Salacious Kitty January 17 Share January 17 (edited) Jeremy doesn't impress me as being a builder of anything. I think he farms that stuff out to guys like Austin. Jeremy's education probably intimidates Austin to a certain degree. Austin used to hang out with those YouTube guys who thought they were so smart, but were actually morons. There's a lot of variables to whether a doc would okay flying. Age, degree of infection, where in the process of healing they are. The risk of a tear or burst ear drum needs a doc's opinion. These aren't things most parents can assess on their own. 7 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/272/#findComment-8280070

I did not advocate any parent making the decision themselves. My personal experiences were including a doctor's advice and prescription medication use. As I posted. I've busted an eardrum TWICE while flying. It's horrifying. First of all, it hurts like hell, and right when you think you can't possibly handle any more pain, it stops, which is great. Until you start bleeding out your ear, and then you get to have the anxiety response of "Oh god i'm dying oh god the guy next to me is going to think I have ebola AND that I'm a weirdo because I just shoved an entire pack of Trident Gum in my mouth to prevent this earsplosion" Followed by several days of antibiotic eardrops and a vaguely ringing ear. Good times. The only thing I will say is that it's not so hard to dodge it if Joy loaded the baby up on decongestants before the flight. There's also pressurizing earplugs that can help prevent it. 1 2 8 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/272/#findComment-8280624

dargosmydaddy March 11 Share March 11 None of the other younger girls really read with confidence, either. And they all (including Joy) seemed to have a bit of trouble with understanding a couple of the (fairly straightforward) questions. I am always strangely fascinated by Duggar sibling dynamics, so I watched the whole video. Jenni and Jordyn seemed sad/ unenthusiastic (a constant state for Jenni since her toddler years), although Jenni does seem to genuinely enjoy animals and had some life in her when discussing her goal to get some mini cows. Was she the one who said she wanted to be a vet back when she was a little kid? Too bad her lack of education and opportunities will prevent that. I know everyone thinks Johanna looks like a mini Joy, but I was seeing a lot of Jessa in her facial expressions when she was talking. She was the most enthusiastic in the video. I think she will be another daughter who marries young because she just wants out of the big house. Hopefully she ends up with a halfway decent guy. I was also amused that they still call her "Hansel" (this nickname first came up on the show years ago, and always seemed surprisingly masculine for a Duggar girl). Josie seemed much younger than the rest, and prone to butting in when she didn't need to. I did feel bad for her when she mentioned Tyler or Michael tearing the head off her doll back in the day before she even got to play with it. Jana is still over everything. The most animation she showed was her wistful reminiscing about the old house. I do wonder whether Joy had someone else (non-sister) to keep an eye on her kids while she did the video with her sisters? She said Austin was out of town. Evy wandered in and out now and then, and I realize the video was edited and Joy might have gotten up in between to deal with the kids, but it still seems odd (though on-brand, I suppose) to leave your small children to their own devices while you hang out (and film a 20-minute video) with your sisters. 4 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/51212-joy-and-austin-this-one-time-at-family-camp/page/272/#findComment-8309868
