Matt never fails to inspire me.  I think he does that for a lot of people, regardless of what kind of disability they have.  And while Amy can't even figure out why a broken hand for someone who uses crutches it an issue, I think she does a good job at public speaking.  She can be quite charming when she's not around Matt.  Apparently, Amy and Molly have had some issues too.  Molly's not shy about revealing that.  I'm also not surprised that the kids don't side with Amy anymore.  If Matt was the reason Amy was so miserable, then why is she still witching when he's not around?

I suspect that Amy's negative and critical demeanor is a direct result of the environment she was raised in.  Her dad is that way as revealed in seasons past and I guess she just can't break it without some serious therapy. And I doubt she would ever venture to admit she is at all at fault in their marital breakup.

The beauty of it is that Matt seems to be able to be happy again and will certainly find someone who is not dead set on being miserable.  I hope he grabs it and makes a happy life.

Does anyone know who Shannon is?  Is she a secretary, assistant?

  • Love 1

And while Amy can't even figure out why a broken hand for someone who uses crutches it an issue,

Oh I think Amy totally knew what Matt was driving at. She just didn't fall for his pity party. He moved out of the house, he publically went on record that he moved out of their house because of her, that he no longer wanted to live with her, that she was not making him happy. But the second the road gets tough for Matt, he seriously expects the slattern bitch of an ex he hates living with to come tend to his precious little injury? Seriously, he left *her*, maybe he needs his new someone special that doesn't make him miserable to tend his medical needs and make him happy? I mean, he's such a catch, its hard to believe the women aren't banging the doors down to be his nurse.

More seriously, I didn't see Amy as particularly bitchy in this episode except for Matt's attention seeking and attempt to make her look bad for not dropping her new life that he foisted on her by walking out on her to his bachelor pad and begging him to let her tend him and praising his precious courage for soldiering on despite his many many handicaps.

Yes, by the way, I am sure Matt's wrist hurt. I'm also sure that if he was having so much pain he couldn't use his crutches that he has a scooter, a mule, and a property that's relatively accessible. I am also sure that his storyline for this episode was "Matt the Man gutting out the pain and working despite HOW EXCRUIATING it is and HOW NO ONE IN THE FAMILY CARES!" - because this is how Matt likes to present himself, as the martyr who shows us all how gamely he fights on. I'm sure that's why no one seemed particularly concerned - Matt likes drama and looky looky Matt's going in the hospital  *right before* Jeremy's wedding - and I am willing to bet that they don't clarify on the show that this happened a full month prior to the wedding. Also as incapable and needing of help Matt was that Amy is chastised for not dropping her life and running to his side.... he managed to go to an ice hockey game despite the broken hand so I am thinking this isn't the first time Matt has pulled the pity me game with the family.

I have not watched this show in quite a while because I found myself be aggravated at the way these people treated, not only each other, but their 'non-existent' youngest son.  I tuned in last night because I saw a blurb on E! Channel saying one of the kids had gotten married & wanted to check it out.

Also didn't Tori's diamond look huge -- center stone as well as surrounding? I'm assuming the ring was comped or Matt and Amy chipped in? I don't imagine Indoor Goals pays that much and who knows how he is compensated for the various farm projects and for the TV show. Regardless I like the two of them more than Jeremy and Audrey -- they're just more likeable and down to earth.

I read somewhere that her diamond was .75.  I did not really see a close up of it to tell for sure.  I read an article that said each family member is paid $15,000.00 for each episode they appear in.  That is quite a sum of money...I am sure he was able to purchase the ring on his own.

I wonder if that farm is large enough to be split for each kid to receive a portion.  Matt was saying last night that he wants to farm to be passed down generation to generation.

Also, while Matt was getting ready to plant the pumpkins, he was saying this was the families bread & butter, this is what paid the bills.

The article from above (posted here again) said in addition to each family member receiving $15,000.00, they are paid $750,000.00 per season for the rights to film on the farm.  That is one heck of a lot of money - much more than selling pumpkins once a year would bring in!  Also makes me think this is why Jeremy comes home so often to "help out'.  Being on camera is the only way he receives that  $15,000.00.

Just watching the episode tonight and wondering if they know there has been a kid missing? The one who still lives at home? ? Or are they keeping him for a special episode where they tear half his head off with the trebuchet again for ratings?

Also, what was going on with Amy's colouring in the scene with Jeremy where they went for lunch? She had these weird brown spots all over her face and neck?

Absolutely prefer Zach and Tori to Jeremy & Audrey.

All cheese aside...I loved it. Young people who had a beautiful ceremony...I will not deprive them of that....she was a beautiful bride and he was a handsome groom. For me? it has nothing to do with Matt or Amy or the franchise...I thought it was sweet. I have a son who is getting married...so I can relate.

I really wish them the best of luck....as a mom? it is the right thing to do ...to offer best wishes to this budding family.

  • Love 6

I agree.  She was a beautiful bride (although I wasn't wild about her dress, it made her look very flat chested).  The wedding was very "them" and they seemed very much in love.  No matter what else I think of Matt and Amy, it's got to be tough on them emotionally with all the talk of forever love, etc.

Where were Matt's parents?  I thought we might get to see them, but if they were shown I missed them.

  • Love 1

I'm surprised that Matt gave credit to Amy more than once about how great a job she did raising Jeremy -- once at the reception where I think she said "we both did it" and once the day before at the barn where she said "you gave him rides on the mule, I took him to school and soccer."

Jeremy was so zen all day, though looked nervous at the altar right when she was about to walk down. Really liked his vows -- hers too though they were too long in comparison to his. He seemed nervous about marriage and starting life in LA when he went to lunch with Amy. I thought her advice was good that being away will let them get used to life's up and downs together without everyone else around.

I know Jer is the big brother, but how can a twin have that much advice given that he's only hitting milestones a few months before Zach. Loved the shots before the ceremony where they were getting dressed and Jer said "take notes, this will be you next yr." Yeah -- I'm sure he and Tori would have figured out how to walk down the aisle, say I do, put on the rings, and kiss the bride, even if they had married before Jer and Audrey. I'm pretty sure they have seen weddings before . . . .

I thought the wedding was quite lovely, especially compared to the glimpses I've had of Jill Duggar's wedding, which was supposed to have a similar country/shabby chic vibe. The farm looked gorgeous with the wild flowers and the hills in the background.

Would it have killed Amy to wear make-up and get her hair done for one day? I know she's low maintenance, but from the neck up she looked like she just rolled out of bed. Normally I wouldn't care, but it's a once in a lifetime event and she's going to be in a ton of pictures.

Audrey seems so shallow and fake. I'm sure she and Jer will have a wonderful, superficial life together!

  • LOL 1
  • Love 1

Camom, They showed both Amy and Matt's parents as everybody was being seated for the ceremony.

I agree that Amy could have fixed herself up a little more for the wedding.

Amy seems so fake when she's talking to people. When they were dress shopping her "ooooohhhhh woooooow" just sounded so fake.

She does the same thing when she greets people and I've always found it so phony. She does this "hiii nice to meet youuu" "you look GREAT"....high pitched thing that drives me crazy.

She just sounds so insincere to me.

I was very very struck by how unlike their actual wedding business, Jeremy's wedding didn't look cheap, slapped together, and didn't involve any caterers dropping the ball. There were also no projects or special moments for Matt to be an ass over.

Speaking of Matt, everyone knows he wasn't in the hospital three four days before Jeremy's wedding right?

I was highly amused that there seemed to be utterly no input from Audrey's side of the family - I am not even sure the guy who led her to the altar is her dad....

  • Love 1

I thought the signs the groomsmen were holding were a little odd.  But her dad's was the worst -- "She's Yours."  I'm not easily offended, but this bothered me.  There could be two interpretations: 1) "She's your problem now" or 2) "She is property to be given away at my discretion."  Not a big deal really, but pushed my buttons.

  • Love 2

I thought it was a lovely wedding and I think Audrey is a pretty girl. I've always had a mild crush on Jeremy and thought he looked really great in his tux! I even liked the flowered halos. I just thought it was beautiful.

I did not get the signs the boys were holding as mentioned above. What all did they say? I could only make out the dad's and one word on one of the grooms men's signs which was, "sexy".

  • LOL 1
  • Love 1

I think one of them said "passion."  I guess what bugged me about the dad's sign was that it's not like she isn't still going to be his daughter.

They all said something in a continuum .....things about the bride (I think) and then , just before her dad walked her out, the last sign said "and now...", so then his said "she's yours".

I wanted to snark on this thing, but it was beautiful. Best reality TV wedding ever. Absolutely perfect.

I have to agree that it was an absolutely beautiful wedding. I loved the decor, Audrey's flowers were breathtaking, and I loved the bridesmaids' dresses. I also loved Audrey's dress in that it wasn't your run-of-the-mill strapless. I was also impressed that she said she bought it second hand -made her seem a little more down to earth. And thank goodness she decided to forego the joker slash of a mouth and instead wore a very pretty and understated colour of lipstick. A little less eye makeup would have been nice, but even the change in lipstick colour showed that Audrey is much prettier without all the paint.

I thought I read or heard that there were to be 300 guests, but it appears the total was 150 as Audrey mentioned having 75 guests on each side of the isle. That seems like a much more reasonable and normal number of guests. I don't know if they had a plan b if it decided to rain, but I am glad that everything seemed to go off without a hitch. Even Matt and Amy holding hands during the speeches (I think it was) brought a smile to my face. Nice that they were able to celebrate this big milestone in their son's life in relative harmony.

One of the signs said sexy baby, which I found a bit odd for a wedding sentiment

Oh! I thought it said "Sexy Raspy". Neither seem appropriate for a wedding, but "sexy baby" definitely makes more sense than "sexy raspy".

I cried through pretty much this whole episode! I KNOW! Shocked. For better or worse, love them or hate them (insert any other cliche here), I thought this was a very emotional episode. I've watched the Roloff kids grow up and it is great to see how far they've come. Jeremy is so handsome and sweet and he seems to have become a good person. I hope that he and Audrey can make it last.

I wonder if we'll get to see Zach's wedding.

Nope, I didn't know he wasn't in the hospital - where did you find that info?

Audrey looked pretty but I like one of the gowns she tried on at the salon better, this one had way too much puff.  I did NOT like the signs being carried down the aisle.  Maybe it would have been nice for us to understand them, especially her dad's, I wouldn't have had him carry one because it would look tacky in pictures of him holding that sign while walking his daughter down the aisle.

The lbridesmaid dresses were very pretty, I've never seen a floral print in a wedding and it worked well and looked lovely with the rest of the decor and theme.

Was there no band?  I didn't see anyone dance (just kids doing cartwheels on the dance floor), then at the end seeing Amy and Jer dancing but to no music.

I did notice Zach and Tori in the background in some scenes and they looked very much in love, really rooting for those two.  I like Tori better than Audrey.  I think Audrey is a bit immature and hopefully being married will mature her a bit, she just seems so flakey.

I hope we get to see Tori and Zach get married.

Nope, I didn't know he wasn't in the hospital - where did you find that info?

On the show, everyone pretty clearly states Matt got out of the hospital three days before the wedding. Which since Jeremy was married on Sept 20, means Matt left the hospital on Sept 17. According to Matt's facebook, Matt got out of the hospital on August 22. I'm not saying he wasn't sick - but he certainly wasn't three days post hospitalization at the wedding and Jeremy dramatically noting how Dad couldn't make it to their filled paintball bachelor party because he was in the hospital *days* before the wedding was made up.

  • Love 1

Okay, I'm going to say something that might offend anyone who is as short as Amy and Matt (I hope not as I don't intend for this comment to hurt anyone),  but I would have done the entrance scene differently, i.e. when Jeremy and his parents are walking down the path/"aisle" together as the ceremony gets underway.

I would have had them make their entrance on a horse-pulled something or other. Not a chariot or anything fancy, but something fitting the country ambience of a farm.   It would have taken the emphasis off the height difference between Jeremy and his parents and put the total focus on Amy, Matt and, of course, Jeremy instead.

I liked it when Aud was asked in which dress she FELT prettier, and Amy piped in with, "I think..."  Ha!

And the hospital wouldn't have kept Matt if he weren't genuinely ill (I was thinking a kidney infection, from his symptoms); not in THIS insurance climate. I seriously doubt if it was a ploy for attention...

Oh, and...  Aud and Jer are "stoked"; did you hear?

Edited by joanofarch4

Pony cart decorated with flowers would have been perfect for the farm.

Or a dog-and-pony cart.

Aud and Jer remind me of that scene from, I think, "Annie Hall"; some movie where Woody Allen interviews couples, asking the secret of their happiness.  One says, "because we're shallow and vapid and never have a serious thought!"

Tori and Zach do seem much more likeable.

  • Love 2

Yeah, as I said I don't doubt Matt was ill and in the hospital but he wasn't in the hospital September 17, three days before Jeremy's wedding on the 20th, by his own facebook, he was out of the hospital on the 23rd of August.

The attention seeking is claiming he was a mere three days from hospitalization and missed Jeremy's filmed bachelor event (I assume they did something else off screen) and was touch and go over even attending etc when in fact he'd been out of the hospital for close to a month. I mean really, why add that to the storyline unless Matt is looking for a pity party?

I wish the signs the groomsmen were holding were more visible or had been explained. Otherwise it seemed strange because the only ones I could read were "passionate", "sexy _____", and the last three were "fiery fox", "and now", "she's yours". If it was something in sequence, why would "fiery fox" (which I assume is a nickname Jeremy gave Audrey?) come right before "and now she's yours"?

Loved the wedding decor.

This made me looney enough to Google and the answer was on the Knot.com....I think it was some kind of twittering they were doing, and Audrey explained that because she loved words so much, she had them carry signs with the names/words Jeremy used for her......"sexy baby"....passionate...I forget them all.... at the end she had her dad hold one that said "she's yours" and she said that was when he cried.    I've never seen that before, and it seemed...well, a bit narcissistic and one-sided (see how great he thinks I am!).  I did love the look of the wedding, though.

  • Love 3

I just finally watched the wedding episode.  I thought it was lovely, I cried through half the show.  I also thought Amy and Matt were very genuine (though I wish Amy would have worn some makeup.  She has terrible skin).   I haved watched this show from day one and though they lost me for a while, I reluctantly stepped back in recently.  I think Jeremy turned into a nice young man who is truly in love with his wife.  Zac also seems to be coming into his own.  I wish all the children luck where ever their lives take them.  Yes, their family is disfunctional and everyone elses.  It was just played out on TV.

  • Love 1

I thought the farm was beautiful and never looked better for the wedding.  It must have felt special to be married there where he grew up.

I noticed Audrey seemed "at arm's length" so to speak when she hugged Tori and Molly just after the girls arrived...she had big smiles and hugs for everyone but those two appeared to be done out of duty or something.

Amy looked horrible!  Her hair was unkempt looking, no make up and her skin is nasty and she looked sick!  Every time the camera was on her I thought you couldn't do better than that??

I was glad they put their differences aside for the wedding and were quite civil to each other but I did feel Matt saying over and over again what a great job Amy did with Jeremy and all the kids was over the top and he could have shared the credit.  Say it once and then shut up!  LOL

Edited by jodo

Amy can never just say "thank you"; she has to argue with everything Matt says!  Irritating.

As for the signs, they were probably supposed to be reminiscent of the old "Burma Shave" roadside advertisements (the idea can probably be seen on "Etsy")...

I do feel that Matt is thoroughly DONE with Amy (hence his reluctance to call on her for help), while she's still secretly "wishin' and hopin' and dreamin' and prayin'" for a reconciliation...

Not an uncommon scenario in long relationships gone bad...

Of course, what actually happens in real life and what they'll show happening for the cameras may be two entirely different things, as we've learned by now with TLC...

Eh, I certainly don't think Amy is a saint, but neither do I think Matt *isn't* difficult.  Matt is demanding and frankly insulting when he thinks he's coming from a position of power, and from participating on the fringes in the lawsuit against the county (I helped the fan board moderator that Matt supoenead on a whim fight the subpoena and win) I probably saw far too much of his nasty side to as he crowed publically how he was having soooo much fun serving subpeonas to people to really buy the "Matt is the much put upon saint while Amy is a harping shrew" stuff. He's difficult. And its all over the court docs and btw you'll notice he never mentioned he lost that lawsuit, until he filed the appeal, and never mentioned he lost the appeal either.

  • Love 2

Finally saw this episode and really did enjoy it. I felt like I've watched Jeremy grow up (I remember that paint ball episode).  I hope he and Audrey learn words besides "stoked" to express happiness lol.

Re: Amy and Matt, I thought it was nice of them to be civil to each other during the wedding. WRT just not saying Thank you, I have the same problem. It comes from not knowing how to take a compliment.  You just can't take that much positive attention, especially if you didn't grow up with it and so your first reaction is to deflect and minimize the praise.

I think Amy does love Matt and like she said always will care about him but yeah, Matt is DONE.

I kind of remember something about such a lawsuit, that it was mentioned on the show. But I can't remember. Could you tell us more either here or on the Small Talk thread if it didn't really relate to an actual LPBW show?

I had stopped watching the show, but when I read here about how lovely the wedding was, I watched this episode. And I agree. It was fun and a lovely wedding and made the very best possible use of Roloff Farms. I especially loved their walking through the flowery meadow. And I loved the table decorations with the brass and old bottles. Really lovely.

Sure. I will post here. Mods, if it needs to be moved, let me know but the actual lawsuit was over an episode that aired on the show. The Noah's ark episode to be specific. Matt and Amy sued the county for a bunch of things, Constitutional violations of their rights, trespass and for emotional damages etc etc.

In unrelated news, Matt had been trying for years to find out who runs this website - http://spiritswander.blogspot.com/ - a fansite for the show that can be critical. Even though the website and website owner have no connection to Washington County - who Matt was suing, Matt subpoenaed Google for the identity of Spirit the site owner and every person who ever posted on the site as they might all be conspirators in the county's grand scheme to continually harass the Roloffs based on two articles that were posted about the Noah's Ark episode and subsequent lawsuit. Matt online has pushed an agenda for years about how "negative nellies" lie about his family and had very negative interactions with fans on the TLC boards and even accused  friends of the family of running this website. It was a pain in the ass to deal with - I'm not a lawyer but I wrote the motions to quash the subpoena because I agreed with the site owner that it was an attempt to silence opinions he didn't like and was a ridiculous waste of the court's time. The subpoena was quashed, because there was utterly no indication that that anyone had "secret county info". The site owner did not have to reveal their identity to Matt - a kind lawyer assisted in helping the site owner file anonymously because at this point the site owner had also gotten some fairly threatening emails from someone claiming to be a producer of the show (to be fair, no idea of it really was a producer)

In fact all of Matt and Amy's claims of constitutional violations to their privacy were thrown out. They appealed the decision, including the quashed subpoena again and Matt merrily interviewed to the local news how he was a fighter and was gonna take this all the way to the supreme court! The site owner - who doesn't make money off the site - had to deal with the appeal and again, Matt and Amy lost on all of their objections. They haven't made a peep since. The original case is 3:10-cv-01487-MO on pacer.

The court docs paint a much different picture of the Roloffs. Also I still can't get the tee heeing he was doing about how fun it was to subpoena Google when I know he was doing it for no actual reason other than to find out who ran the site - going thru the court documents there was never even any suggestion or questions put to the actual county workers if they had any connection to the site. He's nasty. He was on a power trip and thought he would win because it is expensive to fight such things and he assumed the site operator would have to cave. That's being an asshole in my book.

  • Love 2

I just googled it and read the Noah's Arc boat drew complaints/concerns it might fall on someone on the farm so someone was sent to investigate and broke the Roloff's 4th amendment rights by not getting a search warrant, did not identify himself to Amy which prompted her "attack" on him.

The court case concerning the Roloffs suing the Spirits Wander forum because they didn't like the content or poster's comments is a separate issue and is not related to any episode so it has no relevance here.

Actually the blogger was not sued and it is connected to the case involving the Noah's Ark episode.

read the Noah's Arc boat drew complaints/concerns it might fall on someone on the farm so someone was sent to investigate and was found guilty of breaking the Roloff's 4th amendment rights as he didn't have a search warrant

You're incorrect. All of the constitutional claims of violating the Roloff's 4 ammendment rights were dismissed. That's why the Roloffs appealed the decision.

Matt as a part of his not very clever plan to get his way and shut down outside discussion of his show, subpoened the wedsite owner of the fansite claiming that the website owner was a Washington County employee, and part of the conspiracy on the part of the Washington County inspectors to violate the Roloffs rights when they looked over the Ark. Matt's theory was that the anonymous website owner would be revealed to be a Washington County employee and or other posters were employees and fellow conspirators in Washington County. As there was no evidence cited, and there were no posts on the website about things only a Washington County employee involved in the supposed rights violations could know, the subpeona against the website owner was quashed and the person running the site was not forced to reveal their identity to Matt (and open themselves up for more harassment)

The Roloffs lost ALL of their consitutional claims of their rights being violated. They weren't unlawfully searched, the county showed they had a legit complaint made, the it was established that the Ark was not part of their home but in a public area of the property, and the Roloffs couldn't establish a pattern of harrassment. The inspector who was in the episode in his testimony said Matt had given him prior permission to enter the property for such complaints. Matt denied it, which means the guy was guilty of simple trespass. Amy did jump on the guy's lap and in the unaired footage the guy tripped and pushed her and she commented on how that would look on camera.

It started in an episode and as Ispansy noted, it's very interesting that Matt hasn't said boo about it when he was crowing like the cock on the walk that he was a *fighter* when he thought he was winning.

The court case concerning the Roloffs suing the Spirits Wander forum because they didn't like the content or poster's comments is a separate issue and is not related to any episode so it has no relevance here.

Again you're incorrect. There is no seperate court case against Spiritswander's forum. SPiritswander was subpoened in the Noah's Ark episode case because Matt wanted the identities of Spiritwander and all posters on the site so he could prove they were Washington County employees and involved in the county's dastardly plan to oppress him.

It's not a seperate case and the Roloffs have NO lawsuits pending or otherwise against Spiritswander's forum. I've noted above if the mods don't feel it is appropropiate here that I have no trouble with them moving it but this lawsuit did indeed revolve around the events of the Noah's ark Episode in season 6.

Very Special Episode. In this case, had Matt won, we certainly would have had an episode where he let us all know how even though he's a dwarf, he's a *fighter* and he'll stand up for himself! There would likely have been a few shots of Matt staring out over his land, Amy standing pensively behind him, as he voices over how much it means to him to be a man and to stand up as tall and as proud as he can to fight for what is right against all those who would hold a man down and judge him for being a dwarf.

Because the county was against him because he was successful at the farm and they were against a dwarf being successful, dontcha know?

There'd also be some of the "serious" piano music. :)
