Fredrik knew that closet was shit, right? For $6M, I damned sure would expect a completed organizer. The space itself wasn't even that big once you factor in the racks, drawers, shelves, etc.

As always, I'm  sad that the show is over next week. Do we think Luis is going to propose?

I am shocked that Luis would want to work with Ian Reisner again. Reisner was very rude to Luis. He was on the show a few years ago & was very rude to Luis. He made several sexually inappropriate comments & kept calling him Ricky Ricardo. He was doing that again last night.

I found them to be annoying.  They already dropped their budget from $4 million to $3 million, but then wouldn't budge off of $2.7 million for that apartment - which wasn't in need of that much repair, IMO.  They were just being super picky.  They wanted the seller to come down just because there were some things that weren't to their taste.  Move on if you find that much fault with a place.  That bugged me!

I agree.  I couldn't believe that was a closet!  It looked like a mud room where you just stop to hang up your stuff and park your shoes!  I know that it irritated Fredrik that Tyler was being so critical of the apartment, but c'mon Fredrik, that's part of the buying process.  It's not as if he hasn't heard a buyer verbally rip apart a property that he's shown before.  A buyer has to think through how they're going to use the space.  I love Fredrik, but he was rude in that instance.

Yeah, that guy is a perv.  He looked like he was sizing up both Ryan & Luis.  It made me uncomfortable for them.

The Triple Mint name is such an odd choice for a real estate brokerage firm. Just hearing the name, you have no clue what the business might be.

Yes you have to know that many people associate double mint with gum, which has nothing to do with real estate. It's a strange name.

Yeah, it doesn't scream 'Real Estate!'  I'm guessing they meant 'mint' as in excellent, but whenever Tyler says the name, it is hard to understand what he's saying, especially when they're in a crowded space.

It's interesting to see the different ways the guys approach selling real estate.  Fredrik, Ryan & Luis are the epitome of professionalism to me.  Steve is a little too casual.  Tyler falls somewhere in the middle.  He's professional, but he's also really connected to his buyers and wants them to find the perfect property for them, even if it means seeing 100+ apartments!  I can appreciate that attitude.   I wish Fredrik hadn't brushed him & his buyer off like that.  With that kind of money to spend, surely Fredrik could've thought of another one of his listings that might've been right for that buyer.

My guess is that since Tyler doesn't handle the higher end properties, that Fredrik figured the buyer was a tire kicker.   I'm guessing that one of Fredrik's regular buyers wouldn't blink at building out that closet.    That closet screamed for a rotating system, and shallow shelves for shoes and folded items on the far end, and the empty side.    Also, why would Tyler expect Fredrik to show the apartment, when there were tons of other agents at the party?

Because that was the first time they met and it was an "organic" way to introduce them to the filming ?

In Ryan's segment they show a clip from the video he made of that big apt.  Do they do that a lot in their marketing, make videos featuring themselves?

And do those videos actually work for bringing in rich sellers or is it more vanity, more for their "Instagram game" or whatever?

I think whatever happens in the future, Tyler did well for himself in terms of what was shown on screen.

He seems very likable and sincere if not as dramatic or amusing as Frederik or Ryan.

If I were a potential buyer in the NYC market, I would definitely consider him for my agent because I don't think you can fake the kind of sincerity he exhibits in terms of being on the side of his client. Of course, I CAN NOT STAND someone trying to sell me something as I immediately try to figure out what the angle is and how they are trying to snow me. The last time I bought a car I was so pleased to purchase it at a Lexus dealership that doesn't pay commissions to the sales staff so they have no incentive to try to push a sale on a person. It was the antithesis of the smarmy Honda dealership I visited right before which completely turned me off to purchasing a Honda - and I actually have LOVED the Honda I owned a few cars back :-).

Sounds like social media is the way to go when trying to reach international buyers.  Looks like they'll do any gimmick in order to get some attention, well, except for Steve.  He's much too buttoned up for that kind of behavior!

Who knows what the agreement was between Ryan and Luis about managing their co-listing, but Ryan wouldn't have had to leave so many messages if Luis hadn't inconsiderately ghosted him in the first place. Answer your damned texts and let Ryan know you're out of the country! Cheese. And then of course Luis blames Ryan for being too uptight.

Glad to see all the guys successful and happy in their personal lives. (Although a grain of salt with Luis and his roller coaster emotions.) Congrats to Ryan for his show-driven $13M listing. 

It will be fun to see Fred selling on both coasts.

I checked out the Triplemint website, and the $13 million listing is still for sale.  Tyler made a video for it.   I wonder how long it's actually been on the market.  I hope that he can sell it!

If he still owns his real estate company,  he'll be making money through his agents, like he did when he left the first time.  I'm going to miss Luis.

I was kind of surprised that Ryan gutted his new townhouse.  I thought that it looked good when he bought it.  I could see some minor renovations like countertops, etc., but a total gut job?  That's time-consuming and expensive!  He was so stressed out about the market all season, so I'm surprised that he put one more thing on his to-do list with a big renovation like that.

There is nothing in Tyler's segments, I'm afraid, that make me want to watch him.  Same with David Gold.  If you showed up to my home for a listing appointment dressed like you were about to take off for a ski weekend at Stowe, I'd close the door on you and call another broker.  To me, Fredrik and Ryan make this show, especially since Ryan has developed a real humor and some self-deprecation that I'm finding interesting.   Only goes to show some people can really grow on you.

Is Fredrik going to be on both shows, I wonder?  Or mainly NY with the occasional guest appearance on LA?

That was the stated business arrangement when he came back but I don't understand why she would continue to pay him 50% of what she makes many years later. Unless she is selling to someone who was his client, why would she pay him anything from completely new business she brings in.

Luis looks eternally surprised due to all the botox in his forehead.  I hope he is happy finally living with his baby and girl friend  in Puerto Rico.  

I like every one on this show except Gold.  He just seems slimy to me.  Don't see his relationship with the baby mama lasting.

Hope Frederik is on the LA version and shows up the Altman brothers.  I like Frederik and Ryan, with Frederik being my favorite on the NY franchise.

Saw that Josh Flagg posted that today was Grandma Edith's 100th birthday!

No way Tyler cold called and closed the listing deal right on camera.  Those sellers agreed for whatever reason to give Tyler’s company the listing and then agreed to be on camera, probably part of the marketing.

Frederick could probably lease a place in LA for his brother and family.  As for him showing the penthouse, the seller didn’t mind or else how was he able to get himself and that broker inside?

The end of season party is contrived so why not have Tyler there too?

Luis must want to get with the baby momma, to go down to Puerto Rico to be near the baby and the momma.  Wonder why he hasn’t closed the deal with her.  Would her family approve of the coparenting arrangement?  She doesn’t seem to mind being on TV, being filmed half naked when she delivered.  Maybe they will be together come next season and they will return to NY to film.

I'd wager that Luis has plenty of money saved up that would allow him to lay low for a few years and enjoy being a Dad.   However, I'm sure there'll come a time when he starts to get a little bored and will want to do something career-wise.  I hope that we'll see Luis again some day, or at least have Fredrik & Ryan mention him from time to time on the show.  

I hope that Ryan's townhouse is finished by next season.  I'm anxious to see how he remodels it.

I hope it doesn't look cold and sterile, much like some of the properties featured on this show! You're right though, it probably won't be much different from what we've seen.

My point was that celebrities (or TV personalities) go out of their way to give their kids absurd names...names no one else would even consider, so it shouldn't even be a topic of conversation.

I'm not a Steve Gold fan, but in defense of the name Rose Gold, it was his grandmother's name.  In Judaism, one is always named for someone else who passed away prior to their birth, so that their soul can live on through future generations.  

Rose was once a very common name that has gone out of style and come back in, like Grace.  My grandmother, too, was named Rose.

That being said, it would have been perfectly fine (and preferable, IMO), for Steve to have given the name Rose as a middle name, so that poor child isn't saddled with ridicule, which it will be.

Also....I'll sit alone at my table for one in that I love Tyler.  Not like, but love.

I find his authenticity, his openness, his vulnerability, just all so refreshing.  It can't be easy to show those prior pictures of himself 200 lbs. heavier, especially as a gay man in NYC, which can be brutal.  I love that he's willing to show not only his workouts, but his shoving a muffin in his face during stress, as that's part of the deal:  his go-to is food, and he's allowing us to see his weakness.

I also love that he's up-and-coming, like Ryan was when the show first started.  And he's not afraid to show the difficulty in securing these large listings, and in losing sales.

He was on WWHL, and a caller asked if the show has helped him get dates, and he smiled and said something cute like...."well it hasn't hurt....wink...;)"

I like the name Rose, but like you said, it might've been better as a middle name given her last name.  I really don't think that most kids will even bat an eye at the name though.  When she starts out in school, they'll just know her as Rose.

You're not alone!  I've enjoyed following his story.  I mentioned it back a few episodes ago that I hope that Ryan doesn't continue to be condescending to him.  I think that Ryan is just exerting his alpha male self in the real estate world, but as he learned in the first couple of seasons with Fredrik, there's plenty of room in the NYC real estate market for more than one successful Broker!  There's no need for him to be rude to Tyler.  I like this show better when the guys are getting along.  I know there will always be competition, but they can be civil to each other.

On the other hand, I find the situation with his child's mother or "co-parent" quite interesting. It seems Luis has been desperately trying to fill a void in his life for a long time, hence the moving to Europe and back. Doesn't surprise me he landed back in PR for the time being. Methinks that Leela will move around a lot as a child as her dad figures things out.

I am wondering if Luis has an arrangement with his child's mother where she was willing to have a baby with him because she wanted one as well. Wouldn't be the first to do so. I didn't get the impression that this was an "oops" baby at all. They've been very careful about the language they use about the baby and their relationship as "co-parents". Also interesting that the child's mother was in a place where she could pick up and move relatively quickly with Luis. Just screams "arrangement".

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Luis moved from PR to somewhere else in a year or two. I like Luis, but I think he's hurting inside. Hope he finds peace eventually.

I think the name Rose Gold is lovely, and don't see why Steve's daughter would get teased. As others have said, in this day and age when parents often go out of their way to give their kids unique names or odd spellings, it will likely be a pretty tame name in the scheme of things. 

While I would be very surprised if Luis is not back in New York in another year, I really hope he is not brought back on the show. I don't know how Ryan held his tongue when Luis explained that he did not answer Ryan's calls or texts because he was spending every minute with his daughter, How he could say that to someone who also has a baby daughter, but has managed to be professional and still take care of his clients, is beyond me. Also while I know Luis is not the first parent to claim that their child saved their life, it is a lot of responsibility to put on a child, and not something that I ever think is a good thing to say. 

I love Tyler as well. I find him to be very endearing, and love that he is so open about his past. Good on him, and I wish him all the success in the world. I look forward to seeing Tyler again next season, hopefully.

I'm not sure children will tease her but it's kind of like naming your child after a luxury brand. A bit classless and cheesy.

Ryan wasn't a potential buyer. Or a client.

I feel like I’m over this show. It’s always been fake but it’s just too fake now.

Luis having a baby is a mistake and I feel uncomfortable watching it. He needs actual help. He shouldn’t be putting all his happiness on a baby.
