S04.E15: Reunion, Part 2

It just will never not boggle my mind that knowing that they were going to launch Shep into a spin-off, they would give him this kind of edit all season long which makes me wonder if this is Shep given a relatively favorable one and there is worse we're not shown. Like if you had to put in a spin-off, it would make a lot more sense to all of this building into some sort Shep: Fix Your Life type of program instead of a show where a bunch of women compete for the affections of some drunk a-hole. Like when you come off like a douchebag in the trailer for your OWN DATING SHOW, you are in a world of trouble.

We saw a minute preview of Shep's new show and it is already being talked about more on this thread than the actual reunion.  Ugh.

I've always thought Katherine was very good looking but even I gotta admit that her hair looked terrible.  I didn't even mind the dress but that hair!

Boy, Shep continues to come off bad.  I wonder if TPTB are having regrets about giving Shep a show.  His image really took a hit this season.  And I don't know why Shep continually feels the need to go after Craig and his life choices.  Maybe it's because Shep is so unhappy with his own so he needs to put Craig down.

Seems that Austen still really likes Chelsea but she's not into it for now.  I thought Chelsea handled herself well with the Shep situation and I'm glad Kathryn brought up how men talk about women.

So Landon still thinks it's ok to be flirty with men whether on not there's another women or friend involved.  I doubt Landon has many girlfriends.  I also wonder how she would feel if the situation was another woman flirting with someone she was involved with.  Well, at least daddy created a job for her.  It will be interesting to see how that goes.  Giggle.  Giggle.

The other thing that just repulses me is TRav and his age selection for a woman to have a future with.  He and Shep are both delusional in so many ways.  Take away the money, well....

Oh, look, Whitney got to say a sentence.

I really do hope that Kathryn continues to stay on course so that those kids have a mother in their lives regularly.  I thought the custody agreement they agreed to a few weeks ago was fair.

I agree with Kathryn,  there is no way TRav lives in that guest house and wakes up to make his children breakfast.

In this episode in regards to the treatment of women and when she gave advice to Naomie in regards to Craig a few episodes back, Kathryn seems to be somewhat level-headed as long as the issues being addressed aren't her own.

I am just reacting to the reunion. And how different the reaction was to Landon and Shep., at the reunion.

Was it really though? Everyone bagged on Shep for what he did, except for Whitney. Whitney was the only one giving him a pass. All others didn't. All others said what he did was wrong. Heck, even Kathryn weighed in and had the wisest comeback during that back and forth. Which is the last think I ever expected. I would think something like that would come from Cameran.

You can tell that the Chelsea line of questions made Shep nervous. His leg was shaking at 100 per minute.

I loved every minute of her questioning. I always went back and forth on Shep in the previous seasons. Sometimes I would like him and other times I would not. This season I switched to a constant dislike of him. His attitude about being too drunk at the airport, how he treats Craig and all the Chelsea/Austin stuff was so disgusting.

Quote

I'd watch a show of Gizmo grooming himself before wasting my time watching that Sheptastic piece of crap.

I would watch every week if this was a show. How the hell didn't Gizmo get the spin off? I would figure he is the most popular cast member.

Please Austin if you are single next season do not turn into Shep. I believe the show introduced him as Shep 2.0 at the start of the season.

I felt like besides some specific instances TPTB could have put the previous seasons reunion on the air instead of this one. It feels like the same exact storylines each season. Can these people evolve or find a new storyline for next season? Please?

LOL, too late, he already has. He's always been mini-Shep that way - he isn't above being sleazy and sleeping around. Main difference is he won't mind being in a relationship, while Shep is so allergic to it. But when he's not in one, he also sleeps around. His castmates pretty much gave him up during the end. If Shep leaves, it will be interesting if he does take over the mantle, so to speak.

It's actually funny during the first part of the reunion where they're saying how Austen is the improved, better version of Shep, and Shep is just sitting there sort of shaking his head, but also chuckling. He knows the real Austen and where the bodies are buried, so to speak. But the show does need a new likable lead since Shep has regressed from being one.

Is it just me, or did Shep give an aura of just being so over about everything during the reunion? Yeah, he did get a lot of word in, but he also gave an air of couldn't care any less about this shit. I don't blame him though, he got his own show out of Southern Charm and he will be doing what he most wanted to do anyway, and he won't have to be bothered with fake conflicts, fake friendships etc. That trailer looks like a Shepwreck. It's like "The Bachelor - But We're Not Even Pretending We Have a Lead Looking for True Love" kind of show.

Yes, it's getting tiring. At this point, I honestly don't see anything that would be refreshing and/or interesting for a new season. Maybe Cameran's baby (if her husband even allows their baby to be on the show)? Landon's website (LOL)? Baby #3 (never going to happen)? Craig/Naomie making it, or breaking up?

Gizmo is probably more discriminating about his relationships than most of the people on this show. Geez, the guys (save Craig) are like a bunch of aging feral cats. And yeah, I include Austin in that.

Nexxie, I agree with what you've said but we know that's not going to happen. It's time for Shep's family and close friends to step in for an intervention and get this man some serious help. This last season has shown him to be a real drunk with no direction in his life, no purpose to his life and nothing to strive for in his life. He's lost right now and needs to find a reason to keep living. This makes me sad for him. He could be so much more.

Totally agree, and it's sad. Yet I gagged when he was flailing at Craig and saying how introspective he is. He's about as introspective as Vicki Gunvalson.

Shep likes to dish it out but he can't take it when it's directed at him.

While they both like to get entangled in others affairs, Craig sees Shep for what and who he is, and what he does. At least he has the balls to stand up to him and not be a Yes Man.

And I don't even like Craig.

Most boring reunion, ever.

Awwww.. Kathryn and Thomas still have the hots for each other. Those two make me sick.

She bugs me but pregnant Cameran is very beautiful.

I'm surprised Austen and Chelsea aren't together. Didn't they profess their undying like for each other in the finale?  Hope they're not setting Austen up to be the new man whore next season.

Yo Bravo, having the protagonist of your upcoming dating show be shown as a completely antagonistic drunk asshole on his previous show is a formula that does not compute. I may have watched the Shep (Shit) show after the first season of Southern Charm, but I sure as hell am not going to watch it now.

For all the talk about Craig's bedroom skills, it was clear throughout the whole season that it was actually Austin who was underperforming with Chelsea, which I think is a significant part of why she is not interested in a relationship with him.

Yes, Kathryn is self-absorbed and wants what she wants. She's repeating what she's heard in therapy, but she's not adhering to it. Not that I've seen or heard, that is.

He's like the honest trailer version of The Bachelor. Though to make it truly comparable, Shep would have had to have been a suitor on The Bachelorette, on Bachelor in Paradise, and then become The Bachelor. Shep got a half decent edit in seasons 1 - 3. He got an unsympathetic edit season 4, which is probably akin to a Bachelor in Paradise season, and then he's actually promoted once they finally ruined his reputation and shown himself to be terrible.

Oh, boy, the way T-Rav was saying how he spotted a gorgeous woman across the room and it turned out to be Kathryn, coupled with the living heart-eye emojis they were giving each other, I wouldn't be surprised if they conceived baby #3 [Whitney's 6th-grade gesturing here] immediately after filming. Let's try to guess the baby name. I'm going with a girl named Duchess Cordelia Sutherland Calhoun-Ravenel or a boy named Barron Bartholomew Beauregard Calhoun-Ravenel.

Speaking of goo-goo eyes. I don't quite understand why both Austen and Chelsea eagerly expressed wanting to date each other again, but they're not dating...because cameras aren't around?? I suppose they'll be "back on" next season?

I was skeptical about RelationShep when I thought he was just traveling around going on a new date each episode. But now that I know he brings the women BACK to Charleston to live together a la The Bachelor, I'm all in! My recording cut off mid-preview, but I'm just going to assume it's going to be as spectacularly Wrong Reasons dramatic as I imagine.

I enjoyed Chelsea, Kathryn, and Austen calling out Shep and Whitney for their BS about Shep. It needed to be done.

I don't get why craig even tries to be friends with Shep still. Maybe he just likes arguing with him to brush up on his lawyering skills? Lol

were the Kathryn and Landon exchanges shown out of order or are they really that all over the place with Landon being sympathetic to Kathryn and then them raging at each other?

Kathryn and Thomas are so crazy, going from I will destroy your life to looking like they could bang right there on the set.

Shep is a sad sad human being. He needs help. He's so jealous of Craig it seeps out his pores. Craig was spot on in saying Shep had nothing to live for. I thought it was very telling that everyone agreed "drunk Shep" was not a nice guy, and knowing Shep is only briefly sober between daily bouts of being drunk says volumes about this guy. Relationshep. Blech!

Thomas saying he would like a woman around 35-39. Gross. This guy is just delusional, wait till he inches nearer to 60.

Landon, just go away. She flip flops with her opinions from moment to moment.

i think this show is done.

The editing was definitely wonky. I noticed Austen's arm around Landon in one shot, the next immediate shot of her, he wasn't that close. There's no telling what really went on as it's Andy's show and he thrives on feeding us bullshit.

Great we've got women who'll battle each other in competition to clean up Shep's vomit, roll the bastard over so he doesn't choke on said vomit, clean off poorly aimed bodily fluids around the toilet, wake him up at 3 pm and pull him into a shower to clean off spilt alcohol and spent semen, dribbled puke and pee, endure listening to his drunk ramblings using SAT words and philosophical quotes, concoct or cook the best hangover cure, The dating portion  is to see who can match him drink for drink and still guide his drunk ass home.

Winnah, Winnah Chicken Dinnah!

Your prize is an aging horse toothed loquacious drunk!

Oh I can't ever imagine him married. Perhaps years after he cleaned up his act, maybe, but the way he is now? Just no. If he married and had children can you even imagine how embarrassed the children would be to have a drunk father? A ner do well they can't look up to? Any woman willing to marry him "as is" is after money and would have very low self esteem to put up with his messy boozy ways. It's very sad and I hope that he smartens up.

Seems that Bravo and Andy are only feeding this train wreck. Hmm...must be a pay off or reason why. I have my guess but it's just that (and not very pretty).

Am I the lone viewer who's actually kinda stoked about Shep's upcoming show? I'm looking forward to seeing him traveling around the country acting like his usual bumbling, goofy drunk horndog self. It'll at least help me miss the cast less while waiting around for yet another likely season of SC.

But then again, aside from the drunken Chelsea-grabbing incident((which he profusely apologized for)), Shep doesn't bug me all that much. Yeah, so he's an aimless rich partyboy who doesn't know how to have a healthy adult relationship; yeah, so he picks on Craig for being an annoying know-it-all. He seems harmlessly amiable enough otherwise and liked by many, he just needs to grow up a bit.

I quit watching "The Bachelor" years ago because I couldn't take watching anymore obvious famewhores looking for entertainment careers, not actual romance. And yet I loved "Rock/Flavor of Love" on VH1---I'm hoping this will at least be a nice lighthearted combo of the irreverence of those shows mixed with some glamorous "fantasy dates" and extra Charleston scenery porn along the way.

And if that assclown Jax from "Vanderpump Rules" can get his own Bravo spinoff, I suppose anything is possible.

This reunion was quite possibly the most boring one yet. Whitney and Cameron barely even spoke. I think this show might have one last season in it before it sputters out into shark-jumping land, but it's tough to tell after this tepid duo of reunions.

@Sun-Bun I'm on the fence about Shep's upcoming show. Who am I kidding? Yes, I'll tune in and see what it's like and for some of that glorious mess that is delusional Shep. I just don't want to see all the girls used and then tossed after he dirties their reputations (they should know better when they sign that release form that states that editing can show them in any light without consequences). This show could be a delicious mess or a sad end to a Peter Pan boy who will never change his ways because that steady mailbox money keeps him for having a thirst for experiencing a real or normal life. I doubt any woman can change him until he wants to change.

I forgot they talked about giving Jax a show (with Brittany?). Wonder when all these shows are going to debut.

Whoever did Kathryn's hair needs to go back to beauty school. Her hair was so lovely the way it was when it was a normal red. That color was for clowns and the cut was so, so, so, so bad!

I think Thomas wants a woman in her mid-to-late 30s in part because of the children. A woman is own age will likely be done raising kids and his are so young.

I also think that Shep will eventually settle down but still wants to run wild for a bit longer and most important hasn't met the right girl. At least I hope that's the case. I still like him.

James Maby, Landon's ex has 2 ex-wives one who is the mother of his daughter. Stacey Dash declared bankruptcy before they married and said her only means of support was James who gave her $6,000 a month. Six thousand a month isn't that much money for a person who could part with $3 million for Landon. I suspect that he doesn't have the kind of money that he could just give Landon millions. I imagine he gave Stacey a decent amount of cash or spousal support if she was that broke before the marriage just so his daughter is living in decent conditions and of course child support. It's much more likely that he paid off Landon's debts, gave her a car, and maybe a half million lump sum.

But are they going to other countries though? And are they going to show him torn up at the end on who to choose? =p

So Austen just confirmed that the reason he and Chelsea are not together anymore is because Chelsea is over the nightlife/bar life, while he is still not (most especially now, I suppose):

Quote

Austen confirmed to The Daily Dish that the couple are no longer together, but remain on very good terms. "I talk to her all the time, great friends and the one thing that she said was, you know, we're at different aspects of our life. She kind of lives her life more like Cam does [like a homebody] and I like to go out. I like to go get a beer at 3 o'clock in the afternoon if I can," he said. "It's a part of my job. It's not really her MO."

Essentially it all came down similarly to why he broke up with his pre-show long-term girlfriend - he still wants to play around.

I thought Kathryn was wearing a wig, based on the way the hair strands sparkled in the light. Looked very synthetic to me.

I do hope you will enjoy his show. For me rich, know it all, bumbling, goofy, drunk horndog gets old and tedious real quick.

He's doing the show to feed his ego, and collect an easy check. He not serious about having a relationship nor finding a girlfriend, a partner, nor a wife. That would cramp his style and come with to much responsibility. He would have to answer to someone. Any such partner would more than likely end up a caregiver and possibly an enabler till the inevitable breakup, divorce or Shep's funeral because the guy is already having health issues.

I think they are spinning a relationship show because there is nothing else interesting going on in his life. He's not adventurous, he doesnt travel, doesn't have a hobby, does no charity work. He's boring.

He's the type of child that when someone asks about the family and kids the parents can talk about his brother and sister with pride but when it comes to Shep it's a quick "He's doing good and it just trails off and into a different subject as quick as possible." He is an embarrassment.

There are a lot of ills of the television landscape we can pin on Andy Cohen, but Shep's spin off is not one of them, as he hasn't worked at Bravo in development for several years and he's not producing it.  The idiocy of greenlighting Shep's spin off is entirely at the feet of Rachel Smith. http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/bravo-rachel-smith-1201951877/

I have no idea why Whitney was put out on the stage, as he added nothing.  I was curious why Danni wasn't on; she did about as much as Whitney did this season, and at least had the fainting spell to discuss.

I don't remember the specific date, but it was one of her failed drug tests. Then she didn't show up for the next one that was scheduled. I believe this is what Thomas is referring to when he says "you'll never work again" as I'd stated before, her drug use would make her a liability. Hell, she's a liability for Bravo now if they have to put a bodyguard on her during filming of the reunion.

I know what Thomas was getting at was that Kathryn will never work a legitimate job again, but you'll never work again is not a threat to Kathryn. Kathryn has shown no desire to work a legit job. She'd be quite happy to keep going with this reality TV personality thing for awhile. Maybe she does Marriage Bootcamp: Reality Stars, Big Brother UK, Famously Single, bar and club appearances, she briefly gets engaged to Aaron Carter and then break up in dramatic fashion, a brief "DJ" residency at some trashy European club, and finally she'll settle down and get married to a former athlete. They'll get their own reality show about their blended family. She'll "write" a memoir. If those cockroaches Tila Tequila and Farrah Abraham are still making a go of it, Kathryn can too.

Kathryn doesn't want a real job so her drug use doesn't make her any more of a liability than Kim Richards. Bravo happily filmed Kim high as a fucking kite for a solid 5 or 6 seasons.

A bodyguard at the reunion is basically nothing at this point. Porsha (Atlanta) has twice assaulted people on camera. Ramona (New York) threw a glass at Kristen (New York) and tried to hit her with an oar. Carole (New York) grabbed Aviva's (New York) face in the middle of an argument. Teresa (New Jersey) twice tried to assault Danielle Staub (New Jersey). Sheree (Atlanta) grabbed Kim (Atlanta) by her wig. Brandi (Beverly Hills) and Tamra (OC) threw wine in Eileen's (Beverly Hills) and Jeana's (OC) faces respectively. Adriana (Miami) punched Joanna Krupa (Miami) at a party. Tamra (OC) shoved Kelly (OC). Lisa Rinna (Beverly Hills) tried to strangle Kim (Beverly Hills) and broke a wine glass to stab (?) Kim. Golnessa from Shahs has been court ordered into anger management, carries knives, and tried to beat the shit out of Reza last season. Those idiots on Vanderpump Rules regularly assault each other. And all of the above has been on camera. Kathryn's little shit fits are minor league in comparison. I legit believe that Rinna would have tried to stab Kim if they hadn't stopped her and that Porsha would have put her assistant into the hospital.

I am having flashbacks to Flavor of Love, a show in which the "prize" was clearly not worth winning.

When I saw the trailer last night, I thought, how the heck did they get all these women to be on the show, and why would women even want to be on this show. Then I remembered it's probably the same reason why women (and men) join The Bachelor/ette - to gain Instagram notoriety. I still watch those shows because I'm a wrong reasons viewer anyway, I also watch if the lead is likable enough. But for me there is nothing likable about Shep, so I'll be skipping this one.

You know if there weren't two kids involved, I would ship Kathryn and Thomas hard, like the kind of popcorn-watching variety type of ship. They're so perfect for each other. They seem like Ross and Rachel, only the more toxic and berserk version. Only Thomas can go from "I'm telling you right now, if you don't shut up, I'll destroy you..." to "There's this beautiful, redhead woman I saw from across the aisle and it's her...." in a matter of minutes.

Ugh, Kathryn's face.  She looks like a meth addicted ghost.

This!  I think Kathryn was very well sedated during this reunion.  The way she spoke and the way she never raised her voice when being scrutinized convinced me of that.  Also, her hair looked like a baboon's ass.  To be a former model, she sure doesn't know how to fix herself up.  And the phony tears fell on my heartless deaf ears.  Spare me your bad acting you cold hearted douche!

They also think Kathryn is worth $600,000 and Carole Radziwill from Real Housewives of New York is worth $50 million. Carole has said that's absolutely not true.

From what I remember from an old article, Landon said she got a BMW and a couple of thousand of cash when the divorce was finalized. There was no spousal support.

Landon comes across as incredibly not self-aware and an airhead, most of the time. I don't know if she has evil motives behind it, but the woman just doesn't know any boundaries. Regardless of whether something or nothing happened between her and Thomas at the weekend getaway, it's probably something she would have been better off saying no to, considering the still tumultuous relationship existing between him and Kathryn. And it's not even that she and Kathryn were friends, but just that they run in the same social circles that it would have been probably best to just avoid going on the trip. Like Cameran wisely said, "I would have used more discretion given the situation.." It seems discretion is another word missing in Landon's vocabulary.

She takes things to the extreme too. When accused of flirting with Austen, she said something like "so I can't be friends with Austen..." She doesn't listen and try to understand. No one is saying she can't be friends with Austen, but maybe don't drape yourself all over him when his date is sitting on his other side. Cam and Naomie are friends with him but they don't regularly climb all over him and say "that's just my personality...you other girls are just insecure... we're just friends..."

All her other castmates were right in saying she just doesn't know how she comes across when she says ridiculous things, such as the luggage, Roam-worthy, marrying Thomas, etc. A little lesson in self-awareness during the offseason will go a long way.

Andy called them the Taylor and Burton of reality TV in the season 2 or 3 reunion. It is such an apt comparison.

She REALLY has no self awareness or empathy does she?  Is it wrong I enjoy that she had to deal with Stacy Dash when she was married to her last wallet?  She will flirt with the wrong man one day and get a slug right upside the head from his wife/girlfriend.
