Kristen Taekman: At Least She's Pretty

She did acknowledge and thank people for their support in a tweet yesterday.  I think that's all she needs to say.

I think at some point she needs to have someone put together an articulate heartfelt statement of what her plans are. Whether she stays with the douche or moves on I think she will have support, I just don't think she can deliver as a RHONYC, unless of course Bethenny says so.

I agree.   She's probably still trying to process the whole fiasco.  Deciding to go or to stay is a major decision and it's really way too soon.  No one should make life altering decisions while they're still reeling from a blow like this one.

ETA:   Unless she's been considering leaving Josh for a while.  I didn't watch last season but I read that they were having issues.

I don't think she knows what her plans are.  And I totally get that.  I just think that well meaning people should just leave her alone as to what she should do.  Be supportive but don't put down her husband.  She doesn't need that right now.  Let them work, or not work, it out.

She really really does not.

Yeah your right I would like to see her fade into oblivion.  She was never terribly interesting to begin with and her big storyline was about fighting with her husband.  I guess we have seen and heard enough.

While it's very dumb, I think a lot of people thought Ashley Madison was investing money in top notch security, because the only real reason people would go to a site like that and not adultfriendfinder is that it promised complete discretion.  Plus they charged 20 dollars to delete your profile so he probably thought he was safe when he deleted his. Men can be complete idiots when it comes to sex. There is also a m4m section of Ashley Madision so some DL closeted men may have been on there, though a lot go the craigslist route for that sort of thing.

I don't think Josh wants anything that kinky necessarily, he just wanted discretion and probably assumed anyone he met on AM was married herself and wouldn't threaten to tell his wife (or demand money not to tell his wife), the way some random he met in a bar might. Dumbass.

My husband is what they call a white hat hacker - he breaks into websites for a living for a company.  They do it to make sure the bad guys cannot and yes he is like a little boy at Christmas every day at work it is disgusting LOL (who else gets paid to break things!).  He said that AM data and website was so bad that someone with very little training could do it.  Their security was pathetic.

I feel bad for Kristen she did not deserve this - or any of the spouses of people who go on the site.

If I am part of the 'we,' then I disagree.  I don't think we've seen or heard enough.  Unlike Sonja, Kristen was a part of a launch of two separate business endeavors that actually sold things last season - the nail polish and a jewelry collaboration.  She at least attempts to sell these products via the images she posts to her blogs.  We know her daughter got Early Invention, got the braces off, and is now actually running around -- but we got this in half a sentence.  We know her vow renewal happened and was (THANK GOODNESS) scrapped by the editors.  And she participated in every real RHONY social event and was sane (um, Sonja, Ramona, Dorinda, Bethenny) and not a drunk screaming sobbing mess.

I know reasonable minds can disagree but I think it's awful to be so harsh towards her when I think, at least, that we can all agree she must be terribly hurt and in shock through absolutely no fault of her own and she's never acted like she was perfect, or like women with unfaithful husbands 'earned' it -- this never happened.  Never.  I would argue Ramona did, with her eagerness to out the Count's affairs and LuAnn's allegedly open marriage, so she is on the Josh Duggar hypocrite spectrum as far as marital commentary goes.  This isn't from you ZM but it isn't 'ironic' for her to have the friction with (stupid-assed, insane) Dorinda over the 'sandwich' and John and have Josh serially betray her with the website -- that isn't even what irony means, but whatever.  And Kristen does not owe *anyone* *any* kind of public explanation for what she chooses to do/not do with respect to her marriage.  She just doesn't.

I'm not in the 'we' either. Kristen seems to have worked pretty hard lately, between getting her daughter proper care, launching her businesses, doing a bit of modeling, and being on the show. I wouldn't mind seeing her back next year. We might have the opportunity to see the reality that Sonja and Luann have worked hard to deny, in the loss of status and security in the wake of what might be a significant decline in fortune. She brings real fashion and beauty chops to the show. And the cast needs a few functioning nonhysterics, given that it already has to accommodate both Ramona and Bethenny. Of course if Heather goes and a divorced Kristen stays there will be no wives at all...

I kind of want Kristen to focus on herself and children. I wouldn't mind her staying on the show, either. I would also like Heather to be there. I always got the vibe that Heather just tolerated Kristen for Josh. It would be interesting to see how Heather reacts to this situation. Well, how both of them react to it.

But it also feels like none of my business.

I don't believe that this is factually accurate but AM would love it to be.  I do believe that there is emotional and/or physical adultery in every ZIP code in the US though.

I agree. I have a hard time believing anyone in my rural town of less than 300, Iowa has any Ashley Madison users. More than half of our population is elderly farm workers who barely know how to use a computer. But, unfortunately, betrayal itself is widespread.

I don't know that Kristen needs to make a public statement about any decision she makes concerning her marriage but, that said, if she comes back next season, she will have to address this on the show in some way. Even if it is nothing more than her acknowledging a rough time in her marriage and that they are working through it with 1 of the other HWs in a conversation on the show. I don't need any details but if she at least acknowledges it in some fashion, unlike Ramona did last season, she will gain fans/supporters IMO. She needs to acknowledge it more than Ramona (nothing) but far less than Shannon B (OC) (far too much information) and I do think that is possible.

Honestly, I question whether Josh brings all that much status or wealth to her life. They rent a pretty simple apartment. She has nice clothes but doesn't appear to be able to shop non-stop. It's not like they're living in the lap of luxury. If she does get divorced or separated, she'll get child support and alimony, but I do think she'd want to do the show again for the financial security of it.  And if she does, I think she'll address her marriage, in detail. They didn't really hide their problems in her first season on the show, and those seemed like really genuine problems and reactions, and not just for the camera.

I admit, I want her to leave him. I think it would be healthier for her in the long run and probably healthier for her children. I won't judge her if she doesn't, but if she comes back to the show, I expect her to talk about it. And let's face it, she won't be asked back if she's not willing to go there.

I don't believe it's accurate either.  Especially since articles like this one are drawing attention to the fact that not only were a majority of the "women's" profiles on AM proven to be 'bots - but that most the ones that were linked to actual women were created and then NEVER used again.

So, in short, I do not think Jackass Josh (or 99% of the men using Ashley Madison) was probably having actual, real-life affairs with women they met on this site. However, they could very well just be using AM as one facet of their secret lives, and very well be using other means to cheat.  Whether it be ads on Craigslist or trolling for women in bars or what have you.

That being said, I feel fairly confident that Josh is going to use articles like the above to his advantage and use it to prove to Kristen that he never actually cheated...  it was just a "fantasy" thing like porn or whatever.  And based on that, I have strong doubts she will leave him.

Yes, in general, she owes the public nothing. She can speak or not speak about it. If she comes back to the show, however, she won't be able to just pretend like nothing happened. She will have to open up about it to a certain extent.

The timing of it all completely sucks for her. They will be asking the girls they want back shortly (if they haven't already) and I would think that this whole deal has made her more attractive to Bravo. The AM scandal is the biggest thing going right now, and to have a member of the cast involved in something so timely would have to be very attractive to Andy and Bravo. At the same time, she probably doesn't even know if she is going to stay with him or kick his ass to the curb, so to have to commit to doing a show where you have to open up about all of this right in the middle of the heartache is a tough thing to imagine. She seems like a pretty smart cookie, and I think she has her priorities all lined up, so I think she will make the decision that is right for her.

I never defend Ramona but at the time of the Reunion she and Mario were together, so if Kristen is allowed the vague "working on our marriage" then the same should be true for Ramona.  Kristen's entire first season was primarily about how she was so unhappy and stressed out in her marriage.  Ramona and Mario never had the troubled marriage scenario.  So I don't know why all of a sudden she should be granted some special dispensation to keep hers on the down low.  This season she even had a vow renewal-although out there only in print.  She has brought her marriage front and center. Now Heather has not made an issue of her marriage other than  her Anniversary as a reason to exclude ornery Aviva. All we see is a nice couple.

I don't think Kristen has anything else but her marriage.  Her taking pictures of herself at "SATC" locales has been shown on the show.  Had Ramona stayed with Mario I am sure they would not have gotten her to open up about Mario's affair but that would not have precluded the other women from talking about it.  Luann and Jill had both made rumors of Mario's infidelity a thing of the past.

Kristen will have to acknowledge this on the show should she return but I don't think it has to be her main storyline unless that is what she wants. Yes, Ramona/Mario were still "together" last season but the rumors were rampant about Mario cheating and were reported in the press and blogs during filming for last season, so she was granted special leeway concerning her marriage. It was no secret to anyone on the show or that kept up with the news about the NY HWs, yet she was allowed to keep it off camera. Although I do think it is more likely than not that Josh cheated on Kristen, there is no evidence that he in fact cheated at all, the only facts right now are that he joined a cheaters website and participated in dialog with women (who we are now learning may have been nothing more than figments of the sites management and not real living women) and nothing more.

I don't think she has to go on and on about her marriage problems like Shannon and I hope Kristen has more common sense to not do that because in the long run, it does more damage to the kids and to the family unit if they stay together. I don't mind Kristen, I think she can be very funny and I think they need a quiet HW on each show to keep the shows balanced. I think most people, in real life, have that 1 quiet friend that is easy going 90% of the time and that is Kristen on the NY show IMO.

She's going to have to talk about it. I think what WW is saying is she can do it somewhere in the middle of the way Ramona and Shannon handled it. At the end of the day, Bravo will decide what is enough for them. It is interesting how in the span of a couple of days, she may have gone from someone that wasn't going to be asked back, to someone that they desperately want back. I awoke this morning to hearing Josh's name on CNN (along with the Duggar dude). She has gone from being the least talked about HW to the most talked about on social media. Suddenly, she might be in the drivers seat with regard to Bravo. Just like they were willing to break the rules about talking about your boyfriend for Beth because they wanted her so badly, they might let Kristen give them just enough to get the audience to tune in, but not too much. It's interesting, that's for sure.

I found this-Bravo will be airing a Special Edition of RHONYC and showing the 10th anniversary celebration:   http://www.eonline.com/news/690220/kristen-and-josh-taekman-celebrate-10th-wedding-anniversary-amid-ashley-madison-reveal-get-the-scoop

Ick.  Although I can't say I'm surprised that Bravo is going to air it in a "special" now.  But man, that just leaves such a bitter taste in my mouth.  Not sure if I'm going to tune in for that.

I was thinking to myself Bravo might trot out that footage to use next season as a way to introduce Kristin's "marital problems" storyline, but this is just gross.  The situation is probably still quite unstable imo, despite what Heather (I mean "a source") claims in that article.  What a shitty thing to do.

I wonder, will Andy just mock the whole situation, or feign deep compassion?  Hmm.

My prediction they will have Kristen sign a short term six week contract (as most of the women did last season) and at the end of the six weeks evaluate her as a full time or a part time RH.  I just don't see this being the thing to turn her around.  Kristen sort of shot herself in the foot last year when she said eight women were too many.  I know she claims to be a press virgin and it was a stupid thing to say, especially knowing how she had been marginalized by Bethenny.  Filming probably isn't for four or five months and it seems from the pulse on this thread, not many are interested in watching the making of the sausage, so to speak of the Taekman marriage AGAIN. (Shannon OC burn out).  I also wonder if Kristen leaves Josh would not be happier in Connecticut where she has family support?  She had some awfully cute pictures of her mother and daughter together. She really doesn't have huge employment opportunities in New York.

All bets are off for me and Bravo not really being all that interested if Kristen kicks Josh to the curb AND starts dating someone famous, OR announces she is a lesbian OR she or Josh gets charged with a crime.

I don't see the Taekman marriage being the big ratings booster. I do think it was a dangerous precedent that Bravo allowed Bethenny to withhold her love life from the show and all the while posing for bikini pictures with her studs in real life during filming.  Not to be unkind to Kristen she just doesn't have the wit or the presence of a Bethenny.  She is very easy on the eyes but there is not a lot of depth.

Compared to watching Ramona ogle her own boobs, the Taekman marriage doesn't sound too bad.

Do any of these women have anything new to offer? I suppose we can hope to plumb the truth depths of Dorinda's inexplicable fury, or hope to finally see the DressGate texts. And Sonja's Nigerian Footballer Fragrance, made from real Nigerian footballs!

Yeah, the timing of it is really where I do feel for her. I'm sure emotions are quite raw and not fully processed at this point, and then she more or less has to make a decision about her job based on it.

I also agree that she seems smarter than she's ever been given credit for. She's not as reality-TV-ready-made with the quips and comebacks the way a lot of the other women are, but I've never thought her actions to be out and out dumb. I think she's admittedly less savvy/calculated (take your pick of words here) than a lot of her co-stars but I don't find her to be unintelligent, just less cunning.

I agree she is not reality TV gold.  The worst moments are when it appears she has taken coaching from Brandi-Kristen just can't pull off asshole the way Brandi does.  I do believe Kristen is the only person to have at least three different RH walk out on her in mid whine/accusation or confrontation.  Last year Ramona left her at tea before the tea, which displeased Kristen, this year Bethenny just walked away leaving Kristen hanging without an explanation over the dumb comment, and Sonja pretty well blew her off over the toaster oven comment.  I think it is because Kristen is sincerely trying to get an explanation and a long one at that.  She has to stop trying to have conversations at events-I realize that the tea didn't go her way but she at least deserved some undivided attention.  I always feel like there is a producers standing there giving Kristen the sign to stretch the conversation-and she is the only one getting the signal.

Sad but true.  When Kristen really tries her best to seem angry/ intimidating, she starts throwing around "damned," the "damned nail polish" or the "damned bedroom," etc.  It always strikes me that she sounds like a church lady reaching for the worst word she knows.  It sounds so off and out of character.

I would think, for as timely as this all is with the AM hack, Kristen should have a chance to show her recovery, just as much as Bethenny and Ramona have.  Her situation is at least as bad as theirs had been and they were able to milk whole episodes on the topic.

Oh I don't mean to sound as if Kristen is the only one who does the event confrontation thing.  I just always feel like Kristen wants a real conversation and not just a sound bite.  She looks as if she has been robbed when someone tells her they don't want to talk or walks away.  It didn't help with Ramona after Ramona apologized (for whatever that is worth) she wanted to launch into the Ramona has a drinking problem spiel.  I think she wants to pull more out than the other is willing to give and gets frustrated and is edited to look like she gets left flat.  I think it goes against Kristen's grain to do the public confrontation.

The show was cancelled after the first season or in Bravo speak not picked up for a second season.  So no one came back.  I do think that Michelle woman was actually denied a spot of Celebrity Rehab for faking an addiction.

A lot of people are quoting times when Josh has said mean or hateful things to Kristen on screen.  I was wondering does anyone remember him ever having said anything positive about her?  I know this could be editing, but I do not remember one kind word about his wife.

I think Josh loved the idea of a beautiful model on his arm, but it never seemed that he respected her very much as a person.  I remember when they told the story about how Josh decided that they move from LA to NY and did not discuss anything with her.  I remember Heather (who I usually like) defending his actions as an "entrepreneur" mindset.  Bullshit...you do not make a major life change like that and not consult with your spouse.

If Kristen does come back and all of a sudden Josh is all lovey dovey on screen I think I am going to puke.

Rather, he was constantly exasperated with her for not making dinner, making dinner, getting takeout, staying at home, going to work, and asking him to come to their child's physical therapy once and awhile. He reluctantly used her as the face of EBOOST after initially telling her she was too old. He asked her trainer to help her "get rid of that pooch" right in front of her.

Editing is such a bitch. I'm sure they edited his hilarious 62-paid transaction joke account on Ashley Madison to make him look bad.

At Heather's anniversary party, Kris and Josh showed up and they were fighting. Kris said something to Heather like, "You're celebrating your anniversary and we're getting divorced." Anybody remember what they were arguing about at that time?

They were fighting because Josh was late and Kristen could not get a hold of him to find out how much longer to wait outside the party for him.

He really did treat her like a doormat, didn't he? I'm still trying to think of a time when he treated her with respect. He DID agree to go to counseling but even while there, he slouched down in the sofa, legs wide apart, acting like he wanted to be anywhere but there. Even back then I wanted to slap him upside his head and tell him to sit up like a grown man and pay attention. Now I just want to slap him.

No idea if this is true or not as there's a lot of "an insider says"-ing, but Ramona is quoted complimenting the Taekmans' vow renewals and especially Kristen's dress (apparently her original wedding dress). The real reason for the link is because a commenter points out Kristen should put her dress on lockdown since Ramona has noticed it, LOL.

I saw this information about the AM site and LOL! Maybe Josh (and many other men) just found his excuse.

- Gizmodo editor-in-chief Annalee Newitz ran a number of tests to discover 31 million of the accounts belonged to men while 5 million supposedly were linked to females. 10,000 of the accounts were created with the Ashleymadison.com e-mail, implying they were test subscriptions. 9,000 of them were linked to actual females.

-Newitz also stated "What I discovered was that the world of Ashley Madison was a far more dystopian place than anyone had realized. This isn’t a debauched wonderland of men cheating on their wives, it isn’t even a sadscape of 31 million men competing to attract those 5.5 million women in the database. Instead, it’s like a science fictional future where every woman on Earth is dead, and some Dilbert-like engineer has replaced them with badly-designed robots... When you look at the evidence, it’s hard to deny that the overwhelming majority of men using Ashley Madison weren’t having affairs. They were paying for a fantasy."

-"Overall, the picture is grim indeed," Newitz concluded. "Out of 5.5 million female accounts, roughly zero percent had ever shown any kind of activity at all, after the day they were created. Ashley Madison employees did a pretty decent job making their millions of women’s accounts look alive. They left the data in these inactive accounts visible to men, showing nicknames, pictures, sexy comments. But when it came to data that was only visible on to company admins, they got sloppy.... Either way, we’re left with data that suggests Ashley Madison is a site where tens of millions of men write mail, chat, and spend money for women who aren’t there."

Not that this mitigates anything Josh got up to…but it IS funny, thinking of him eagerly checking his empty mailbox and sending emails to bots. The chances of him meeting the kind of woman he was looking for was pretty much non-existent to begin with.

The more I read about AM, the more I think it was just a front for adult services. (Not that the customers knew that going in.)
