Really? I thought they just sent them to ALERT. What the hell is Jed doing there? Is the one in front holding a notebook of some kind Jason? He certainly has the Duggar receding hair line, and I remember that he hasn't really grown yet. I imagine that Duggars can't be sent alone.

So, these boys are sent to ALERT any time they start to have natural teenaged hormones and are caught acting on it?  I have so many thoughts on this and most of them have been posted over the last several months.  However there is one thing I don't get.  If Boob needs to send them to a camp or whatever the hell it is, then isn't he failing as a headship and father?  As in, isn't it a father's responsibility to train up their children?  I don't remember any section of the bible that says you send your kid to camp if they touch themselves...

What the hell does "fighting in prayer for them" mean??

I think it means that the Great Enemy (Satan) really has it out for these young guys and is waging a war to bring them into his hellish legions (i.e., sending them the desire to masturbate (TM Jeremy Vuolo) or the desire to do some things on their own without consulting their headships! and so on). Their duty as good Gothard-type Christians is to fight against that, and all the other faithful of their ilk can fight alongside them by praying for them to be strong.

Or something.

I guess thinking that you're waging some sort of massive virtual war on a universe level makes them feel important. Poor Duggar brats wouldn't get to feel important in any other way, so I suppose that's one reason they fall so hard for this asinine theology.

I remain completely dumbfounded that teenagers of both sexes have to be sent away to deter them from the completely normal and healthy process of growing up.  It's sick to think that they believe that nature can be controlled or corralled in this way.  I just cannot wrap my mind around how anyone can view this as normal, even under the guise of their religion.

I'm with you.  How does learning what insects are safe to eat or building a fire without matches supposed to subdue a teen's natural urges & feelings?  Do you have to dig a hole with a stick because you happened to see a girl's bra strap peeking out? I don't get it either.

Good way to give a kid a hole-in-the-dirt fetish. Or an insect or a creating-friction-on-a-stick fetish, I suppose. Could make for some interesting wedding nights down the road.

Probably more interesting than I care to think about. Ever again.

At least they're outside?

Shame they probably won't carry any of their experiences home.

The Duggars claimed they had a small TV to watch Razorback games. Uhm, the days of rabbit ears are long past (that was implied in JB's statement). They have basic cable. I wish they would just admit it.

Not necessarily.  It depends on how far away they are from the television station.  My parents have never had cable or satellite, ever.  They still use an antenna to pick up local stations, but they can't pick up stations from as far away as they could in the non-digital rabbit-ear days.

There have been times when we used an antenna to pick up local channels because it was still the cheapest way to watch them in High-def.  The only reason the Duggars would need a cable or satellite package for sports that are regionally local to them is if it were a high priority for them to watch every single game.

I've never had cable either. Only have seen it when I'm away from home. I get pretty many stations via antenna. And lots of games featuring local teams. So they may be telling the truth. (Or not, of course.)

We got rid of our cable completely early this year...just got tired of paying through the nose for something we barely got anything out of. Now we have an antenna on the roof which brings in stations within about a 60 mile radius, which gives us the major networks, PBS, and about 20 other random channels, and there's Hulu and Netflix for pretty much anything else. We still barely watch TV, but now it only costs us $20 something/month rather than $120.

That being said, I don't seem to be able to watch any Duggar shows as TLC wants to go through a cable provider and I can't find them on Hulu or Netflix. But since I never actually watched them before this, I don't figure i'm missing a whole lot. I just get curious sometimes when I read the discussions on certain scenes.

Jynnan tonix, I found it on youtube for free (and didn't have to follow a channel either!)

Thanks...will try that! I didn't even think of youtube for some reason (even though I spent way too long on it last night after getting an urge to watch the old "Pirates of Penzance" movie with Kevin Kline and his thigh-high pirate boots.  And watched "With Catlike Tread" way more times than was probably good for me)  :)

Not anymore. She hasn't posted a picture of herself with a family member since January when the older kids did the Counting On shoot. She supposedly went out to lunch with Jinger.

Boob probably made her stop. Nothing he does to show his authority surprises me.

I've got an idea for Nancy...HOW ABOUT we get to see the Dugbots actually having to "survive" working an actual Big Boy or Big Girl JOB, where they get NO Speshul Treatment?

JB lets them think they are getting real life skills by going to survival camp. Pity he never taught them a bloody thing about actually having to function in The Real World.

This is their Real World.

I would give anything to see the howlers and lost girls on 'The Real World' as soon as possible once they turn 18.

I doubt one of the Lost Girls will land on MTV's The Real World but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the Lost Girls age into an adult woman appearing in a porn called "19 Dicks & Counting" (or one of the Howlers).  With the exception of Jana's kids, all the Howlers and Lost Girls have been abandoned by their Sister-Mothers, have no relationship with their birth parents and have grown up with the camera there. When the series ends (it will, right? One day?) they will have to seek out cameras as it's all they know.

That picture makes me sad.  No brownie uniforms, no practice uniforms, no sleep over friends eating with them, no barbies, no my pretty ponies, just nothing.  Well red paper.  Just another day in duggar land.  What a lonely, sad life.

Oh dear. You're right.

My first thoughts were ones of surprise that not only were they sitting down to eat but they were in a clean space. Really low bar.

The dichotomy of Duggar-watching.

And the angle of that shot makes my neck hurt.

OMG...My goosebumps have goosebumps from thinking about the plastic spoons scrape-scrape-scraping against those styofoam bowls.

Is the middle Jkid having a birthday and her gift is the homemade card and unwrapped gift of another girl outfit?

Aaaaaand...is it national side-pony-tail throwback day? Or is that my vertigo?

I think that's Jordyn? She and Jenni need to run away together and find somewhere to be happy.

Is that a Chick tract she's reading? It looks like one.

i see Josie is using a spoon, but why is her cereal entirely macerated? Is this so she can eat it or does she just like to play with her food?

These kids look pathetic.

Incorrectly! By 6 1/2, you should know better, especially with a thousand models to learn from. And I am using "model" seriously here; that's how most of us learn ANYTHING in early years, or any years! We're not all Bill Gates or Mark Zuckerberg. But they still had to have SOMETHING modeled for them that they took into a new dimension. Josie? Not so much. At least even Mack (Jenni has blonder hair), as depressed as she looks, is holding her spoon correctly, and I'm pretty sure she's just a couple months older than Precious Miracle.

Yes, it looks like a tract.

I think it's Jordyn, and she's realizing that her sister mom is really gone. I bet that was supposed to be a happy thing. Jessa has paid scant attention to these kids even before she was engaged. The first time the audience even knew about Justin and Jordyn was when she was scanning whatever store that was for a wedding registry. Nice.

I think that is the piece of paper the Razorback stickers were on next to Jenni/Jordyn. Apparently watching sports is another rule they have loosened. Point - Ben.

Is that Meredith's outfit for the day? Probably not a wise place to place clean clothing.

I'm guessing they're eating mac and cheese or Ramen, but it could be oatmeal, I suppose.

Do the Duggars ever use real dishes? Poor girl at top of picture, Jenni (?) looks miserable, as usual.

24.9 THOUSAND "likes" say it doesn't matter.

What the hell is the matter with people? And how many are Duggar-similar or try to emulate this awful family? Can't stand to think about it.

Oh, it does look like one. Argh. So much better to read the back of the cereal box. The desolation of their lives bring back memories for me that make me crazy half a century later, and I had way way more outlets away from the desolation than they ever had on their best day. It's horrifying.

I have a good friend who is a doctor and she did not want to speculate on what is wrong with Joisie but she did say by watching videos and looking at pictures she can see she is development delayed. To what degree she can not diagnose because she never saw her in real life.

Looks like the two older girls are having Captain Crunch, and Josie is having frosted flakes. Basically big bowls of sugar to start their days. Yum.

Name brand cereal?  Jana is slipping in how she runs this household.
