Thank you (and thank you to the other poster who clarified this). I have no idea where I came up with DR and Haiti. I r dum.

ETA: I swear to God I thought the LED-lit balloons on Jesse's bed were blown up condoms. I thought that was an interesting use of them but that he had better save them to double-down against Darcy-the-Wanna-Be-Mom.

PamelaMaeSnap, the border area around Haiti and DR is very dangerous and not a place to live decently, though a few poor people do.   During visits to both countries Haiti and Dominican Republic -- which form the island of Hispaniola -- I noticed many men (and a few women) who live in DR and also in the US and Europe.  They consume girls (and boys) like Abby as they consume food and alcohol, part of the sex tourism with hundreds of choices.   I've said before that girls like Abby tourists don't even have to go out to meet, they approach you and start "conversations" very freely and very quickly make sexual advances.  They often speak multiple languages because they need to, in order to make a living.   Abby is probably one of those girls who travel to DR for two weeks per month to "work" and then come back with their earnings to feed their family, blah blah blah.   I'd bet money that Jenny is on the same path, though not as advanced as Abby.

I've often thought that if they can learn multiple languages and engage people, they are obviously street smart and could legitimately make a living in a sales environment.   But they delude themselves into thinking they are "self employed" and they don't have a boss and stay on this sad life forever.   As we notice businesses and professions being passed down to children in generations, the children of these sex workers also pass down their "skills" to their brood and thus perpetuate the sex slavery.    Very sad.

Karine is not there yet and with a policeman as her dad, I doubt it.  But perhaps Abby and Jenny DO NOT come from such a strong family or perhaps other factors are luckily pointing her away from that sad life of prostitution.

Thank you for clarifying this with so much more info (scary, sad info), Amy ... Obviously I knew that DR and Haiti were the two parts of Hispaniola, neighbors geographically and yet so many worlds apart, etc. (I've been a baseball writer for 30 years so always found it interesting that they stitch the baseballs in Haiti yet there are virtually NO Haitian baseball players whereas, obviously, the DR is a hotbed for talent ... read an interesting article about a Haitian-born youngster who is making a name for himself but playing with the Dominican pre-teens but that's off-topic LOL ... plus I have a relative who is very involved in Haiti and its culture) ... but I DID NOT know about the "subculture" you mention around the border of these louche men creepers! I just don't see ANY way this relationship can end well whether Abby "ends up" with Chris OR Sean. Hoping TLC is providing a healthy paycheck and she can come stateside (but am not holding out hope).

By the way, the subculture of sex tourism that I described is rampant throughout the entire Dominican Republic, more so in touristy towns and larger cities.   In other words, for a young lady who wants to be part of that world, it is extremely easy.   Prostitution is openly legal there and very tolerated at all levels of society.

Haiti didn't have much of an infrastructure and was actually the "poorest country in the Americas", according to the WorldBank.  Still is.  After the 2010 earthquake, Haiti was almost completely destroyed.  No infrastructure, little or no government, no jobs, nothing.   Lots of families illegally emigrated to the Dominican Republic and to this day, the two countries are still in conflict, much worse and hostile than US + Mexico.   Imagine that climate and imagine being very poor and uneducated to begin with.  What are your choices?   I'm not saying that prostitution is the only choice, but to many people,  hungry, dirty, unskilled and hopeless, the choice of a quick trick can be their way to a hot meal.  There's always a friend who introduces them to a John on a double-date and they start by "entertaining" this John whenever he is town.   Then there's a second John and the next thing you know, they are entertaining (screwing) between 5 and 10 regular men plus other "occasionals".   I'm not making fun of this.   My spouse thinks that these women are just lazy whores and asks why can't they make money cleaning homes.   But I feel that there's more to it and that one must consider all the factors.

If you think a post has a spoiler, you can report it. I haven't noticed other than a post that had a spoiler tag, but I think what you are reading as spoilers are just opinions. As someone who has read all the spoilers, a lot of the speculation has been wrong. You very well may not have been spoiled. I think the post, which I quoted and lost again, said that some had been removed, so those probably were spoilers but most of the speculation I read in these threads is really just that.

I think Jesse  viewed this opportunity as a way to showcase his brand -- his "body, mind, pyschology" stuff.   Take a tacky AF chunky 40 something who he describes as "chaotic" and transform her into a lean machine in a manner of weeks and relax that chaotic lifestyle.  And do this all within the six week period of their 90 day fiance visit!  Then when she's this hot 40 something, post photos of her to showcase how his brand works.  What he probably didn't bank on was having an emotionally stunted woman who expects a fairy tale to happen immediately and isn't interested in being molded by some 24 year old Svengali.  Now he's thinking oh fuck, my brand isn't working.  Better highlight what a belligerent drunk she is!

By the way, if Abby and Jenny are indeed prostitutes, they are not developed professionals or High End.  A professional will not risk going on a show like this and put her life on public display.   There's the legal aspect of it as they have to sign a contract with TLC and and TLC may do a light background check on them.   A professional will likely smell if the prospect has any money during their first meeting and is likely to prefer the long con (getting money out of them for a long time) over the short con (one job and you are out).

Also, neither of them has the look or the education to be "high end".   I'm explaining this about high end prostitution because people tend to think that prostitution is only consumed by the middle and upper classes, but actually poor people consume this service and it is mostly poor women who offer it.

It's ironic that Paul had Karine tested and Karine doesn't give off the vibe of escort or beginner prostitute that Abby and Jenny do.   Yet, Sean did not even ask Abby about her sex life and should have after he learned of Chris (the other guy).   Larry should get Syphilis, Gonorrhea and Chlamydia for being so fu@#ng dumb.

AmyBre, you have some interesting information.  Thank you.  For women (and men, I guess) who live in these kinds of environments, I don't disapprove of their prostitution at all.  If I was in the same situation, I can't say I would be above it.  (I thank the Lord I'm not in that situation).  People gotta do what they gotta do.  Since Abby doesn't seem like a pro (not so sure about Jenny) AND (speculating) if she has been doing this, she may want to be getting out of it and hoping to snag an American.  Truthfully, again I can't say I wouldn't do it too.

So, thank you, Pedro. We are truly the ones who are #blest.

That's got to be it because otherwise I cannot figure out what he sees in her.

Don't get me wrong. Darcey is beautiful. (Those fillers will go away, right?) She needs to say no to the fillers, get a normal haircut and start dressing her age. That doesn't mean dressing like a schoolmarm.  Just the whole look she's got, the extensions, the lashes, the neck band, the nails, it all looks like so much work! I'll bet she's that special cream for a no crepe neck, and a dozen other expensive things that she's got to put on every night, as well as teeth whiteners and a little kit to fix her nails if they break. Just so. much. work. And it shows. The strain of constantly trying to look young shows in her face. She doesn't put on shades to block the sun. She puts on her sunglasses because she's afraid the bright light will make her eyes look old.

Darcey would be beautiful if she did nothing to her face, and if she dressed properly, and if she stopped wearing a wig, and if she did not wear chokers, and false lashes and unicorn nails and if her brows were...

Conclusion: she's not beautiful. Everybody would be hot if they did something.

Jesse might have only a nice body but that's something isn't  it? Darcey has nothing. Body, face, looks. Not even smart. She can't ride a bicycle yet, at 42 years. And any little thing that bothers her she drinks?   The stepfather was rude to her but was so right. I understand that Jesse likes older women, that's fine but I'm pretty sure he would find a gorgeous, independent and sober woman in Amsterdam.  I don't know even know if he dreams of moving to Middletown, Connecticut so no I cannot figure out what he sees in her and I mean it.

Darcey and Jesse:  Who's the asshole?  Left Twix vs Right Twix.  Who cares?  She's passive aggressive and needs a bottle or two of wine to let out her frustrations.  Jesse is a passive aggressive control freak who is trying to tame the chaotic Darcey.  Neither one knows how to treat the other one as an adult.  Ergo: They are both assholes.

Larry and Jenny: The front desk clerk asks him Business or Pleasure?  Jenny: Business.  Larry: Pleasure.  What a stupid question!  I wonder how many men check in with much younger women and no luggage at that "fancy" hotel.

Abbey/Chris/Sean: Chris reminds me of an adult Butt-Head.

What Jesse sees in her is easy:  TV.  A chance to make his "meesterisms" happen.  As I said up thread, I'll bet he was hoping to transform chaotic Tacky AF Darcy and make her into a meditative swan using his "body, mind, pyschology" bullshit.  He didn't expect to encounter a woman who has the mentality of a teenager.

Karine is not there yet and with a policeman as her dad, I doubt it.  But perhaps Abby and Jenny DO NOT come from such a strong family or perhaps other factors are luckily pointing her away from that sad life of prostitution.

Abby is smarter than Jenny and no doubt, managed to find herself a handful of regulars to whom she was actually attracted. So, her life is easier by comparison. She hasn't lost her spark.

Jenny has that thousand yard stare. I'm guessing her life has been hell and she has been with men she just loathed. She seems more experienced, but she has far less savvy. She also seems (operative word here, seems) to have a full blown attachment disorder. She won't bond with Larry. She won't bond with anyone without significant inpatient therapy which she won't find for herself in her homeland. Again, she has very little resourcefulness. She was lucky to stumble onto Cupid and find Larry.

I could see Jenny doing something seriously illegal here with no understanding of U.S. laws or their ramifications.

I apologize for bringing up McAfee again, but he has permanent hearing damage in one ear from where one of his five girlfriends tried to shoot him in his sleep in Belize.  As a result, he got very angry and took away her cellphone for a month. She pouted saying, "But I didn't even kill him."

That's the cutthroat world some of these young women come from. Larry's dealing with a complete unknown here. No doubt the Larry's cousin's wife was all too familiar with scams that go on in her home country. And, no doubt, the cousin's poor wife has been unfairly judged as a mail order bride which is so not right!!!! You could tell she and her husband were very much a couple and very well matched and in love.

See, I didn't say anything too graphic about McAfee even though the dude probably has breath like a demon. There's no Altoid strong enough.

It's probably not so difficult to "fall in love" when your interactions have not extended beyond the internet.  My mother used to say, "It's easy to love somebody, but try living with them."

I still think Jesse's affections for older women stem from his attachment to his rather unconventional mother.  He may feel as though younger women might be too judgmental about his mother and stepfather's lifestyle and, as he admitted, his prospective girlfriend(s) and his mother must have a good rapport; otherwise, it's a "deal breaker."

As for Jesse possibly showboating his body, that's a possibility, but I think he is very good looking.  I would not be at all surprised to learn his motives for his being on the show include the exposure should he pursue acting (which we already may safely assume) and/or modeling.

Darcey looks every bit of her 42 years - and then some - without her warpaint.  It was shocking - and somewhat pathetic - to see her barefaced and crying the day after the drinking and hiding-in-the-bushes debacle.  Clearly, Darcey is reaching the point of despair regarding the likelihood of a future with Jesse.

Finally, I think I detect a correlation between Jesse's disapproval of Darcey's wine consumption and his mother's drinking.  His reaction, as unreasonable as it appeared, may originate in his family history of alcoholism or substance abuse.  Based on the limited amount of screen time we've seen of his mother and stepfather, I am going to speculate that both of them enjoy their "cocktails" a tad too much.  Assuming I'm correct on this hunch, then Jesse may have a knee-jerk response to seeing others, particularly someone he's dating, inbibe to excess.  He may have good reason to be worried since Darcey had been drinking with his mother earlier that same day and evidently didn't stop there.  She went out afterwards to a bar, suggesting the possibility, however remote, of a problem.

I doubt Darcey has a drinking problem but she probably shouldn’t have gone out to have some wine to make herself feel better. Jesse was being ridiculous about the situation but darcey shouldn’t have acted so sassy either. What I saw was a terribly handled situation on both sides. I don’t think she should be ignoring Jesse but if I was her I would need some space from that as well. She’s a forty two year old woman that has managed her life this far I doubt she needs a man that can suffocate her like that no matter how desperate she seems. I feel like she saw a different side to Jesse that night and is starting to doubt him as a partner. It’s time to let go of the trophy darcey.

Those pictures prove how awful, severe and unbecoming it is when you part your hair straight down the middle. No woman looks good like that past the age of 20. I don't get why so many still do it. Go back to the side part, Darcy. Cut your hair shoulder length and get some highlights.  Also,  she didn't need to do a thing to her lips, they were naturally full. She was so pretty. A little botox here and there to soften any lines and wrinkles is all she needs. What a shame. Something else I can't stand is false eyelashes. They make the eyes look heavy and old. Jeez,  ditch the lashes and just wear a few extra coats of mascara and call it a day!

They aren't on the next season of 90 days.  And according to what I think I saw on my DVR, that season starts in like 2 weeks.

If any of these couples do make it to the 90 days, I'm thinking they'll be on the next season which should be in a few months.

Instead of being nervous, you should look at the gifts you will receive, like Azan and the little bit big Nicole.  Remember, time means more opportunity for craziness we get to enjoy later.  :)

Eu sei que você já conheceu o cabelo da minha mãe, mas aqui ela está pessoalmente

(You're welcome.  LOL.)

I can't!  Paul is worth like 20 Azans. Can you just imagine when the producers showed up and saw that he had cleared out REI for his trip for Brazil? They were probably besides themselves with glee. Or when the camera man watched his mom yank out a snarl of tangled hair from her brush for Paul to cherish? And his inept sign language? And the incident that was in the previews?

Paul is the best thing to happen to 90 Days. He is every fulfillment of my reality tv wishes made flesh.

Are we talking about Chris, Abby's friend? He does not look to be in his 60s. I took him for similar age to Sean around late 40s early 50s. I didnt see the first episode so I dont know when they said he was a surgeon in his 60s but he doesnt look it. Unless you are talking about someone else.

I know they said both Sean and Chris' ages and that Chris was in his 60's.  IMO he does look to be in his 60's.  Remember 60 is the new 40 or at least 45.

Totally with you, SOSHULMEEDYA!  CoachWristletJen is one of my favorites too, and you are right up there with her.  This is a fun group.  Thanks for the entertainment.

Oh trust me, I know that Azan isn't in the same league as Paul, but that story isn't without it's charms.  Did Nicole discover that fabric can cover shoulders?  What excuse will Azan use to avoid PDAs now he's in the states?

But sweet jiminy I can't wait to watch Paul tomorrow.

I'll DVR it. I'm all about Poldark tomorrow.
