Poor Derick is so confused.  He's obviously thinking about 19 Kids and Counting if he's think of a show that celebrates a travesty of a family.  I'm pretty sure Nate & Jeremiah can tell someone more about their kids' interests/likes/personalities than the standard Duggar birthday wish lines, since you know, they don't have so many that they never spend any real amount of time with the kids.  I'm also pretty sure they'll make sure their kids have access to a real education and that their daughter won't be taught that her only value is as a helpmeet and broodmare.  They've also worked in real jobs & can pass along the value of hard work to their kids. My guess is they also won't actively teach their kids to hate people who are different from them, either.

You could make the argument that TLC is "celebrating" the Duggars' Conservative Christian lifestyle just as much as they're "celebrating" Jazz Jennings and her transition. After all, both families have nationally televised shows on the same network, so how is one side being persecuted or favored over the other? This guy makes no sense.

College is an age where people sometimes come to terms with their sexuality and they need an open and non judgmental person to speak to and feel comfortable (that is why 15+ years ago Safe Zone stickers were popular at Universities, kids needed to know they could be open and feel safe speaking freely).  Regardless of what the school he is with believes, I would think they don't want someone spewing THIS type of stuff at the people paying tuition.  I don't know but this atheist feels this line of thinking and acting is not what a God would approve of nor do I think he/she would want them as their mouthpiece.

Josh was on the show for years.  WE didn't know he sexually abused his sisters (including his "failure to launch" wife and a non relative) but THEY knew.  The Duggar parents included their sexually perverse child and he got to be showcased on TLC making bank.  Explain that you mother fucker.  Or is it only bad if people know about it?  **For someone who doesn't agree with this lifestyle he sure spends an awful lot of time watching and commenting on it.  Jill, there may be something your husband needs to tell you.  I don't know of any heterosexual male that is so freaking obsessed with the bedroom habits of strangers.

 

**I am guilty as well since I am commenting on someone who I find despicable.  But The Dickweeds have never paid me nor has TLC so I am biting no hand :)

I feel that you might be correct with your assessment.  I really hope that nothing happens to Izzy or Sam when it all comes to a head.  Derrick does not seem to be of sound mind, and I hope that he seeks appropriate help before anything happens that he cannot take back.

Just stumbled across this on the news and Wow, just Wow.  Wonder why the Dillard's aren't on TLC anymore, gee that's a head scratcher <sarcasm alert>.  Seriously though, did he get all the mileage and attention he could out of Jazz and thought he needed a new target to get some attention.  And that "Exactly" comment when someone asked why they include their daughter in the show............ Just when I thought the guy couldn't get anymore hypocritical.  From a family that airs "reality" TV that includes their child molesting son, their preemie daughter and her seizures, the births of multiple children including one of his own with every contraction and pain recorded and aired for thousands of people to see........The guy who takes money to have his own children filmed is going to try and pull the "don't involve the children" card on Nate and Jeremiah.

OK so I'm moving from having a point to just ranting.  But when he moved on to attacking not one, not two, but multiple people based solely on their sexual orientation and made comments about N&J's daughter that she could find and read some day.  He went from douche to fully on hypocritical jerk.   I can only assume he was getting his teeth fixed or having his oh so appealing gag issues looked at and was absent every day that his so called missionary school covered the teachings that had to do with compassion, forgiveness and loving they neighbor.

I was reading over his tweets (sorry I don't know how to copy and paste from Twitter) and he is still going on about not getting money from TLC.  I really want to ask him how he could afford the tuition for his ministry program if they were never compensated for the show.  Who has $12,000 laying around to pay for a program like this plus the normal expenses a family of 4.  Even if he does have an actual income-producing job, there is no way that Cross Church would let him pay in installments.

I don’t know the couple Derick is tweeting about, but it doesn’t sound like they have ever posted pictures of their daughter rolled up in a blanket screaming in distress, or accused their loving children of being manipulative. I’m guessing that they don’t practice blanket training and that they want more for their little girl than to grow up to be a broodmare.  In summary, it sounds like the Dullard’s lifestyle is much more degrading to children than this couple’s.

Has anyone else wondered about this? They seemed to do it happily as far as I could tell. Why is Derick, now, complaining about the whole situation? The time to have 'quit' that show is when they married. Derick could have, at least not participated in it and kept his good job at WalMart. Jilly could have been the 'family TV star". She also could have fulfilled her contract with TLC until it expired and RETIRED.  Nothing adds up right with these two.

The comment Derick is making comes from a recent sermon and recent post by some guy. The gist of it says there are many sins in the Bible and none of them are "celebrated" like homosexuality is, meaning no one is fighting for the rights of thieves, liars, etc.

He gets all fired up and spews this stuff as fact because other people believe it too. What he doesn't think about is he comes off as a hypocrite when he repeats it. He fails to realize that folks see him as exploiting his children, and folks think that his way of life is harmful to children, and he refused to air the birth of Sammy because TLC wouldn't help pay off Izzy's birth.

I'm thinking somewhere in the Bible, using children for money, restraining children, oppressing children, publicly bullying others and lying by omission, are explained as sins. But then Derick would come back and say exploitation, child abuse, bullying and lying aren't being "celebrated". 

My take home message from Derick is that it's okay to sin as long as no one is fighting for equal rights regarding the sin. Totally ass backward if you ask me.

He had his own child on that show - and even if he came to some slow realization that the child shouldn't be on there, he and his dim spouse are using SM to promote themselves via blog, IG and that twitter - if he was truly worried about children he'd shut down or put his account on private...and that'll never happen.

My two cents about that whole issue is this: If what we suspect is correct, and the TLC checks went to Boob and Boob alone, Derelict may have been under the assumption that money would trickle down to Jill at some point, either through a monthly allowance or a lump sum check. However Boob might've considered rent-free living in two separate McMansions as fair compensation and said nope, sorry, you're on your own when Derick lost his Walmart gig.

It just seems like whatever is going on, Derick's real beef is with the Duggars, but he doesn't have the stones to call them out so he goes after TLC instead. If you watch the Bates show, there's been several instances where husbands couldn't participate in family vacations due to work, so I highly doubt TLC was holding a gun to his head and forcing him to take time off. Derick needs to grow up and own his bad decisions.
