Yolanda Hadid: My Love, My Lemons, My Lyme Disease.

Thank you!  I also have chronic Lyme's and I've tried not to be too judgmental as everyone has an individual experience with this disease - some better than others.  But as others have opined, things just don't make sense and some of the stuff doesn't pass the smell test, for me, anyway.

I have tried to understand how a woman so debilitated by this disease that she was bedridden has the energy to do all of the things she's done on camera - travelling to several places, galloping a horse, entertaining, dancing around a firepit - I just don't get it.

For me, zoeysmom articulated a point that I couldn't - perhaps Yolanda suffers from impatience - the reality that this disease may require Yolanda to have to change some of her habits - and she doesn't want to accept that - so she chases after ever "cure" out there.  I'm not trying to be cruel, but perhaps some of Yolanda's dietary habits/cleanses/fasts triggers problems.  I wonder if she has resisted changing her nutrition routine.  Some fruits and vegetables cause inflammation and other problems and should be avoided - that type of thing.  Just my opinion, but Yolanda seems to have such a rigid belief system that acceptance that perhaps parts of her lifestyle need to change is her biggest problem.

About her brain fog - not buying that at all - someone with brain fog would not have said the things she did with such conviction last season.  Her interactions with Joyce and Lisa alone were proof enough for me.   Again, I agree with the thought that she wants to not be a part of the conversation regarding Brandi's behavior.

That said, I wish her well in her recovery.

I am sorry, but I has to ask why she is still on the show? Even if she has a current contract, her health issues, if real and as bad as she claims, would give her an out legally. She renewed her contract despite claims of being bed ridden, even though we all saw her out and about with normal appearing levels of energy, for 18 months. She says/claims 1 thing then shows herself doing the exact opposite!

@Aunt Kiki, I agree with you and I think you're on to something with Yolanda's diet.  She seems to live on very restricted calories, which is very stressful on a body.  Her lack of energy, confusion, and brain fog could be strictly related to starving her body.  Your brain needs sugar to function, as anyone who's ever experienced low blood sugar can attest to.  And the long term burden slow starvation takes on a body, will lower your immunity and very easily trigger a relapse.

RedHeadZombie, thanks for the additional information about the low blood sugar - I forgot about that.   Especially if she is continuing to work out with a trainer on a reduced excercise program  (see, this is where things don't make any sense for me).    I can only speak from my experience and let's put it this way - I had to give up some foods that I loved and add in foods that I disliked into my diet in order to reduce inflammation.  It sucked but I preferred to be able to function.

imjagain, I agree that Yo should leave the show for her health's sake and put her energies into her home and family.   The Bravo paycheck and Brandi Glanville just ain't worth it.

I have to agree.  It actually would give a potential "out" on both sides.  Why would The King even allow her to renew the contract if she was so ill?    To keep a sick woman busy?  *insert sarcasm*

This is why I have been so conflicted about her degree of illness.  It's no laughing matter, and I know she is not laughing, but she is really putting a confusing face on this illness and not a flattering one.  It definitely pisses me off.

Last week there was an article in the daily beast written by a doctor entitled " real housewife fake disease". I tried to link it but my iPad is not cooperating. Anyhoo this dr says Yo may have some chronic illness but it's not Lymes disease. I felt nervous even reading it, like our lady of the Lemons was going to find me and kick my ass.

I just read it and he gets blasted in the comment section as he predicted in his article. This is a Dr. that lives in an area of the country known for Lyme's Disease carrying ticks and as a Pediatrician, this is a disease he would be familiar with, Lyme's disease that is.

Other than his questing of her claim of "Chronic Lyme's Disease", his biggest concern was her pursuit of treatments all over the world and I agree with him.

For the same reason every last one of them is on the show.  Rhymes with Game Chores.

It could be argued that only Brandi and Kim really need to be on the show because they aren't otherwise gainfully employed nor married to men with bank.  Although, even those two could seek employment elsewhere.  Imo, it all comes down to the insatiable need to be looked at.

I agree that Yolanda should get off for health reasons, at least.  I've never felt so strongly that this is a Ho's last season.  Sadly, I don't have that inkling about Brandi or Kim.

I like that the Dr./author of that article attempted to reach Yo's people.

(Requests to Foster’s representatives for comment regarding her illness and therapies were not met by deadline.)

Yet I believe she is being taken for a very expensive ride, and one that nobody else should join her on.

Quick, somebody forward that article to My Love.

There is a blood test but it won't show if the condition is "chronic". It just shows exposure. I'm a nurse, I know many doctors don't believe in a chronic form of Lyme. That doesn't mean there isn't. Most of medicine is still a mystery and just because a doctor says there is no such syndrome, doesn't make it so. However, Yolanda seems to have symptoms when they are convenient. Never during filming. That seems strange to me.

thx! I kept asking a friend if she's been diagnosed by a test for Lyme because of her various symptoms and brain fog. I've never gotten an answer. Slippery like Yo.

I agree.  My GP didn't even believe that Lyme's existed 25 years ago until his wife contracted it and was very ill. Then he took it seriously.  It doesn't surprise me that there is still debate about whether the disease can become chronic.  I can only relate my own experience and something that a specialist told me - a no-nonsense doctor who treated me for sudden cysts that appeared in many parts of my body during my Lyme's treatment - that Lyme's was like a bad husband that would never leave, lol.

You hit it on the head with Yolanda.  Too convenient.

I like that he did that too.  I wonder if she has a primary doctor as the ringmaster organizing all these treatments.....probably not.

No surprise that he got blasted.  There is still lively debate with this disease.  I wonder how many were actual people who have had Lyme's or other tick-borne diseases and how many were loyal Yolanda fans.

I agree about Gigi - and she certainly does not have the typical model figure (though adding diversity of shapes is definitely a good thing). She's clearly there because marketers have realized that reality tv is reaching a lot of people and is a great way to scout. Kim Kardadhisn and Kendall Jenner also don't fit the traditional model mold but are having success as such. Curious to see who else comes up.

I don't understand what's the big deal about GiGi. She's pretty but I think she's a terrible model. Every picture I've seen, she does the "vacant stare/open mouthed pose". Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't get why she's an "It" girl.

I agree. Mostly in her work for Tom Ford and Guess.  She just signed with Maybelline so we'll be seeing TV ads and more of her personality.  I also imagine that the Maybelline print ads will have a lighter feel than Ford or Guess. She's still learning and she'll evolve.  Or she won't and that'll be the end of that.  But I think she will.

I see a long career for her UNLESS she continues to hang out with Miley Cyrus and then all bets are off.  I love her look.  She's still a little moon faced but if she keeps eating those 6 almonds combined with natural loss of baby fat and the magic of make-up contouring, she'll do just fine.

Two reasons Yolanda is on the show-she wanted to make $15 million of the sale of David's home in Malibu and she had two tall daughters who she wanted to become models.  This new modeltantes trend is something the Hadid girls are just fortunate to have been born under.  I will say I would rather see photos or even commercials of the Hadid girls than ever listen to another Gia Giudice video.

I always suspect that Yolanda is very hard on herself, or I should say, very demanding of herself.  She's hitting menopause and has Lyme disease, and I think it's the combination of both that makes her brain feel foggy, and that she has less energy.

She did have the blood tests, so it's confirmed disease, and IIRC, it was very strong in her blood, and still there after all the conventional AB treatments.

I'm torn.  Filming is an off and on thing, and she doesn't show up for everything, and she HAS said on the show that she's "foggy" at times.  I'm also torn on the alternative treatments.  It's not as if she didn't consult with, and do, everything the conventional doctors have told her to do.  Several times over the years.  With her money, I might be tempted to travel for other treatments too.

As far as My Love, she has good reason to go with him and keep tabs on him.  He's been married 4 times, and there are a bunch of rumors about him cheating on Yo.  He just strikes me as a guy who needs tons of attention and admiration, and if she's not there to lavish him with that, his eye will wander to wife number 5.  I don't see that as a secure marriage at all.  It's the saddest thing about Yo to me.

/Yo had some brain scans last year that showed low brain function.  I don't know what that is about, but it doesn't seem like you can fake a CAT scan or MRI.  Whether it's due to lyme or something else who knows.

Anwar is next in the modeling business I bet.  He is striking too.

I love that Bella and Gigi have hips and boobs.  But they need a Brawr.  tm Jill Zarin.

Is there a blood test or something that would confirm Lyme?

There are a whole battery of blood test that would confirm what Yo has.

Last 2 years I was chronically tired couldn't function. One blood test confirmed that I was iron deficient. Added iron pills to my everyday life and what a world of difference it has made. With Yo not eating I can imagine her blood sugar is too low, she doesn't have enough vitamins in her diet and her body could be pre-menopausal (it will kick you in the ass with similar symptoms.)

Bella has long looked like the child who was ignored, judging from her facial expressions. She's the second daughter, middle child, oldest sister is a successful model. Parents are too busy. I've seen it too many times.

Does Yolanda ever check herself??  Does she ever HEAR some of the things that come out of her mouth??  I mean, Yo never seems to shy away from reminding Bella at every opportunity that Bella "has always been so different" from she and Gigi, and that she "doesn't know where [bella] came from".  I couldn't believe my ears when I heard Yo say that a couple of eps back.  Way to make the kid feel special!

And am I the only one who is appalled by that hideous coral-and-lace sweater Yolanda is wearing in all her THs this season??  With all her resources, it's amazing to me that Yolanda consistently makes some really odd clothing choices.

The only time I've ever heard Yolanda disagree with King David was when he told her there's something to the middle child syndrome. She shut that down with the lemon quickness. Like it was not even a remote possibility that Bella was an ignored second class citizen who could never live up to the amazing blonde Gigi.

I think Yolanda had some work done.

ITA, her nose then is very different from her nose today!

Anwar looks a lot like his father. Mohamed was a good looking man in his younger days, now....not so much.

Another stunning home. I wonder what made her go with a more contemporary house this time, the Santa Barbra house was so different. Maybe David prefers it.

I did notice that when she and Mohamed got married her hair was darker blonde, not the platinum blonde we see her with now. I think she looked younger/prettier with the darker shade. JMO

It is pretty obvious that Yolanda is lying about having Lyme disease. This is really unfair to people who actually have it.

So I propose that we refer to her sickness as Lemon/Lyme disease. It's like the Un-cola of diseases.

I am not so sure she is lying about having Lyme's Disease but I do question the severity it in light of her words verses her actions and her age. I am concerned about all these different treatments across the globe she is chasing. That could do more harm than good if others start trying these unproven/untested treatments just because she does it. So far, nothing she has done has cured it for her and she is still chasing some blurry shadows and promoting it via twitter/instagram.

Looking at the linked article, Bella seems to have light brown or even blonde hair naturally.

I love Yolanda's house, but there are almost no books in the so-called library.  It's a lifelong  dream of mine to have a library - mine would be stuffed with books.

I understand being suspicious of Yolanda's illness, because it does seem a little bizarre. But I also have a general distrust when doctors say an illness doesn't exist just because they can't understand it. Especially an illness that seems to predominately effect women.

Yolanda does look very unwell in recent pictures. I don't buy her claims that she only has one "good" day. Maybe she means one day free of any kind of ache or pain? But she is used to being very active and athletic. In season one we saw her with a trainer and she clearly is a fit woman. So she may be used to much better health than the majority of people out there.

Yeah, it's a bad crowd, but she fits in.  The Jenner and Smith kids are spoiled, unsupervised, and care nothing about education.  The Jenner girls dropped out of high school to free them up for their "careers" and the Smith kids get "home schooled".

I'm sure there is resentment.  When these rich kids don't have natural beauty (Kendall), their parents buy it through plastic surgery (Kylie).

I don't think that ploy will work with Bruce.

Yolanda gets a beautiful bouquet of flowers from the ultimate momager. . . .http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/yolanda-foster-flowers-kris-jenner-lyme-disease-battle-201512

Yolanda looks really ill. Unless that's just her #woke up this way, and she always looks that haggard under her make up, I think something is up with her health.

It's almost unfortunate that she has the resources to follow any bit of quackery that catches her attention across the globe if necessary. That can end very badly. Very. Maybe there's something to the idea that she's impatient. What does a person as rich and indulged as she is normally ever have to be patient with?

Wow.  Those are stunning.  Yolanda doesn't look like she feels good at all.

I know of whence I speak (had a major organ removed due to cancer) ... and there ain't a chance in hell I was up for a picture, and looking like that. I don't believe a word of it, sorry. She may be suffering from "no-longer-model-itis," where her children are usurping her fame and status, her words of encouragement notwithstanding. Someone whose whole life and reason for living is her looks isn't going to fare well when hitting middle age, no matter how stunning she may still be. A little Munchausen syndrome -- on herself?

I always find pictures like that weird. So you're cuddling all intimately on the bed and who exactly is taking these pictures?

Ha ha.  I thought the same.  It's a cute picture but who's taking the picture?

Also, on her Instagram, she has received some amazing bouquets these past few months.  And she usually has on a perfectly color coordinated shirt to match. "Ohh flowers!  Take my picture.  But wait, I need to change my blouz."

I'd love to know who the florist in Malibu is.  Freaking amazing bouquets.  Think they could make one to match the ratty Hollister hoodie I'm wearing?

I agree that she exaggerates her symptoms, whether consciously or not. I do think her nonstop unproven or "new" treatments in far off lands are not doing her any favors and contribute to how she's been feeling.

On another note, I saw recent photos of GiGi ( shoot, I can't remember where. Maybe SI?) and guess which pose Ms. Icon of her generation was doing? Yep! Open mouthed. Again. GiGi, expand your range, girl! You look like a vapid teenaged blow up doll.

Poor Yolanda must be besides herself...Gigi didn't get the "cover" of Sports Illustrated smiley-cry.gif.

Pity.  She's always got her memories of Gigi on da side of da bus.

She may not be on the cover but is she in this month's issue???
