Did you see the episode valley? If so, who kissed the Cane character in Traci's novel?

Oh, brother.

You said it. I feel compelled to add that I feel very disappointed that when they finally tell a story that highlights Tracy's work, the best they can come up with is her penning a glorified Mary Sue story.

but then I consider the type of stories that they've given my favorite characters in the past, I should shut up and be grateful that I get to see Beth on a semi regular basis. If anyone can fashion a Silk purse from this sows ear, she can.

I am getting very concerned that she they are trying Lauren and Jack happen.

Phyllis was hilarious but then I imagined MS as Phyllis doing the same thing and realized it can and will get worse.  Her arms would have been flailing all over the place and she would have had that stupid grin/not grin that she does.  I am not going to miss GT but I am dreading MS.

I don't understand this Adam story at all.  I am just chalking it up to almost being blown up and living in a seedy motel room for three years.  Cause otherwise there is no explanation for his behaviour.

How is Chelsea married under a new name? A fake name for her and Conner sounds like this marriage and adoption isn't legal.

If she is indeed remarried, it would be a legal union. Adam was declared dead after the cabin exploded. His death allowed her to inherit his estate and move on legally. I don't know precisely what occurs when it's discovered that a person actually didn't die under the circumstances in which it was believed they did. I imagine it's probably a state-by-state thing, but there would have to be some legal mechanism in which they reclaim their lives and identity, which would include such mundane but necessary things as (in the US) Social Security numbers which are demised by that administration upon someone's death.

But i don't think it's legal if she is just living under a fake name and didn't do anything legal to get this new name. If she actually filed paper work to change her name and change Conner's name, wouldn't Victor have found them since he's been looking?

Yes, it wouldn't be legal if she didn't legally change her name. I don't believe she's married, but is telling people she is or simply using an assumed name and possibly one obtained through identity theft, which is certainly in her wheelhouse.  I'm wondering whether she just believes Sharon is baiting her to return to face the consequences of her theft in GC and she thinks Adam being alive is a ruse.

I agree, this is probably the case.

You marry the person, not the name. So it doesn't matter if you use your legal name or not, you are still married. If you were to later get divorced, say, the lawyers would just include something in the documentation about how Legal Name got married under Fake Name. But you'd still have to actually go through the process of getting a divorce - you couldn't just say, "Well, I got married using a fake name, so I'm not married."

This comes up on soaps every now and again. I think the last time was DAYS when John married Marlena's lookalike who used Marlena's name instead of hers. The marriage still had to be legally ended.

It does matter, if she uses some fake alias and marries someone the marriage license is not valid. It's not a legal marriage.

That’s not correct. That’s why when people have fake names or identities like those men on Dateline people still have to get divorces or annulment. Or if a man married a woman with a fake name or secret life she could still divorce him and get a settlement.

You still have to go through a legal process and get an annulment or divorce. Here's fun reading.

Quote

Each state has its own list of conditions that would render a marriage invalid. Typically, they include incest, bigamy, coercion, mental incompetence, and fraud. How these terms are defined and applied in the context of marriage depends on the actual wording of the applicable statutes. I'll say here that "fraud" is usually fairly narrowly defined and does not include using an assumed name.

Victor has Paroxysmal Nocturnal Hemoglobinuria (PNH), a rare, acquired, life-threatening disease of the blood characterized by destruction of red blood cells.  Ho hum; a heart transplant, epilepsy & stroke didn't phase him.

I wonder if Adam has the same blood type?  Vic could lock him in the cage in the basement and use his blood for transfusions.

ok, i am putting on my karnak hat and predicting turd will have experimental stem cell replacement therapy and will be cured...

Good on you, Karnak!

If we all can't see this one coming down the track, we oughta be ashamed. Victor can't [oh why do I say this?] really go into the spare-parts department again--I think he's maxed out on the replaceables. Perhaps a delicate slice of SummerLiver though?

And frankly the Despicable Us team aren't doing much for me--also predictable.

Am I crazy or do EB/Victor and the new dude playing Adam have chemistry. I also think EB has stepped his acting game up since Kristoff’s death.

I definitely agree. EB and MG are good (but EB and MM also interacted well and got along - at first). I don't think JH worked with Braeden much until near the end of JH's run, but the JFP version of Adam wasn't anything like MM's or even his predecessor CE. Hartley's Adam was a new character, just like JT's *Billy*.

The dude who plays Adam is better  than I thought he’d be. I wish GT would stop delivering lines with tears in her eyes, though. Phyllis should be more angry than sad.

Well, Phylthy doesn't have grounds to mad or sad. She shouldn't have been running Jabot in the first place. And if she'd done a better job of vetting Kerry, she wouldn't have hired her. And chemists within a large company don't file for patents, the company's attorneys do that and they maintain patents and trademarks so that they don't expire.

I just remembered that book Never Let Me Go, by Kazuo Ishiguro....

It appears that most of our commenters here approve of the actor who’s playing NuNuAdam. I can’t seem to accept him for some reason. Maybe he’s too new or maybe I don’t think he’s a very good actor but I guess I’ll have to wait for a few months to see if he grows into the role. Anyone else having reservations about this guy?
