialist discussed Russ and Sonja, Bravo showed a clip of Sonja looking almost shy and very attracted to Russ when they first met, and, since Sonja is flirtatious and discusses one-night stands, some gossip-prone viewers may have assumed she hit on Russ later on.  So, while being gossiped about would be uncomfortable and offensive under normal circumstances, I don't really understand LuAnn's indignation here, since these conclusions could have been drawn from the wives' antics on the show.  Obviously, gossip is more likely to occur when you allow cameras to follow you around in your personal life.  At least LuAnn had the opportunity to deny the accusations on camera.

Sheesh, Aviva's Bravo blog is truly bizarre.  The woman never ever acknowledges her own horrible behavior & general nastiness.  How can she call anyone else nasty when that's the ONLY way we've seen her act -- at least when she isn't being phony nice.  She talks about what she calls "STFUgate".  I completely don't understand what she says.  Um, she seems to think it was Kristen's fault she screamed STFU in front of small children?  What a deranged, deluded lunatic!  Oh & Kristen somehow forced her to act this way?  Er, huh?  Did she learn this senseless logic in Vassar or in her useless law school days?

 

I should have loved that she refers to Josh the Dickhead as Kristen's "Neanderthal husband".  But I don't.  It's merely another example of her extreme & non-stop utter nastiness.  This woman just never stops being evil & horrible.  Her poor, poor, poor children.  Something has gotta be wrong with Reid to be with such an awful person.

Ah, but it was super important for Veevs to manipulate that phony conversation so Reid would say she couldn't possibly go on that trip.  Cuz she had to convince the producers she couldn't go.  I did like how she used the inhaler -- what?  Like 50 times?  And all of a sudden she was breathing hard -- kinda like Fred Sanford having one of his fake heart attacks.  Awesome acting, Veevs!  Maybe ya shoulda learned how to use an inhaler correctly, if you're gonna try to convince us bout the asthma.  Were the producers convinced she wasn't faking this shit?  Hmmmm.

 

OK, so who does Veevs think put the wheelchair out there?  Is she accusing any of the other women?  Cuz it would make absolutely no sense for ANY of them to do such a thing.  Or is this an out-and-out dig right smack at the producers?  So she's baiting her bosses?  Really?  She's pretty much mocking them right back & basically telling 'em to fuck off.  At this point, I'm baffled why Andy Cohen & the other producers haven't fired her ass.  As we've seen with Jillzy, Andy does not like to be dictated to, manipulated or made a fool of.  Me thinks Veevs has cooked herself with this stunt (her last line in her Bravo blog, that is).  YAY!

Not true. If Ramona and that is a big if, has generalized anxiety disorder with panic attacks she could be prescribed valium daily and Xanax for panic attacks or break through anxiety. Valium is a long acting benzo that won't help in an acute attack as well a short acting benzo like Xanax.

 

I agree with all of this.  I don't see anything wrong with Josh going to the Hamptons.  Kristen was going to be away, so he decided to do the same.  It's not as though the children were being abandoned and it's not as though it was his fault the family wasn't going to be together.  I thought it was pretty clear that he was going to be with the kids most of the time and that they were also going to be with their grandparents for a few days.  Maybe they spend every Labor Day Weekend with their grandparents since it's right before school starts.  Either way, I don't have a problem with any of this at all.

 

 I also don't think of the Hamptons as a place a married man goes to run loose.  It's really more for rest & relaxation, a change of scene, and maybe partying with friends.  I've been there many times and spent several full summers there, and I just don't see it as a place that men go to cheat or play in ways they shouldn't. That's really not the vibe there at all.  And if he was going to do frat boy, single guy stuff, he'd have a much better time and better luck as well if he stayed in the city.  I just can't jump on the anti-Josh bandwagon.  I haven't seen anything that makes me think he's so awful.  He's away from home a lot because of his job.  I don't think that means he's not interested in his kids.  Kristen has been away from home for lunches, dinners, and vacations for her "job" too.  Why is she off the hook and he's not?  She's pretty long-suffering, IMO, for someone who gets so many breaks and adult time, not to mention the full-time help she has caring for the kids.  I've never see a mom so awkward with her own children, so I give her no Mother of the Year award.  She loves to complain, and I don't understand why she's not doing more with her life if raising children doesn't make her feel fulfilled.  She's in the enviable position of being able to walk out the door to take some classes, do volunteer work, or pretty much anything she wants at any time without having to worry about childcare or money.

 

And re valium and xanax;  I actually have prescriptions for both, and have for years.  Prescribed by the same doctor and used for different purposes.  I actually have standing prescriptions for several things that should not be taken together.  But I know what to take under what circumstances, and it's never been a problem.  So I think it's perfectly possible that Ramona is legitimately taking both xanax and valium.  Many people do.

Wowza, Sonja has really shown herself to be quite cruel.  I didn't care for her lack of sympathy on the spreading of vicious lies about a supposed friend.  I heard what Alex had to say about it.  She said Luann's anger means there's likely some truth to the gossip.  I don't agree with her.  Alex is just so fuckin' annoying.  She's hardly an expert on this show & her opinions are biased cuz she hates Lu & loves the Moaner, so I don't care all that much what she has to say.  

 

Lu was annoyed with the crap being said about her cuz it was nasty.  Whether there was even a tiny part that was true is irrelevant.  I completely agreed with what Lu said.  If I heard a facialist saying malicious gossip about a friend, I would tell that person to leave immediately.  Sonja's reaction to laugh about it & say it was no big deal was very strange.  And she thinks her behavior is just fine & dandy on her Bravo blog & she says some pretty nasty shit about Lu.  OK, first she says the stupid lie about diddling around with Russ in LA -- for the sole purpose of giving a kick in the face to Carole & now she's giving non-stop digs to Luann.  What's up with this?

Ah but you can. Her BFF, the skank, has taught her well. You can win screen time, which I am convinced Kristen is obsessed with.  I am completely over her. They really should get rid of Kristen. The overdone facial expressions are making my face hurt. Does a day go by that this chick isn't utterly shocked by someone?

 

I agree.  She inserts herself into everything with her constant outrage, shock, and disbelief.  The word "overdone" is perfect.  It's her "thing" to the point that it's meaningless.  The never-ending O-face, wide eyes, and "Who DOES that????!!!!!" got old for me very, very fast.  She adds absolutely nothing except shit-stirring, but it's over every little thing so it's not ever fun.

 

It amazes me that they chose someone who's so bland & uninteresting to be on this show.  Yes, I know she's Brandi's friend (a negative if ever there was one!), but I'm really surprised that she has so little personality and she brings nothing at all, other than running to the others & tattling like she's on a school playground or working hard to put herself in the center of arguments and drama.  I also don't see the pretty at all, so her tagline irritates the hell out of me every time I hear it.

Wowza, Sonja has really shown herself to be quite cruel.  I didn't care for her lack of sympathy on the spreading of vicious lies about a supposed friend.  I heard what Alex had to say about it.  She said Luann's anger means there's likely some truth to the gossip.  I don't agree with her.  Alex is just so fuckin' annoying.  She's hardly an expert on this show & her opinions are biased cuz she hates Lu & loves the Moaner, so I don't care all that much what she has to say.

All of this about Sonja. She is just nasty IMO. Of course there is all of the stuff about her lawsuit, which shows her to be awful.  Someone on TWoP had posted an interesting article/interview by the attorney who represented the studio. I cannot find it now. Scoobie, did you post that over there? It was really good and went into great detail about just exactly what she did, which I never understood up until that point. It really shows just how entitled Sonja is, which in itself is no big surprise. I was just stunned by the level of her entitlement.  I came to hate her last year during the whole toaster oven deal with Heather. She was so ungrateful during that entire deal, acting like she was owed something by all of these talented professionals. It would have been one thing if she had watched the footage and come to the reunion a bit shamed by it all, but she didn't. She whipped out that logo that she had brought on the set and had behind her back, something that someone on the internet had mocked up for her. She said something like "why couldn't you give me something like this"?  Making people she is not paying wait around for two hours while she is apparently busy doing something else, then when she gets there she needs her intern to help her change her maxi-pad. Just nasty all around. 

 

I can see why Sonja and Ramona are friends. They remind me so much of the dynamic with Tamra and Vicks on the OC show. They are kind of "misery loves company" kind of gals. They feed off of each other when the other is being mean and nasty. It makes them feel comfortable and the other takes on their negative energy and it multiplies. When they are around folks that are having fun and getting along, they don't really know who to react. When they see people not getting along or being dramatic, they sit back and watch, kind of enjoying the fact that others are having issues. When others are having fun and getting along, making the best of things, this is when they feel the need to be more unhappy. Have we seen Ramona act joyful or happy to be part of the action on any occasion this year? Every time she walks into any gathering she acts pissy. Every. Single. Fucking. Time. I know others have said that issues with her husband might have been weighing her down during this time, but she doesn't get a pass from me on this. If I start giving her a pass because of issues that may have been going on in her private life at the time, I would have to do  the same with all the gals. We never know what might really be going on behind the scenes with any of these ladies. I can only judge by what I see on the show, and from what I see on this show, Ramona is one miserable bitch and would be happier if those around her were just as unhappy.

He may be a cheater.  I don't have any idea.  My point, though, was that he doesn't need to go to the Hamptons to do that.  There's plenty of opportunity - more, IMO - right in NYC.  If he has some little chickie on the side, staying right where he is while his wife & kids are away would be the best thing to do.  And if he's looking for someone new, he's better off staying put too since people in the Hamptons tend to know each other and he'd be less likely to get away with it.   "Chasing chicks", in my experience, is not more prevalent in the Hamptons than anywhere else.  The reputation of the Hamptons is pretty over-exaggerated in that regard.  My guess is that he wants to go for the same reason most city people go - to get away for some R&R.

Yes, I'm sure once he hits the beach with a drink in hand he'll be able to turn off his phone and "relax". Selfish prick couldn't ignore his phone for 5 solid minutes to interact with his daughter during her therapy.  He reminds me of my BIL a bit.  He's oh-SO-BIZZZZY every waking moment and he's constantly.texting, responding to calls & emails. However this is only when he's around my sister and their kids or our side of the family. He's all Mr. Laid Back when he's with his family/friends,  The phone rarely comes out of his pocket. It's rude.  It would be slightly less rude if he just came out and said the words "I don't like any of your friends or family.  I have no interest in you or the kids unless we're doing what I want to do."

 

Josh appears to be someone who wants to live 3 lives; the perfect American family w/ Model wife + Son + Daughter, the super successful self-made business man & the frat party dude. I guess it's possible to truly have a balance of all 3, but trouble is the show has only given us glimpses of JoshLives 2 & 3.

I think you hit the nail on the jug head that is Josh.  I suppose he could, in his off Bravo filming hours, be a doting dad but I haven't seen it yet.  Even if he isn't that involved - many men aren't/weren't, especially in 1955, but he's just so damned vocal about how he doesn't have the time or the desire to spend any time with his kids. It's so awful.

 

That said, Kristen doesn't help the situation by constantly nagging.  She married it and reproduced with it. Pull up your Raising the Kids by Yourself panties and deal.

I  have watched the show and Luann's extracurricular behavior has been out there for awhile.  During the first season Reunion Ramona brought up Luann's antics that were in the press-I believe it was dancing and grabbing a guy's crotch, her open marriage.  Second season Luann irked the other women because she pretended she and the Count were married and she had been kicked to the curb. Is Luann's ire over Jacques being called short?  Because he is French and she did run around with him.  She also banged the French pirate-gossip courtesy of Carole and Heather.   Did Luann tell the people gossiping about Sonja's act to leave immediately?  No. 

 

As far as Alex's expertise she was on the show for four seasons and remains in contact with some of the cast.  So yes I would consider Alex an expert on the show and her views on Luann's behavior.  Luann did turn red when Ramona hurled the gossip her way and it was true.  Just the same as Jill and Bethenny.

 

Luann has no storyline other than to be over the top offended at others' (Ramona and Sonja specifically) actions and she is very good at it.  She is majorly sucking up to Carole and Heather because she thinks that is where her future on the show lies.  Luann sure didn't mind Heather screaming Motherfucker in her home or ask her to leave.

She can be whoever she wishes to be. But I think there's a little bit more to the hip-hop life than saying 'bitches' a lot. And I think there's more to Judaism than parroting a couple of Yiddish phrases. Working with hip-hop artists does not, in my opinion, turn her into a gangsta any more than working as a photographer would turn her into a supermodel. I guess one of the things that annoys me about her is that I constantly pick up a phoniness in just about every thing she does. I loved her house in the Berkshires. She's certainly one of the more grounded Ho'Wives. I ought to really like her. But I don't.

 

I don't know, I guess I just don't see the phoniness, I see her use of "bitches" and Yiddish phrases as being a natural by product of the experiences of her life. Working as a photographer would not turn one into a supermodel, but it would make you more familiar with the language of photography and more likely to use this is in your daily life.  Which is what I see happening with Heather.

 

Although, I do have a bit of an issue with "bitches" being characterized as "hip hop" language, which to me has some racial undertones that I am not really comfortable with but I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt.  However, I do think "bitches" is pretty common run of the mill American language.  Or at least it is in my world, bitches.

100% agree.  He strikes me as one of those people who likes the "idea" of being a father.  But the day in-day out responsibilities?  Not so much.  But he was getting to a "certain age" and felt like it was now or never.  

 

If he's behaving like this when the cameras are rolling --- when one would think he'd be on his best behavior -- I'd be afraid to see how much of a douche canoe he is when they are NOT.
