To each one's own re considering others' hotness but before one gets too enthralled, take a look at his bio which revealed that he saw his only child a single time in infancy before he split from his first wife and he wasn't the easiest performer to work with.

At least he was generous to charities and had it set up that his fortune would go to them after his widow's death.

When I was in high school and Sugar Ray was popular, this girl was talking about how hot Mark McGrath was. Someone else started talking about how she read he was a bad boyfriend. Then a third girl goes, "That doesn't mean he can't be hot." This reminds me of that. 😄

Caught an old Magnum PI yesterday with guest star Erin Gray. It was from 1981 so it was after Buck Rogers and before Silver Spoons. Looked it up and it was a backdoor pilot for a possible series for her. Shame it didn't get picked up. Always loved her. The late 70s and early 80s had a wealth of gorgeous actresses but she was my favorite.

He has a daughter he apparently ignores other than paying child support so good on him for not taking that role but I liked him less after hearing the rumor about his daughter.

Eh, I've seen a lot of family cases in the court where I work, and situations are often not as they appear.  Just because the mother says she wants the daughter to see him, doesn't mean she told the truth to the tabloid reporter.  And since he required a paternity test, it sounds like there were a lot of problems in that relationship.  So I'm not judging him based on a situation where I don't have information.

Sure, but he is the father.  I guess she could be lying about him choosing to not even attempt to get visitation but I can't think of a situation where the child should pay the price for a poor relationship between the parents.

I love the cast of characters on Ghosts especially Hetty. Rebecca Wisocky is brilliant. I love Oliva Benson and Amanda Rollins from SVU.

She appeared in just one scene as a defense attorney on Major Crimes, in which I really took to her and also vaguely recognized her; looking her up, she'd played a suffragette in the flashbacks of an episode of Cold Case.  So she'd guest starred in two of my handful of exceptions to my hatred of cop shows, and that was enough for me to recognize her when Ghosts promos popped up.  The premise of that show did nothing for me (I don't tend to go for shows rooted in alternate realities), but, for some reason I can't even recall, during the second season I started watching.  I fell in love with the show, and was particularly tickled to see Wisocky killing it.  I love that she's achieved this level of success at this point in her career.

Yeah, I really love the "Ghosts" cast, too. They all seem like a fun, cool, lovely group of people and I just really like that they're so close on and off the set. This cast in general was new to me when I first checked out this show, and it's been so great getting to become familiar with a new set of actors - i've been trying to go through and check out their other work outside "Ghsots" as well.

If you like the original Ghosts, check out Horrible Histories, Yonderland, and Bill if you can find them. HH is on Hulu. The core group of Laurence Rickard, Jim Howik, Simon Farnby, Martha Howe-Dougles, Ben Willbond, and Mathew Baynton wrote and appeared in them all. Most of them also pop up in other series--Willbond was in an episode of Inside No. 9, for example, and Baynton guest starred on the US Ghosts.

Does anyone love the actor Nicholas Hoult? I saw him on The Great and I swear, there was never another role on TV that made me laugh as much as Peter on The Great. Then I went down a rabbit hole and saw Skins, The Menu, Warm Bodies, Renfield, and he was hilarious in every single one. A real character actor trapped in a leading man body.

Very good actor, since childhood.  Check out About a Boy with Hugh Grant.  Nicholas played the boy, of course.  Great performance in a very good movie, IMO.

He's also rather well known for having been with Jennifer Lawrence for a number of years just as she was becoming well known.

I had never heard of Nicholas Hoult until I saw The Menu a few days ago.  I loved that movie, and he was creepily good in it.

Seriously, for anyone who hasn't seen The Great, see it. It is hilarious. I stopped liking Bridgerton as much bc The Great was just so much better.

I'd seen him in three different roles before I realised it was the same person. A really chameleonic actor. Warm Bodies, X-Men, and the eternally shiny and chrome Mad Max: Fury Road.

I'd never heard of Hoult until I saw Renfield, and he was hilarious and a lot of fun in that movie. I've heard many good things about "The Great", so that's definitely on my "to check out" list at some point. Will have to add some of these other movies to my list as well, it seems.

Hell on The Great he played Emperor Peter and his double Pugachev. And he was different enough in voice and body language that it took me a hot minute to realize they were the same actor.

My love for Hugh Jackman has reignited over Deadpool and Wolverine. He and Ryan Reynolds have just been so hilarious over promoting it. Not to mention he was on fire for the whole film.

I winced a little at the meta divorce joke, but I’m assuming that since it’s been amicable as far as we know and that he and Ryan are friends, he can laugh about it now. And the big climax of the film proved that he, in fact, has not “let himself go.” 😍😍😍😍😍🥵🥵🥵🥵

Michael Keaton AKA Michael Keaton Douglas is not flawless . However, I've always considered him a breath of fresh air re expressing a sincere love for the challenges of performing even when playing characters not instantly adorable.

OK, but what also stands out for me is his openly gushy love for his son Sean Douglas (who he calls his 'best friend' )and grandkids but also the fact that even though his marriage to the younger Mr. Douglas's mother the late Caroline McWilliams (1945-2010) ended with divorce in 1990, far from trashing her has said that 'she was a remarkable mom. Sean's the great guy he is because of her!'

 

Oh, and on a shallow note, even with his not attempting to tint his now-white remaining hair, he easily looks about two decades younger than his 73 years!

Bumping this up: halfway through that short-lived 60s ABC Gothic hit comedy The Addams Famlly on DVD (just started the second and final season), and I've now added Gomez and Morticia Addams to my favorites (the players, John Astin and the late Carolyn Jones, played them quite well, and the show itself is far funnier than its CBS competitor The Munsters).

I love that series. I wish we had more seasons. The whole family was great. I wanted to be Morticia. She's just so cool. I love Gomez. They are crazy about each other but also really good parents. Me too on that score! The one thing I don't like, however, is the presentation on DVD (though I'm learning to live with it)-- 9 double-sided discs in three volumes (the first disc in the second volume is hard to keep on its hub).

I like the fact that, until Gomez wed Morticia he was an ailing sickly heir totally overwhelmed by [the future] Grandmama Eudora. And that he and Morticia jointly ruled their domain!

I love how despite Gomez originally going to marry Ophelia and the terrible advice that Gomez and Morticia got from Fester and Cousin It. Her family didn't end up hating Gomez and/or Morticia. No they moved on and consider themselves all family. Any other show would have Ophelia not speaking to Morticia for years and her mother hating Gomez. Nope, they all accepted it and moved on becoming a happy family.

Which is why the original ABC 60s Addams Family (from what I've seen) was far funnier then in B/W (IMO) than many 90s and 2000s and 2010s "comedies" are these days in color-- if that Addams Family were made these days, there'd be a lot of infighting, and Morticia and Gomez would be probably hurling insults at each other, and it probably wouldn't have lasted very long (unless of course it got an audience who loved that kind of stuff, as Everybody Loves Raymond did in the 90s and 2000s on CBS).

To say nothing of Gomez and Morticia themselves both having affection for Grandmama- and inviting her Uncle Fester to move in with them (despite both these two initially having opposed their marriage)! Gomez even went so far as to once tell Fester than 'But you ARE an Addams!' even though Fester wasn't Gomez's actual blood relative . Moreover, they'd always welcome Grandma Hester Frump to visit. However, Gomez never entirely felt comfortable around his sister-in-law and onetime betrothed Ophelia but he  accepted her as part of their family!

There's an episode Gomez the Reluctant Lover, he forgets that Grandmama is his mother and thinks she's Morticia's mother. Morticia has to remind him.

Also in one episode when it looked like Ophelia's fiance might be lying to her. He did a background check on him and when it came back bad. He and Morticia tried to save Ophelia from him. It turned out he was telling the truth and the guy who did the background check had the wrong name. Gomez and Morticia...apologized. They were very good at apologizing when they were wrong.
