I've seen that meme go around many times; these are not deep thoughts from Whitney Way Thore.  It's supposed to be funny, but coming from her it's ironic.

Chase posted more baby pictures on instagram - that child is truly adorable.  Also pictures of a beautiful meal he made for "date night" (Identity of the date is redacted.  I am prepared to say, based on the ingredients alone, that it wasn't Whitney. 🙂 )

Since I am of the belief that Chase was hired by the production team to play the role of Whitney's admirer, and I also think Whitney knew that he had an actual girlfriend while she was playing his girlfriend on TV,  I can't accuse Chase of "cheating." He comes across to me as a man totally enamored of his daughter, and he can cook!  Plus he's hardworking, owns a  house, and generally seems like a nice guy.  As my eastern European grandmother would have said, "Such a ketch!"  Maybe she did fall for him, but she sure didn't act it -- unless her idea of showing affection is being critical, demanding, passive aggressive, uncompromising and bossy.

She is really a cutie and he really seems to be enjoying her. That’s wonderful. I am very impressed with the meal he made for the girlfriend. It looked delicious. I’m glad to see him happy and doing well.

I don’t think she “fell” for him. I don’t think she knows how to have that kind of relationship. But I do think she decided he should want her and was insanely jealous of the life he’s built. So when he didn’t want her, she threw a Whitney tantrum - critical, demanding, passive aggressive, uncompromising, and bossy.

Am I evil because the first thing I thought when I saw that food was "Whitney would never touch anything that healthy"? That's why, even if this had not been a fake relationship,  it never would have worked. Chase is into being  active and healthy.  Whitney's into being  fat and lazy.

I think a full-on Whitney tantrum also includes sobbing and guilt-tripping. No doubt we'll see that soon.

If you are evil then so am I. She would never touch any of that food. Remember that beautiful piece of salmon she acted like was a log of dog shit? These two have nothing in common. They wouldn’t have even got past a first date if it had been real.

I see Chase with his baby and living this active, healthy life and I just can’t ever bring myself to picture him with Twit.  They have absolutely NOTHING in common and we’ve already been through all the reasons why he would never be attracted to her IRL . . . Only one of about twelve things would be her weight.  Chase looks happy to be out of his obligation - whatever it was with Twit - and I wish him nothing but happiness and a great give-and-take relationship with his gf.  Perhaps he can show Twit what a real relationship looks like and a light bulb will go off in her head.

It also seem much worse than when she did the workouts with Ryan. I’ve only seen a few clips from the Ryan version of NoBSactive. While Whitney always seems to be screwing around, Ryan seemed to be doing more legitimate exercises and at least Whitney wasn’t doing the ‘My 600 lbs life’ version. Sure neither was ever a ‘kick your ass’ workout, but geez. What they have now, both Whit and Jessica’s side, is really just standing there hardly doing anything. It’s more like Jessica is doing what Whit followers should be doing and Whit is doing what bed-ridden people would do.

There is a guy...not bad looking, yum, who has a series of fitness programs for old folks. It's  called grow young fitness, mostly  chair based, and waaaaay more active than what Whit did in her clip.

My mother is 81.  She has osteoarthritis.  She’s had both knees, both hips, and one shoulder replaced. And she had one of her hip replacements replaced (they wear out) in October. She is more active than what Whit did in her clip. Heck she was more active the day after her hip surgery than Whit was in that clip.

Now she has an insta story and she's shilling for an electric toothbrush that comes with a bacteria-killing holder. I don't pay much attention to instagram influencers (other than a couple of artists whose work I like) so I can't help wonder if she's doing it right. All these kind of random objects (menstrual cups! FabFit box subscriptions! facial scrubs! bras! health drinks! toothbrushes!   . . . I know I'm forgetting  some things ***. . . ) She just puts them up and says how great they are and how much she likes them and she has a discount code. But is it enough to get people to buy the stuff?  I guess I'm wondering how successful an influencer she actually is?

I’m not exactly the target audience for influencers, but Whitney’s approach doesn’t seem like an effective way to make sales. The information is only there a few days at most. Her haphazard choice of products seems weirdly random too. It really comes off as waiting a free product so she’s wiling to record a little blurb about it. She hasn’t used anything long enough, or even in some cases at all, to really give a legitimate review. Maybe this does work, but it doesn’t seem like it would to me.

Usually you try and group the products you get with your particular brand although most reality stars on the low level always start off with those fit fab boxes, flat tummy tea-I guess that one wasn’t an option and fashion nova.  I don’t even fashion nova has a plus size line but I guess she got that covered with torrid.  In a way this shit is so random and does look like somebody bored at home during a quarantine that’s just ordering a bunch of unrelated nonsense, so in that way it does make it more real, but honestly if she’s trying to be a social media influencer she really needs to put effort into looking halfway presentable.  The onetime she wore some from Eloqui or something close to that name, it seemed to be a better quality of clothing for plus sized women.  I don’t know if it is but she looked pretty nice in it.  She wears hair extensions why doesn’t she find a decent brand to hook up with?  She claims she’s working out why doesn’t she try and get a deal with Nike plus or a real plus size workout clothing line.  I mean she does have a million followers that’s pretty substantial.  She’s in love with her cats, and now dog try and get a deal with Chewy or pet related company.  I mean any of these make more sense than a toothbrush.  No offense but she’s claiming not to shower, wash her hair for days and pees in pools and hot tubs but she’s shilling a personal hygiene product? Make it make sense.

ETA: The other thing is social media influencers’ followers want that person’s life so they buy these things to be like them.  Does anyone want Whitney’s life?  Also, a lot of her followers are always saying things are too expensive.  She should tried to team up with Walmart or Kmart at the time to make a lower level affordable clothing line but again this takes work.

She never seemed to understand the process. I remember the days, before she went to that plus size convention, when she would wear something and get repeated questions from her fans about where to buy whatever it was. She'd either ignore them, or she'd reply to one fan, whose message would move down the thread and not be seen by anyone else. Then it seemed she was coached by some of the women she met at the convention, and she started to name the stores where the things she was wearing were available. It looked briefly as if she'd gotten some arrangement with Torrid, but after a few weeks, she stopped giving Torrid mentions. I thought at the time she maybe had just been campaigning the brand, and had given up when Torrid didn't immediately reach out to her. Just another way she is letting opportunities slip through her hands like engagement rings 🙂  I guess if all she wants is some freebies for herself,  she's getting them, and for the least amount of effort possible.

Whitney’s new love story should be with Steven Assanti.  They both like cats, they both whine, they both have enabling parents, they both have siblings that look like they don’t want to be there.   What I would give to see them both ride off into the sunsets in matching golf carts.

Yikes. I remember seeing that when it was first posted but I had suppressed it. Now I need more therapy. I love how her comment says she’s trying to work out but the boys are twerking and “lost in the sauce’. But really she’s the only one not starting the workout while Ryan and the other guy are trying to start and looking at her horrified and confused.

LOL! She's got so much flab on her that she barely needs to move to "twerk". All she has to do is budge just the tiniest bit and it all jiggles like poorly set jello!

There's body positivity and there's making a fool out of yourself. I really wish that Whitney (and her supporters) would learn to recognize the difference.

Damn! I don’t even know how to comment on that other than people generally women marry serial killers. Not that I’m equating him to a serial killer, but I can’t believe Steven Assanti got married before Whitney and I’m not really considering either one’s weight.   Part of me hopes that Whitney wouldn’t actually marry just any old body for real. No comment on Assanti, I don’t know anything about the wife.

Oh well! I guess I can go back to my crossover Whitney as Kody’s fifth sister wife.  I do wonder if Whitney is actually actively looking to date.  The barnacles seem to fill her emotional needs and seem to be on call.  I guess whoever is in charge of the vibrators is taking care of the physical need.  For as much as she wants somebody she never seems to treat the people in the  tv “relationships” very well.  Honestly, as pathetic as it sounds I’m sure there’s some fan out there who would treat her pretty well, there’s always a codependent sucker somewhere.  They might not be a male model, but if she slept with Buddy, the only requirement physical might just be that he is smaller than she is. She should have tried to meet some dude on all those NO BS cruises.  I haven’t looked at all her pics of the cruises and think it’s majority women, but maybe there’s some single men on there.

To clear the thoughts of the previous post hers a cute pic of Tal and Jon

I don't follow Whitney's SM, so what follows is based only on what people have posted in this forum. So, about shilling products.

What Whitney seems to be doing is affiliate marketing. People may say they've partnered with, or are sponsored by, a brand but someone offering a coupon is usually just an affiliate. All you have to do is sign up and you'll get a unique link. Wherever someone uses your link to buy, you get a small commission. Affiliates don't get free products.

It's usually best to find affiliates that you can incorporate seamlessly into your content. A fashion blogger would want different affiliates than a recipe site, for instance. If, like Whitney, your SM is personality driven, it makes sense to try multiple affiliates and eventually concentrate on the ones that give you the best return.

In the early aughts I had maybe 10 affiliate links on my site. I did nothing more than list the links on the site and do a little minor promotion of the site itself. It was a niche site, so 250-300 visitors a day was good. With that I made $50 a month for doing very little. Today someone with a million followers and multiple platforms could do much better.

In a genuine partnership/sponsorship a brand pays the influencer directly for endorsements. It may also provide free products to use in, say, a demonstration. Unlike affiliate programs, where anyone can sign up, brands usually contact the influencer to offer a partnership.

Having zero knowledge of SM marketing, this is really interesting! So if you are an affiliate you have to purchase the product you are shilling and hope you earn enough money back from the links to pay for the product plus profit? With her huge SM presence, I'm surprised companies aren't knocking down her door and sending her stuff to promote all the time.  I wonder why they are not.  I also wonder why Whitney thought toothbrushes, vibrators, and bathing products would be a good fit for her brand.  I would think something fitness related, so she can tie it into her workout videos, would make more sense.

No. Affiliate links lead to sites where people buy the product from whatever company sells it. The company delivers to the buyer and sends the affiliate her commission. Kind of like buying a house. The realtor doesn't own the house, she sells it on behalf of the owner and receives a commission for doing so.

You're right, it's unlikely that Whitney would have paid partnerships, because she doesn't have enough followers. For instance Olivia Jade, Lori Loughlin's daughter, had more than a million followers on each of two platforms. She also had a popular market, beauty. Nothing against Whitney here. For people like Olivia Jade, being an influencer is a career. For people like Whitney it's only an alternate income stream.

Whitney has around 996,000 followers on Instagram and a bit under 520,000 on Facebook (I'm sure there's a lot of overlap between the two). That's a sizable following but not a really huge one. Not compared to big influencers have followers in the millions (many by virtue of their YouTube or TikTok channels). One that caught my eye was a young man focused on travel who has over 2.5 million followers and he doesn't have a tv show promoting him. Whitney is pretty small potatoes from a marketing point of view. Hell, there's an account for a traveling hedgehog with over a million followers, so let that sink in. Whitney has had a cable tv show for years, and a good amount of media attention and she doesn't even have as many Instagram followers as a fucking hedgehog!

And then you have to consider who Whitney's base tend to be. This is not the kind of demographic that most major companies are looking to sell to. So no, she's not going to get major sponsorship and affiliate deals. She has the thing briefly with Eloqii, but she's now just taking whatever comes down the pike. Her opportunity to make a serious income based on her fame is clearly starting to close. Her show may last awhile because it's cheap to film but it's not burning up the ratings. We're probably going to see more of this sad shilling of random products because that's all she's really got going for her right now.
