Cole. I believe the last thing I posted in the forum was the excellent news that we are getting three more seasons of Wentworth. Season 7 has already been filmed and will screen in 2019, and seasons 8 and 9 will follow in 2020 and 2021. 4 Link to comment

zibnchy June 14, 2019 Share June 14, 2019 So I watched the first 3 episodes of the new season. Here's my 2 cents. There's a new psychologist. I think he's maybe supposed to be a new love interest for Vera. But he's bland and dull and possibly the dullest. Any scene with him in it is dull. Remember when Boomer was crazy, and intimidating, and interesting? Her big story line so far? Finding a male hooker to come to the prison to fuck Liz (for her bucket list.) It is as stupid as it sounds. Jake is trying to go straight and win back Vera and I almost like him. Almost. Remember Bea and Joan Ferguson and Frankie? Remember how awesome the stories were. Yeah, now we're stuck with Kaz and Rita and Ali. Ali is pointless. I wish she'd died before she had a chance to hook up with Bea. I love Rita but she needs a storyline. And Kaz is OK but she was only ever a Bea Smith wannabee. Now she's just acting all schmoopy because Will Jackson likes Marie better. OMG! And Frankie, amazing Frankie. This show misses Frankie the most. I'm not sure it can survive the loss. 6 Link to comment
Valny June 16, 2019 Share June 16, 2019 Got to see the first ep of Season 7. I just knew that Spoiler Rita's fiancé was gonna get killed at the end there. You could feel it coming. Quote Ali is pointless I still like her but they messed up her character and yeah, kind of pointless these days. The last time I thought she had something meaty to work with was season 5. Last season, not so much. Hoping for a better season for her but I'm not holding my breath. Question- so wait, I remember Allie broke up with what's her name around the last ep or so(didn't like those two together, blah) and now Spoiler she's with Marie? Seems like I missed something somewhere. This show will never be as great as the first 4 seasons(I'll give you S5 too because I did enjoy that one) but I will still watch because it's still "enjoyable" enough to me. I am holding on to my hopes that Liz and Boomer will be here until the series is over, because if they're not, then the shreds of the remaining cast will be gone and I will be very unhappy. 5 Link to comment
crazychicken June 19, 2019 Share June 19, 2019 I am still up in the air about the ending, I am looking to forward to see what changes it brings about but a little disappointed to see how the ending played out. For those that have seen episode 4 here is a article about it. Spoiler https://www.foxtel.com.au/whats-on/foxtel-insider/foxtel/tammy-macintosh-on-kazs-shocking-episode.html Link to comment
zibnchy June 19, 2019 Share June 19, 2019 I think the best thing about the ending of Episode 4 is that I did not see it coming. At all. This show can still surprise me! I was inches away from giving this show up. This is going to have massive ramifications. Hope the writers don't f it up. 5 Link to comment

Yes! It was really shocking, and best of all, we don't know whodunnit as there are a few possible suspects. I agree with some of your comments above, @zibnchy, about the new season. The biggest difference between this season and earlier seasons, I think, is that everything is so deadly serious now. I mean, there was always major serious stuff happening, but it was somewhat leavened by Boomer and Franky, and even the Freak at times. Lately we've had the occasional funny line from Boomer, but not much else. We need a balanced diet, please, writers! 1 Link to comment
Valny June 20, 2019 Share June 20, 2019 *Not looking at previous posts, can't look, can't look* We have a date when season 7 is coming to Netflix- July 31. I had read it would be sometime in August, but they moved it up a little soon since there's only 10 eps from what the article says. I think I will wait until July 31. Now if it was a couple of seasons back, I would have not been able to wait, I would have had to watch on line. It's still a really good show though, just not the same as the good old days. seasons 1- 4 were the best. But I did like 5. S6 was just ok. Link to comment
purist July 2, 2019 Share July 2, 2019 Our show won the 2019 Logie award for the Most Outstanding Drama on Sunday night. This is a peer-voted award, and the show was up against some stiff competition, so it's a great achievement. The Logies are sort of a cross between the People's Choice Awards and the Golden Globes. See if you can recognise everyone all glammed up! 6 Link to comment

Blue Plastic August 2, 2019 Share August 2, 2019 (edited) SPOILERS BELOW. Oh, disappointment! I know they never really confirmed the character was dead, but I thought maybe they were over it by now. Everything she did was OOT and then some. The actress is great and really sold it, but why do the good-ish characters all die and the bad ones just keep going like the Energizer bunny? Even if caught in an explosion or fire, they'll barely have a small burn on one pinky finger! That was really sad about Kaz. When she first came in I hated her, but she was kind of my "Bea Lite" substitute. I didn't see it coming but afterwards felt so stupid. She was pretty happy and had found out some secrets about Marie so of course she was about to die! Great to see Franky but too bad it couldn't be longer. I don't want the character to be in prison again but now all we have left of the season 1 prisoners is Boomer! What a horrible thing to happen to Liz. The idea of that has always terrified me. Chaos Theory August 4, 2019 Share August 4, 2019 (edited) Ok just blew though season 7 on Netflix and what the heck.....in a good way Besides the obvious Joan Fergusson sighing which mostly is meant to effect next season more then this one. I have a bunch of stuff to say. I love this show because it isn't afraid to kill of major characters. Kaz's murder was quite shocking actually. That being said it did make sense because it move a bunch of other stories forward in some major ways. The top dog position is a dangerous one isn't it? How man of the top dogs over the last seven seasons are dead now? Meeting Boomer's mom really explained Boomer a whole lot. Wow that woman was a piece of work. I wasn't too upset to see her die. I WAS however upset when Boomer killed Liz. A kind gesture as it was. I cried a little at that scene. I really liked Rita and am wondering if the show is done with her. The cop who would be top dog would actually be an interesting storyline. I like her a lot more then I like her sister who is kinda just there. Damn Allie shooting Marie and killing Tom Brody. I am wondering how it will effect her next season. She has never really been a top dog but more a top dogs girl so seeing her have a new tougher rep might be interesting. Fun an exciting season. retrograde August 7, 2019 Share August 7, 2019 Wow. After a pretty underwhelming season, that was an awesome last two episodes (other than the very, very end). Can't believe Jackson is still a guard though! Is there a single guard left who hasn't done something deeply corrupt? 4 Link to comment
marriedaniac August 7, 2019 Share August 7, 2019 WOW, what a rollercaster of a finale! IrishPirate August 24, 2019 Share August 24, 2019 I've only finished the first season, but went looking for more information. I cannot figure out why Bea, who has yet to be tried and convicted for the attempt on her husband's life, is in general population of a prison. I understand the need for high security, but no way would she be housed in a prison at this point. This article I found describes Bea as "convicted," but it's wrong. http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20190219-wentworth-the-gripping-ground-breaking-australian-drama Also in the "No, that doesn't happen in real life" category: ---Bea having a contact visit with the husband she tried to kill; ---new inmates paraded through common rooms and groups of inmates before being assigned and escorted to their assigned cell; ---inmate phones with a longer than is safe metal cord; ---a skeleton crew of a staff; ---no visible evidence of programs besides work that maintains the institution; ---one season in, 10 episodes, not a religious service or chaplain or any volunteer in sight. One mention of "a chaplain" for Bea's distress. Bring on Season 2. 1 Link to comment
Rockfish August 28, 2019 Share August 28, 2019 Finished bingeing last night. Even though most of my favorite characters are no longer on, I loved it—flaws and all—it’s just such fun entertainment for me. I kept wanting to smack Will, though. As usual, he was a dummy. 4 Link to comment
Chaos Theory October 2, 2019 Share October 2, 2019 (edited) I like (and get annoyed with) this show because of the high turnover rate. It’s not going to keep a character that makes no sense to keep just because the audience likes. I really applaud the showor f brutality killing off some of the shows fan favorites and then writing a season of repercussions from that death. Liz and Boomer had a long and complicated history. It is partly on Liz that Boomer got an extended sentence so for Boomer to actually say she wished Liz was her mother and then mercy kill her is the kind of beautiful and heartbreaking story that this show sometimes does around the brutality. mjc570 June 4, 2020 Share June 4, 2020 I just started watching this on Netflix (US). I finished Season 1, just started S2 and like it very much. Although I have to admit I pretty much skipped through all the Debbie grief stuff. My question to you: I'm not sure I really want to watch all 7 seasons, so my plan was to watch S1, S2 and S7 - would that make sense? Would I be able to follow along? Or maybe I should just skip S5 or S6? Link to comment

It was really good and yet another great intense finale. Wentworth really knows how to do finales! Personally loved S4 even though it was super emotional, but still an amazing season. I really liked S5 too. Probably my least fave is S6 but that's just me. But S7 got me back on the love train again. Just curious, why are you not sure you want to watch all seven seasons? Is it too emotional? This show is high drama with tiny spots of humor thrown in but drama and emotional stuff is it's core....and I love it... but it might not be for everyone. Do you have some favorite characters mjc570? What did you think of the new warden in S2? Edited June 4, 2020 by Valny 2 Link to comment
